Review 1：The hotel has false advertising of its superior rooms. Some are located in the old building and this is not mentioned anywhere. The view was discusting!

Its ok if local channels are English-speaking, but all were in Thai (even English movies were dubbed in Thai). Staff didnt sweep the floors when they cleaned the room. We had to climb 3 stories to our room, there was no lift. In general, very bad value for money. I would not stay there again, nor promote it to my friends/family.

Review 12：No view from balcony which overlooked roof of shop in front. TV had limited channels, only one in English and very fuzzy. Room clean but in parts getting a little dated compared to newer hotels in Ao Nang. Very noisy during day from kitchen below, in mornings from cleaners in corridor and in evening when there was a private party in the room below me. Not near bars so noise not from party goers on street but from hotel itself. If you had a deluxe room, you'd overlook pool so wouldn't have kitchen/ private function room noise so much.

Review 14：Not really easy access. Stairs to get to every part including the pool and dining hall. There is a steep ramp at the main entrance for luggage and of course the staff chooses to block it using a baggage trolley. Rm 107 has no hot water. At best you can call it tepid/lukewarm. At checkout, the bell boy rolled my luggage over the small gap near the lobby almost damaging it.

Review 15：Location is awesome.Aonang beach, food, shopping, massage, pubs and the long tail boat dropoff point are all within walking distance. Breakfast was similar the 3 mornings we were there but I did enjoy their porridge and omelette.

Review 24：The staff didn't speak great english and there was a stuff up upon arrival as our room wasn't as requested (twin beds not a double)... the staff then asked us to stay in a room that was being painted? which we refused to do, so they had to upgrade us or we would have left. This showed a lack of professionalism as they were willing to make us sleep in a room that was being painted. The front desk lady wasn't pleasant. The room we were upgraded to was loud all night as it was right on the main strip - this is even after we requested a quiet room. Very sad we chose this hotel when the inn down the road looked better and was much cheaper! Not worth the money!!!!

Review 42：Cons: 1. Wifi at our building was patchy. Couldn't connect most times, but had times with very fast wifi when it finally did connect! 2. Bathroom ventilation was really poor - floors ended up quite wet after a shower and took forever to dry. The water would spill over to the main floor of the bathroom as well and there weren't any shower mats available. 3. Hot water was erratic, would come on and off. My friends had no problems with their water, but every time I used the shower it would be cold! Technicians would come quite fast if I informed reception but they only start work at 8, which was tricky.

Review 43：The hotel was very comfortable, we arrived a bit later at night due to a flight delay but checked in without any issues. Staff at reception were polite and very helpful with our requests. We travelled as a group and had adjoining rooms in the building across from reception just above the restaurant. Rooms themselves were very well sized with comfortable beds and good airconditioning. Toilets were modern, comfortable and well-sized. Both our rooms came with a balcony (view was marginally impaired by the surrounding buildings, but we did manage to get a beautiful sunset).

The chef making theeggs/omelettes, besides being very miserable, he did not understandwhen we ordered a fried egg. Omelettes were good. By 9.30 most of thebreakfast buffet was finished and they would not replenish anything. Notgood at all. The next day when we went back for breakfast, their werefried eggs, but they were standing in a chaffing dish and the eggs wereall cold. Not good enough. Also, when we arrived the mini bar had notbeen fully packed, and we let reception know that their was one packetof crisps missing. We thought they took note, but because of the badEnglish, they then tried to charge us for the packet of crisps whenleaving. Not good enough. We have stayed in many hotels in Thailand, andI don't think we have ever complained, so this was a bitdisappointing. But the location, pool and aircon, made up for it. Oneother complaint, is that you cannot make any phonecalls overseas fromthe hotel. My husband was bitten by a dog and needed to urgently gethold of the Travel Insurance in South Africa, but no one could help us.Also not good enough.

So maybe if you are looking for a hotel with halal food, you should confirm with the hotel before you book.

Review 88：I love that they gave us a room that faces the street, hence we have 2 balconies and also our room is close to the internet modem so wifi was great! Big double bed..was worried of hard mattress but it was really comfortable. Staff was especially helpful when we check out. Even though we booked a taxi ourselves, they helped to put our luggages into the taxi and direct the traffic. Don't really get why some reviewers said the staff aren't friendly. I thought they were good. I love the coffee at breakfast.

Do not understand why the staff could not send it to the room and collect the cash from the room. Very disappointed with the attitude of the staff.

Review 102：This hotel is in a perfect location to the beach and the local shops. The young staff were very friendly, helpful and attentative. The room was large, very clean. And a lough we did not have a pool side view. It was more than adequate for our stay which we extended a further night. The breakfast was more than adequate to cater for all nationalities and the poolside attendants very obliging. There was nothing we could fault about this hotel and would definitely come back again.

Review 103：The room gives views of the roofs of other buildings next to the hotel buildings. The breakfast was not too bad but most of the food was almost cold especially fried eggs were prepared hours ahead so they were very cold.

Review 105：Location is good, everything is pretty much walking distance. Beach is near by but is full of those fishing boats. There is a small area in between the boats marked so boats stay away and people could use it, if u want a better clean beach then u have to go 10 mnts away on motorbike. Pool is nice and clean. Review 108：I was deeply offended when after coming back to the hotel with a girl, I was asked to pay a so called "Extra guest night fee". I refused to pay and the reception refused to give me the key to get into my room (I initially left the key there so I wouldn't have to carry it with me). I explained the staff that it was only me spending the night there but they wouldn't listen. It sounded as if their ability to speak english was suddenly gone. I eventually had to pay and the girl was gone after one hour. I found this experience to be bitter although it was not about the money.

Review 110：Despite the bad reviews (only few reviews are OK), we decided to give it a go anyways. It is definitely the worse hotel I have stayed at, ever. The service is beyond appalling - REALLY RUDE FRONT DESK STAFF! After we have checked-in, we got into the room and as we opened the door, a strong smell of damp went into our nostrils and the aircond was blowing hot air. After an hour or so, the aircond was not improving so we called the front desk and asked if we could change the room. They said the hotel was full and sent technician to repair the aircond and spray some air freshener. Both of which did not improve anything. We returned to the room at night and the aircond was even blowing even hotter air. We called again and asked if there is any other room available, as we were prepared to pay extra and upgrade. The front desk staff who spoke on the phone was very rude and used his high voice and sounded very annoyed, suggested we move to another room but we have to return to our original room the next day, as there is other guest checking-in and 'made a request'. As if we are not paid guests who deserve equal treatment! Room was also not properly cleaned - they did not change the glasses or replenish toiletries. Upon check-out, the front desk staff (a grumpy looking male) asked for the room key rudely. ZERO customer service skill. For the same price of this hotel, I could stay at a really good 4-star in the heart of Kuala Lumpur within walking distance to KLCC. Do not even consider staying here.

The hotel has this very strict policy of no "squeezing" of 3 pax into 1 room. Considering the poor service and lack of facilities at the hotel, S$200 per night seems quite pricey. There are far more better hotels around that area and they are just 2-3mins walk away. I dont recommend staying at this hotel.

The room smelled badly and the staff shouted and knocked on our door starting at 8am for room service, repeating every hour! Review 130：The pool view room was amazing.. it really sets our mind away frm our hustling country. Room was big, bathroom was huge n balcony was our relaxed chill out place at night. Foods can be found across n along the street. All in all, a very memorable place for holiday.

Review 131：there is no lift. so for elderly people this might be a problem. the breakfast was not that great. there are lots of cats around the reception and the ground floor area. even spotted one at the restaurant during breakfast.

Review 132：the location was the best thing about the resort. the beach is only a 5 minute walk. the local shops and restaurants are also. easily accessible. the pool view room on the second floor also offered a view of the cliff and a bit of the sea which was amazing. the room and the balcony are quite spacious. the pool is awesome.

Review 133：Very over staffed and all young girls. They mainly stood aroound talking in reception and at breakfast. Can be a little intimidating at times. There was one occassion at breakfast where about 4/5 menbers of staff were all stood around talking and laughing at a guest that tripped up. There didn't look to be a manager or anybody working there over 20 years old except the ladies cleaning the rooms. Wifi didn't work at all in our room, had to go down and sit in reception.

Review 136：large room. very comfortable. the location vey near to the aonang town, very strategic hotel with all the transport facilities. jus a walking distance to the beach, just 5 minutes and also this hotel have a best view of swimming pool

Review 138：-staying with 2kids n 1 infant is quiet good. we requested for baby cord. -not much people. a quiet hotel on weekdays. we can have the pool by ourselves. (u feel relax if u take a book n read near the pool) -breakfast also no rush. -staff at AoNang Orchid is fast in replying email. nt all staff can speaks eng. but the one the reception, all can speak eng -room is gd.we choose the one facing the pool. (note no view if u choose the standard room) -toilet is big with a deep bath tub. -request airport transfer. (pay thb1000 per way) abit expensive but we have the whole van for ourselves. - halal food, booking trips, massage and shopping is just beside the hotel.

Review 139：We been traveling in asia and Thailand for many years....and normally you always fell welcome and and a good service level...but not here - staff was pure and almost mad, and we didn't fell welcome at all - just wondering what kind of management runs a hotel like this... breakfast buffet kind of doll...and half past 9...most of it was out and when we asked for more - we almost felt like "what are we doing wrong - was it something we said"...maybe it was because we came with kids....

Review 140：The location was nice and just a shots walk from the beach....Cleaning staff very nice, and they mad animals with the towels for the kids.

Review 141：The second time we stayed there we were on the 3rd floor and there was no wifi and the room was a little humid
