Reviews for Aochalong Villa Resort & Spa

Review 1:Location is really far from main street... Once your in the main streetit takes a significant walk to a nearest 7 eleven Since all taxis herestart from at least 20p bhat this location makes for a very expensivestay which is not taken into consideration in the hotel's price...Which was over priced as far as we're concerned. We found adifferent hotel which was prettier offered better view awesome poolwith lower cost and free shuttles everywhere not only main road! (Backand forth)...

Review 2:The pool was nice..

Review 3:Do not order their on site massage, it's very bad… Actually I am pretty disappointed about Thai massage (not so good, I think my masseuse in Beijing is the best :p ) Also there's a few bugs in the room, ants in the sink when it's dry, which is ok, didn't see any cockroaches or nasty rats. Although it's right by the beach, but it's not the kind of beach that you can do your sun bathing and swim there, hotel provides daily shuttle bus to Kata Beach, leave at 1pm, back to hotel at 5pm, which requires reservation in 1 day advance at the reception.

Review 4:nice beach view villa with everything you need: living room, mini bar, comfy couch, TV, Air-con in the whole room, outdoor balcony with nice chairs and a coffee table where you can smoke if you are a smoker, and it's right by the swimming pool, a rack (on the balcony) which you can hang your laundry, asian style bedroom, big wardrobe enough for two ppl's summer t shirts, shorts, etc. I really appreciated that they separate the toilet and shower. My fiancé and I were going there for diving, this hotel is 5 minute drive by minivan to Chalong Pier, which is perfect for our commute to the Pier so we can go on the boat daily in the morning with barely no traffic and it only takes few minutes(the same when we're back to the Pier and transfer to this hotel ). Staff are local Thai, very friendly and nice. They also provide free bikes for usage, which is very convenient for us, we bike everyday after we come back for diving, to some local restaurants for dinner, it saved time, thumbs up! (the hotel is located right by the beach, so it's around 15-20 mins walk to the main road)

Review 5:Had only good experiences

Review 6:The place was beautiful with a relaxed atmosphere with attention given to lots of details. The staff was exeptionally helpful and pleasant. We enjoyed ourselves so much that we extended our two nights reservation with three more. The slight isolation was corrected by the free shuttle to and from the beach every day and the free shuttle any time to the mainroad. The restaurent was good and the pools lovely.

Review 7:It would have been helpful if they provided an information book in the room which includes number to call eg for room service, reception etc also how to use the safe and other helpful info.

Review 8:Friendly and helpful staff. Ambient setting, 2 lovely swimming pools, one in a garden setting and the other with a wonderful view of Chalong bay. I had 6 nights there and found it to be the perfect spot to chill out. The yacht club next door does a great meal.

Review 9:Nothing, all was perfect.

Review 10:Wonderful hotel, very clean and perfect location to chalong and Phuket, plenty of restaurants also near all martial arts and the pier! Customer service was amazing, couldn't do enough to help- Steve (the manager) was so helpful and even sorted out the ferry to phi phi for us, and reminded us to do so. Also helped point us in the right direction for good quality motorbike rental. Nothing was too much trouble. Lovely atmosphere of an evening sat by the pool with a cocktail.

Review 11:If just want stay at the resort all day it's great but you need to get a taxi to where ever u want to go eg shopping. It would be nice if they had a free shuttle bus

Review 12:Stev the Manager was brilliant It was great to have someone who spoke and understood fluent in English. Also he had same great suggestion of what to do

Review 13:The accusing also they don't rent motorbikes you have to rent else where

Review 14:Very nice hotel, we have travelled many times to Thailand backpacking style and luxury. We would defo stay here again, although they did try to accuse us of taking two pool towels which was very disappointing! Felt like it was just to gain money! Otherwise good hotel

Review 15:Isolated and the beach is not swimmable. If you just want to sun tan at the pool, it is ok, as is the restaurant. You have to take a bus or taxi to visit anywhere.

Review 16:The breakfast, and the wonderful lady who does the massage.

Review 17:Steve who is one of the managers there is possibly the most helpful man on the Earth. He made us feel welcome and helped us with pretty much everything during our stay. It's worth going all the way to Thailand just to have a beer with Steve. Legend!!!

Review 18:The room was a bit small and outdated furniture

Review 19:The staff was super friendly especially the manager who drew us a hand drawn map of the best local places to visit! Definitely the highlight of our trip to Chalong

Review 20:Located far from stores, bars and restaurants, some times it's hard to go to the hotel by taxi or tuk tuk, because nobody knows where is it.

Review 21:Nice,green territory. Seeming pool is also good. Room was old but looked nice and got everything you need in it.

Review 22:The beach was dirty not much of a beach I told the front desk about the blood stains on my bed sheet and all they said was please for me what a joke

Review 23:Nothing

Review 24:breakfast is poor, Wifi is very slow

Review 25:both swimming pools, view on the see

Review 26:Great place!!!

Review 27:Very beautiful territory of the hotel. Relaxing.

Review 28:Not so clean area

Review 29:Steve the orical of Phuket:)

Review 30:A bit out of the way and small rooms

Review 31:Had a taxi driver on hand

Review 32:Most things were a taxi or bike ride away.

Review 33:Very helpful and friendly staff.

Review 34:Loved this hotel, but do not book with booking.com!!!!

Review 35:Sometimes the wifi didn't work in the room but it wasn't too much of a problem.

Review 36:The pool overlooking the beach was amazing!

Review 37:Pool

Review 38:seaside

Review 39:swiming pool +view + room + servise is verry good thank you for takecare us we will come again soon

Review 40:Long walk to the road

Review 41:Lovely large room, great swimming pool,we liked it all, and will go back

Review 42:It was clean The staff were friendly.

Review 43:Shower problem - cannot control water temperature.

Review 44:Staff Entertainment Pool

Review 45:roomy, pools is great, clean, frendly, good englis spiking

Review 46:It was hard to get anywhere on foot. No beach access to the pier.

Review 47:The room. The pool.

Review 48:Away from the main road and shops.

Review 49:Lovely clean place. Staff very helpful.

Review 50:Staff, location, food, value!!

Review 51:impressed with all; well running hotel with a stunning view. just not enough time to see all

Review 52:This felt quite out the way when I was expecting to be centrally located. It was very hard to find a taxi on the main road, unless I used the hotel taxi which was slightly more expensive. I think my perspective my be slightly warped as I traveled during the low season and it was a lot quieter than expected. Overall this place is great and very romantic and serene.

Review 53:I loved this hotel, it's beautiful, lovely remote location and about a 10 minute drive into Phuket town. If you are the get up and go sort of person this isn't centrally located.

Review 54:Location. 3 minute walk to Chalong pier??? Only when tide was out. 15 minute walk to closest shop, decor very dated and bed is on the floor. Don't believe advert!!

Review 55:It was quiet mainly because no one else was there!

Review 56:I can't think of anything.

Review 57:totally relaxed at the end of my travels. the pool was great & the staff attentive. my room comfortable with a nice en-suite. nice gardens & smelling full of frangipani.

Review 58:- 10 minutes footwalk to other Restaurant - dirty ocean, no swimming - Hotel Restaurant to expensive

Review 59:- nice pool and great garden - near chalong Pier, good for daytrips - oceanview - friendly personal

Review 60:Nothing.

Review 61:Welcoming and helpful staff. Friendly, felt safe and looked after. Pool and area clean good views nice outlook. Helpful advice re other local sites and facilities. Good local cafés/restaurants. Other places of interest easily accessible.

Review 62:The room layout was a little odd because we had a large window behind our bed.

Review 63:The staff were lovely, helpful and always welcoming. Great location, close to everything.

Review 64:Husband got food poisoning from breakfast buffet, restaurant ran out of bananas (in Thailand!?!?) and when we left restaurant there was a bunch of bananas hanging near the entrance, lots of mosquitos EVERYWHERE including in the room! Not really near anything. We had to rent a motor bike to get around to beaches and places of interest.

Review 65:Infinity pool was nice as well as the garden pool, tropical/jungle feel, restaurant had a wide variety of menu options

Review 66:the food was average or less the beach and the sea in front of the hotel are dirty, you can't swim

Review 67:almost everything: pools, staff, massage, gardens, decorations, rooms, cleanliness!

Review 68:Room service food was awful. The double bed was two single mattresses placed together on two tables.... Pretty uncomfortable. The bathrooms are also very poorly designed... The water from the shower floods the entire bathroom

Review 69:The pool and location were good. Food and drink reasonably price and good facilities. The breakfast in the morning was fantastic and the staff were pretty helpful.

Review 70:Do not go for the Villas with ocean view because only 2 out of 6 Villas with ocean view actually have the real ocean view. The rest of them have a main over the swimming pool. It is definitely not worth the extra money IMO

Review 71:All in all we had a very good 2 night stay at this hotel. I would not recommend it for a longer visit though because it is quite isolated and you cannot go in to the ocean from their beach, simply because it is not clean enough. The breakfast was very good and we enjoyed their a la cart menu as well. Staff were very friendly and facilities are all very good considering the price. The location is acceptable and even more so if you want somewhere quite, however it is not one of the most beautiful locations on Phuket. I would recommend a local restaurant which is located 10 min walk away to the right when you come to the main road. It is on the other side of the road and mostly Thais eat there. They have a very price worthy (150 baht) and good food. You choose your own raw food on the buffet and cook it directly at your table.

Review 72:I like the mosquitos, the smell and the location is not great.

Review 73:The staff are very friendly and I like the Guiltiest at the restaurant. He is really good and it create a good ambient in the restaurant.

Review 74:could improve by having some halal foods..

Review 75:i have to comment all the staffs there for their excellent service and response when i checked out and realised that i've left my i pad at the room.with just a call the staff swiftly arranged for it to be returned at the airport in just an hour..bravo..

Review 76:I loved our seaview villa, the pool, the view, the restaurant, the food... Everything as expected. Hope to return again. Great place for people who would like to relax. It's recommended to rent a car/motorbike because it is pretty far from everything and cabs are very expensive.

Review 77:The beach was not for swimming, quite far away from everything, you have to walk fro 15-20 minutes to get to the nearest restaurant, bars and pubs are located ca 20-25 minutes away. Breakfast could be a little bit better. And also there is issue with beach towels: at the check out they wanted to charge us extra, because one of towels from our room disappeared (cleaning lady's fault) so they were solving this problem for at least 25 minutes.

Review 78:Very nice hotel in the middle of nowhere. Amazing pool. Nice staff. At the reception you can ask about the excursions and trip they could organize for you - it's convenient and not expensive. Great banana milk shake which you can drink being in the pool.

Review 79:The staff are incompetent, rude, and careless. The whole place is run down, and in dire need of a new owner manager. It is very expensive for what you get.

Review 80:The location is very good, the swimming pools are nice.

Review 81:The hotel was very poorly maintained, everything was either dirty, cheap or broken. We had a very short stay and instantly regretted being there. It is also a long walk t There facilities are disgustingly dirty, the staff (with the exception of Steve) are rude and treat you like an inconvenience and the pools/beach are dreadful. Anybody looking for a relaxing stay should avoid this hotel, and Chalong, completely.

Review 82:Nothing at all. Dirty, difficult to get to and nothing like the photos on the website!!

Review 83:I hate 2 Things there, mosquitoes & the street connected to mainroad always under construction & muddy.

Review 84:I been there for 12 nights and really liked my staying over thereFantastic staff too much helpful, they guide us for good places tovisit. Special thanks for fantastic staff

Review 85:Room allocation was not organised. We we're supposed to get front sea view room. Didn't get that as per online booking. Too far from airport. Hotel takes % of money when they book taxi.

Review 86:Friendly staff ... Good room Service .... Good hotel service

Review 87:It was relaxing, quiet away from the noise of city life. The staff were all friendly and Steve was very helpful and went out of his way to tell you about the area and what to do.

Review 88:- sea - very dirty, not for swimming - very stinky due to waste water channel around resort (3 out of 9 days) - construction noise from refurbishment inside resort (until 8pm) - traffic situation in Chalong

Review 89:- swimming in huge pool - nice bar with good food in Ao Chalong Yachtclub 150m away

Review 90:Super location on the sea and amazing pool. Chalong bay is a nice and quiet place to stay, with not too many tourists, and close to the port with boats going to Phi phi Islands. Hotel super clean, the front beach bungalows were amazing and cheap. Staff friendly, and and english Guy working there is very helpful and advised us all the tricks and places to go un the area. Rental bikes just besides, very handy

Review 91:Watch mosquitoes in the yard

Review 92:The resort is designed romantic. They have a lots of lovely details. Greens are everywhere and swimming pools are beautiful.

Review 93:No negatives

Review 94:Everything was wonderful! We found Aochalong very relaxing and just what we needed after the bustle of Kata Beach. Great staff, great surroundings, beautiful view across to the islands, two pools, very clean, very friendly. Steve is a great help with local information etc. Would definitely recommend.

Review 95:Mosquitos in the room Rude Saff Staff speaks poor English Slight walk/drive to reach the hotel on very bumpy road

Review 96:Wi Fi connection throughout the hotel; poolsie, driveway to hotel, etc..

Review 97:Bed been no very flat, hot water in bathroom fast ended and I waited liltime while water will go warm again about 1-2 minuts with soapy head, and been in my room lil ants

Review 98:Very nice beautiful grounds of the hotel, fountains, pools, plantings, paths, small architectural statues, just lovely, I am sorry that soonerturned off the lights at the pools and fountains. Good staff, tastyfood, was clean anitime. Near nice sea great view but that beach no soclean, better go on Caron that no far and clean, if u prefer swim insalt water) we had nice view from balcone on Big Budda and mountains, nofar pier, shops, bars, cafes

Review 99:the location didnt really suit our purposes and lots of mosquitoes. i thought the spa/massage prices were too high compared to those in patong, karon and kata

Review 100:all the staff without exception were fabulous and extremely helpful, rooms were very clean, the gardens were lovely as was the pool area

Review 101:The rooms we first were given so we had to upgrade at extra cost andbreakfast was very poor...not a lot of choice and flies were aboutallover the food...we would not return...staff need to learn basiccleaniness skills when handling food.

Review 102:The authenticty of the place and the nearnees of other facilities suchas shops and eating places.

Review 103:Sea not suitable for swimming. Bad beach. A bit too far away from main road. They tried to get us to pay extra for towels that we supposedly lost. This have apparently happened to several other visitors. Stupid!

Review 104:Nice pools Nice restaurant Cosy surroundings

Review 105:The beach is not for swimming. Fortunately, there are 2 pools. For those that want to travel around, it will be wise to rent scooter.

Review 106:The place is away from the town and main road. It is very relaxing for those that want to chill around.

Review 107:-have a private beath in the hotel but is not suit for swimming because the water is not clean

Review 108:-WIFI很给力;-位置离查龙码头很近;-工作人员算热情;-酒店环境很不错,两个泳池很好;-WIFI is good every where in the hotel;-near by the Chalong pier;-service is warmth;-environment is excellent and I love the 2 swimming pools

Review 109:Staff were excellent and went the extra mile. Nothing was too muchtrouble. Their guest relations manager, Steve, should be congratulatedon his people skills and helpful manner. Well done to him and all thestaff. Located in a quiet corner of Phuket there are still plenty ofplaces close by to visit.

Review 110:No transparency in charging city tours and cruises. Other travelcompanies were providing much cheaper city tours almost 50% lesser.

Review 111:The resort had two awesome pools and a private beach although muddy.

Review 112:Put 3 people into a very tiny room that should only fit 2 people, ended up having 2 beds next to each other crammed against the wall Got over charged for a dirty towel 250 baht for something that would have cost less than 50. Dont touch the fat cat Moo moo, it has temperment issues

Review 113:The customer relationship man Steve was amazing. He cuts out the crap that you find at most resorts/hotels to provide a service to his guests that is amazing and above and beyond expectations. We only had 1 full day in Phuket and because of Steve we were able to fit more in than we would have thought Staff are actually friendly and helpful Good movie channel

Review 114:You need a motorbike for everything but it is ok from my side.

Review 115:Excellent Staff (especially Steve). Excellent Location 2 Big Buddha, Viewpoint, Kata, Rawai, Port, monkey school etc. You need a motorbike for everything.

Review 116:At 2pm the sea is approximately 1km away from the beach. Beach is not very clean once the sea is gone.

Review 117:The room was great, beds were very comfortable. The staff was always ready to help. Nice pools. The hotel is nearby many accomodations, so well situated in a not too touristic place.

Review 118:The food was very average, thankfully yacht club next door excellent. Also cheap eating on main road with better food. Can not swim at the beach as it a large mud flat but the pool is lovely and the view is so peaceful.

Review 119:The view was beautiful over the pool to the sea, speckled with yachts. Steve customer service manager made us feel welcome and our stay enjoyable. His exceptional local knowledge was so valuable. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Golf cart to main road was essential.

Review 120:The room was amazing! Very spacious! The swimming pool was excellent!Very Nice place although Forget the swim in the see... The water wasvery dirty! Apart from that I Would recommend this place!

Review 121:The location wasn't what I expected there was no beach as Ida'ssaid in there advertisement, it was more of a mud flat. The bed was likesleeping on a potatoe sack filled with stuffing, there was nothingcomfortable about it. The shower pressure was none existent and so wasthe hot water.

Review 122:The staff were very friendly and did there best to cater to every needand request.

Review 123:What is a shame is that the breakfast was really poor as well as the fact that the opening hours of the pool last until 7 is too restricted.

Review 124:Staff was very friendly and helpfull, especially the relations manager steve was very good at giving tips and helping out.

Review 125:Breakfast is poor. Little fruit for breakfast, tea and coffee is very liquid. The beach is not suitable for swimming because the sea is shallow and muddy bottom.

Review 126:The hotel is located on the coast. 2 swimming pools. One of them with a beautiful view of the sea and the fountains. The hotel grounds are green and cozy. We had a room in a villa near the restaurant. The room is large with two areas and a terrace with seating. Away from the other hotels, in a quiet residential area, so there is no tourist crowds. The hotel staff is very friendly and always willing to help. Special thanks to Steve for the invaluable advice, friendly participation and help)))

Review 127:The location is abit far from main road, good thing hotel provide free pickup and drop off at main road. But best is still rent own vehicle during the stay to get around.

Review 128:Great place to escape from the crowded beaches like Patong. Relax and explore other places of interests like Wat Chalong, the Big Buddha, Rawai beaches and the southern parts of Phuket.

Review 129:The location - too far away from the main city. Spa is too expensive (almost double the rates of the main city). Pool shuts down by 7pm! Breakfast doesn't have much variety & is the same daily.

Review 130:The scenic view. The friendly staff. The 2 wonderful pools with fantastic views! Bikes on rent! Pretty cheap also.

Review 131:The room was basic, although clean. We had problems with the electric on many occassions and problems with insects/bugs.

Review 132:Most of the staff were extremely friendly. The price was good and the food excellent

Review 133:The rooms, the facility, the staff, the pool was filthy, the food wassub-standard. Nothing about this hotel was representative of theadvertising that booking . com provided. It is very obvious that Bookingdoes not research the facilities it represents. What a major disappointment. I left early and move to a nicer hotel.

Review 134:This place is a dump. I cannot believe that booking . com would list it.I will go to Agoda from on now. This hotel is a major scam and should bedemolished, even the location is more industrial suited. The beech is anon-existant mud hole with trash. The facilities are more suited to abackpacker hostel.

Review 135:Was advertised as beachfront, but was 3 condos back, barely a glimpse ofthe sea. Too far to walk to main road. Not for a solo traveller. Checkvilla b4 paying.

Review 136:Nice small resort.
