Reviews for Samed Pavilion Resort

Review 1:No beach loungers available on the beach for guests of Samed Pavilion Resort. The resort next door has for their guests.

Review 2:The staff were very friendly and obliging.

Review 3:Extremely bad experience with the staff who is inexperienced, total lack of customer service and extremely rude!

Review 4:The hotel, the location and the facilities

Review 5:WiFi is so poor! And the daily renewed password is so complicated, the system can not remember user info. Also cell phone 3G/4G signal is so poor at room

Review 6:Very good position with good beach and landscape. Room is good but AC is noisy, no flip flop provided, WiFi is very poor!

Review 7:The staff speaks barely english and isn't really helpful. There are a lot of rooms and not many facilities which makes it a very crowded place. The restaurant serves junk food (lunch) and isn't very good, breakfast is ok.

Review 8:The rooms were well decorated and clean. It is close to the beach where you find some nice restaurants.

Review 9:We had a real problem with the water in the room. One of our group was in the shower at the time and could not rise clean until the water was back on again an hour later. It was eventually resolved but the staff did not feel any urgency or try to make it up to us in any way. That was a shame.

Review 10:Loved the staff and the location. The staff helped us off the boat on arrival, and onto the boat on departure.

Review 11:Not enough beds. There is space for beds that stack on top of each other. Breakfast was lovely but not enough seats st the height of the season.

Review 12:Lovely rooms. Nice breakfast. Food good.

Review 13:The flys in the restaurant for breakfast were very bad & on all the food. Close the windows & doors and have breakfast inside so you can keep the flys outside

Review 14:Clean room & good location

Review 15:The staff were miserable as can be! Never encountered such miserable Thai's in my life! Been going to Thailand for over a decade and wont ever return to Koh Samet simply because of the miserable amount of staff. It was just incredible! And we were not alone in how we felt! Other guests touched on the same thing. Not to mention the language barrier! They either refused point blank to attempt english, or simply were unable to do so. I assume that working in the hospitality industry, a second language such as english would have been a priority. Not the case at all here. It was a no go area. And it made for a very frustrated holiday trying to communicate the simples of things, like ordering milk for a cup of tea ever the phone. This culminated in me being left quite bereft at the end of the phone call, and having a large glass of milk being delivered.

Review 16:The breakfast was wonderful apart from the storm of flies ever single morning.

Review 17:the rooms are very dark no sun light, the place is infested with flys especially when you go for breakfast. mosquietos every where you can't site on the balcony theres no point no view or sun. the pool is nice but the sun only hits it early morning.

Review 18:staff friendly internet good location good

Review 19:Internet was a pain having to get a new login and password every day for every device

Review 20:Excellent stay in a stunning hotel. Amazing location and lovely facilities. Very good breakfast.

Review 21:Reception staff was surly (which is almost unheard of in Thailand); the room was available 2 1/2 hours late from check in time - no apology or explanation - and staff was disagreeable when asked about status. The rooms are very small and the air conditioning systems are old and very loud. Definitely would not recommend this hotel.

Review 22:The location to the beach is great. The pool is beautiful, but not enough seating/lounging area to effectively use it. The bathrooms are lovely - recently remodeled and wee appointed.

Review 23:Excellent breakfast and comfortable hotel room, but unfortunately we had to go down a few steps to the room.We had no view at all and the sun didn´t reach into the patio to dry the swimming gear.

Review 24:Mosquito infested place, never seen anything like it before. I was totally perforated while sleeping. The room wasn't great either, not very cozy are well decorated. Finally, their private taxi service to the port was a whopping 300 baht. An insane amount of money for a five minute ride, and a shameless way to abuse their position because you don't have much of a choice.

Review 25:Close to the beach.

Review 26:No beach access, only via hotels in the neighborhood and they charge 50 baht. Poor sleeping comfort (soft beds and hard and big pillows).

Review 27:Staff very friendly. Restaurant has a poor ambient (no beach no view only at pool) but is actually very good - Western and Thai. Pool is good and not so direct in the sun, suitable for small children. Pool is rare for Koh Samed hotels.

Review 28:Price is a bit steep - but then again it is the case for most beach hotels in koh samet

Review 29:Pool, proximity to the extremely beautiful beach and tropical sea, breakfast was great, many food and bar options on the beach close by

Review 30:Didn't like the breakfast area in the middle of reception, just wasn't right. All the staff looking at u while u eat and my table was no more than 3 feet from the check in desk, that's if u could even get a table, not many on offer. Biggest gripe was checking in, requested early check, didn't receive even though the hotel seemed very quite. That was disappointing, it was midweek and off season. No explanation either. Lastly for the price I consider it vastly over priced for the quality received.

Review 31:The room was good. The bathroom was great, good size and closet spaces in the bathroom, surprisingly, worked really well. Breakfast was delicious with good choice. Location great, basically on the beach.

Review 32:Resort does not have direct access to beach, Restaurant is in the lobby, so eating there is not nice

Review 33:Nice design, staff is friendly and welcoming, but not all of them speak english

Review 34:No on site spa/massage facilities, despite the website advertising one (perhaps it hasnt been updated but it should be as this is partly why we chose the property). Too few hangers in the wardrobe

Review 35:Excellent size room, really comfortable bed and ideal besch-front locstion

Review 36:The wifi was considerably slow. Some mosquitos were in the room.

Review 37:I like the room's layout and friendly staffs. I can find everything I need in the hotel.

Review 38:The door so bad, take like 30 min s for lock the door, when I booked by website is 1 rate but it didn't charge from my card . I called to resort they changed me 2 rate price (more expensive plus international charge with us credit card

Review 39:Quite

Review 40:We had a group of friends visit from another resort, and within a very short time they were told to leave. Guests only were welcome. A very embarrassing incident for me.

Review 41:Good facilities, great pool, friendly staff.

Review 42:Many mosquitoes in the room and the mosquito net not only was too small but also had lots of holes in it which meant we ended up with lots of bites despite applying repellent. We requested a quiet room but there was a speaker that played music into our room very early on Saturday morning. Sunday morning we were woken by people constantly going through a gate beside our room. Pillow too hard but maybe that's just my preference. Breakfast just ok.

Review 43:Location is great, steps away from the beautiful beach. The staff at reception were very friendly and helpful. I also like that you are given an extra towel for the beach.

Review 44:None.

Review 45:Staff were friendly and all ready to assist. The birthday arrangement for my friend were awesome. Thank you to all the staff of Samed pavilion. Keep up the good job.

Review 46:The beds were way(!) too soft!! All 3 of us had a difficult time to fall asleep. wifi is a bit slow, but probably normal when you have a lot of guests staying at the hotel.

Review 47:The staff was great!! We arrived earlier than our check-in time, but they gave us towels, so we could already hop in the pool! The location is AMAZING! Right by the beach. The pool is a bit small, but if you don't travel during peak-time, should be good enough. The breakfast buffet was very good. Variety of asian and western food, fresh fruits and freshly made omelettes and pancakes.

Review 48:The seatings for breakfast, I found it's hard to get the seat in the morning or maybe it because of the high season of tourism. Furthermore, I want the staff to have more information about travelling Ko Samed to all type of the customers, even for Thai people! The information such as where to get taxi, how much it will cost and what are the must-see attractions in the island.

Review 49:I like the way that tge room is big and how the facilities is well suited for teenagers to stay together. How it is well organised such as the big bathroom and the type of the room.

Review 50:Wonderful hotel in beautiful green setting. Lovely rooms in Orchid wing facing pool area. We chose this so we had the option of pool or beach, which was good in July when the waves could be quite high. Kind and helpful staff, although level of understanding English sometimes led to confusion. Good food at their restaurant but quite pricey compared to beach options. We loved the Tubtim beach in the next cove, with a restaurant serving the best Phad Thai ever for 70 baht.

Review 51:Unfortunately the wifi was not great. You have to get a new code each flat and log in each time you need to use the internet. The pool was quite small and during busy times there were not enough sun beds to sit on and read/relax.

Review 52:Helpful staff, great buffet breakfast and clean rooms. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Review 53:Initially we were given a ground level room (being semi subterranean) which suffered a little damp with the obvious accompanying damp smell. The staff moved us upstairs as soon as we mentioned it...

Review 54:The staff, location and facilities for the price were good. The beach BBQ and restaurant were nicely placed and served reasonably good food at the island standard pricing.

Review 55:Limited breakfast buffet (vegetarian traveller), no hotel loungers at beach, lack of diverse choice in restaurants locally

Review 56:Well appointed rooms, clean, good service, relaxed atmosphere

Review 57:Very helpful and polite staff, they did their best to make our stay as comfortable as possible. Great location and great facilities. Been to Samed approx. 25 times and this is one of the best places to be, right on the beach and nice and tranquil

Review 58:Some staff not overly friendly Flies at breakfast were terrible however some action was taken on the third day of our stay to cover the food

Review 59:Good location near some lovely beaches and restaurants. Pool. Family room spacious and clean with comfortable beds.

Review 60:I don't know what it's with Thai beds?? Hard beds that was coverd with some kind of plastic textile under all the sheets. So it went pretty sweaty even do you had a/c on. The small pool where not that well maintained during the stay due to lots of guests during our stay.

Review 61:The location just a few steps from the beach! Good selection of different kinds of breakfast both. Asian/European. Helpful staff during the hole stay at the resort.

Review 62:Staff not very friendly or smiley, had to get code for wifi every day and it kept throwing you off connection

Review 63:Location, comfy clean room, lots of choice for breakfast, clean hotel

Review 64:Unless you put the door on the sign they won't clean your room.

Review 65:Only a short walk from one of the most beautiful beaches with the added advantage of having a pool. Room was lovely & wifi was good.

Review 66:The wifi was slow. The breakfast was ok, but could be better.

Review 67:I love that there is a pool. After a day on the beach is nice to hang a bit in the pool. The atmosphere of the whole facility is really nice.

Review 68:many mosquito and little ants in the room and outside, the aircon takes a lot of time to cool the room, they don't have twin beds, the restaurant of samed villa is much better.

Review 69:Good breakfast with many choices, nice pool, nice design of the resort.

Review 70:The breakfast there were too many insects around even during the hottest time of the year. Also limited seating in shade areas or inside. Suggest adding mor umbrellas that can also be used poolside during the day.

Review 71:The staff was very helpful and very pleasent

Review 72:We stayed in family room and Wifi connection is very poor. Bed is not very comfortable and no beah front or beach bench if want to relax at the beach.

Review 73:Family room and pool. Bf is quite ok

Review 74:Breakfast was quite poor, the same things and very little variety, for that price room i expect better food, but its a island, always small islands=poor food . The territory of the hotel is ridiculously small. From the pictures it looked way bigger. There is no direct access to the beach, so you have to pay 60 THB for the sunbed. The beach is nice, but not as smooth as SaiKaew.

Review 75:I liked room - we get family room - with 2 huge king size beds, really comfortable. Shower and toilet were nice too, quite big room. Like it! The pool is so small, but better than nothing.

Review 76:It's ok if u want to relax on the beach at days or party at Silversand at nights. You can get away from noises because others could suffering from that.

Review 77:The staffs are very nice, I lost my belongings many times and they were very helpful. Breakfast is very much better than 2-3 years ago I've been here. Rooms are best as always. We don't have sea view but we have pool.

Review 78:Pool is tiny and in reception area. Staff unfriendly and not service minded. When asked for the manager staff told a manager was non existent ..... Ultimately we were not surprised.

Review 79:Three negatives, one of them of actual consequence: 1) we got food poisoning from the breakfast. I'm guessing it was the salad and fruit that was left out for several hours, along with the numerous flies. 2) The shower water couldn't keep a hot temperature. Not a big deal for us as we're used to cold showers in Thailand, but could annoy other guests. 3) The WiFi reception in the room was awful. Again, not a big deal since we didn't come to a beach island to browse Facebook all day, but it was slightly disappointing. I'll also warn that the pool is quite small and there aren't many pool chairs. I don't know why you would complain about a pool when the beach is literally a stone's throw away, but I guess some people are spoiled that way.

Review 80:The atmosphere of the place was stunning, especially when you first walk in. The room was large, and the mattress was soft, which is unusual in Thailand. The bathroom was nice, the toiletries were generous. The room and service left little to be desired. And the location was great! Right outside Ao Pai beach and a few minutes' walk from Hat Sai Kaeo beach. But it still kept a quiet, serene distance from the few bars nearby that pumped music late at night. Overall we were pleased.

Review 81:Did not like 10% service charge. that should up to the customer, if they had good service or not. It makes you not want to tip because you have already been charged...

Review 82:Hotel was great, good facilities...

Review 83:Pillows were aweful and the rooms which go down the basement, are pretty much in the dark. Not a great feel to sit outside your room, when you are located in the basement of the Hotel.

Review 84:Breakfast was amazing and every day something different on it.

Review 85:The room is pretty nice, except 1 problem about the mosquitos. I can understand because they plant quite many trees outside but that's still the problem that they really need to fix. I didn't try the pool, it's too small especially when being compared with the pictures on internet, but for kids it's fine I think. They also have the motobike for rent there, 400 baht/ 24 hours. It's quite okay except 1 thing that they didn't have the helmets (or because they ran out of them, I guess).

Review 86:My holiday here was pretty nice. At the beginning I was a bit confused because of many comments on internet (both good and bad), but luckily I didn't have any big problem. The location is great, just 2 mins walking to reach the beach, but still quiet and private enough so you won't be annoyed by some noisy activities on the beach. The facilities is pretty nice, not really excellent but acceptable I think. The safe box in my room didn't work really well at the beginning (due to the battery or smt), but a staff fixed it and it's okay then. The breakfast is okay, not so special but acceptable. The decoration outside is good, make you feel very close to the nature. I usually met some cute birds there, they're quite cute and friendly. The staffs are very nice, friendly and helpful, they smile all the time. Anyway, I had a really good time there and will choose this resort again if I have chance to come back Koh Samed.

Review 87:Set back off the beach about 200m. Need to hire chair on the beach. Neither really problems though. Internet speed slow at times, but worked well in room.

Review 88:Large clean modern room. Very good breakfast. Nice gardens.

Review 89:The only thing that is missing is a well organised breakfast. Is a bit messy.

Review 90:The rooms are really clean, staff is very friendly, the location is great.

Review 91:Expensive and the Internet did not work in the room. Needed a seperate wifi password for each device....on 2nd day, one was cleaned up and thrown out.

Review 92:Beautiful hotel with great facilities.

Review 93:WiFi password was updated every 24 hours, meaning a walk to reception every day for one, a bit annoying. Breakfast is free, but poor quality.

Review 94:Location was good. Staff were great.

Review 95:Wifi won't let me connect for long. I had to re-sign in over and over while I was staying.

Review 96:I booked a family room with my friends. I didn;t have chance to see all around the Koh Samet island but on the way to the resort I've seen and entered some bangalos or other resorts. All my friends agreed that this resort is the best as fat as we know. They have really nice(But smaller than I thought) pool, and the best breakfast(Buffett?), A/C, wifi, modern and clean room.

Review 97:Excellent location, warm friendly staff whom where able to meet all of our needs and enquires. We travelled with family and can highly recommend this venue for not just single but for the family style holiday..Meals very excellent, services where excellent, free wi fi, etc and all very reasonably priced. Enjoy Daniel Perth, Western Australia

Review 98:There was a noisy water pump in the back rooms that went in and off all night.

Review 99:Location location location!! Not on the beach but not far from the beach. I nice walk to town. Although there is a night club on the beach by the hotel you can't hear a thing. Around an amazing place!! Well recommended!!

Review 100:Wifi: very inconvenient wifi, every 24h new code needed, every time you wish excess you need to re-enter full code. No complementary beds at the beach Flies: breakfast was good and diverse, however there were way too many flies on the food Reception: when we ordered a taxi back to the pier at the reception we were first told it was 300 bath, when challenging 200 was fine too. Receptionist tried too earn fast cash.

Review 101:Liked the location, clean and comfortable rooms.

Review 102:Location of hotel is a bit recessed from beach but still only a 2 minute walk so not a big minus. Perhaps more importantly the beach is a bit busy and not the best beach on island but island is small and it is easy to use other beaches. Hotel restaurant has a huge menu but not that many guests seemed to eat there so it seemed a bit empty and the atmosphere a bit lacking. The staff was very friendly but sometimes a bit slow. Not a big issue. Overall a really great hotel despite these shortcomings!

Review 103:Hotel facilities are very nice and modern with traditional design elements. Hotel is well kept and very clean. Beautiful landscaping and plants. Nice swimming pool. Very nice, modern rooms. Clean bathrooms. Really great breakfast buffet is a definite highlight.

Review 104:nothing !!!

Review 105:We looked at a number of other places on Ko Samet and the Pavilion was by far the best value for money I would strongly advise any family with young children this Hotel. We will be back in a few weeks for another week we loved it that much.

Review 106:no sun-chair provided from a beach resort; too many flies during breakfast; swim pool extremely small

Review 107:room is clean, staff is helpful, reasonable price

Review 108:We only stayed one night as it was very noisy in the evening and early morning, but may have been where our room was situated. I complained that night about loud guests and the staff were quick to sort it out. We found cheaper accommodation along the next beach that wasn't on booking.com so it's worth exploring the island as well.

Review 109:Location to beach, town and restaurants is an easy walk. Lovely peaceful resort feeling that made you feel very much on holidays. The breakfast was quite good too. Staff friendly and accommodating to guests needs.

Review 110:Wifi access poor Breakfast buffet outdoors. Food inadequately protected from flies.

Review 111:Location of hotel close to the beach. Friendly staff. Room very comfortable

Review 112:Service and bad attitude of check in and reception staff , look at you with blank faces and do not understand you most of the time ! Way too many flies around food and tables at breakfast

Review 113:Being on island near beach and restaurants, enjoyed the breakfast

Review 114:not enough chairs for pool, not located directly on beach.

Review 115:Breakfast was fabulous, bed was soft but pillows were awful, room was spacious, safe in room, great english channels on tv, room was clean.

Review 116:this hotel does not own a beach, so you have to pay for the chairs and umbrella.

Review 117:Location is great, rooms were nice, staff was super friendly. What really impressed me was how beautifully this hotel fits into nature. Even inside the hotel area, they used every empty space to put the plant onto. Food (I ate only breakfast) was solid. Would go back anytime.

Review 118:A little overpriced. You can get cheaper similar rooms around the island.

Review 119:+ Just a few rows from the beach. Meaning 2 min walk - but also no noice from bars etc. Rooms (double) very spacious. VERY nice and varied breakfast!

Review 120:Restuaurant not up to scratch for hotel of this price. Some staff need to go to charm school. Laundry shrunk clothes. Room in basement so little natural light.

Review 121:Clean rooms and comfortable beds. Pretty resort. Small but attractive pool. Close to beach and restaurantes/bars. Most staff polite and helpful.

Review 122:very dark and humid room without any view very crowdy and poor breakfast (we had to fight to find a place to sit)

Review 123:the swimming pool, the proximity to the beach

Review 124:No beach and therefore no chairs for guests. On public beach there where several dealers and a chair costs around 50 baht per day.

Review 125:Good hotel, among the best bed I slept in, in Thailand. Nice room, clean and good breakfast.

Review 126:- swimming pool too small, approx 6 sun beds only. We didn't use it. - our room had 1 window on a main walkway, so needed to keep curtains closed the whole time. - hotel didn't have its on beach area/sun lounges. Had to rent Silver Sand facilities.

Review 127:- location: Ao Pai beach ended up being better than first thought. - several beach front restaurants so plenty of choice for lunch & dinner. - walking distance to the main island beach.

Review 128:Hard beds and hard pillows resulting in poor sleep Staff did not seem to know what they were doing. Could not make a gin & tonic at the bar which had no atm

Review 129:Nice clean rooms and bathroom. Nice surroundings

Review 130:The beach just in front the hotel, very busy with no reserved transats for clients. Fortunately, there's another beach 3 min away, very beautiful and quiet. The rooms are a little close to the others, so if you're looking for total intimacy, this is not the hotel you need.

Review 131:The situation of the hotel, at the end of ao Phai, far enough from the bars to avoid the noisy music, the nice staff and the quality of the room.

Review 132:I E-mailed twice about assistance with getting to the hotel and never a reply. Restaurant closed 10 mins earlier then advertised and staff could not even do some toast. Coffee making was suspended for an hour in the afternoon due to a staff meeting ! Last day a late check out request and declined even in low season with very few people, managers rules apparently.

Review 133:Location & Rooms

Review 134:The breakfast was terrible, with everything sitting out for hours whichis generally not a good choice in a tropical climate. The staff was cooland distant and entirely unhelpful. During my stay I made a number ofsimple requests, such as a map of the island and the location of a diveshop, among others. It's hard to believe that a map couldn't belocated or printed online, but it's true. Anything I needed thatcame with an additional charge (room service, laundry, motorbike rental)was no problem for them to get for me, but when it came to helping mewith the more touristy attractions they were at a loss. If you want topay too much for poor service, gross food, and the worst low-key technosong blasting out of the speakers on repeat from morning to midnight, this is your place. If not, you'd be better off at Silver SandResort or Samed Villa Resort, which are on either side of this one.Don't waste your time or money on this place.

Review 135:The location was nice, about a two-minute walk from the beach

Review 136:Buffet breakfast served out beside pool. My friend suffered food poisoning from pre made omelette mixture which is left out in sun then fryed for guests.Lots of ants all over tables and food.

Review 137:Location was right on the busy part of the beach, easy access to bars etc.not too noisy. Rooms are smallish but very modern.

Review 138:Setting at breakfast although the food was good. Need tablecloth, nice cutlery and some privacy. Too many people in a small area... Maybe offer room delivery.

Review 139:Location at the back of the beach. Quiet. Kid friendly pool, shadow.

Review 140:The best hotel on koh Samed! The best beach. Soft sand. Very very blue water. Wonderful sunrise! Good shisha in Silversand bar. I recommend it to everybody.

Review 141:The amount of flies at breakfast

Review 142:Comfortable beds

Review 143:Lots of paperwork to check in and wifi was no good

Review 144:Location
