Reviews for River Rock Lodge
Review 1:We were charged $25 for an old pack 'n' play that you can buy for $50 new, so I felt ripped off in that sense. Most other hotels provide much nicer cribs for free. Also the hot tub was old and needed to be cleaned and the breakfast was mediocre.
Review 2:The staff was very friendly and helpful. The location was very convenient.
Review 3:Hot tub broken entire stay. In room tub was "ok" but smallish. View from room was parking lot.
Review 4:Location Friendly, helpful, smiling staff. Loved Joanne!
Review 5:Room claimed to accommodate 4 people, but it had only 2 chairs and no sofa, so there was no place for the other 2 people to sit. Breakfast choices were limited and overly sweet. No food for a diabetic adult except for fruit. Difficult to get a healthy start to the day. WiFi was fine when working but often failed.
Review 6:Clean safe quiet room. Convenient parking. Refrigerator and kitchen sink in room. Helpful staff.
Review 7:Breakfast attendant was lacking but she may have been too busy.
Review 8:Very clean, cozy & comfortable. Very helpful staff. Great location, near Yellowstone & local shopping / restaurants.
Review 9:The beds were extremely uncomfortable. Place needs to be updated . The electrical outlet in bathroom kept tripping.
Review 10:It was fairly quiet. Close to the town square and park.
Review 11:I was surprised for what we paid that the floor in our room had not been vacuumed. It's nice light colored carpet and there was dirt and gravel on the carpet and it was clear it had not been vacuumed. Also, there was some kind of a grape/berry(I didnt pick it up) on the floor right under the bed. Yuck. I'm also surprised by the Native American blankets on the bed. They added nice color and decor but I highly doubt they are "washable." And for someone with allergies, definitely had itchy eyes from the pillows/blankets or something. I would have preferred a comforter. TV very small with few channels Didn't have breakfast because we were on the road before 7:00. Would have been nice to have breakfast start by 6:30. I was disappointed in general by the lack of friendliness in Big Sky. We asked if we could check in early and the guy at the desk acted like we were crazy and didn't offer much info on the area.
Review 12:Location is nice close to road so can get back on to head to Yellowstone. Nice decor with beautiful furniture. Quiet.
Review 13:Refrigerators froze food. Wifi didn't stream very well. How about adding hard boiled eggs for breakfast?
Review 14:Beautiful facility. Nice vintage photos and beautiful wood work.
Review 15:There was not enough parking, so if you pulled in late, you were on the hunt. There was a rowdy bar nearby, but they cannot help that. We could not leave the patio door open at night, because of it. The hot tub broke, but again things happen.
Review 16:Really comfortable and small hotel, right in the mix of Big Sky.
Review 17:No elevator, but there are only two floors. It's about 45 minutes to drive to West Yellowstone entrance, but it's a nice drive.
Review 18:Beautiful ski lodge. The beds were really comfortable. Very large clean room. Great shower. Plenty of plugs for gadgets. Adorable and clean town. There is a laundromat across the parking lot. Walking distance to food and drinks. Nice continental breakfast set up too. Super nice staff.
Review 19:Room cleaning only once per week; rooms and bathrooms need to be renovated by the vacation rental owners ASAP as they're quite dated; no/very little insulation in walls and ceilings doesn't minimize noise from adjacent and rooms above; poor choices of in-room coffee and supplies
Review 20:Friendly, helpful and amenable staff; good location if you don't want to be or can't afford to be on the mountain
Review 21:Noisy water pipes (per staff, haven't been able to fix since the county required Red Rock to put a water saving device in). Doors slam easily & loudly.
Review 22:Great location. Friendly staff. Comfortable bed and room.
Review 23:Water pressure of shower wasn't great. The driveway was very icy. Wifi was a bit weak.
Review 24:Convenience of location to local restaurants and mountain - central to Big Sky. Spacious, comfortable rooms with a decent sized fridge. Style and cleanliness of the hotel.
Review 25:Music!!! There should be music playing and fire in the fire place or candles or flowers. The impact fealt 'dead' and some music and ambiance upon walking in would be great. Staff choice on Pandora!
Review 26:This is a sweet place. The staff was great and it is in th village at Big Sky! Perfect!
Review 27:Weak Wi-fi, poor reading light in the room, slamming room doors, skimpy selection of tv channels.
Review 28:Comfortable beds, great breakfast, and perfect location.
Review 29:Little sound proofing from guests upstairs. Poor wifi reception in our room. Longer drive to Yellowstone.
Review 30:Comfortable spacious rooms. Good breakfast. Helpful staff.
Review 31:We stayed at the Lodge while we were visiting Yellowstone. The 50 minute commute each way was a little bit long to do each day.
Review 32:River Rock Lodge was very comfortable and clean. We reserved a room here for our visit to Yellowstone when our other accommodations fell through at the last minute. There was a lot to do around Big Sky and the surrounding area. It was about a 50 minute drive to Yellowstone.
Review 33:carpet is old, hot tub not clean and I am not talking about the leaves rather the water had not been treated properly.
Review 34:In the mountains, beds were nice and the sliders open. Close to several places.
Review 35:Nothing really. Wi-fi was weak in the room, but the signal was strong in the lobby/lounge areas, and those areas are beautiful and comfortable to sit and relax in, so not really an inconvenience at all. Considering the hotel is in the middle of Montana, where you can drive 100 miles without a cell signal, this is really a non-issue for us. No complaints!
Review 36:We LOVED this hotel! It was a perfect mix of comfort and convenience, with an extremely friendly and helpful staff, thoughtful amenities, and beautiful rustic, cozy decor. This may be our favorite hotel ever. It was also exceptionally clean and quiet with a family atmosphere and all the traveling necessities within walking distance (restaurants, grocery store, shops, etc.--even a farmers' market). Great continental breakfast and nice lounge areas, too. Would highly recommend!
Review 37:Housekeeper did not meet my standards. Bed was made messy and coffee pot not cleaned after the first day of stay. The room was nice and tidy the first day and then less care was taken the last six days of our stay.
Review 38:Great location. Real comfortable.
Review 39:Owner was very rude. I will never go back to a place that would talk to people the way he did us. He has some serious anger problems.
Review 40:Staff was great and helpful. Good thing because the owner needs some PR lessons.
Review 41:We have anyways loved the lodge. So friendly and warm, almost like being home for the holidays.
Review 42:The breakfast was poor
Review 43:Very nice room Nice place
Review 44:Great place to stay In Big Sky area, close to other facilities Room on first floor better than ground floor.
Review 45:Nothing.
Review 46:We loved the location, within walking distance to restaurants, and the friendly staff
Review 47:Spa was not open
Review 48:I liked it all
Review 49:Everything is excellent.
Review 50:fantastic location great room good staff
Review 51:Hotel is ready for an update. Keys don't work well. Walls and ceiling very thin so neighbors noise is a problem.
Review 52:friendly staff
Review 53:Breakfast, reception in lobby when we arrived and we were included, nice suggestions for restaurants nearby. All good.
Review 54:Cozy reading areas throughout.
Review 55:Almost everything
Review 56:I have stayed at many Hotels/Motels/Lodges in my life. Having to know "the trick" to get the key to turn in the door, dirty towels left in the bathroom hamper from the prior guests, failure to restock soap and shampoo and leaving pillows on the floor after housekeeping has been there, do not "fit" with a 200 plus dollar a night room. I would expect this sort of thing at a Motel 6.
Review 57:Location, décor, just a beautiful place. Matches the area of Big Sky perfectly.
Review 58:Breakfast quite light compared to Buck's T4 hot buffet breakfast. Also, wish there was access to a pool, even if it was offsite. Also wished there was a treadmill or some fitness equipment.
Review 59:Nice accommodations, albeit a little spendy based on no pool or fitness facilities.
Review 60:Hotel was 50 miles north of where we wanted to be. I was unaware of that when I booked it. Hotel was a bit difficult to find, as the photo does not reflect what the front of the property now looks like. Trees have grown up and the signage is difficult to see.
Review 61:We stayed at 5 hotels during our trip and all were nice. Staff and furnishings were A+++. Comfortable bed, slept like a baby. Staff were especially helpful in recommending places to eat and such.
Review 62:We stayed only four days.
Review 63:Quiet place, very friendly and helpful staff. Nice building and decorations, nice room. Spotless clean. Good local brewery at less than 5 minutes driving distance.
Review 64:The curtain covering the sliding door was so thin, it didn't block any light. Also, the TV had such a short cord that you couldn't pull it forward, therefore it was stuck back in the cabinet.
Review 65:The convenience to the village, being within walking distance to shops and restaurants.
Review 66:room was dark (106) - Lighting could be improved. Add a computer with printer to the desk in the "sitting corner" for business/guest use.
Review 67:Very nice continental breakfast spread. Good coffee. Loved the cinnamon bread. Comfortable bed. spacious room. friendly lobby - areas to sit and read or visit. Like free WiFi. Freindly staff.
Review 68:Wish it would have been a little lower in price. Once the taxes and fees were added on, the price didn't seem so good. However, we would for sure stay here again!!
Review 69:The location was great. Close to so many restaurants, bars and shops. The customer service was excellent from all the staff. It was comfortable and cozy!
Review 70:Nothing other than we wouldn't choose to afford RRL other than on specials such as the one we booked. But, Big Sky in general is very pricey.
Review 71:The front desk personnel were very kind, helpful, and friendly. Specifically, the lady helped us with recommendations for dinner and spent extra time (came in on her day off) straightening out our bill as we had two couples with a deposit on my credit card. The breakfast was very nice, clean, and very attractive. The room was also very attractively decorated with a feel of Montana and the mountains.
Review 72:Ceiling creaked badly with activity on 2nd floor. Not very soundproof.
Review 73:Location, clean updated rooms, good food nearby.
Review 74:Nice easy continental breakfast before we hit the slopes. Small but comfortable hot tub.
Review 75:Everything is perfect
Review 76:Beautiful setting
Review 77:The heat was a bit noisy, but not a major issue
Review 78:The jacuzzi was a nice treat
Review 79:Distance from yellowstone
Review 80:Beautiful location, very nice rooms, very comfortable.
Review 81:Need more seating for breakfast room
Review 82:Large comfortable rooms and good breakfast
Review 83:Loud bar across the way
Review 84:comfy beds
Review 85:Location close to town square, flat screen TV, numerous pillows and a comforter.
Review 86:The breakfast area was small and very crowded. Maybe they can remove the wall separating the two rooms.
Review 87:coffee wasn't good or hot
Review 88:Too much time to checking in.
Review 89:Facility was new and comfortable.
Review 90:for the amount of money spent on a room the complementary breakfast was very poor
Review 91:Nice comfortable room for my friends and I to stay in. Very laid back atmosphere. I want to stay here next year when I come back!
