Reviews for Hotel le virage
Review 1:The only downside was the price. The suite was a little pricey, so we could not afford to stay very long. But we were able to fit the whole family into one suite (the kids slept on the sofa), so at least we didn't have to get two rooms. A great place for families with kids if you can afford it.
Review 2:We got a suite for our family with small children. It had one bedroom with a very large bed, flatscreen tv, and dining table, and a separate living room (separated by a curtain) with a pretty large sofa, coffee table, flatscreen tv, refrigerator. The free wifi worked well and my kids were able to watch streaming videos. The suite had a nice patio looking directly onto a small pool and the ocean and beach beyond. There was a small grassy area next to the pool where the kids could play soccer. The hotel sits right on the beach, and the beach was also nice, fairly clean, not too crowded, really big waves all the time but not deep. Lots of rocks to climb on too. (The pool was quite chilly in December, but the temperature of the ocean was tolerable.) The restaurant on the top floor has an outdoor patio overlooking the ocean. The breakfast buffet was pretty good but expensive (5000 FCFA for every extra person - but they gave us two free ones with our room, and let the kids in for half price). There is also a restaurant next door that serves hamburgers, sandwiches, pizza, and ice cream. I really liked the location - very close to the airport (free shuttle any time day or night) and Les Almadies. There were also several restaurants within walking distance. We stayed in three different hotels in Dakar, and this was my favorite.
Review 3:the most doors of balcons were not lockable
Review 4:flexibility and hospitality of the staf was impressing. The food in the restaurant was excellent. shuttle from and to airport was great.
Review 5:n/a
Review 6:This is a quite normal hotel, but several things are simply outstanding: 1. personnel is extremely friendly and supportive 2. they have a free shuttle picking you up from and bringing you to the airport, even at night 3. it is actually very close to the airport 4. their check-out policy is extremely guest friendly I will not hesitate to stay there again.
Review 7:More healthy choices for breakfast needed and Room A/Cs are not powerful enough. Access to the beach through the hotel should be possible without risk of wrongful entry. E.g. Room card
Review 8:Beach location, with lots of eateries within a short walk. Decent facilities and enjoyed my stay.
Review 9:My wife and I were pleasantly surprised by the wonderful welcome from staff at the front desk. Management and staff made sure our stay was as comfortable as can be. We would like to thank Mr Hassan Gharib and all his staff. The food is excellent and the room, bed and wi fi of excellent quality. Yours truly Bachir Sarr
Review 10:Some things guests should be aware of: the beach is s surfing beach, not suitable for swimming at least in February when we were there. The hotel is a little out of the way but we enjoyed this since it provided a respite from the hectic city bustle. Taxis are easy plentiful to get you where you want to go but be prepared to bargain.
Review 11:The staff could not do enough for us. The airport shuttle was on time, especially appreciated because our departure flight required us to be at the airport at 4:30 a.m There was a great European style breakfast and the chef de cuisine was attentive to every detail including providing us with a breakfast plate the night before departure since the restaurant would not be open at 4 a.m. The room was spacious and the ameneties good. Wifi was reliable in the room. The view of the beach from our balcony was terrific.
Review 12:The rooms are largely constructed from cheap fittings, some of which were broken when I arrived, including the lock to the sliding door. I immediately requested a change of room, which took an hour. The lights in the corridor only turn on when someone walks through, which means the hotel corridors leading to guest rooms has a dark interior. The hotel got my flight arrival wrong, so I had to hustle to get them to collect me at 2 am. Overall, they need to work on investing in their customer experience and on improving their general room fittings service standard.
Review 13:Location near to the airport is great if you are in Dakar for a short time and are travelling on a 3* hotel budget. The hotel is also located right on a beach, which is great as it is usually hot and humid in Dakar. The WiFi was quick and reliable. The local Senegalese front-of-house staff were helpful.
Review 14:Staff are very friendly. Proximity to the airport very close.
Review 15:Airport Shuttle Service was excellent. Location
Review 16:easy access to amenities and sea view
Review 17:No Beer
Review 18:Friendly staff
Review 19:The sliding glass door was broken -- wouldn't close or lock.
Review 20:Staff were very friendly and welcoming
Review 21:full of mosquitoes, window didn't fit properly, noisy airconditioner, dirty. kettle didn't work, no coffee or tea anyway.
Review 22:Lovely sound of the sea (if you like that)
Review 23:The breakfast was virtually non existent. That is the only clear weakness of the hotel.
Review 24:It was a very good hotel with very helpful staff. Nice and spacious room. Everything in general is fine.
Review 25:In the nearby vicinity no supermarkets or good stores are found. For almost all outdoor activities a cab or rental car is needed. The breakfast becomes monotone after a couple of days. A bit more variety would be welcome.
Review 26:Proximity to the ocean and the staff are the two top elements of this hotel. Works are done to add a swimming pool and outside terras. This will certainly add value to the hotel. When we had a complaint about the room (too noisy because of the door to the balcony did not close properly), we quickly received a new room where our complaint was no longer an issue.
Review 27:Terrible value for money, rooms overlooking the street very noisy, rooms overlooking the beach horrendously drafty (curtains were literally billowing), three hangers in the wardobe and sliding doors falling off their railings, pre-fab shower box with sliding doors also falling off, very sad continental breakfast. I will never go back.
Review 28:Again, the location became a problem being by the road side (on a highly trafficked road) and occupying a road side room was my biggest mistake. The noise was overwhelming particularly at night. Wi-Fi is very unstable and was constantly blamed on service provider.
Review 29:Thought the location is ideal!
Review 30:The facilities were not properly maintained. The bathroom door and the patio door could not be closed properly. and they could not fix it. The breakfast buffet was good but no additional supply for late comers. We were there at 9:30 am and asked for fruit but was told that it was finished.
Review 31:The front desk staff is friendly. The check out time is flexible. My flight was after 9 pm. I could have my room until 7 pm with no additional charge.
Review 32:Lack of hot water in the morning. Restaurant not open as being renovated. Breakfast wasn't anything special.
Review 33:The room itself was pretty good. Lobby and most of hotel was clean. Available to check in at 10.30am was useful too.
Review 34:No facilities were available. Dark rooms with limited light. Bathroom needs to be repaired.
Review 35:Nice local juices.
Review 36:Poor wifi
Review 37:Location on the beach
Review 38:It was very close to the airport and had a shuttle and included breakfast.
Review 39:The location- Too expensive-poor breakfast.
Review 40:Friendly staff- very clean-I ll be back.
Review 41:erg luidruchtige mensen op de gangen en zitje
Review 42:prima bed
Review 43:Layover. Convenient distance from airport. Very welcoming staff.
Review 44:The staff were completely obnoxious, asking for tips all the time, adding phony charges to the room and screwing up the reservation all together.
Review 45:Excellent manager Alain very helpful
