Reviews for Casa Sesimbra
Review 1:- Extremely noisy. Everything happening outside sounds like it happens inside. There was also a lot of noise coming from the apartment upstairs. - The kitchen equipment was limited. E.g. coffee maker, oven\microwave, water boiler were missing. And more glasses and pans would have been nice. - The door to the bathroom could not be closed - The door to the little patio was always open (nobody can enter this place, but it would have been nice to be able to reduce the noise from outside) - No wardrobes in the bedrooms - Unstable (and therefore unpractical) tables - The manager collecting the money did not speak English. And she did not have any change (weird, since the very precise amount of money (including euro cents) we had to pay)
Review 2:+ Perfect location! Just 1 minute walk to the beach and in the middle of the city center. + clean apartment + good beds (hard matrasses, as we like it) + good shower with a lot of water. Though: not for peoples taller than 1.80m + nice cool apartment + free parking only 300 meters walk
Review 3:Ants in the flat (kitchen). Some people might find the stairs too steep. Price was high compared to e.g. Lisbon, but Sesimbra seems to have elevated prices, so this place offers value for money.
Review 4:Overall very clean (apart from the ant problem). Excellent location near the beach/cafes/restaurants/shops. Bathroom very nice. WiFi was good. Everything worked well and there were no problems whatsoever. The owners let us check in early, too. Despite the heat outside, the flat was nice and cool.
Review 5:The stairs to the apartments are very steep so would not suit people who are infirm in any way or inebriated for that matter.
Review 6:The apartment is located in the old area of Sesimbra. We felt connected staying there. The apartment itself has an airiness and an old world charm. Very clean. Great value.
Review 7:Awful chairs to sit on. Terrible sofa we kept falling off. We would have liked that someone was there, when we came. We needed to be able to get in. I had no WiFI. It took all day before we where told how and where our room was.
Review 8:Good bed We liked the location.
Review 9:As other reviewers noted, instructions, rules etc. are a little overstated - but I think they're trying to check all the boxes so folks don't have questions, the antique bedspread is nice touch, but if it's not functional, it's maybe not needed.
Review 10:excellent location, good value for the money, spotless apartment, many of the other options in Sesimbra are more touristy, massive hotels - appreciated being on a street that made us feel more part of the town, very responsive owners, loved staying here.
Review 11:Not so many windows, and no place to sit outside.
Review 12:Lots of space, nice furnishing, nice bathroom, good kitchen, good location, comfortable beds.
Review 13:The many explanations and rules on how to get in and how to behave make it too complicated. Also construction going on outside is very noisy.
Review 14:Nice litlle studio in the very center. Nice design and overall atmosphere.
Review 15:Sofa unusable. Instructions provided were clear, however there was no information provided about Sesimbra.
Review 16:Location, quiet street, easy public transportation from and to Lisboa. Working fishing port worth a visit. Apt had easy access. Clear instructions were provided.
Review 17:Very little to say on the negative side, only minor things: food preparation utensils are scarce if you want to do something elaborated. Finding a parking place nearby can be difficult. Sofa could be bigger to fit at least the 4 people that the apartment can accommodate.
Review 18:Most of the important aspects you seek when looking to rent an apartment can be found in Casa Sesimbra: very good location, spacious, clean, well decorated (combining modern with old features of this typical house).
Review 19:We had the Studio flat, avoid that one. Old oppinions were cancelled, maybe because they were negative and stating the flat at groud floorwas moldy and full of humidity? The stairs were very very steep, notsuitable for elderly persons and children!!! The flat is badlyrestaured, blighted nails on the floor, you risk a visit to the localhospital for an anti-tetanus injection. Old and not well closing doorsand windows, very noisy - we were driven crazy by the wash machinenext to our working for 4 hours during the afternoon when you mightwant to have a nap, and by the noise of water pipes when used by theother flats, it was just tremendous. Very small bathroom, shower withblocked gutter. Kitchen poorly fitted, no microwave, the only tablewas the crooked one on balcony but not usable, so we had to eat on thebed or standing up by the counter top of the kitchen. A lot of"don'ts" list, do not use the hand made bed cover, donot fry, do not walk with shoes because the old floor is making noise(but how can you protect your feet from nails???). Poor furniture, dirty couch. Just above your bed it has a small window to the stairs,so...no privacy.
Review 20:Great position, very close to beaches and restaurants and bars, typicalold building nice from outside. Nice induction stove, very quick to heatup. Nice terrace and large cloth drier on the terrace.
Review 21:A lack of daily light in the apartment. It is just to know that it is a traditional urban Portuguese house.
Review 22:Michael and Cristina are very helpful hosts. Always responded quickly to all my mails. Clear and tidy apartment. Perfect location.
Review 23:Some flies buzzing around due to a window left open (for fresh air, Iassume) before our arrival. This made me give it a "good"rating for the above "clean" rating, rather than an"excellent" rating.
Review 24:Beautiful, classic apartment. Sufficient room to relax. Right in thecenter of town. Good value for the money. Feeling of independence andfreedom living in this apartment for several nights.
Review 25:Parking is always a squeeze in these small towns but we always managedto find a spot within a block or 2.
Review 26:Michael and Christina went out of their way to help us when our car wasbroken into at a viewpoint. They also responded almost immediately toour emails. Casa Sesimbra is a typical/tradional unit in an olderbuilding but has been totally renovated with a classy mix of the old andnew. It is just around the corner from the beach. The induction stovetop is amazing.
