Family atmosphere in a guesthouse but with top class hotel service - best of both worlds The location is spectacular with the design of the house taking advantage of it. The rooms are wonderful and spotlessly clean. Best place to take a bath or shower! Lots of amazing things to do in the area with easy access to the Kruger.

Review 12：This gorgeous, modern, spacious property is nestled in the heart of the Blyde river canyon, just a short drive way from the panoramic route. Giel and Lidia are fantastic hosts, with an eye for detail and hospitality. We upgraded to a mountin view suite that was well worth the small charge. We enjoyed unspoiled views of the star filled sky and witnessed Zebras drinking from the watering hole whilst taking a shower. Priceless. Lidia prepares all the meals with a fine attention to detail, you can just tell that she has a passion for cooking. Giel was our server and prior to dinner he escorted us to his spectacular wine cellar where he introduced us to an amazing Shiraz. We dined adjacent to the pool overlooking the incredible rolling hills of the property. We were sent away with a cooler bag for our drive on the panoramic route and given a care pack with cold waters for our drive to Kruger. Very considerate gorgeous people...who made it very difficult to leave.

Review 14：The best stay along the Panorama route/in the Blyde River Canyon! This accomodation is incredible!! The expectations are high when it has an average of '10' out of 44 reviews, but it is worth even more than that! The owners Giel and Lydia are amazing people! They are very very friendly and they know how to make your stay perfect. The accomodation is so wonderfull that we skipped most of our plans so we could enjoy at the accomodation/pool. It is highly recommended to book dinner. One night we ate at the cellar and the other night outside, both amazing and the quality of the food was superb. For us it felt like three days of paradise and we will go back for sure!

Review 15：With its incredible view and attention to detail, the UmVangati House is one of the most incredible places I've ever stayed! We travelled from J'Burg and although arrived late, way past dinner hours, Giel and Lidia were tireless on serving us a perfect dinner. We only stayed one night but had an amazing time that I'll never forget. I´ve already recommended it for my friends and colleagues!

Review 16：- Perhaps it is a bit further away from the spots on the Panorama Route indicated in the travel guides, but the route to get to the viewpoints is also panoramic and worth it.

Review 17：The most amazing property where we have ever stayed! The quiet was perfect, the facilities were luxurious, and the surroundings and views were astonishing. The boat trip on the Blyde River Canyon that the owners advised is right down the street and the Panoramic Route is about one-hour drive away. The entire family were extremely hospitable and provided full attention and many little details throughout our stay (like the turn-down service with chocolates, the coolbox with drinks for our day trip left in front of the car, drinks by the pool on arrival, etc.); - The breakfast was cooked to order and super-tasty. Lynda cooked dinner on the first night (excellent!) and we were served in the beautiful cellar; - Great location for both the Blyde River Canyon and the Kruger park.

Review 18：The view is amazing!!! The rooms are beautiful, absolute perfection! We had an amazing time! Giel and Lidia went out of their way to make our stay memorable! There is a beautiful wine cellar where we enjoyed dinner! Lidia is a phenomenal cook! You won't get any better Panorama route accommodation. Highly recommended!

Review 19：Staying at umVangati House is a truly wonderful experience. Everything is perfect down to the last detail from the beautifully appointed rooms to the delicious breakfasts. You are welcomed from the minute you arrive and feel for a few days you are living in a different world. We had just been on safari and staying here gave us the chance to rest and relax.

Review 24：The place was juste exceptional ! We have initially booked a room in a main house but were kindly upgraded and had a chance to experience a two nights stay in a suite (king size bed, private terrasse, bath tube overlooking a private reserve and mountains chain) and I definitely recommend to book directly a private suite without hesitation ! We have also booked 2 dinners at the main house prepared by the hosts. First one was served in a wine cellar and the second on a magnificent terrasse of a main house under the endless african sky full of stars !!! The food was really good and we were really touched by the willingness of our hosts to share their traditional meals and customs. During the whole stay we were surrounded by all those small attentions that make you stay just perfect (disponibility, good advice about the places to visit, fresh water to take away for your excursions, prepared room with little attentions before going to sleep). I would also like to have a possibility to keep this place secret and share it only with the closest and most precious people ! ;) Thank you a lot Lidia and Giel !

Review 25：Everything. The place is amazing, the food top quality and the cherry in the top of the cake... Lidia and Giel are the perfect hosts! For you to have an idea, one evening we arrived late and they called us 3 times because they were worried...

Review 27：When arriving at gate 2, We had no idea what to expect for. It took us about 5 minutes to drive via nature road from the gate till we arrived the umVangati house. As we got there we could not believe how beautiful this house is. The house is surrounded by the great view of the Blyde river canyon, and you see nothing but that all around you. The house is so well design - everything was up to the top. We stayed at the villa, which is 75 meters from the main house, large and well equipped villa. The balcony was facing the pool where the animals come to drink from and we saw many of them. The hostsand their children were so kind and helped with what we asked for. Breakfast was served on the huge balcony of the main house and we loved it very much, a lot to select from. The umVangati is about 50 min drive to the Kruger park via Orpen gate, beautiful drive. As for dinner, we ate the house on arrival date, and the other 2 nights we ate at Hoedspruit, and we recommend the Slippers restaurant. Our stay was great from first moment and we wished we could stay longer. We will definitely recommend this Lodge to our friends.

Review 31：This is absolutely the best hotel we've ever stayed in! The whole experience is very well thought out. After a steep climb in your car up to the driveway you are welcomed with a glass of cold drink on the magnificent terrace with view that will render you speechless for quite a while. After we've managed to pick up our jaws from the floor, we've been upgraded to a Suite which is surrounded by a bush and makes you feel as you were the only one there. Huge windows allowed to admire the mountains from every point of the house including a shower and a bath. It was also very comfortable and spotless clean, and wifi was working. Lidia and Giel are a marvellous hosts. At all times we felt very welcome and they met all our needs. Dinner was superb! There's also tons of other little things that we loved like the pool, wine cellar an water pool for wild animals that made the place look like from the movies. We only wished to stayed for one more night!

Review 33：The hosts Giel and Lidia gave us a very warm welcome in their spectacular house. The seperate "Mountain View Suite" which we had was a perfect closure of our holiday. The delicious dinner in the cellar was superb. So all in all a 100% recommendation. Still not very well known but i am sure that that will change quickly. Thanks again Lidia and Giel

Review 34：We liked everything! The scenery is breathless and made us emotional to see the wonderful mountains and nature. The accommodation is absolutely beautiful. Wonderful hospitality. The hosts were perfect and made us feel welcome and special. Fantastic food... We couldn't ask for anything more. We also went on the nearby Blyde River and tea garden with views that is priceless. We are so grateful to have experienced this and can't wait to be back to share with our family and friends. It is a must see and will recommend to anyone.
