Reviews for Motel 6 Burlington - Colchester

Review 1:The only thing I didn't find completely amazing was the cleanliness - the corners of the bathroom were dusty and the bed spreads seemed a bit dingy...

Review 2:The staff was super friendly and helpful. The beds were amazingly comfortable. The price was unbeatable. The location was convenient and safe.

Review 3:Everything was fine, except they charge $3.00 per iPad for wi-fi

Review 4:Clean, quiet, secure, well-located, good price. Have stayed there before; will stay there again

Review 5:I stayed here before catching an early flight at Burlington airport. BTV parking is expensive, and it made more sense to stay at this hotel than to pay for parking at BTV, The hotel is spotless, very clean, well located, and with a staff who are attentive and aim to please. I will stay here again. Taxi to airport was approx 16$US., one way.

Review 6:It was old & dirty, people running up And down the halls, suppose to be a non smoking hotel , the elevator there was cigarettes laying on the floor, a water bottle with yellow lquid in the elevator , feared it was a bottle of urine, our room and the halls ways smellled old & moldy and stale ciagretts, we moved to another hotel the very next day , would not recommend this hotel

Review 7:Nothing ,,,

Review 8:You could hear every thing. Doors opening and closing. People talkingwhen going down the hall. The staff was young and out smoking insteadof being at the desk. They also were counting the money drawer infront of us during check in time.(apprentlly it was shift change.)that's bad.

Review 9:It was clean. It is exactly what you see on there web site!

Review 10:Frist room they put us in no working tv.so got moved to another room.frist bed was not clean blood on sheets.shower took about 10mins to get hot water,no water pressure.and bathroom was not cleaned.old soap in shower.and hallway smelled like pot.

Review 11:Location.

Review 12:I read a review that the towels were rough. They are beyond rough. Other than that the hotel was ok. We were on one of several trips to visit colleges and the savings on the room out weighed the economy accommodations.

Review 13:The staff was friendly and very efficient.

Review 14:The entrance was not very clean, the counter had chipped paint. The room floor was not very clean, I walked without shoes and my feet ended black.

Review 15:The hotel is in a good location, near the highway but without the noise. The bed was comfortable. It had an overall good value for money.

Review 16:First upon arrival. @ around 3 30 in the afternoon they didn't even have a room ready for me n I needed to sit in horrible lobby for a good 20 min while in the meantime approximately 5 others checked in with no problem. 2nd it turns out VT hotels all are now non smoking which was very inconvenient. Going into my room felt more like a hospital room. It was very bare (not a pic on walls. ) bathroom very drab and no idea why but was more for a handicap person. The worse part was that they serve absolutely no coffee , juice or anything in the morning. Which means you must go out n luckily McDonald's is within walking distance. I travel quite often n have never stayed anywhere that doesn't have coffee or anything for guests. Finally I stayed 3 nites n believe my sheets n pillow cases were never changed. It was all very disappointing n I would never suggest or recommend it to anyone

Review 17:Not much. Minimum amenities

Review 18:In the two days that I was there the sheets on the bed were never changed we did not receive clean towels or face cloths and there were bugs in the bath tub also the first night we were there there is a barking dog and people laughing and giggling in the hallway until about 3 in the morning the second night the room next door to us that had the teenagers or young adults we're having an argument in the hallway until 3 in the morning staff is nothing to alleviate this problem and when told about it staff stated that they were unaware of the issue we were within 200 feet of the front desk

Review 19:The desk staff was very friendly and greeted with a smile when you walked into the reception area

Review 20:noise from corridors, roomdoor has a quarter of an inch space - more at the bottom, dog barking, you can hear all showers of the house and your neighbors whispering and even feel their movements. No cups in the bath, no shampoo, no hair dryer, just drops out of the tap, water restriction in the shower too, hard to get soap off. Wireless internet is charged, but so slow, that hardly a mail comes through.

Review 21:satisfying clean, firm beds

Review 22:No Kleenex, no hair dryer. Very loud. Dogs don't belong in motels

Review 23:Location, very helpful general manager. He came out and jumped my battery with his own car

Review 24:There were no little thing that you would expect in a hotel. Like no tissue, no alarm clock or blow drier. Otherwise it was ok.

Review 25:Nice room, comfortable bed, nice big shower.

Review 26:Outside smoking area drifted into open window on 4th floor. Bathroom needed nightlight. Pillows not great.

Review 27:Location near Burlington and traveler services. Desk staff pleasant and, helpful.

Review 28:None

Review 29:The hotel was very modern, clean and light. The room was large and comfortable. The young lad on reception when we arrived was very polite and informative. It was only a ten minute drive to both the town centre and the airport.

Review 30:Paying for Wifi Noisy aircon units meant poor nights sleep No plug in bathtub and staff expected one to be collected from reception

Review 31:Easy to find location. Italian restaurant close by

Review 32:the rooms were small and a full size bed for two adults was uncomfortable . thought we would have a continental breakfast. we didn't have any tissues, a soap dish or complimentary shampoo, conditioner. The bath towels were small.

Review 33:the staff was friendly and helpful. the rooms were clean but very small. the location was great.

Review 34:There were hairs on the bed and bed sheet was dirty. At least we got another room. The water pressure was far too low. The coffee was poor. However the staff was helpful and location near interstate.

Review 35:Not very clean, absolutely NO ammenities. No shampoo, no coffee, nothing at all but soap. Their on site laundry was out of detergent.

Review 36:Pet friendly. nothing else to recommend it.

Review 37:There was barely any water pressure in the sink or shower. When we went to the lobby they said they were going "Green" The most stupid statement I have ever heard. I could not even rinse out my heair properly...An I paid for that????

Review 38:Room was stark and bare, no carpet, hard chairs that belonged in a school. The ac screeched and howled every time it came on. We opened the window. Not even a clock or a box of Kleenex. The sink had a water saver device on it, but there was no water pressure and it took forever to get hot water. No hair dryer. Water valve on shower was installed backwards. Towels were small and skimpy. This hotel wasn't worth $50 a night.

Review 39:I didn't really like anything. We were scheduled for two nights in Burlington but cancelled the second night , mostly because of the room.

Review 40:Noisy inside and out. Laminate floors uncomfortable. Only one night table. Terrible coffee in the morning, with whitener. Sink clogged. Two small pillows only. No fridge, no microwave, no coffee maker. Had to pay for internet.

Review 41:Nothing

Review 42:-No free wifi (cost 2,99) -You could hear right through the walls, so when someone opened their door it sounded like they were coming into your room -No breakfast and vending machines were lacking -

Review 43:Colchester is relatively close to Burlington, and also to Essex (the outlets). The staff was nice. The pool was very gross, someone had thrown a box of cheese crackers all over the place, and the pool man spent at least two hours cleaning until it was spotless. Free wifi at burgerking close to hotel

Review 44:Wi_FI does not work even if you pay 3 dollars. The pool is so well hidden that you don't know there is one. You could put a sign in the elevator area where the pool is....

Review 45:Having to pay for WiFi and then not having it work properly. No in room coffee machine. Hotel needs major renovations! It's still living in the 70's! Vinyl laminate flooring not only in the room but in the elevator? It's a tired, worn down building. Too expensive for what is offered.

Review 46:It was clean and the shower curtain didn't stink as in previous Hotels we recently stayed at.

Review 47:1.) no air conditioning in the room and no other room. 2.) hall way smelled of urine (possibly due to it being the pet wing) 3.) stains on bed cover. 4.)the fact that we booked with booking.com seemed to be held against us.

Review 48:The staff was understanding of our complaints but couldn't do anything "since we booked with booking.com"

Review 49:difficulty to connect to the wifi and the person at the reception was alone so I had to go to the front desk twice for internet at another time to have a hairdryer. The second day I had to go back to the reception because our card for the room wasn't working anymore.

Review 50:See above.

Review 51:I could not sleep. The air conditioner did not work and every 20 minutes a loud loud sound would come from the huge area the housed the air conditioner. There were stains on the bed spread and gum stuck to lamented card on the bed. The water pressure in faucet was like a slow leak.

Review 52:why we paying for wifi this day in age.....should be a free service.

Review 53:Fire alarm went off and we appreciated the manager refunding us our night...staff was very friendly.

Review 54:Looks like the policy of the company is minimalism . "Give minimum you can and demand the highest price you can get.. Beside that the woman in the front desk was was perfectly OK

Review 55:No Free WiFi, No breakfast, no water bottles, no tissues, no shampoo, no Hair Dryer, sterile room with NO amenities

Review 56:Desk clerk gave us directions to Vietnamese Restaurant

Review 57:Hotel and room were dirty and outdated. Soundproofing between rooms was inadequate. Maintenance not done properly. (e.g. door jam repair poorly done, caulking in shower missing, etc.)

Review 58:Room felt more like a dorm room. Soap was provided but nothing else. Not even facial tissue. At checkout I noticed coffee in the lobby. No one had mentioned it so I didn't know about it.

Review 59:The price was lower than other places around. The room was clean and basic: a bed, 2 end tables, 2 wooden desk chairs, 2 plastic glasses and a wall unit with table, space for hanging some clothes and TV.

Review 60:The 1st room they gave me was filthy with a toilet full of dirty tissue.the 2nd room they gave me was next to the crew room who were noisy.the sink barely had any water pressure making it impossible to brush your teeth or shave.when I came to the room in the evening there was a waterbug in the room.I wouldn't stay there again of you paid me.on the other hand the desk staff were very polite and professional.

Review 61:No "free" wifi

Review 62:The friendly atmosphere and the convenience of the hotel. Short walking distance to some fantastic restaurants! Unbeatable price!

Review 63:I knew that the price of the motel was inexpensive, however, I did not bring blow dryer so I left with my hair being wet and a mess. The staff was not welcoming or cheerful. They were more interested in their texting. Not impressed.

Review 64:Bed was comfortable

Review 65:If I stay there again, I'll be sure to bring along some sort of small night light for the bath room -- the florescent blast when one is half-asleep is pretty extreme (and terrible).

Review 66:This is my second stay at this motel.

Review 67:the motel is terrible. the room is only surface clean, when they do it. the second night they didn't even clean at all. trash laying all around the building. absolutely no amenities whatsoever. no iron; hair dryer ; shampoo; or tissues. the two small soaps were never replaced, the plastic bag in the ice container was never replaced. when I went to check out the following morning I had to shout and then whistle to get a young man to service me. he was outside having a smoke. I will never again stay in a Motel Six, it was an awful experience. Gary M. Wells

Review 68:There was obvious grime (could scrape it away with my fingernail) built up around corners on the floor. The base of the toilet was not clean. There were large stains on the bedspread.

Review 69:key cards not functionning during the entire stay & hitching while in bed so asked front desk if they always wash entire linen including top comforter as I saw dogs sleeping on bed in another room so flees or tics could have contributed to my hitching maybe from previous clients with pets??????

Review 70:Poor water pressure in shower, and the sink. Down buttons on water heater didn't light up, had to use the up buttons to know that the elevator was working.

Review 71:Clean, and it esd good place to sleep.

Review 72:Keys didn't open the room had new ones made one didn't work at all stuck outside I hallway wife in shower people came inat 2:30 am and were loud like it was 2:30 pm

Review 73:Close to the highway

Review 74:Dogs barking all night long, inconsiderate people running up and down the halls all hours, and people coming to their rooms at 2:09 am and talking loudly.

Review 75:Booked hotel as place to simply rest before completing long journey. Arrived at 11pm police everywhere, drunk guests and what looked liked a bunch of homeless people hanging out in the lobby.

Review 76:Front desk staff

Review 77:At 9pm room still not ready.Moved to 2nd room that had no towels.Plastic bag over smoke detector, previous person was smoking.Could understand why laminate flooring was needed in rooms since everyone we saw was bringing in cases of beer. Very noisy, walls too thin. No soap, no rug/towel for bath floor and tub floor was flexing, plastic tub. This was scary and noisy.

Review 78:Convenient to college and town.

Review 79:we had to change room because the bed was not clean, we found hair on the sheet and the bathroom was not clean.it was a non smoking room but it smells cigarette

Review 80:the location

Review 81:The heater was off when I walked into the room and it was around 50 degrees. There were no shampoo or related items left in the room.

Review 82:location was easy for me to access the airport and there are a few fast food locations within walking distance.

Review 83:This hotel was obviously housing some sketchy characters. We did not feel safe there. The two of us received two noise complaints within 20 minutes.... It was 8pm on a Saturday and I was blow drying my hair and the TV was on... When we complained and asked for our money back so we could leave that hotel and go somewhere else, the gentleman at the front told us we were too loud and it was our own fault. If you stay here beware that the walls are paper thin and it's clearly a party hotel for the people who live there. I would not bring young children to this hotel unless you want them to catch their first sightings of prostitues and drug deals. Don't bring anything valuable, either! Booking.com should not offer this hotel.

Review 84:10 minute ride to DT Burlington

Review 85:No gym or swimming pool; coffee is offered instead of breakfast; room had a smell when I first entered but faded away with time. On top of these, I wished they had toothbrushes and toothpaste included in the toiletries.

Review 86:Simple room setting; spacious room and bathroom. Comfy bed too. The hotel is close to a McDonald's and Burger King and a few mins drive to downtown Burlington. Smiling staff.

Review 87:The bed was too stiff for my liking, but the rest of my family didn't mind. Nob

Review 88:I like the location, friendly staff, and how clean the room is. Awesome value for the price!

Review 89:Train staff on the area in case a guest (like us who are not familiar with the area and lost) to get to the hotel. Have or provide a microwave in the room and a coffee maker. Check the rooms before a guest arrives to be sure that it is heated in the winter and cooler in the summer. Walking to our non-smoking room all we smelt was cigarette smoke in the hallway and when we went into our room there was a plastic bag over the smoke detector in the room. There was no coffee maker in the room and when we called like it said to call for coffee service the front desk told us that the coffee was "down here in the lobby" when we went down for coffee it looked like a homeless shelter. There was only two pillows in our room and the towels were very very rough and as for toiletries there was only two small bars of soap. Lucky we brought our own. Also one of the locks on the window was broken. Also our visa was charged way before we got there. All in all we will NEVER stay at this or other Motel 6 again. The price was WAY to high for the accommodations we experienced.

Review 90:NOTHING!!!

Review 91:Don't expect a top notch accomodation, you get what you pay for. The corridors smelt consistently of smoke.

Review 92:The room was actually quite spacious and the bed was comfortable. Surprisingly it wasn't that noisy either.

Review 93:We booked this hotel for a trip to the University of Vermont. What isn't advertised on their site is that all of the rooms are adjoining, so you have strangers in a room connected to yours. The walls are paper thin and every sound made by the occupants in the next room is amplified. After a long drive to reach the hotel, we were subjected to neighbors that went in and out of their door with multiple guests until nearly four in the morning. The room was relatively clean, but there was a suspicious stain on the bedspread. The bathroom had threadbare towels and one bar of soap. If our son chooses UVM, we will certainly not stay here again.

Review 94:The whole building and the room reeked of cigarette smoke. They are a smoke free facility, but it was obvious people were smoking there and nothing was done about it.

Review 95:The motel room doors are noisy. Too much echo in the corridors. Some of the guests clearly don't know the meaning of consideration, common courtesy.

Review 96:Good location. Clean. Secure inside and out. Courteous staff.

Review 97:Paid a high price for a minimalist type hotel. Room clerk scanned driver licence ' for security'. He deleted the scan when I said I did not like personal incormation stored on hotel computers. I am concerned with identity theft.

Review 98:Hotel is new looking.

Review 99:Spiders in bathroom..inside shower curtain, web behind bathroom door. Spider on floor board on right side of bed. Room never cleaned. Towels yes, cleaned no. Baseboard in bathroom filthy. Hair on walls of shower when we checked in as well as on supposedly clean towels. Very loud noises at night with people coming and going. Bed hard as a rock. No screens on Windows.

Review 100:Not much

Review 101:I liked the location in proximity to Church Street. We were close enough to do the things we wanted in a timely manner. And we were still able to do things outside of South Burlington. Overall, the value and quality was excellent! Next time, I'll take my dog!

Review 102:The walls were a little thin and you could hear people talking in the halls and it made it a little difficult to sleep at night.

Review 103:The staff was very helpful and friendly! The room was clean and the bathroom was very spacious! Would definitely stay there again!

Review 104:No hairdryer, but I brought one just in case anyway, so it wasn't an issue for me.

Review 105:It was reasonably priced compared to all other hotels that were available in the area.It was very clean and served its purpose for why we were there. A place to sleep and take a shower for a few days during a competition. The staff was super friendly.

Review 106:Price was too high for the level of accomodations $76 a night for two; I realize this is Burlington as I lived there teaching for 8 years. But this place was not the Ritz! No comfortable chairs to sit on. The bed was very hard. A special request was made early on my second day that I would require two extra pillows, a blanket, and extra linens for the bath. None were provided. I requested this early enough in the day to enable them to accommodate me. How are two people supposed to use one face cloth??? Outrageous! The water in the sink basically trickes out and is not hot. No ammenities, one had to go to the desk to obtain tiny bottle of shampoo. TV channels did not even include the basic free over the airwaves channels After seeing the room and reading other comments I noticed someone had made on Google there is another Motel 6 that is much cheaper on Shelburne Road! I will not recommend this location or ever stay there again! Not a good place for people with physical ailments.

Review 107:Nothing but the friendliness of the staff and the ability to print email once forwarded to the staff. I was also allowed to make photo copies.

Review 108:Mattress was all stained as was coverlet on bed. Room was extremely sparse no extra towels blankets or pillows. Entire stairway and hallway smelled of marijuana. Towels were so thin and small. We actually looked for another hotel for our second nite but couldn't find one so we were stuck

Review 109:Very stark front desk. We arrived at 10 pm and the metal safety gates were down and there was a heavy glass partition between us and the front desk staff. Made us wonder about the security concerns of the area. We went straight to our room and didn't spend any time wandering around the motel or area. But nothing bad happened.

Review 110:I was given a room that was next to a screaming, loud party. They had a note on their door that said Do Not Knock and Do Not Disturb. The walls of the rooms were so thin I could hear everything going on next door. I complained immediately and then demanded another room when it was obvious they wouldn't stop.

Review 111:Not much but the location.

Review 112:Receptionist jewelry in nose dressed in tee shirt not a good display for a chain motel. Asked for Top fl got main fl no carpet as they allow Dogs. No fridge that I asked for.

Review 113:You would have to pay for the wifi. Really noisy.

Review 114:Okay for 1 or 2 nights, but that's it. It was clean, parking is for free, enough space, nice staff.

Review 115:flat pillows sheets didn't feel clean no shampoo very loud tenants above the room late and early am

Review 116:price parking easy access to Burlington activities

Review 117:No refrigerator, Kleenex, air conditioner did not work, could not get anything from vending machines.

Review 118:It was clean and not far from down town Burlington.

Review 119:We don't usually stay in budget hotels but there were no rooms available in the luxury hotels. We will never stay in a budget hotel again. The accommodations were very sparse and the walls and doors were too thin. We heard noise in the hall all night long. Never Again!

Review 120:Housekeeping is non existent. Came in the morning after we checked in and made a pathetic attempt to make the bed. They left some towels on the counter in the room. In the entire 3 days no emptied the trash, cleaned the bathroom brought more towels after that first time, nor swept or vacuumed the floor. The shower had red and black grout growing up the wall They only had full size bed and only one pillow per person. I was told there were no extras. We had to go out and buy our own pillows!

Review 121:Reception staff courteous, efficient. Handled a smoking incident in the room next door with expedient professionalism

Review 122:No lotion or shampoo in bathroom

Review 123:I thought that the room was clean. I loved that there was no carpet and it didn't smell of some horrible spray. It was convenient too.

Review 124:No carpeting in rooms, cold floors, charge for wiffi, wood furniture making the room look cold and no hair dryer. Stayed at other motels with these same amenities and more, the same price.

Review 125:Clean and neat.

Review 126:No carpets on the floors - no feeling of wondering how long since they were shampooed. Clean lines in the rooms. Beds were comfortable. It was perfect for my daughter and I. Location was ideal for us. Plenty of parking.

Review 127:Rooms are very small, daily charge for wifi, no facilities to speak of, really limited TV channels, soundproofing is very poor

Review 128:Price was lower than other Burlington hotels for the date we stayed

Review 129:The manager there at the time was quite rude. At first check in we had problems. We booked months ahead and over the phone we were told to bring my military ID to show and would receive a military discount. When we went to check in they said they couldn't due to booking.com and when I started to tell them what we were told over the phone the attitude and rudeness came out. Eyes were rolled and as he (the manager) walked away he said something under his breath. So no military discount was received. He said "well you're already getting a deal since our rates now" are such and such. I thought that was part of the point in booking ahead?! The next morning I went to check the desk to see if they had Do Not Disturb signs since there wasn't one in our room. Of course I had to talk to the same guy, who dismissingly replied no and acted as if I was crazy for asking. Another guest in the lobby said she had asked too and ended up just making her own. We did the same, and a couple days later it was stolen by another guest two doors down. From then on we avoided the front desk till check out. Upon check out we realized we were over charged about 75$. When I brought this up there were more eyes rolling and it was quite clear I was the most annoying customer. How dare I want my 75 dollars back. I actually apologized for being a pain in their ass. He suddenly changed his attitude and refunded my 75$ and asked for a good review.
