Review 2:The only thing that bothered me was the porch light that I couldn't turn off atnight when we went to bed.

Review 3:It was tremendously blissful. Peace and quiet all around. It was really a relaxing experience

Review 4:Great location, great people! Everything was perfect and the price more than fair for what we got for it! Never had such a friendly host-couple before!! They gave us lots of information about the region and some vouchers for different places as well!

Review 5:I couldn't get to the lower dams as I have bad knees but most fit people would manage without any difficulty.

Review 6:Lovely peaceful location with only bird noises. Very relaxing!

Review 7:The entire place is in dire need of maintenance, the gardens were overgrown. The site mentioned free wifi, but was not available in our house, only at reception.

Review 8:Great location with access to Knysna and Plett and the Crags area. It was very beautiful and secluded

Review 9:Nothing

Review 10:Owner were terrific and very helpful. Excellent directions, but use the following GPS: S 3402232, E 02314567. Email owner a few days before arrival for gate code.

Review 11:Set just offed the beaten track but far from the maddening crowds, this piece of paradise was a welcome escape from our busy stressful year. Gardens and ponds that seemed to stretch on forever with lots of bird life and a friendly dog made for a great break.

Review 12:nothing

Review 13:It's a good choice to stay. This place is nice, quiet, cozy and you can relax after day long car drive. Clean, comfortable room with a kitchen. Hosts are very kind. We hope back there again.

Review 14:A warning about how small and windy the driveway was going to be would have been good to prepare for.

Review 15:Friendly and helpful hosts Comfortable and clean accommodation gorgeous scenery excellent facilities

Review 16:Since we had confirmed our arrival time, it would have been nice to have had the heaters on and/or a fire started. Very cold arrival after dark.

Review 17:Liked the setting and convenience to the main road--beautiful & peaceful. Toys and books wonderful. Dinner recommendation and washer appreciated.

Review 18:No frills value for money.

Review 19:Beautiful , green environment. Very friendly owners. Spacious house. Good vibe.

Review 20:Nothing not to like.

Review 21:Tranquil gardens set amid indigenous Harkerville forest.

Review 22:Parking was available but a bit tight.

Review 23:Very piece full with lots of bird life.

Review 24:Very quirky

Review 25:The location, the view, the layout of the cottage.

Review 26:loadshedding!! but lights provided. Heaters in rooms could be better.

Review 27:that rooms were serviced everyday

Review 28:The road to the unit was isolated and at night a bit uncomfortable.

Review 29:The unit was very comfortable with all the needed equipment.Good value for money.

Review 30:Had such a great time. Not far from main road, yet far enough away from busy life. So peaceful.

Review 31:the setting in the bush and the peace and tranquility of the place

Review 32:Setting, beauty, gardens

Review 33:Everything

Review 34:Value for money, expensive for self-catering. The bed was really uncomfortable.

Review 35:Beautiful location

Review 36:Owners are very nice and helpful the place is quiete and perfec for relaxing !

Review 37:Equipment old and very basic, house slept 10 but only 9 plates, tiny fridge etc. Damp a big issue making kitchen cupboards very smelly. Placement of fixtures not thought through to make sense for practical use.

Review 38:Fireplace, beds comfortable, heaters everywhere so were nice and warm, owners and staff very accommodating and helpful. Bent over backwards to assist with alternative accommodation due to invalid mother (original booked had too many stairs which was not noted in description).

Review 39:Very close to N2, but no noise. Fantastic views and wonderful terrace. Conveniently close if you want to be at the Knysna Elephant Park early morning.

Review 40:Very nice people. Very helpful and good to talk to. The place is a little bit remote but thanks to it is quiet and good for having a rest. The first place with a real cable TV :-)

Review 41:Not a thing!

Review 42:Wonderful hosts, absolutely beautiful location and grounds, delicious breakfast, lovely rooms and well stocked kitchen. Can't ask for anymore! Oh, and even a great Saturday morning market nearby!

Review 43:Quiet location set in attractive gardens. Enjoyed a very comfortable and relaxing stay. We were given a warm welcome. We enjoyed a swim in the small swimming pool.

Review 44:The access road needs improving but there's probably little they can do themselves.

Review 45:Very friendly owners. Stunning valley views from the patio, with wildlife ready for spotting. Pleasant swimming pool. Wonderful change after all the beachside properties I was staying at along the N2 road.

Review 46:The house had not been well kept when we arrived. It is a self catering facility, and we had to wash all of the pots, dishes, and glasses as there was a greasy film on all of them from non use. There were rusty kitchen tools, silverware, and the Braai grates were rusty as well. The house was full of black mold, we had to run a cycle of bleach through the washing machine before we could use it for our own laundry as it smelled moldy as well. There was a broken pipe in one of the bathrooms so we were limited to one bathroom for the duration of our stay. We stayed for 1 week and I had several braais while I was there , I just had to buy my own meat grate as the grates provided had long rusted. I wish the owners would take better care of that building. Maybe the other buildings are in better shape, bu it seems like such a shame to have this building in such a state of disrepair.

Review 47:The property and building we stayed in were both beautiful. Lots of birds and monkeys. The building we stayed in was nice and large, great for a family up to 10 people. Pool was nice and the owners were very courteous. Very beautiful landscaping and the birdsong house has it's own deck, Braai area, large outside table for enjoying outdoor meals, and laundry washing machine.

Review 48:The house has all the necessary amenities. The kitchen is well equipped. The beds are comfortable but the bedding can be improved. The bathrooms look ok... They have just been renovated. The kitchen has a foul stench coming from the cupboards which may be due to old or persistent damp. The owner is pleasant and helpful. The location is excellent for those wishing to experience plettenburg bay and knysna.

Review 49:Very very friendly and nice owners. Very good breakfast. Very nicesurrounding, beautifull garden/park.Good recommondations foractivities. They gradet us up to a whole cottage just because there wassufficient space and the weather was bad. It was definetly one of ourbest stays in South Africa. If you like to stay outside City Center andyou enjoy nature this is definetly a fantastic place.

Review 50:Nothing except the cold evenings which is normal because it's winter!

Review 51:You experience a bit of heaven. Breathtaking view and perfect for honeymoon.

Review 52:N/A

Review 53:the absolute beauty of the surroundings and the quint accommodation which was clean and all accessories in place. The staff were extremely helful with tips of where to visit etc.

Review 54:A little way out of town, if you want to go out to eat, but a terrific restaurant 5 mins away, 5 star at literally 2 star prices.

Review 55:A very different location to the rest of the garden route. A really great place to spend an evening with a bottle of wine on the terrace overlooking a stunning little valley. Self catering facilities. Satellite TV with choice of channels. (SA normal TV is the worst I have seen)

Review 56:It was an absolutely tranquil Palace. Everything you need was there and the family there is very friendly. The hell you booking ans activities. Wie can recommend it very much.

Review 57:Great unique place and we really enjoyed our stayso much we are returning in 3 days time. it was just as shown and the night sky was awesome. excellent value , very friendly and so relaxing

Review 58:The absense of a cash bar The linen has seen better days

Review 59:Restful and beautiful location. You cannot but relax, once you are there. Room is spacious and comfortable

Review 60:I really liked the place,I felt in paradise, that beautiful place, accommodations are excellent, with all facilities, very polite, I recommend to everyone, I would like to stay longer.A strong and big hug to you guys.

Review 61:No, we very much enjoyed our stay

Review 62:We thought Masescha was a little hidden gem. Tucked away just off then2, but far enough to enjoy the brilliant surroundings without hearingany traffic noise. We stayed in one of cottages next to the main house, which was self catering but did include a brilliant breakfast. Seriouslyprice/value more than worth it. Very friendly welcome and even thoughowners were busy, they took their time to make our experience atMasescha a very good one. Would have stayed for another night if wecould have. It's close enough to Plettenberg and Knysna for shopping ordaily visit and easy location for ongoing travel to either PortElisabeth or Cape Town.

Review 63:Bathroom needs updating, and the mattress was too soft for our liking(but that comes down to personal preferance). Would have liked a moreprivate braai facility.

Review 64:We liked the tranquility, the pine bed, the wooden deck and the dailyservicing.

Review 65:You need a car to get there, but it is a lovely place to relax and listen to birds and watch monkeys when having breakfast under the sun!

Review 66:The owner welcomed us very friendly and suggested a beautiful place for dinner. We greatly enjoyed the remoteness and quietness of Masescha.

Review 67:the fridge makes a lot of noise and it woud be nice to have WIFI in the cottage

Review 68:Ray and Angie were the perfect hosts. The shower is great

Review 74:It was a bit more rustic than we expected. The hot water broke down.

Review 75:The owner is a very sweet person. The natural setting was very pleasant.

Review 76:The whole atmosphere was amazing and sooo friendly!

Review 77:The house was located in the forest.

Review 78:Beautiful setting, affordable, peaceful, excellent staff and management.

Review 79:It was neglected and not as expected. Photos on website seem to glorify actual rooms and surroundings.

Review 80:The owners were extremely helpful and friendly

Review 81:Everything, the house was comfortable, neat and really just awesome.

Review 82:road a bit bumpy,

Review 83:very nice staff, wonderful breakfast;
