Reviews for Hyatt Regency Cleveland at The Arcade
Review 1:I liked the location and the great work with incorporating the hotel in a existing structure. The rooms were very clean and well kept. We really enjoyed the Christmas decore for the Holidays.
Review 2:There was a special event that closed off all of the Arcade and made it really difficult just to get to the room. Would have been nice to know half the hotel would be closed.
Review 3:Great location
Review 4:Stayed 2 nights one noght in suite and other in a single room. Toilet seat falling off of single and would not stay up on suite, ugly caulking job on tub, no glasses in suite, plastic bag in single used to tie tv.door back so it wouldnt close, and just other incidental things that were not in line with hotel expectations. Disapponted in Hyatt.
Review 5:Service
Review 6:Parking is a problem here. 30 dollars a day for valet, no other choice. And your car can take up to 30 minutes to arrive.
Review 7:Location is amazing! The hotel is very unique, historic building, nice staff, very clean, nice king size bed.
Review 8:Room needed some updates. It seemed to be difficult to keep the room at a consistent temperature.
Review 9:Location was great. Walking distance to the Browns stadium and casino. Right across the street from many good restaurants
Review 10:There were dishes in the hallway on the floor for 1 solid day. Leftovers from room service that were never cleared. Not a great impression, and kind of gross, really.
Review 11:The chicken wings at the 1890 were amazing. We ate there three times! The room was good!
Review 12:I was disappointed with the room for the amount of money that it cost to stay there. Wouldn't stay at the facility again unless a cheaper rate.
Review 13:The location was great.
Review 14:Had to keep asking for towels for 4 people although reservation specified 4. Late room cleaning (approx. 5pm).
Review 15:Room size was good. Showers were good size and plenty of water. View was beautiful.
Review 16:Personally felt the room was a bit overpriced, however I found the same room for less on Hyatt's own website after I had already booked through booking.com. I should have taken the time to shop more thoroughly.
Review 17:The unique design of this hotel is wonderful, staff was excellent, and the location is perfectly located within walking distance of all major landmarks.
Review 18:They apparently aren't fans of Booking.com. The guy checking me in had no idea what to do, complained about booking.com and then charged my card, then cancelled the charge but my bank continued to hold the money so when he tried to run it again, my card declined. Luckily the manager came over, checked us in without taking payment and let me work out the banking issue with the day manager the next morning.
Review 19:The location is perfect. Walked right out the back door and you are staring at East 4th street. With a bar, restaurant, spa, fitness center, and even special event area, everything is under one roof. The staff treats you very well. Everyone says hi and smiles, but that is Cleveland for you!
Review 20:There was no refrigerator in the room and the one they sent up was noisy. We asked for a room with a view, and got one overlooking a parking lot. We had to ask for the room to be made up, even after having been out all day, which meant they had plenty of time to do it. The room itself was bland and the upholstery on the chair wasn't clean. Room service left something off our order. Our server in the restaurant got our order wrong.
Review 21:The building is impressive, and I like that an historic space is being put to good use. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The location was in easy walking distance of good restaurants, rapid transit, and the Rock & Roll Hall, which was our destination.
Review 22:The fact that the property did not recognize the occasion…it was a celebration of a birthday. I notified the property prior to arrival. The staff seemed stressed. I had the same experience eleven years ago..thought I would give it a second try. Would not stay again and would try another property in same location downtown.
Review 23:I liked the proximity to downtown.
Review 24:Room quality didn't match hotel quality. The room was clean and nice, but the hotel itself seems 5 star - beautiful and luxurious, whereas the room itself was clean but basic.
Review 25:Hotel in general was lovely and high class.
Review 26:There was a wedding going on downstairs. We were asked to walk clear around the outside of the building to get to our room.
Review 27:location and quality of the room
Review 28:The crew is very bad and rude, especially my son was infected unwell healthy and heard the screams of my son who is 2 and threatened to tell the police why the four-star
Review 29:Very old-fashioned fabulous
Review 30:No microwave in room, did not have fitted sheets on the bed, room was small for the money we spent, no complimentary breakfast and room temperature was inconsistent
Review 31:Location, beautiful architecture and the view from the room :)
Review 32:The elevator and room cards did not work properly.
Review 33:Professional staff and their assistance from curb to room and return. Proximity to downtown entertainment and restaurants, casual and upscale.
Review 34:It's an expensive hotel with average facilities and tired decor. At the very least, breakfast should be included.
Review 35:The grand atrium is stunning. However, you do not need to stay at the hotel to see it.
Review 36:The room backed up to three elevators and we could hear them in the room. Three windows and our views were of a parking garage....a brick wall...and a roof top of machanical equipment.
Review 37:The staff was friendly and congenial. Central location in the city.
Review 38:it was either too hot or too cold in the room it made for difficulty sleeping
Review 39:the beds and pillows were great;valet was great they went to my truck and retrieved my phone charger for me when I forgot it in my truck. all staff was wonderful.
Review 40:Amazing, amazing staff and service. The room service food was incredible -- hot and fresh, really delicious local food options. I loved being able to have kielbasa in my omelette and pierogies on the side. The staff was friendly and really cared about my stay. The hotel has lovely historic rooms and the Arcade sparkles at night.
Review 41:The carpet in my room was very dirty (looked old and worn with lots of stains) and after my first night, housekeeping did not vacuum the room (I left a note the next day to vacuum and they did). Otherwise, it was a very enjoyable experience.
Review 42:Allison was extremely helpful and very professional when I checked in. She was great! My room was spacious, with high ceilings. I had a nice view of the libraries and the Brown's stadium and Lake Erie. It was great that I never heard the people in the adjacent room (good wall separation). Also, the location was perfect for being downtown with tons of restaurants and entertainment venues in close proximity.
Review 43:I booked this for my daughter and her friend. They were supposed to get a room that opened onto arcade, but they did not which was disappointing. The cleaning staff came into the room at 9:00, they were planning on sleeping in. Not sure why they came in on day they were checking out...
Review 44:The staff was very friendly. The room was very comfortable.
Review 45:The WiFi needs to be free - there was a $5 charge to obtain the "full" WiFi access. Now, I did call down because this fee was charged twice and they just took it off my bill all together which was great!
Review 46:The staff were very friendly, room was clean and large. The hotel itself was elegant and beautiful ... it is inside the oldest indoor mall in America - perfectly preserved.
Review 47:Key card for elevator was finicky sometimes.
Review 48:Historic building, nicely repurposed in a convenient downtown location for convention center. Stylish room with lots of windows (looking out to a parking structure). Atrium is a great alternative to typical hallways.
Review 49:At first we were put in a corner room with a view of the alley when we were supposed to have a view of the gallery.
Review 50:Staff handled our room change quickly and without the a fuss.
Review 51:curtains falling off wall , wedding on Saturday took over the lower floor unable to take pictures of our family like we wanted
Review 52:quite area during night hours, great room service prompt friendly staff most helpful, area isn't too safe lots of pan handlers
Review 53:Petty charges for water and parking. They should just be included in the price of the hotel.
Review 54:The location of the hotel was central to everything we wanted to see and do. The hotel itself, was stunning.
Review 55:They give you basic internet for free; $5 a day for "premium" and since the room price is premium I expect my internet for free. The bed in the room was not very comfortable; worse for my husband who has back issues. Also, I think they gave us the worse room in the hotel. We've been to this location many times before (made reservations directly) but this time the room felt sub-standard...could it be because I used Booking.com to make my reservation?
Review 56:The location was excellent...downtown Cleveland...walking distance to restaurants, bars and attractions. We had a great time there....love Cleveland.
Review 57:Deluxe King was reserved thru Booking.com. Upon arrival, we learned that the room set aside for us was a Queen double; we were offered and we accepted a $15 upgrade to Deluxe King, which is a nice room. However, this room was located adjacent to the outdoor utilities area, which became problematic when electrical power was lost during the night--through no fault of the hotel. The back-up generator kicked in and operated at a high frequency--thereby negatively affecting sleeping conditions. Fortunately, we came equipped with ear plugs which got us through the night.
Review 58:Friendly, helpful staff; convenient location; and a strikingly beautiful interior view of the Arcade.
Review 59:Power went out when I was getting ready to leave. Not easy showering in the dark
Review 60:The hotel staff were all very nice . We arrived early and they were very helpful in looking after our luggage
Review 61:Room had odor like a smoker had stayed there before, but the room was still awesome.
Review 62:Location perfect. Room very comfortable and clean. Old building and hotel but beautiful setting and the arcade is spectacular.I would stay here again. Super helpful and friendly staff.
Review 63:It would be nice for reduced parking rate for hotel residents. I think it was $25 a day for overnight, however if you only stay for three hours you'll still be charged $18 so that was the only downside.
Review 64:The staff gave a complimentary upgrade which started off things on a good note. The rooms were large and newly renovated, overlooking the beautiful Arcade.
Review 65:Unique building. Awesome location. We mentioned we were celebrating our anniversary and when we got back to the room, there was a gift waiting for us.
Review 66:Once we arrived at the hotel, we found out that every night during our stay that there will be a wedding going on in the arcade. The music was so loud. I wish I was aware of this prior to booking. Will not stay here again!
Review 67:Not much besides the location
Review 68:The pictures of the king room on the site are somewhat misleading and staff would only change the room for a "small"upcharge. I couldn't see paying even more for a two night stay so we stayed in the room which was very clean.
Review 69:I loved the main area of the hotel and the location to fun venues. The staff was friendly and for the most part helpful.
Review 70:The staff was very friendly at check in and check out. The hotel is in a wonderful location, close to all the action, but is a quiet oasis when you need to get away from all the hustle and bustle of 4th Street. The rooms are fresh and modern, and have been upgraded significantly since my last visit.
Review 71:All rooms face loud courtyard - windows are old and thin so expect to hear a lot of noise. Also, rooms next to or across from the elevators rattle all day/night long so expect no sleep in those rooms.
Review 72:Cool atrium and hang out space
Review 73:Very very quiet so no atmosphere. A lot of the retail outlets were empty. Despite being so quiet we were allocated a room that had not been upgraded - it looked nothing like the picture on booking.com
Review 74:Beautiful building. Excellent breakfast in 1890 restaurant.
Review 75:Because of the historic nature of the property, it has a few quirks for a hotel. Like, no continental breakfast or coffee in the morning, but there's a coffee stand in the Arcade. A few other cosmetic things about the room arrangements.
Review 76:I love the Arcade location, gorgeous and historic. Staff was fantastic. Room was comfortable and had everything I needed.
Review 77:The wallpaper was bubbling and the carpet was fraying. It wasn't an overly major issue, but for what we paid I expected better.
Review 78:We loved the location of the hotel, perfect for parking in the ramp & walking most places. The staff was extremely friendly as well.
Review 79:you must park car at nearby third party location which cost an additional $ 35! for the overnight park
Review 80:The hotel is great, very welcoming Victorian style environment, comfortable rooms with amenities nearby
Review 81:I had a great room that was equipped with everything I could want. It was modern, upscale, and the staff was wonderful. They gave me an early check-in, and accommodated any request. Definitely would stay there again.
Review 82:Cost was so-so. Breakfast was a mediocre breakfast burrito and a traditional egg breakfast with terrible coffee for $50
Review 83:Location is excellent. Room was very spacious and convenient to our plans.
Review 84:The TV was set up in an odd way that did not show what movies were playing in a manner that was clear or easy. The TV screen darkened when lights near it were turned off. It was a real pain in the butt.
Review 85:The staff was present and at your service
Review 86:The hotel is located in a very convenient location downtown. Our room was recently renovated, and was located in the beautiful, and historic Arcade section of the hotel.
Review 87:Hyatt knew nothing about the free valet parking or the free upgraded wi-fi. I was meeting my brother an sister-in-law who had the same deal. She had printed out all the offer information fortunately. I only brought my iPhone reservation info. I will do that from now on )<:}
Review 88:Tricia handled the miscommunication between AAA and Hyatt or vice versa beautifully. A stellar employee!
Review 89:From A-Z meaning Ambiance to the staff who always seems to come in the room when I'm sleep lol but Ive digressed..bottom line I felt like royalty.
Review 90:For the money you pay, you do t get much. Nothing free for breakfast, hard to park, but it is downtown which is always more expensive so I can live with that. Biggest disappointment was when we accidently spilled something on the sheets and the next day they did not Change them. Just made the bed with the dirty sheets. For the mo ey, we expected at least clean sheets.
Review 91:The location was Nic and the old building is beautiful. Right next to all the fun spots to eat and within walking distance of most things or you could take the bus/tram.
Review 92:for a pet friendly hotel there should be better closer facilities for dog walking for such a large hotel there really wasn't anything to do there. Because of that reason i think its over priced.
Review 93:We had a great experience at the Hyatt and we have no complaints.
Review 94:The Hyatt is close to everything, we were able to walk to all our destinations!! The service was great, beds were comfy, plenty of space in the room, and we had vallet parking. There are so many shops in the arcade to choose from, there's everything you need in one hotel! The hotel is beautiful inside! Beautiful enough for a wedding!
Review 95:It was terrible. Was left at curb with bags, then ushered and rushed to automated check in leaving my poor husband behind and me on my own. Taken up to our room which is just off the atrium. There was a fashion show. We could hear everything in our room. It was the last night of our honeymoon and we requested privacy, this was the exact oppodite. They completely ignored the request. I didn't even see the front desk at check in thanks to their impersonal check in station, too. We complained. We're moved to an unremodled room. It was gross. Cum on beds kit Brown stain on curtsins. No fridge. We were downgraded on our honeymoon and this was not why we chose the hyatt. I have honestly seen nicer Days Inns. This hotel price is solely location based, the rooms themselves and staff are completely lacking in quality.
Review 96:Nothing. Left an hour after checking in.
Review 97:The rooms are odd. Comfortable but not luxury or cozy. The restaurant is disappointing. Bad menu poor quality fortunately there's great restaurants just across the street.
Review 98:The staff is outstanding. The location is excellent. The building and history of the building is astounding.
Review 99:The room was "tired." Carpet frayed, two lampshades broken, stains on walls ... Needed updating
Review 100:Very unique location. Near many bars and restaurants the unfortunately were all closed early on Sunday.
Review 101:$24 dollar valet for nothing only 1 night
Review 102:The free wifi and the staff was nice. The house of blues was 2 min away from the hotel. I was in Cleveland to go to a comcert and i loved the fact i didnt have to drive.
Review 103:This hotel is close to all the attractions Cleveland has to offer. Great restaurants and entertainment are easily accessible via closed off streets and covered walkways.
Review 104:No one to help with luggage. No one even mention how to use door key. We went to dinner and first thing was getting a taxi. After getting taxi we had to walk in heavy slush/snow to get in my girl soaked her feet. Then after dinner we could not get back onto the building. It was -22* outside. It was terrible.
Review 105:Nothing. The valet personel were ok
Review 106:We really enjoyed the recently remodeled rooms in the historic Cleveland Arcade building! Centrally located to all of downtown's major entertainment venues. Would return again someday!
Review 107:I was not aware of the fact that Wi -FI had to be paid for. I have not run into this before. It would definitely affect my decision to stay their in the future. The chicken nachos appetizer from the bar was terrible. There was so little chicken , literally a teaspoonful on a large plate a chips smothered in fake cheese sauce. The bartender was very pleasant but I think she could fo better than wearing a T shirt to work.
Review 108:Each and every staff member was very friendly, helpful, and welcoming. I would like to especially point out the service of sunny at the front desk. My daughter had a very important Skype interview on Saturday morning for a large College scholarship. Sunny made sure we had Wi-Fi and wrote a beautifully encouraging note to Emma and slipped it under our door prior to the Skype interview with the Coca-Cola Foundation.
Review 109:While I love the convenience of a valet for the car it took us over an hour to pull away from the hotel after loading up the car due to the valet blocking us in with other cars over 3 cars deep. Poor planning with no consideration on the valet's part.
Review 110:Beautiful interior spaces.
Review 111:Don't like having a charge for a movie on my bill when not in the room and desk clerk not surprised when I questioned the charge. You need to fix this Mistake?
Review 112:The location and the bed.
Review 113:Rooms could use a little more color
Review 114:Beautiful hotel in downtown. Walking distance to the Gun and Progressive field and casino plus lots of bars and great places to eat right out the door.
Review 115:My husband and I were celebrating our one year anniversary. We stayed only one night. Check out was at noon, however the room attendant kept attempting to enter our room starting at 7:30 am. She made at least 3 attempts to enter the room. Thank goodness we had the sliding lock on the door.
Review 116:Having to pay for wifi
Review 117:I love the location of the Hyatt and also how neat the hotel is. It's absolutely beautiful at Christmas time with the decorations. It is our second time staying there in the month of Dec.
Review 118:the room had no ice bucket or a microwave and no fridge. i need these things. i was unhappy. also the restaurant downstairs is the worst. go down the block to a cafe style for great food.
Review 119:Convenience to party and shop and see the city
Review 120:AS you can see, 4 floors overlook the "arcade". A wedding reception was booked, and it was like being in a concert venue..very loud. We were asked upon check in if it would be a problem, but not offered a different room. The party ended about 1115PM. Be aware that this happens most weekends.
Review 121:Paid for expensive room, which was just a normal room with wider bed, bigger bathroom, bigger closet, and huge windows that looked out onto the roof and air conditioning systems.
Review 122:Location literally could not have been better.
Review 123:charged 199.00 for one night on booking deal but 229.00 for second deal was not a deal rooms spars nice view of parking garage not expected for price are high end hotel have stayed at downtown hotels before not charged for valet parking
Review 124:building location
Review 125:The group of people screaming and knocking on the door at 12am-1230, we knew that they were from the wedding but just when I picked up the phone- they stopped.
Review 126:The staff was excellent and very helpful. At check we inform that there was a wedding and we hay hear music until 11pm- that was fine with us.
Review 127:Not the Hyatt's fault but I wished more of the Arcade stores were open while I was there.
Review 128:Customer service was phenomenal. Real, old-fashioned courtesy and respect for guests, something that is rare these days
Review 129:The "Deluxe" king room was not "Deluxe". If you are going to label a room "Deluxe", then it should be a large room like the other king rooms we have stayed in. It should also be clean..there were spots all over the carpet, and the room was very dingy. A Deluxe room should also have a refrigerator. I requested a quiet room and was put on the fourth floor right above a wedding reception....which we didn't know about until we checked in. Cleanliness is the number one issue...Hyatt needs to really look into the training of their housekeeping staff
Review 130:We have stayed at the Hyatt many times...we love the location and the beauty of the old building
Review 131:Could be cleaner but acceptable. The valet people are not very attentive
Review 132:The architectural design of the facility is nice, really takes you back in time. Excellent location by restaurants and bars
Review 133:Room was set at 75 when I turned it down I didn't realize there was more to it and the fan was not on. It was very warm and no way to open windows. Should have clear instructions on thermostat. No fridge. Room taxes too high!
Review 134:Beautiful &.Comfy beds.
Review 135:Perhaps poorly managed, the hotel lacks any soul. My room was stuffy and not clean (dust on window-sills, desk ext) and the bathrooms are dated and very minimal. The tower block is quieter (on previous stays I have had to suffer wedding parries in the arcade) but totally unmemorable. The price is very high for the quality.
Review 136:Location is excellent for business, and arcade is spectacular.
Review 137:Upon arrival, reservation was incorrectly entered so the process took much longer than expected...but they got me a room. Room was initially humid and smelled of smoke but this improved in a couple hours. Location is a bit unsettling when I wanted to go for a walk...felt uncomfortable walking in the area.
Review 138:Bed was comfortable, bathroom was updated, clean, and nice. Lounge area and restaurant service was very good.
