Reviews for Travellers Meeting Point

Review 1:The hostel was average but the elderly lading helping us was amazing! When she heard one of our guys coughing, she immediatly gave him medicine, she also did her best to help us all get in the room we preferred and got angry at our taxi driver when he showed up late. She made our stay great.

Review 2:Noisy due to a bar below the hostel but with earplugs everything was fine.

Review 3:Very cheap hostel with breakfast and a good location near to the city center. Perfect for a short stay but not very comfortable for "relaxing holidays".

Review 4:The kitchen is outside, so when the weather is cold it's freezing to cook there. The pressure for shower was poor except for one shower cabin:)

Review 5:We loved Dona Vina, the kindest person we've ever met:)

Review 6:The staff were amazing, in particular the little old lady who treated everybody like family and went out of her way to make sure everybody was comfortable and looked after. I stayed for a week and met such a wonderful mix of people, it's well located too - close enough to be a short walk to town but far enough out to be a bit quieter when you want to sleep! :)

Review 7:It was right on the street where drunks yelled and were loud until 4 in the morning, and there was no possibility of shutting the windows. The wifi didn't work in the room, and when I went to use it in the common area in the morning, I found the cleaning lady sleeping in there on the floor on the couch cushions. Super unprofessional and disgusting.

Review 8:The bar downstairs was owned by the hostel. It was ridiculously loud where your bed would shake from the base. A bit strange considering they own the hostel and don't seem to care about complaints regarding noise from the guests. Room 5 was where we stayed on the first night and asked to move, much better noise levels in other rooms, don't stay in room 5.

Review 9:The staff were nice, especially the older cleaning lady. She was so sweet and always trying to help (even without asking - she gets 100% rating :-) ) the breakfast was great and always stocked up. Nice terrace area.

Review 10:There was a lady who was there 24/7, she was the most kindest person ever! She was helping and worrying about everybody all the time, like a mother. Also the owner and other stuff was really helpful and friendly.

Review 11:no heating during winter. this is real problem! (ask for extra blankets!!!)

Review 12:Hugo is great rooms have space and beds are big enough even for 2meters guy excellent terrace and bbq area lot of opportunities to do in city with Hugo (owner)

Review 13:Nothing much, only the showers had a little pressure

Review 14:We had a nice time in the hostel. All the facilities were just fine, but the personnel was really kind! Saturday we did a cliff tour with Hugo, everybody was very happy in the end!

Review 15:Well, what could I say about this hostel? Only that it was wonderful to stay there! I have nothing to complain about the personal and the facilities (actually one of the bathrooms was not that clean… hehe). Hugo, the guy we meet when we make our check-in, is such a nice person! Really communicative, funny and , above all, crazy! He gives that place and that city a heart! Lagos wouldn’t have been the same if we hadn’t met him! Besides that, the woman who cleans the rooms is really nice, as well as Rute, the manager, I think. Everyone was really friendly there. The breakfast was included and delicious! Nothing could get any better. haha I miss Lagos a lot already, and specially the people we met there. Hope we’ll get to meet Hugo once more! Thanks’ a lot for our wonderful stay at your hostel!

Review 16:There wasn't much water/power from the showers. But other than that, there isn't anything else I could criticize!

Review 17:I checked into this hostel after I had a very horrible experience at Lagos Central Hostel. When I checked in I was greeted by Rute and Hugo at reception who were so lovely and helpful and sympathetic to my problems I had experienced at Lagos Central Hostel. They did everything to help me and make me feel at home. I'd even have to say they went out of their way to make my experience in Lagos a much better one. They gave me a very useful map of Lagos and helped me with directions of where to go for everything. The hostel is lovely, very clean, plenty of showers, great breakfast, very helpful staff, has a nice outdoors rooftop (very entertaining in the evenings). All the backpackers I met here were all very friendly, from all over the world and I ended up hanging out with lots of them and having a really fun time! I also checked out 'Adega Tipica Vaia Remos' which is Rute's restaurant which I'd highly recommend. They have delicious fish, meat, grilled food and amazing desserts! It costs just €5 by taxi from the hostel to get here as it's on the outskirts of Lagos. Well worth venturing out for! Upon check-out, the staff helped me figure out my train journey times to Faro airport and let me use their printer to print my boarding pass. I've been backpacking for a year and stayed in many different hostels and this was by far one of the best experiences I've had. Overall I'd give this hostel a 10/10.

Review 18:Not very clean. You can feel the dust and sand on the ground even when you're the first going into this room. No wifi on rooms range. Few electrical issues with connect points. All is a bit hold and in need to refurbish.

Review 19:Location is not bad and the staff always tries to compensate the rest and give their best.

Review 20:Wifi wasnt great.

Review 21:Excellent location and true hostel atmosphere. This is very much a hostel where to meet other young travellers and enjoy Lagos together in the evening. Nice terrace where to hang out and nice breakfast in the morning. The staff was friendly and helpful

Review 22:1. Unconfortable beds 2. Problems with the locks 3. Bad smell from bathrooms 4. The water from the shower flowed slowly 5. The breakfast was only packaged food

Review 23:1. Staff at your disposition

Review 24:They could decorate the place a bit better and give it more personality, walls are bare as are shelves etc. Terrace is nice though.

Review 25:The staff are fantastic. Hugo is very helpful and remembers everyone's name. There is also a cleaning lady who was so sweet - we had an awful snorer in our dorm, he was an absolute animal, and she gave us loads of blankets so we could sleep out on the terrace. She took us under her wing and made us really sad to leave.

Review 26:-A bit too basic, lacking simple stuff that could be added with little money (ex: Hangers in the bathroom - no place to hang the towel or clothes, Bedside lamps - essential when 4 people are sharing a room, avoiding the ceiling lamp to be turned on, Cookware and additional cooking hobs - only 2 hobs for the whole hostel means people have to wait a long time for their turn to cook, Tools to use the grill); -The fact they also have an apartment and may try to send you there, instead of the main building (the hostel).

Review 27:+Excellent location; +Friendly staff (especially the cleaning lady); +Private bathrooms; +Terrace and grill.

Review 28:Dorms were super tiny, should be cleaner, bad smell, 24hr partying people (but well, its Lagos)

Review 29:Excellent location in the center of Lagos and friendly staff, nice breakfast

Review 30:Very loud & dirty place. The staff is friendly but if you like a comfortable, peaceful and clean place, this hostel is not for you.

Review 31:no doublebedrooms

Review 32:staff - Hugo location feel of the place

Review 33:Amazing staff and amazing guests. I had the most amazing time here

Review 34:friendly staff, clean and cozy! cheerful company, excellent location!

Review 35:poor wifi connection in room

Review 36:terrase view, good location in historical area

Review 37:Great people, the right place to go and meet new friends. Fulfilling evenings and shared dinners.
