Reviews for Skellefteå Camping
Review 1:Towels and cleaning not included? Maybe in cheap hostel... And cleaning by myself, otherwise pay extra? Seriously ??
Review 2:I was afraid that heating won't be on but they thought about it and switch it on before so it was already warm inside!
Review 3:There were only few guests in cottages, but all were placed in cottages next to each other. I think that staff could separate guests - it felt a bit crowded on the camping even if there were so few people.
Review 4:Clean, well equipped cottage. Parking place next to each cottage.
Review 5:Some works starting right outside my window at 6 AM!! I wanted to sleep!!
Review 6:Close to hiking areas. A small supermarket available at office schedule. Nice staff.
Review 7:Great location and everything was excellent. Access to large common room area was good as I was able to make meals when I wanted with cooker and fridge. Beds were comfy and bathrooms were large and clean.
Review 8:In this day and age, no one takes towels on holiday, let alone bedding - the charge for renting them seems dated, and makes it appear more hostel like than the slick place it actually is.
Review 9:Good location. Excellent and clean shared facilities. Room plenty big enough for two with all cold weather gear. Nice and warm even in the freezing temperatures. Managed to dog sled, go curling, watch ice hockey, see the aurora borealis, and drive up to the Arctic circle. There are supermarkets (including lidl) close enough. As with all shared facilities, it all depends who you share with - but it's plenty big enough that you don't really get in each other's way.
Review 10:we had to clean the cottage after using it, but we weren't told this and it was just a good luck that i asked the day before what needs to be done before check out.
Review 11:we were very lucky to be upgraded to a big cottage which was very modern, well equiped, warm, excellent view, good wifi connection in the cottage and lovely power shower in modern bathroom. staff were very nice and all spoke great english.
Review 12:If you arrive at Skelleftea Camping on a Sunday as we did, there is no reception open and no mini market to purchase supplies etc and the local garage has none and is UN-helpful sadly. I preseume that because late October is out of summer or winter season, there are NO facilites on the camp site and everything is closed. This is not a complaint, but I would suggest hiring a car from the airport for use whilst staying in Skelleftea because although the Town is within walking distance you may like to do further sightseeing and a car would be better than trying to understand the local bus routes etc. And a car might make viewing the Northern Lights beeter because you could take a drive up the Hills and Mountain for perhaps a better view on a clear night. And take a compass and look up to the north because it could bring tears to your eyes as it did mine.
Review 13:Location of campsite. Walking distance from Skelleftea Town. Perfect accommodation. Lovely interior design and the warmth of chalet. Realistic experience of lifestyle in a Country side location in Sweden without the usual tourist shops and bars etc. Low cost flights from Stansted. Although Northern Lights sihgtings can be hit and miss, we had monitored the weather and fortunately two of our days had very clear skies and on Monday 27th at approx 9.pm there was a KP reading of 3.67 and we were fortunate to wait outside our chalet in the camping ground only to witness and beautiful Green display of the Northern Lights for around 45 minutes. (my lifelong dream ) So clear skies and solar activity permitting, Skelleftea Sweden, and the Skelleftea Camping Ground could be your answer to an in-expensive opportunity to view the beautiful Northern Lights. By the way the local people were very helpful and most people have some knowledge of English too. See the Red Cross Charity shop in the Town Centre, many warm coats, pants and ski boots etc, between 8 and 12 pounds, save you carrying heavy clothing in your luggage. Good luck if your quest is to see the Northen Lights, they are amazing but even if you are not lucky in seeing the lights I'm sure you will love Skelleftea.
