Reviews for Bucks T-4 Lodge
Review 1:Ate dinner in the dining room the first night. The food was average, not worth the price.
Review 2:Great staff, better than average breakfast included, rooms and beds are comfortable. Nice game room with a couple of pool tables and games for the kids, along with the two large outdoor hot tubs.
Review 3:Front desk staff was friendly and helpful. Front desk is staffed 24 hours a day. Rooms were spacious and clean. King bed was comfortable and supplied with ample pillows. Onsite restaurant and bar. Morning breakfast included with the room and was much better than the usual fare. Great Bar-BQ restaurant near by. Close to a winter ski area and less than an hours drive to West Yellowstone. Stayed two nights here during our 26 day road trip through the Northwestern U.S. One of our best overnight stays but also one of the more expensive ones. Would recommend this lodge.
Review 4:Comfortable room, great food. The included breakfast was way above our expectations. We had dinner at the restaurant one night and the food was great. Bucks T4 is down on the highway below the Meadow at Big Sky. Even though it is close to the highway the rooms are really well sound proofed, so we couldn't hear the highway. It's just a short drive from the Meadow shopping center which has some great places to eat and Lone Peak Cinema. Lone Peak Cinema only has two movies, but it's like brand new and has a full bar, which we took full advantage of! It's also just a short drive to Big Sky resort. If you want a nice relaxed place to stay while still being close to the ski hill and other activities, Buck's T4 is a good choice.
Review 5:Receptionists/front desk staff were apathetic and borderline rude. Rooms were poorly insulated and very loud.....could here people in next room like they were in ours (we were in west building room 252)
Review 6:Food in dining room was amazing! service was really slow (took 45 minutes to get cocktails and 1.5 hours AFTER ordering to get our dinner, but it was fabulous! Breakfast buffet was unremarkable. Rooms were clean and simple
Review 7:We loved everything. Perhaps a plug near the bed stand would be nice to charge the phone next to you. But no big deal. The bathroom is kind of tiny too, but again, not a problem.
Review 8:Excellent dinners. Very nice presentation. Super friendly staff, who seems to love to work there. Nice wine selection. Fabulous desserts. We will be back
Review 9:The rate is reasonable. The room is large, comfortable, equipped with every amenity, and includes a great hot breakfast buffet. What's not to like?
Review 10:Nothing.
Review 11:The people and the facility were first rate. the breakfasts were first rate. If you consider this meal (all you can eat) it was our cheapest stay. We would highly recommend the lodge as a result.
Review 12:We had guests above us with small children who I believe were playing basketball with the Harlem Globetrotters. Not the lodge's fault - just bad parents.
Review 13:Breakfast is outstanding - best scrambled eggs I've ever had. Not to mention the bacon, biscuits & sausage gravy & ham. Fresh fruit is excellent & pastries are fresh & good.
Review 14:Needs a carpet upgrade, but that likely gets worn fast after a ski season or two. Right next to some water processing facilities and empty lots.
Review 15:Good location near the river and convenient in/out travel. Very pet friendly. Outdoor seating with large outdoor fireplace. Excellent Food and Cocktails.
Review 16:My husband and I made a reservation for a room with a king-size bed. When we checked in they told us all rooms with king-size beds were filled already so they upgraded us to a two room suite that had a king and queen bed. Needless to say, we did not need this much space and 2 beds but were grateful they were willing to accommodate our original request. Would definitely stay here again!
Review 17:Great location - close to Big Sky resort, Gallatin River Valley restaurants/shops and road to Yellowstone. Nice, clean ranch "feel" and great bar/restaurant.
Review 18:There was a lot of dust on the shelves, microwave and fridge in our room.
Review 19:Friendly and helpful staff. Recommended the La Tinga Mexican restaurant in Bozeman - found it - right on!!! Breakfast was wonderful [and complimentary]. Great selection of hot entrees, fruit, pastries, cereal and beverages. Kudos to the chef!
Review 20:The free bus between there and Big Sky resort is too slow (too many stops), better to drive up and back each day.
Review 21:Conveniently located close to Big Sky ski resort, decent and clean, good food, reasonable value.
Review 22:The place is clean and has everything you need for a Montana weekend of skiing or being outdoors. It's not a luxury hotel, but you shouldn't be spending that much time in the room anyway. Go outside and experience the beauty of Montana!
Review 23:The room was dingy and old. It seemed dirty (carpet, furniture). The bed seemed clean. There was no down comforters on the beds, just a yellow blanket that looked really dirty. Even with the discounted rate I paid, I don't think it was worth it.
Review 24:Free wifi, location, got tub, free breakfast
Review 25:My boyfriend and I had a wonderful stay!! It was such a great price for the Big Sky area and still luxurious. The room was SO clean and comfy. The outdoor hot tubs felt great after a day on the mtn. The restaurant normally would have been out of our price range but since on vacation we decided to splurge and I'm so glad we did, it was probably the best meal I've ever eaten. Great experience overall.
Review 26:Day staff was super (Brenden) and arranged early check in for us. The restaurant was very nice - James Beard awarded. The rate included Bfst which was super. Two spa over-sized hot tubs which were very clean. Rooms are clean and comfortable. We had a great experience.
Review 27:not slopeside, but the free shuttle does stop at the hotel.
Review 28:best value in the big sky area room appeared very upscale. staff was exceptionally helpful and friendly. great tasting buffet hot breakfast
Review 29:The stairs going down to get to our room. The view from our room was many white "tour" or excursion buses.
Review 30:The breakfast was fabulous. The courtyard with the bridges, gazebos and adirondack chairs was lovely and conducive to relaxing.
Review 31:The hallway carpet looked worn, but that didn't carry over to the room, which we thought was very comfortable.
Review 32:The hotel had a lot of character It was nice to stay in a place that had personality--unlike the chains. We had a wonderful meal and the hotel staff was great!
Review 33:The room was really very dirty as it hadn't been cleaned properly. There was debris round the skirting boards, the edges of the bed and crumbs under the microwave, which also hadn't been cleaned inside. There was dust on ledges and toothpaste splattered on the tile surround around the wash basin. These rooms allow dogs to accompany guests and this room didn't smell too fresh either. Even though we did point out the problems the rooms were not cleaned properly each day ie. the washing area. We put this down to the very young and potentially inexperienced staff they employ. We didn't like the negative reaction of the reception staff when we were asked if our stay was ok and we reiterated that despite our complaints about the general dirty state of our room nothing had really changed or improved. We also said that this was the dirtiest place we had ever stayed in and felt that this was letting down their accomodation generally.
Review 34:2 king size beds were very comfy. The fridge in the room along with coffee maker and microwave was very useful. The view from our room was pleasant as it was at the side and not next to the road so we had views and peace and quiet. Also our room was located at the end of the corridor away from main doorway and walk through.
Review 35:We were happy with the service, rooms were very nice, very accessible, close to confidence stores, easy to find. Just a all around good experience, with no complaints.
Review 36:The price was a little more than we usually pay, but much less than the rest of our family paid by staying on the mountain. Goes with the area, I guess.
Review 37:Buck's T-4 is about 5 miles south of the Big Sky turnoff. After attending a wedding in Mountain Village, it was a nice drive down, to stay at Buck's. Our room was nice, comfortable, clean, with a good shower, and we loved the oatmeal massage soap. The bedding was comfortable, and it was nice to be able to open the window for some cool fresh air. The breakfast was sumptuous, and even though we were down late, there was a great variety of fruits, pastries, meats and breads left. The breakfast staff was helpful and friendly.
Review 38:The entire hotel was clean and comfortable. The check in staff was efficient and welcoming. The beds were extremely comfortable. The hot complimentary breakfast was delicious and fresh. It included a wide variety of choices such as scrambled eggs, ham, fresh biscuits, fruit, cereal, juice, milk and coffee. I couldn't find a single thing to complain about. A great place to stay in Big Sky.
Review 39:Room a little too dark - could use additional lighting
Review 40:Breakfast was more than outstanding Bed was extremely comfortable Very nice location - we mainly wanted to explore Yellowstone and though a little long (40 + miles) was workable and nice to get away from West Yellowstone also thought Big Sky very nice
Review 41:We loved everything. The young lady in the restaurant who seats people even brought our carry out dinner to us in the patio. It was Tuesday night 8/5 to be exact. Good breakfast too.
Review 42:Everything was great, only concern was the steps leading up to the bed, little scary if you needed to get up and go to the restroom. Breakfast was exceptionally good. Lots of variety available.
Review 43:Would have been nice to have laundry available at the lodge.
Review 44:Spent 2 nights here while checking out Yellowstone (45 min away). Ordered dinner to go first night from the restaurant. Was good. Next night went up the road to Big Sky. Did laundry and had dinner at Chopperz. Nice brew pub setting. Good food/service. Enjoyed a free concert in the park. A nice end to a long day at Yellowstone. Free breakfast at the lodge was pretty good as buffet breakfasts go. Good variety, and my son really liked the biscuits and gravy!
Review 45:A bit on the pricy side for the location.
Review 46:Seeing the Chef managing the breakfast room personally impressed me, in particular that he is an award winning chef. Unfortunately we didn't stay long enough to try his dinner.
Review 47:location if going to Yellowstone is a large distance, I would suggest something closer like West Yellowstone if available
Review 48:Scenery and one with nature, this is your place if Yellowstone isn't your destination. the Snake River is nearby for fly fishing
Review 49:Other staff a bit cold. Room wasn't ready till 6pm...
Review 50:Amazing bar and food. Food Service staff exceptional. Good stop off point. Excellent view. Amazing brekkie.
Review 51:Wonderful, included hot breakfast everyday. Excellent evening restaurant. Friendly staff.
Review 52:No bad experiences.
Review 53:We love this place - not fancy but very comfortable.

Review 69:High quality toilet paper. Seriously,so many places have harsh, cheap toilet paper.

Review 76:excllent breakfast
Review 77:Everything they go out of the way to make everyone happy
Review 78:Friendly staff, very good breakfast! Nice modern room.
Review 79:A hotel which complemented the surroundings of the Galletin Valley and the Big Sky mountain playground.
Review 80:Restaurant was overpriced
Review 81:Best complimentary breakfast of trip, quality restaurant on site, easy access to fishing and outdoor activities.
Review 82:We were at the end of the hallway and could not sleep because guest were going up and down the stairs. Very noisy.
Review 83:A bit far from west gate of Yellowstone.
Review 84:Very comfortable, beautiful views all around,
Review 85:Limited parking and small parking spaces
Review 86:Quiet,clean, friendly staff. Excellent breakfast with room.
Review 87:The beds were uncomfortable. For the price we paid, seems like we could have had newer mattresses
Review 88:Location was awesome, breakfasts were really good
Review 89:We greatly enjoyed staying the night at Bucks T-4-- friendly staff, yummy breakfast and a good nights rest!
Review 90:Room too close to front door. Too much noice until the middle of the night.
Review 91:Location, staff, food
Review 92:great beds, restaurant, hot tub
Review 93:Great location. Room was large and comfortable.
Review 94:Beyond expectations.
Review 95:The desk attendant with a weird P name doesn't need to be in customer service. She TRIED to make me feel stupid. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL!
Review 96:Bathroom
Review 97:Bath sucks
Review 98:Very Courteous staff. Excellent continental breakfast matching 4 star hotels.
Review 99:Great restaurant for dinner and the free breakfast outstanding
Review 100:GREAT breakfast with freshly cooked products (best on our trip of 3 weeks so far). Comfortable room and clean. No faults.
Review 101:Only one suggestion would be is to have/add a laundry facility. Other than that, everything else was perfect!
Review 102:Our stay at Bucks was wonderful. This was one of the cleanest, best maintained hotels that we have ever seen (including many in NYC)!! Beds were super comfortable, rooom was very spacious appeared recently renovated, always had extra towells without having to ask, staff friendly & helpful. A healthy hot breakfast with lots of good choices along with pastries, fresh fruits and cereals was available and included with your stay! Location is perfect at the foot of Big Sky near the Gallatin River and short distance to Yellowstone Park. The food at the restaurant was fantastic as well as the bar. Everything you need, all at one great location. A great place for couples and families!! We will definitely be returning next year.
Review 103:See prior comment.
Review 104:Nice complex, but the section we were in was noisy from road traffic and people above, and clunking up and down wooden steps and decks with suit cases and cowboy boots right outside the window next to the bed. I would insist on the sections away from the road.
Review 105:One hour from yellowstone, worth the drive just wish it was closer!!!
Review 106:The breakfast every morning was amazing, and make sure that you eat in the restaurant at least once, we ate there twich. FOOD WAS AMAZING!!!
Review 107:Everything! good location. Rooms are big and beds super comfortable. Coffee in room and in communal area, free. Wifi good in main building where my room was (and in communal area). Easy free parking, excellent breakfast, Super clean !
Review 108:I was disturbed by the fact that the cleaning personnel were chronically smoking outside on the steps of the various exits to the building. I can't wrap my head around the fact that one would think it is acceptable to be engulfed in a cloud of smoke, then enter a non-smoking room, making beds and putting out fresh towels and linens thinking that it is clean. Who wants a chronic smoker as a cleaning person if you are asking for a non-smoking room? How does that keep the room free of the ills of a smoker??? Contradiction.
Review 109:The daily breakfast was delicious and offered a wonderful variety for every palette. The kitchen staff was friendly and accommodating.
Review 110:Our GPS didn't take us directly to the hotel... seems to be a common problem for them. The Skyline bus service stops right outside the hotel, but be aware it will take 40+ minutes to get up and down the mountain.
Review 111:This hotel surprised us! The staff was super friendly and helpful. They upgraded our room from a queen standard to a king suite... score! The room was recently renovated and very clean. We spent quite a bit of time enjoying the hot tub... maybe a little too much time :). Other patrons were also very friendly. The free breakfast was delicious. Buck's T-4 is in a great location and I highly recommend it.
