Review 1：The WIFI was poor in the room. The hotel restaurants food was mediocre and expensive - our meals were served cold on both occasions. Breakfast was poor

Review 3：It is one of the oldest hotels at Railay, which can be noticed in the routines. They know what they are doing but there is not a genuine smile anywhere to be seen. The hotel is huge, and works like an industry. It is an industry. With very poor breakfast.

Review 11：Room had mosquitoes. Jaccuzi was dirty and so was the washroom, we didnt wantto even walk barefoot in there. Rooms werent ready on the requested time and the staff was giving arguments like this is not a check out and still we are preparing etc. They shoud have told us on the phone. Food ofocurse is expensive and bad tasting.

Review 19：The room had a very bad smell of sewerage, the water didn't go down in the shower and the toilet didn't function all the time. We asked to move to another room but they said the hotel is fully booked. Moreover, the wifi reception was weak inside the room. In comparison to the price we were disappointed.

Review 27：The amount if staff is chaotic, nobody seemed to know their role. Very disappointed that the hotel ran through my credit card two days before I arrived. I wished to pay by cash and was refused a refund as they didn't wish to pay the bank charges. It is quite clear on booking.com that payments can be cash on arrival, pretty poor and I now have £180 worth of Bahts in my pocket which are useless at home. I urge anyone who enjoys Thai food to steer clear of the restaurant - this is watered down Thai at best. Having arrived from Chiang Mai we had a pretty clear understanding of what good Thai food is like, the stuff churned out at this place is bland and flavourless - I urge you to get around the corner to the Mangrove Restaurant for real food.

Review 28：The hotel is located on the West Railay Beach, quite possibly the most beautiful beach in Thailand. The rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. The hotel pool is pleasant enough.

My friend and i were there only for a couple of days and we didn't use any of the facilities like pool or spa, but the resort has pretty much everything you need. There is a great view of the sunset from the resort deck on the beach, so make sure you get a spot there

Review 33：Brilliant location right on the gorgeous beach of railay west! Room really ice and spacious we had a double Felix room. Had some rain showers during stay however hotel had umbrellas provided in rooms and even had some little snacks in room that were complimentary! Would def recommend great value for money!

Review 34：The bungalows looked as if they were built 20 years ago and nothing has been changed or repaired since then. The pictures on hotel's profile are misleading, in reality everything looks worse. When we arrived, the bungalow had not been even cleaned properly- the floor was dirty and there were opened and half-used beverages of other guests in the fridge. Behind the bed there was a hole in the wall used by lizards and bugs to enter the bungalow. The staff was never smiling. I asked the reception for transfer to the airport. When we contacted them at the checkout it turned out that nothing has been arranged and 'this is my fault' because I should have confirmed the transfer. The problem was that I had been assured that everything was arranged and all I had to do was to check out and get ready for the travel. In the hotel restaurant everything was distasteful and expensive (2-3 times compared to other bars and restaurants). Decisively not worth the price we paid.

Excellent airport transfer service with nice lounge and electric golf carts in both resort side and pier side. You will never get wet in the water to and from the airport.

Review 68：Most railey resorts are quite the same. This one was as great as the others and for a very reasonable price. Pool located right on the beach so you can go back and forth between them.

Review 69：They do not serve alcohol in the restaurant, which would be ok if they would write this in the hotel description. However, there are plenty of options close by. The restaurant closes at 9pm. The pool closes at 8 pm. There are no power outlets by the bed.

Review 70：Location was excellent. The pool was very nice, but it closes at 8pm. Breakfast was good and it varied during our stay. Services included everything you would need, like flip-flops, towels for the beach, beach bag with beach blanket, umbrellas. Bed was comfortable. They have a minimarket and a spa within the resort.

Review 71：We initially booked for 2 nights and we had to book every day for one more night online with a slightly higher rate to extend our stay. It was not possible through the reception, however after booking we could stay in the same room for the additional day. Two days there was no shampoo available (we asked the cleaning lady and she said they are out). Some days the towels changed were torn and very old and bad quality. Even though we practically had 3 check-ins, we never got any welcome drinks. The pictures look better than the actual rooms, as they are a bit old and smell old. One day the staff changed the roof of a bungalow in front of us, so that day all the guests were listening to hammers for around 6 hours long. Not pleasant at all! The restaurant is more expensive then the ones on the other side of the peninsula so if you don't mind walking 3 minutes, better chose the other ones. Very bad wifi signal, people were staying at the reception at the waiting area staring at their phones because in the rooms the signal was poor.

Review 72：Good breakfast, but mostly the same every day. Make sure you arrive in time so you get a place to sit (especially if it rains) and enough food. Very nice and quiet pool area, amazing view of the sunset and beach near the restaurant. Good place to visit if you like hiking and relaxing.

Review 88：The location is amazing! The room was about a minute walk to the beach. The pool and the restaurant are just by the beach and it was a great fun to watch the sunset while eating dinner. It is very convenient that you can walk through the resort from one side of Railay to the other (the other ways aren't very lighten and convenient) The room was spacious, very clean and seemed new, awesome huge bed, big bathroom with big shower and bath tab , both very clean and comfortable ( and the floor stayed dry after we used it) The room facilities included umbrellas which . was great due to the rainy season. in addition we had a flashlight which was also very useful to tour the streets when it was dark The room was 2nd floor so we had nice view of the mountain. The cleaners did a good job every day, especially after we left 20bht tip under the pillow :) The staff were kind and they took us and our begs from one side of the resort to the other when we checked in and out

Review 89：I loved Railay beach. My favorite place in Thailand. This was the best hotell we stayed at as well. If we go back there we will stay there again. Loved it!

Review 90：The service in the hotel is very poor, makes you want to leave the hotel. Seems that they don't care about their guests. The wifi didn't work in the room at all, they said someone is repairing it, but didn't work for 3 days. Breakfast is not so good. If you come at 9:30 they don't refill the food, even it closed only at 10:00. We had to wait for 5 minutes until someone took care of a clean table for us- every morning! No umbrellas to the sun beds. When we checked out they wanted us to pay for water that was missing in the mini bar, but we didn't drank it. We explain that we bought our own water but they didn't believe us and start searching in the trash for a bottle, and argue with us. Not so good behavior .

Review 91：On the west side of raily beach, big and clean room (we stayed at the grand delux room). Pool is nice. If you ask they will take you to the east pier and help you with the lougedge

Review 97：The cottage was decent and the pools were really good there. Went swimming in the pool one morning and saw monkeys in the trees, it was awesome. Situated right on Railay beach and the cottages have a good level of privacy from each other. Comfortable bed with good sheets and very clean.

We were in the pool at 6pm, it closes at 8 and one staff tried cleaning it early and we told him it closes at 8 and he just threw in chlorine while we were in the pool! Also, the cleaning service do not change the sheets. The whole 2 weeks we were there we had the same stains on our sheets, they just re-make the bed. Excellent location but horrible staff!

In peak hours you cannot connect at all. Same relates to water in peak hours - it was not enough for all visitors, once I was standing in the shower in soap waiting 20 minutes for water to come back after full cut. Breakfasts were lousy, it lookes like there is a selection of meals but actually nothing to choose, and quality of meals, drinks and ingredients was poor. The only edible part of breakfast was fruits. Overall this hotel has 3* and this is maximum it is worth. I do not understand why someone may rate it above 6-7. Yes, there is not a big choice at Railay, but it does not mean that Sand Sea Resort is a good place.

Review 103：Very good location in the middle of Railay Beach West and 2 minutes walk from East pier. Good facilities and infrastructure inside of the hotel territory.

Review 126：The only way to get to the hotel is by boat, and the earliest one is at 7am, so arriving/leaving the hotel is conditioned by the boat schedule/weather. That may affect your flight schedule. We were 2 couples and neither of us had hot water when we arrived. We talked to the hotel stuff and they fixed our friends´but we had to shower with cold water until we leaved 3 days later, even we told the staff every day - and the last day little water came out of the tap. You need to enter user and password everytime you want to use wifi, and the signal was really weak in the rooms - we we unable to connect our phones for a couple of days.

It is located right next to the beach and the restaurant is literally one step away from the beach. The hotel provides an unbelievable and extraordinary transfer to the airport. It looks like an impossible mission movie since you jump from a golf car to a boat, followed by another golf car and a final car/van ride.

Review 144：Many of the staff were slow to help or provide service. Cost of trips or laundry was much more expensive than elsewhere. Seemed they didn't want the business. We needed to get our cocktails from walking street, as they didn't sell alcohol.

Review 146：Extremely unfriendly staff who speak poor english. We had just come from a very friendly and welcoming resort on Ko Pha Ngan. We traveled all day to the Sand Sea Resort and were excited for Railay Beach until we checked in. Receptionist wasn't at the front desk upon arrival and when someone finally came they didn't even acknowledge us. We had to say something until we were finally noticed. Room was ok but the bathroom was disgusting I found cockroaches in the shower. The food in the mini bar was old and not edible. We had to throw away the snickers bar and they tried to make us pay for it anyway. Front desk person actually had staff go in to the room to go through the trash and dig up the uneaten snickers bar to see if we were lying or not about it being old. She took the snickers and sniffed it which I found shocking and distasteful. Restaurant is overpriced for the quality of the food. I will not be back again and I will not recommend this resort to friends.
