Reviews for Olde Harbour Inn
Review 1:We do not have any complaints.
Review 2:My husband and I truly enjoyed our stay and will most likely return. We loved the size of the room and the character of it. Oh and the cheese and wine.
Review 3:On our way to hotel called 3 numbers to get directions [it's tricky to find] and no-one picked up. Upstairs TV didn't work.
Review 4:Great location [but be aware of noise]. One of the most comfortable beds I have ever slept in [I'll pay a lot again for a room with a bed of similar quality]. Room had lots of space. Breakfast was decent.
Review 5:I unfortunately could hear my neighbor above me very easily through the ceiling. The pillows on the beds seemed to be of low quality as well. These are minor complaints and overall I really enjoyed my stay.
Review 6:Very friendly and courteous staff. Amenities were nice, and hotel was very clean.
Review 7:Being so close to River Street meant that we could also hear street noises. We solved that problem with a white noise at on my phone.
Review 8:We loved our roomy suite overlooking River Street, with separate living area, kitchen, bath, and bedroom. The staff was very friendly and helpful in every way. The breakfast was excellent, as was the cocktail hour, and lovely little ice cream treat left in our room each night.
Review 9:No curtains on the windows. The venetian blinds not enough tho keep out the light from the street lamps.
Review 10:Staff friendly. Liked the gesture of Klondike Ice Cream bars left in the freezer to enjoy at the end of the day. Wine and cheese in the evening also nice.
Review 11:It was a bit difficult to locate the main entrance, as it is in the back of the building on a one-way street. In order to unload, we had to go down the back alley (which is cobblestone and bumpy), and then park a block away and walk back on the cobblestones (which may not be an issue for some). Our room was on the second floor, which meant that we had to go outside and down a flight of stairs to get to the lobby/breakfast area. For anyone with mobility issues, this is not the place to stay. The room was very spacious except for the bathroom, which didn't have any counter space to put toiletries, nor hooks for wet towels. The breakfast was nice, but had the same offerings both mornings- no variety.
Review 12:The location was pretty convenient to the historic district, restaurants, shops, and tours. The beds were very comfortable, and the rooms had nice character and were spacious- not typical hotel style.
Review 13:It was easy to hear our neighbors, both above and on either side of us, walking and talking. Not pleasant. Sometimes it was as if they were in the room with us!
Review 14:It is a quaint location with a very responsive and courteous staff. The breakfast was more than the usual "free breakfast" fare. The location, while on the river, was a fair walk to most of the sites.
Review 15:First time in Savannah. The location was perfect for exploring the River Street shops and restaurants and convenient for walking to the Historic District for sightseeing. We had a perfect weekend.
Review 16:I did not have a bad experience but the bathroom was not well equipped with enough hooks or storage for two people.
Review 17:The staff was great and very helpful.
Review 18:"Overlooks the river" is a bit of a misnomer...we had one regular window in one bedroom that viewed the river, no window at all in other bedroom. Other windows were next to sidewalk where anyone could look in.
Review 19:Very helpful, friendly staff.
Review 20:The staff is top notch and bent over backwards to make our stay terrific. The gal who checked us in actually moved her car so we could park in her space, ensuring free parking. They ROCK!
Review 21:Everything was just fabulous! The inn had such wonderful character, it's doesn't have that generic hotel feel. The nightly ice cream was a great touch. Seeing the ships passing from our room was so neat.
Review 22:The bathroom floor tiles were filthy and the light fixture over the sink had not been cleaned for years. The floors had dust balls all over and the corners were dirty.
Review 23:Location, wine and cheese and breakfast. The room was huge but the furniture(couch and chair arms were very dirty.
Review 24:We had a wonderful experience and would not change a thing....except lighten up on the house cleaning detergent. It is overwhelming & does not make for a welcoming fragrance introduction.
Review 25:All of the staff were excellent, top notch and could not have been more professional !! Our room was beautiful & well located at the Inn.
Review 26:Suite was dirty. Ice maker did not work. Hairs in bathtub and on sheets when arrived. TV required maintenance two times during stay. Housekeeping nonexistant
Review 27:Location was good.
Review 28:The staff members at Old Harbour Inn were great! They exemplified Southern Hospitality. Our Granddog got a friendly welcome and was given a "doggie bag" with goodies upon check in. Their breakfast buffet was good as were the evening cordial get togethers. I miss the Klondike bars in the freezer at night already! We hope to be able to return in the near future. They are in the process of updating all their suites, so we hope to get a newly decorated one next time.
Review 29:Kitchen had no utensils at all The basement suite was very dark with no natural light
Review 30:Location was excellent Evening wine and cheese was great for socialising with other guests
Review 31:The staff was excellent. Wine & cheese event each evening was fabulous and provided an enjoyable time for guests to meet and socialize. Every detail was planned perfectly including our ice cream treats placed in the freezer for us each night. Thank you for making our trip so special! We will be back!
Review 32:Had to park a couple of blocks away in a designated parking lot.
Review 33:Location was great! Staff was very friendly. Loved the view of the river from the balcony.
Review 34:There was a dog staying in the room next to ours and when it walked around and it's toe nails clicked on the floor it sounded just like it was in our room. The walls were thin and we could hear people talking in the room next to ours.
Review 35:The room was wonderful, large and comfortable. The location was great. It was within walking distance of everything we wanted to see.
Review 36:We were close to river front to which I really wanted. Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. Kevin was a great help in getting our belongings to our room. Thanks Kevin!
Review 37:The A/C system did not cool the bedroom adequately (warm). Other areas were fine. Needs a ceiling fan. Sinlge pain window did nopt block out street noice.
Review 38:the staff was very nice and attentive to our needs
Review 39:The bed was small and pillows were uncomfortable but that's all subjective to personal taste. The walls also seem very thin and we could hear our neighbors next door sometimes as if we were all in the same room.
Review 40:the staff especially Erika and William were awesome and made us feel like we were at home as soon as we walked in the door. The breakfast everyday was great as well as the lemonade served daily in the lobby. You just can't beat the location if River Street and historic district proximity is important to you. We will definitely be returning and would recommend this to anyone looking for something different than your normal hotel.
Review 41:There was a steep flight of stairs that had to be navigated to get to our rooms. The parking was quite a distance away. One of our friends has difficulty walking so these factors made the trip difficult for him.
Review 42:It was fun to see the ships go up the river.
Review 43:That we couldn't stay longer.
Review 44:The location was perfect. The Inn itself is like a trip into the past. On a cobblestone street, nestled between busy River Street and E.Bay Street. Just perfect.
Review 45:nothing maybe if anything the Cost...
Review 46:Kevin was GREAT !!! He went out of his way to help with a car problem. Guided us to car parking... Made extra coffee for us. girls at front desk were helpful and friendly.l
Review 47:The bathroom and kitchen could use an upgrade. Adjacent parking area had a lot of trash, not sure if the property is responsible but not a great first impression.
Review 48:Very spacious suite and great location.
Review 49:No bad experiences at all!
Review 50:I liked that we were able to walk down a flight of stairs and be right on River Street. The staff was fantastic! So helpful and friendly.
Review 51:The staff was lovely - helpful and friendly. They gave us wonderful suggestions on where to eat, arranged a pick-up for the trolley tour, made our stay easy and sweet.
Review 52:No bad experience whatsoever.
Review 53:Very welcoming. It was our first time at the Inn and the way the staff treated us you would think we had been coming for years. Newly remodeled room was great too.
Review 54:Full kitchen with our room but there was no cookware, dishes, or utensils included so its usefulness was very limited.
Review 55:Perfect location; very large, comfortable room; great breakfast, extremely nice staff; limited but on-site parking.
Review 56:Breakfast was not too good, but hey we can't have it all. We wouldstay again. Thank you
Review 57:Location was amazing. Easy to walk to everything.Cheese & wine is abrilliant idea. It makes all guest talk to each other. Lovely touch.Receptionist was fantastic. I lost my camera charger and she phonedaround to locate a Nikon. She then asked them to stay open until wearrived. And they did. She ( I don't know her name ) was a brilliantadvert for your hotel.
Review 58:Bedding torn-not changed, rug old always looked dirty, view sucked, sewer smell after down pour, parking not always available, delivery trucks passing at all hours, windows filthy
Review 59:Porter staff were very nice.
Review 60:don't be surprised by the horns of the enormous container ships passing by your window at 5.00am!
Review 61:great view over the river. Riverside bars and restaurants just there. easy walk to the picturesque parks and shopping in Broughton St. huge rooms beautifully furnished. full kitchen.
Review 62:Breakfast was the se everyday
Review 63:Breakfast every morning ...5:30 wine and cheese and icecream was put in our freezer every night... great location and excellent large 2 story 2 bedroom
Review 64:We had a great stay at the Inn. Super accommodating staff, and as for a "continental breakfast"......well, eggs, bacon, grits, pastry, cereal, fruit, sausage......a full breakfast to us!
Review 65:The walls are a little thin and the neighbors woke me with opening and closing of the doors each morning.
Review 66:The hotel is gorgeous! Beautifully designed with spacious rooms. Awesome location just steps away from River walk. Kevin got our bags to the room while we got tons of good information from the lobby staff. Breakfast each morning was hot and fresh, with wine and cheese at night...added bonus ice cream delivered to each room at night! I think this may be a reoccurring trip!
Review 67:Hair in three different spots in bathroom, spots on carpet, holes insofa upholstery and really nasty grout. River view in room 303 waslimited at best....a diagonal view from the bedroom. Came back to myroom that afternoon with the door wide open, where housekeeping had leftit I guess. I'd stay here again if there were no other options inthis price range but that particular suite needs updating badly.
Review 68:Perfect location but parking is tough. Staff very friendly, especiallyKevin the bellman.
Review 69:The foghorns at 3 and 4 in the morning.
Review 70:The big rooms and the staff went out of there way all the time to help. TLoved the wine and cheese event each night which let us mingle with other guest.
Review 71:We had a spacious, well-appointed apartment with river views on 2 sides! Terrific hot breakfast. Although we did not attend the wine-tasting, others said it was very nice. We extended our stay because we enjoyed it so much. This is now our go-to place in Savannah!
Review 72:The horns on the tugboats nearly blew us out of bed twice!
Review 73:The friendliness of the staff! Location of property is so convenient to downtown and Market street!
Review 74:The location was beautiful. We took a nature walk with a shell museum staff member and learned about the various shells which was fascinating. The restaurant was really excellent. We enjoyed the music and dancing during our dinner. As it was Valentine's Day, each lady received a long stem rose, which was a nice touch.
Review 75:Parking to check in was a puzzle since the only street level unloading area was blocked by a delivery truck and weissed it. Oncew e found the ramp level we were in a prime parking area. All is good
Review 76:The room was much more than comfortable, it was spacious, more than clean, elegant and casual at the same time. Cocktail hour as part of the stay allowed us to meet interesting guests and exchange ideas of where to go, etc.
Review 77:Beds are a little on the old side....we stayed in end rool closest to the port and it was a noisy at night.
Review 78:It was nice. Could have used more seating for the 4 of us in the living space but overall good experience...clean and friendly. be prepared to leave tips (staff are expecting). ...wish we would have known, we would have had more cash in hand...
Review 79:did not like the people that must have worked at joes crab shack who rode a golf cart or something like it at midnight or later up and down the street. needless to say it was very loud.
Review 80:the location was great.rooms were very clean. had a kitchen, large closet, nice bath with a good shower. easy acess to a lot of great resturants and shops on the river front.
Review 81:The outside road noise was a little loud, and the light on the river side of the suite was bright. Could use room darkening curtains on that side. Other than that we loved the suite.
Review 82:Loved this hotel. It was clean and pretty, and the arrangement of the suite was great. Our hot water wasn't working in the shower, and the staff quickly gave us access to the next room so we didn't have to pack up all our things.
Review 83:would have appreciated an email giving specific instructions for finding hotel and parking - a bit tricky on multilevel cobblestone streets....
Review 84:Fantastic location right on the river and walking distance to all. Very comfortable beds, very spacious with upstairs loft. Loved reading on tiny balcony overlooking the river. Wine and cheese a special treat.
Review 85:The people in the bed on the mezzanine floor had to come down to the bathroom Having to go outside and down metal stairs to reception and dining room in the rain. But staff gave us umbrellas.
Review 86:Staff. Rooms. Practically no noise from road. Ice creams delivered each evening.
Review 87:The only problem I saw was that the floors seemed to be a bit dirty in the rooms.
Review 88:My family and my husband and I all stayed at The Olde Harbour Inn this past weekend for our wedding; and we found it lovely. The staff was excellent, the breakfast was good, and the location and size of room were perfect. We were not lacking space or convenience.
Review 89:Pretty much everything; our suite was very comfortably furnished from the living area to the bedroom - bed very comfortable (suite 204); very quiet setting; breakfast was fresh and delicious and offered good variety; the early evening wine and refreshments were a delight every day; loved the proximity to both the riverside as well as the Historic District - within walking distance to everything;
Review 90:There are no internal corridors. All rooms are accessed from outside old metal stairs and bridges through the rain. It is very noisy and top floor rooms have wooden floors - you can hear a penny drop under them. Main access to hotel is via a service road with waste bins and refuse lorries.I am afraid I found the desk staff disinterested and not very competant - it took us 30 minutes to check out
Review 91:Location is very good and the space in rooms is large. Rooms are well appointed and comfortable.
Review 92:I have to say the only thing I did not like is the fact that I only spent one night there.
Review 93:For the money best hotel for size and location. The staff very friendly very acomadating. Waking up watching the boats go by was a nice start to the day.
Review 94:We weren't informed upon check in that we were being placed in the dog section where there were dogs in two adjoining rooms and therefore heard constant barking throughout the stay.
Review 95:The overall location of the hotel was good.
Review 96:What is there not to like you are walking distance to everything
Review 97:My wife and I had been to Savannah a couple of times, but since we found the Olde Harbour inn. This will be our home away from home
Review 98:I hate that someone allowed them to put a restaurant between the hotel & the river. The view was wonderful - now not so much.
Review 99:This was my second stay- I would not stay anywhere else in Savannah. The staff is great & amenities always surpass expectations. I like the history that is obvious in the building and the proximity to River Street.
Review 100:The Olde Harbour Inn is located at the east end of the quay so that it is relatively quiet compared to some of the other accommodations in the area. We were pleasantly surprised by the large room space (more like an apartment than hotel) and the views of passing container ships out the window. The Inn is a short walking distance to most of the Savannah river attractions as well as many historic squares. The breakfast (included in rate) was adequate including hot items. Wine happy hour was a plus. Staff were very helpful and courteous. Would definitely stay here again.
Review 101:Bathroom floors could use better cleaning. Parking is an issue but nothing within the hotel's control. They do a good job of teaching and coaching guests. $12 parking pass is a great convenience.
Review 102:View is unbelievable with shipping activity on Savannah River going on right outside your bedroom window. Street traffic makes for great people watching but a little noisy early in the evening. Breakfast was really good and plentiful. Ice cream at "turndown" time is a nice touch. We'd go back.
Review 103:Parking for the hotel was slightly inconvenient and lacked any security. Staying by the river is not necessary and can be a nuisance with the noise from the street.
Review 104:The staff was very friendly. Breakfast variety was limited but sufficient. The bed was comfortable after long walks through the streets of Savannah.
Review 105:It is a hidden hotel right on River Street so the road to get there is a little tricky the first time. I suggest that you go to the Ole Harbour Inn web site and get their directions and not mapquest. Once you find the hotel, the next time is easy.
Review 106:The STAFF is awesome! The room was large and clean. It has a FULL-SIZE fridge, stove and microwave...a full kitchen!! The location is PERFECT to see all of the sights and shops! The hotel has so much history and is centrally located. The price was fair for the location and room amenities. The staff met us at our car and showed us where to park and took our bags upon our arrival. Breakfast was very good. Wine and cheese for free in the evenings was free flowing and awesome! I just can't say enough about the STAFF - all of the STAFF were very helpful, friendly and welcoming...LOVED this HOTEL! Within walking distance to nearly everything a tourist wants to see!
Review 107:Very minor but the bacon at breakfast is too thin and papering and thus no taste. As it is a pretty large kitchen with a full size fridge, some cutlery could in placed in the cutlery tray, even if they were to use plastic.
Review 108:Everything in a word. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Just beautiful. Quieter if you choose a suite with the bedroom facing Bray Street as it can get noisy on the River St side with late revelers.
Review 109:Hear right through walls Not allergy friendly Odd room layouts Joe's Crab Shack blocks water view from rooms
Review 110:Great historic building with character Easy access to River Street Nice and curteous staff Easy to park Pet friendly
Review 111:Hot & rainy, but that's because it was August in Savannah, not holding Olde Harbour Inn responsible!!
Review 112:Location, comfort, cleanliness, staff ...everything! Right on the riverfront-we walked everywhere, then slept soundly at night!
Review 113:Olde Harbour Inn was just wonderful. It was a great place to get away from home for a little while. My husband and I will certainly come again. We loved being so close to the river, watching the ships come in (Otis Redding), watching the people, shopping, eating and just having a relaxing time. Our place at the Inn was so comfortable and had the feel of "Old Savannah". The breakfasts were good and helped us start our day well. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who wants a nice getaway. We will certainly go back as well. See you there! War Eagle!
Review 114:Kevin rocked! He was very helpful from the moment I arrived until the minute I left. He was the only staff member I saw on a regular basis. The rest of the staff was very helpful but not as visible.
Review 115:Breakfast is a bit light on.
Review 116:The space of our unit and it's closeness to tours and restaurants. Happy hour each evening and an ice cream in our fridge each night.
Review 117:The bathroom fan was very noisy. Since it was on the same switch as the light, you can't have one w/o the other. The new "Joe's Crab Shack" blocks the view of the river for rooms on the 2nd floor, except 208 and 209. We had 208 and were partially blocked. Suggest a full length mirror in rooms.
Review 118:The room was very nice. Gives the flavor of the original purpose of the building without skimping on one's expectations of present day. Though offering access to the activity of River Street, it's at the east end so it's quiet.
Review 119:Let me say I have wood floors in my house so I know how much work they can be. But I found the wood floors in my room to be a bit dirty. I realize most people would not notice because they would have shoes on all the time. I however do walk around with out shoes. But other than the floor the room was very clean. And you could hear the people in the next room when they walked, (Wood floors)
Review 120:I thought the staff was wonderful. Very nice always spoke and answered any questions we had. Breakfast was good and the location was very good for my time there
Review 121:Not sure it was the best place for kids. It was a wonderful place. We were on the top floor. The two grandsons are typical boys. Not misbehaving at all but boys. We got a call from management about too much movement being complained about from the people below us. Maybe we would have been better off to have been in the ground floor. It was impossible to walk without fear of disturbing the people below us. Nobody was being rowdy. Just normal traffic by two teenage boys. The parking was also a problem. The staff was very helpful in getting our luggage to the room but we had to park a block away. Not convenient for coming and going at all.
Review 122:We loved everything
Review 123:no complaints
Review 124:i like the effortless transitions from car, to lobby, to our room (kevin made it seem effortless, at least). hand-held the staff were very friendly and personable, and always professional. kudos to the staff for helping us have a great vacation!
Review 125:The fridge wasn't cleaned before we got there. There was still stuff left from the people who stayed before us.
Review 126:Loved the place. The staff was reall nice and they even put a bottle of champagne and ice cream in our room when i told them it was our first anniversary. You can't beat the location either, right on the river.
Review 127:Nothing really.
Review 128:The 1 bedroom suite was impressively comfortable and spacious. It had many extras in the living room and kitchen. The nightly Ice Cream was a small but hugely welcome touch. Breakfast was self service and easily accessible with a decent range of options.
Review 129:The bed was rather uncomfortable.
Review 130:The wine and cheese evening was delightful. The breakfast area was light and bright. The staff was extremely helpful.
Review 131:The entre way to our room was never cleaned or swept.
Review 132:This was an excellent room for the cost. The value was great. We had the best anniversary ever!
Review 133:We were in our room one morning when maid needed in and she forgot to come back so the next day we called because our trash was overflowing and I think there was a miscommunication because that's all they did. We had the same coffee cups for the whole time, I don't know if that's customary or not.
Review 134:The location was very convenient to everything, we just walked to almost everything we did. The room was like being at home. Ice cream was a great touch we were just to full to eat it, we didn't have 1 bad meal in Savannah.
Review 135:There were children above us and we could hear them running around. Kids are great but if you're looking for a romantic getaway this may not be a good choice as it seems to attract couples with kids. Or at least make your request known upon reservation.
Review 136:breakfast was decent but could have been a little more exciting. I liked the wine and cheese in the evening. It was nice to network with other guests.
