Reviews for Complex Hotelier Steaua de Mare - Hotel Delfinul

Review 1:At the time when we visited the hotel (September), there was no way of getting anything to eat or drink (not even water) in the hotel after 7pm. I had to get to the town center for a bottle of water...

Review 2:The hotel was located near the beach. There was a children playground just near the hotel.

Review 3:The room wasn't kept very clean. The carpet was dirty and it stunk because the air donditioning unit was dripping water on it. In the 5 days we stayed there, the sheets were never changed even though they claim to do that every 2 days. The windows were very dirty, spoiling the view. The beach close to the hotel was VERY small and rocky. There weren't enough deck chairs to cover all guests that had the all inclusive package. The wi-fi was extremely poor, unusable. Not enough parking spaces. Had to struggle to find one, not close to hotel.

Review 4:The hotel is very close to the beach. The view from our 11th floor room was great. There were quite a few play areas for my son to play in.

Review 5:Horrible hotel, 14 floors and fully booked with two lifts (!) taking max 7 persons. Staff at reception not service-minded at all, worst of all the all-inclusive buffet looking like the battle of Stalingrad

Review 6:The shower was leaking and after you took a shower there was water all over the place on the bathroom floor. The wifi signal in the room was very weak. Also the room wasn't as cleaned as I expected. Stayed 2 years ago here and the conditions where better.

Review 7:We did like the view of the sea from the 11th floor where we stayed, the sunrise is beautiful (not all the rooms have great sea view even if the room description say so - you need to take the corner rooms). Some issues with room cleanness but overall it was good value for money (we had the non all-inclusive package).

Review 10:The personal is to bad. They try to put a big price for the rooms and they said the pool is free, but is free just for all inclusive, at a big price...

Review 11:I like condition of rooms

Review 12:I got a room near a balcony used for smoking and in some cases I couldn't leave the window open.

Review 13:The hotel is clean, located right next to the beach. Is has a very nice pool with sea water, very handy in early period of the year when you can't really swim in the sea but you can do that in the pool.

Review 16:The Wifi wasn't turned on in the hotel, only at the pool. The rooftop bar wasn't opened yet, but they did grant access to the roof - which can be a bit dangerous for unsupervised kids (or even grownups), for example.

Review 17:Not fully booked, so there were nice rooms available and plenty of room at the pool. The rooms were clean, the staff was as friendly as we've gotten used to them. All in all... great value for money.

Review 18:The size of the room is preety small.

Review 19:The room was nice, I was there on 1st of May and I really appreciated that I was able to warm the room, since it was preety cold outside. The room and the bathroom were cleaned up and they changed our towels daily. Also the restaurant looks very nice, I"ve only eaten there once and i liked it.

Review 20:- wi-fi without internet connection (they solved the problem after 3 days) - Staff were bothered by any complaint and without intention to solve problems -hotel offers self-service breakfast, but in 2 of 3 mornings I was moved from the table because the table, they say "is reserved", although there was no sign of reservation on the table and the restaurant was only 10% ocuppied (before 8 am in the morning) - in the room there was dirt stains on the carpet, the toilet seat was broken and there was rust on the shower and the battery sink, window curtain was only half hanged,(no shampoon in the room). - everything else was ok.

Review 21:Excelent location, on the sea side, you can hear the wave noise from the room window, and practically the exit from the hotel is the entrance to the beach

Review 22:Hotel is really a THREE stars one and NOT a FOUR stars one! Pay attention to this if you expect four stars because you WILL be dissapointed! bookingdotcom Photos showed bicycle rental center which was closed because summer season ended (even if the weather was SUPERB for biking) Bookingdotcom Photos showed terrace on the top floor - again, CLOSED in september. When exiting the elevator, you have to struggle to get out through hordes of retired uneducated old people who rush to get into the elevator BEFORE you get a chance to exit. Probably because during their lifetimes in the communist era did the same while entering crowded buses. We changed the initial room because the carpet stinked because of many years in use under wet atmosphere. The cleaning ladies only bring toilet paper but did nothing else except when asked specifically (to get new towels for example). Aspirator? What is that? Only when you check out! Ps:booking dot com, please do not strip my comments. Last time I endeavoured for half an hour to write a fairly complete review and you only posted one positive phrase and one negative. i hope you're not wasting my time again!!!

Review 23:As with many other Romanian Black Sea hotels built by brilliant Romanian engineers during Ceausescu ruling period, all rooms have sea view due to trapezoidal shape We asked for a higher level floor and staff did kindly offered one. We asked to change the room and they were kind to do it.

Review 24:Bads to smal and to low to thw ground, no summer pilow to cover yourself only sheets. The mattress is hard like a stone.

Review 25:The location is good and the view it's super!

Review 26:The staff. Really bad, we had to tell them to clean our room twice and it took them 5 days to write an invoice :)

Review 27:Overall it's a very nice hotel. Been there 3 years in a row. Excellent location close to the beach, good services, good breakfast, great prices!

Review 28:- smell in the bathroom - poor services for all inclusive: no bottled water in the room, no bottled drinks at dinner/lunch - only 2 elevators, wait is 10-15 mins.

Review 29:- close to the beach - clean rooms - private parking

Review 30:No wi fi, not enough chairs at the pool , as a customer you feel humiliated by staff, no toilet rolls, dirty tilets in the reception area, they don t understand what all inclusive means, a total waste of money

Review 31:No balcony They don't answer the phone All inclusive means you don't have mini bar (not even with money) nothing (after 21.00 you have to buy yourself or else you don't have) late checkout : ripoff +2h = 50% room price !! 2h is not late check out, more is not posibile even if announced at booking time ! Average food, fruits = only watermelon at lunch Few pool chairs and crowded pool. Beach chairs have to be payed (they don't belong to the hotel) All inclusive = average buffet meals and draft drinks, wine, beer, few alcooholic drinks At every meal the plates were wet (moist after washing)

Review 32:close to beach nice sea view clean room

Review 33:locatia

Review 34:Room is too small No balconies in the hotel

Review 35:Location. And family atmosphere. Food

Review 36:Felicitari domnului Doru pentru coordonarea si mentinerea la standarde inalte a restaurantului.

Review 37:No access to pool if not all inclusive

Review 38:The view

Review 39:Location, comfort, the view

Review 40:No fruits for breakfast

Review 41:The location, staff, rooms with sea view, comfortable bed, rich breakfast, clean rooms

Review 42:The AC didn't work in our room.

Review 43:The view,location,cheap.

Review 44:Smelly, old and musty carpet; No balcony to dry the towels No wi-fi in rooms

Review 45:the view from all rooms; outdoor playground; helpful staff

Review 46:elevator

Review 47:the view comfort personal food

Review 48:Bad wireless, the restaurant could use more staff.

Review 49:Overall the hotel is fine.

Review 50:Bathroom and window

Review 51:- response/care towards issues. Had issues with the facilities and was not willingly to come take a look and find out what was going on. Finally just moved us. Then the bathroom flooded and they came and just temporarily fixed it until it floods again. Did not discount or move us. - did not notify of all bills/fees ahead of time and had us pay bill in advance. At check out asked for additional money stating we had to pay taxes all of a sudden!

Review 52:Location

Review 53:There is no balcony where you can dry the beach towels.

Review 54:The hotel is very close to the beach, quite clean. They have coatbeds for babies, highchairs in the restaurant area, spaces where children can play (indoor and outdoor). A very good option for families with small children. We had just breakfast and the food was decent, I don't know for lunch and dinner.

Review 55:No minibar and only 3 children seats at the restaurant. Which is a very low number considering the fact that this is a family oriented hotel.

Review 56:Very close to the seaside, excellent value for money, good breakfast, BIG bed. I highly recommend this hotel. It's my second time here and it was great!

Review 57:Absolutely hated the restaurant: they had the same cheap and unhealthy breakfast every day. Also, the food was altered some days. The staff from the restaurant was very rude. Overall it had a cheap look and feel so I decided to not even bother with it.

Review 58:It is clean. Cleaning and reception staff were nice. Also, my room had beautiful seaside view.

Review 59:The pool sunbeds reservation process is very defective and the staff does not know how to handle situations they are causing themselves. I had a very bad experience with the girl who claimed she was managing the pool activities, even though I was offered a spot by her boss. I will not be more explicit, because it's not our style. If I were the manager, I would certainly buy a computerized pool management system for booking the sunbeds. Even though I've been really unhappy with the experience, which made us leave the pool even though we paid, I will not downgrade the hotel's mark due to this. I think that in the hospitality sector, from the top manager to the lowest rank, everyone should be client orientated. Always have a backup plan and write down a note whenever a client is unhappy and make sure you don't do that mistake again.

Review 60:Location: pretty far away from the city center and all the buzz, which was good for us. We had the silence and privacy we needed and went to city center when we wanted to experience the crowds. Walking distance until city center is around 20 minutes, on the clock. Surroundings are not well maintained at all, however it is not the responsibility of the hotel, probably the local authorities being responsible.Rooms: the rooms size are indeed small, not a 4* standard, but the facilities you would find at a normal hotel are pretty much there. We rented a double room, probably the apartments have enough space. All rooms have a beautiful sea view but you don't have a balcony. However the chairs and coffee table are positioned strategically so you can enjoy that in the mornings. We noticed that the room was frequented every day by the cleaning lady, but I think you have to request for your room to be cleaned up, not just expect it. Otherwise they will just take out the garbage and complete/change whatever they think is necessary.Pool: we are almost sure that the water in the pool comes from the sea directly, but filtered properly. Don't expect it to be your ordinary pool from the heart of the town, but it is pretty nice. We were fortunate enough to have the water crystal clear since it was changed over the night. You can enter for free and rent a sunbed for around $5 if you're a hotel customer.Beach: the beach is indeed around 100m away from the hotel. It is small, but if you get up early you can easily get a sunbed without making a reservation, but it gets very crowded eventually. You can rent a sunbed for around $6.Restaurants: we are only aware of the one right next to the hotel, which they call "Braserie" where the staff was very polite and the food was very good and the one on the 14th floor where they only serve quick snacks, drinks, cakes and offering one of the most charming views in Eforie.

Review 61:Small rooms, crowded elevators.

Review 62:Far away from pretended 4 stars this hotel it is a good, decently, pretty clean 3 stars hotel with non pretentious breakfast and smallrooms, all with a beutifull sea view.

Review 63:very small rooms no balcony lack of parking spaces * it's not related to the hotel, but one major problem are the tourists (especially Romanians). 70% of them are acting as rednecks (they take huge quantities of food from breakfast, just because they can and they probably eat out of it for the rest of the day). Many don't know how to use the elevator - typically for Romanians who cannot wait, they press all buttons (up and down) so because of that the elevator stops every single floor even if there is nobody there... etc. The effect is that the elevators are taking even more time because of this stupidity.

Review 64:beach proximity friendly staff child friendly nice see view beach and sea water not clean

Review 65:clearly not a 4 star hotel, ill-mannered staff, awful smell in the bathroom, small bathroom (no place for the toilet bag), dirty pool and chaise-longues, crowded and dirty beach near the hotel, very long wanting time for the only two elevators in the entire hotel. Also, on the hotel's website it is said that all the rooms have sea view, which is a lie, most of the rooms either have no view over the sea, or at best, only a partial view, very few rooms (such as mine) have full view. There are also very few places in the hotel's parking, such that most people can not use this parking. The worst for us was the hotel's on-site restaurant and 'brasserie', we eat only there and we all had food poisoning (my 3-year-old child was sick for 5 days).

Review 66:wonderful view over the sea (I got one of the few rooms with panoramic view over the sea), the terrace on the hotel's roof also offers a splendid view

Review 67:Breakfast food choice could be improved, rooms could have better sound insulation towards hallways, windows open fully and are a danger for small children. Need to pay for pool chairs. Parking places should be managed better. The beach next to the hotel was below any standard.

Review 68:Friendly and competent staff, nice restaurant with low waiting times, good food on the menu, very nice view from upper floors. Pool was clean. Good noise insulation towards outside.

Review 69:- the hotel has 233 rooms 14 floors and ONLY 2 ELEVATORS, i waited 3 min. to get one. - i did not have a parking space for my car. (only 30 spaces for all hotel). - the smell in the bathroom. - the noise from next room's bathroom when somebody take a shower, really woke me up. - poor and low quality breakfast. - expensive for what they offer.

Review 70:VERY (!) crowded undersized beach with extra charge. Filthy water in the pool (extracherged too). Not enough parking spots. Rather small rooms, no balconies. Standard breackfast no fruits whatsoever. Waiting for the lifts 1/2 of stay (!).

Review 71:Average 3* hotel. See and harbor view from upper floors. Free parking.

Review 72:- it is a little far away from the center, which is not necessarily a minus ;) - I had to pay in advance for the room (quite uncommon for 4 star hotels). - after we left the room for checkout the lady from the front desk asked someone to go check the room - it was ok but felt like in the 80's

Review 73:- very nice rooms with splendid sea view - very good breakfast - nice and helpful staff - on top of the hotel there's a lounge bar - the bartender is quite a nice guy and he does good cocktails All in all - very good hotel at a good price.

Review 74:Very small rooms, the food at breakfast was always the same and poor inchoices. The elevators are hard to use when the hotel is booked. If youstay on a middle floor, you will have difficulties in getting it to stopat your floor without being already full.

Review 75:Got a good price (100 euro / 4 nights / 2 person with breakfastmid June). We reserved a double bed room and they gave us a twin bedroom. But after our complaints, they changed our room. The hotel isrecently renovated, looks good. There is a swimming pool a few stairsdown from the hotel, next to the beach. It was free for the hotelresidents, including sun-beds and umbrella (though I think during peekseason it costs some money).

Review 76:Rooms preety small but nice and clean. Beach is small in that part of resort but compensated with the pool. Breakfast should have more variety like fruits.

Review 77:I was spending a weekend with my family. This hotel was a nice surprise. Was clean and was smelling nice. Is a quiet area and you can have free bicycle to ride. As well there are playing areas for kids. My daughter enjoyed the swimming pool as lot of kids played there. Lot of restaurants at 5-10 min walking area. We recommend the place.

Review 78:The reception is awful, they even gave me a room that was already occupied - so quite an embarassing situation. Then, after some days the reception manager (worst I ever seen) did not know that they changed my room, so they believed I was already checked out. Really messed up.

Review 79:-Near the beach; - Quite clean; - It is more a 3 stars hotel.

Review 80:The loud music from the Panoramic bar (until 5 AM). The rooms do not have a balcony

Review 81:I was quite impressed with this hotel. The room were really clean, the staff was friendly and willing to give you any information you needed. We had breakfast included and it was ok, not that many choices, but enough to start the day. Also the location is great if you are looking for a quite place (during the day) near the beach. It is 20 minutes walk from the main street. They also have a panoramic bar that is opened starting 10 PM.

Review 82:Very poor breakfast, room carpet dirty, walls a bit dirty too. Broken toilet seat, no shower curtain, clogged up sink (no drain). We paid about 35 euro/night, but I wouldn't spend more on this hotel.

Review 83:The sea-view.

Review 84:Everything..and I will recommend it for every decent couple. Splendid place, romantic rooms, good and decent food and, the most important, a perfect staff..

Review 85:Small rooms, poor breakfast

Review 86:Location, free wifi in rooms

Review 87:-long wait for the elevator -medium quality food for breakfast

Review 88:-friendly staff -one could fall asleep listening to the waves -

Review 89:wonderful!
