Reviews for Beaver Run Resort
Review 1:The rooms were very dated and in need of renovation. The heating system was spotty at best, we were always too warm in the room at night. There wasn't a bathroom fan, so when we took showers the entire suite filled up with wet hot air. The front desk staff was rude on almost every interaction we had.
Review 2:The beds were very comfortable and the location was perfect. Having access to their reliable shuttles also helped.
Review 3:More than I wanted to pay, but very competitive for a ski out hotel.
Review 4:The Staff was EXTREMELY helpful. Needed lots of info to ski, and he patiently helped me find everything I needed.
Review 5:Bathroom sink too high for short people.
Review 6:Really friendly and convenient shuttle service in to and out of town. This relates to Building 4 only: Great ski in ski out. Ski lockers close to lift. Furniture in rooms very comfortable even for short person. For longer stay kitchenette would have been well used.
Review 7:Access to ski lockers and dealing with parking and ski drop off. Last day use of ski lockers tied to early check out. our room was on 8th floor of bldg 3., elevators were slow and located at opposite end of bldg. very inconvenient , slow, and crowded. Food was expensive and breakfast options limited
Review 8:Proximity to ski lift
Review 9:My bed was visibly sagging, I tried it for a night. Housekeeping responded the next day and added a foam topper... but really the bed needed to be replaced. Steam room needs repair, smelled like mildew/mold.
Review 10:Location! Ski lockers! Shuttle to town! Walk to lift... It's really all about the location. Once we figured out the maze, we enjoyed a couple soaks in the outdoor jacuzzi tubs and warmed up too in the dry sauna. There's more onsite at Beaver Run Resort than we had time to enjoy.... but no complaint here, we were spending the days on slope. No messing with parking or shuttling ourselves around. Making breakfast in the room was a snap with the fridge and microwave. Plenty of amenities on site... ate breakfast from the little general store one morning too.
Review 11:The hotel lacked room service for breakfast and late meals. Although most of the staff were very friendly, helpful and knowledgable, a trainee at the front desk and a couple of waiters during breakfast were not kind nor helpful.
Review 12:We were right there on the slopes. An excellent hotel with great services in a very tourist friendly town. Lovely skiing. Excellent slopes. Very well kept. Great teachers, great rental equipment, great location. Easy to get around town because the hotel offers free shuttles with pickup everywhere. Great concierge services. Great rooms. Very confortable rooms, bathrooms and beds.
Review 13:After Christmas the resort began to get more crowded seemingly with no accommodations to increased service in the shuttle dept and the open air market. The market was closing out drawers with a line of 6 waiting and watching. Perhap, extend staffing after christmas.
Review 14:Access to the lift, pool, lockers, restaurants, main street, shuttle, was very convenient and easy. Our room was very nice and comfortable. Liked the large pullout in the living room. Housekeeping, maintenance, and wood delivery were very quick and courteous.
Review 15:Very old room and amenities. Small room and bad heating system - windows were iced over every morning.
Review 16:Great location with plenty to do at resort- loved hot tubs and game room/ pool table and sitting areas.
Review 17:With 4 buildings in resort, there is only one expensive restaurant on the site. The shower is like from 60th. No actual exaust in shower and whole studio and no ventillation.had to open window and entrance door to get some air into room. Long walk from underground parking with lots of doors , stairs and elevators just to get to you room. Sauna is too cold. Lack of chest with drawers in the unit.
Review 18:Location is very good, especially if your room in bld 4. Lots of TV channels compare to other resorts.
Review 19:The smell of pot permeated the hallways, as other guests were allowed to smoke in their rooms. The smell even traveled through either the vents or under the doors into our room during day and night. The management does not enforce the non-smoking policy. Therefore, we will not return to this resort.
Review 20:The ski-in, ski-out location. The ski instruction/lesson was excellent.
Review 21:My bed was a bit soft. They should get new matresses it's not the 80s anymore. Soft is not the new good.
Review 22:Great location. Good value. Well equipped rooms.
Review 23:One of our waitresses in Spencer's left a lot to be desired....either she did not like her job or she knew with just my wife and I, the tip wouldn't be very large....
Review 24:Helpfulness of staff...room we chose was the studio, had a great view of town and lifts....
Review 25:We had a suite in building 4. The shower didn't work at all, so we resorted to taking baths. We turned on the jetted tub and a disgusting orange "goo" came out of the jets. Then to top it all off, we had to hold the bathtub drain open by hand in order for the water to go down. The lever to keep the drain open was broken. We ended up cleaning the tub ourselves.
Review 26:The location of this resort was absolutely perfect! The resort facilities were nice, and everything was within easy walking distance.
Review 27:My only complaint is that I booked this resort because it was ski in/ski out, but when we got there we found out that their lift wasn't open for another week. Had I know this ahead of time I would have booked somewhere else.
Review 28:Front desk sign in guy has a little bit of an attitude but all the other staff was very good.
Review 29:Everything was good and really like the place and all the activities you have to offer.
Review 30:Unsupervised children in the pool and workout area.
Review 31:I had a problem with feeling safe because I felt like a stranger was stalking me. Your staff was excellent. They took care and changed my room immediately. I can't say enough nice things about them.... Thank you.
Review 32:Staff at entrance took ages to check is in, something had gone wrong but behaved as if that was our mistake, which wasn't very welcoming. The buildings are somewhat dated and it is quite hard to get oriented. Some colors would probably already change the 70s look
Review 33:That being said, the location is close to the hiking and the centre of Breck which is nice. The apartment we had was dated but it had everything we needed so it was quite comfortable and was reasonable priced. We got an upgrade as something had gone wrong w the booking so that was nice. The shuttle they have is very convenient when going out at night.
Review 34:Great location ,good instruction for check in and parking as it's like a maze trying to find the different buildings , good shuttle service into town ,Comfortable beds and pleasant room decor .
Review 35:The place was very dated and the shower/tub in the middle of the room was very creepy and dated. Remodeling is in order. The furniture and carpet looked very old as well.
Review 36:The location was great. The views outside our room were terrific. The sitting area was nice since my husband and I don't get up at the same time
Review 37:We got a free upgrade, and it was marvelous. Dining/living room, full kitchen, and a lovely sight from the balcony. We only stayed 2 nights, but it was the best accommodations out of the 7 places we stayed during our trip.
Review 38:When I booked, booking.com said it came with a balcony. When I got there, they didn't have one available but fortunately the manager on duty upgraded me. Thanks! I really needed a relaxing night with a good view and Beaver Run followed through. The room was amazing and the staff was very friendly!
Review 39:The rooms were beautiful. Our room was supposed to have a spa tub & when we got to the room there wasn't one so I called the front desk & we got our room upgraded :)
Review 40:Couldn't get air conditioning to work so were a bit too warm all night.
Review 41:Very helpful and accommodating staff. Good price due to booking at late notice and a light weekend for travelers.
Review 42:Our room (4030) had outdated fluorescent lights that took a while to warm up but no other complaints!
Review 43:Perfect family place with many pools, hot tubs and an arcade. Right next to a chair lift, although we visited in summer, this would be ideal for a winter ski spot.
Review 44:The toilet had a pee spot on it when we arrived. It was very confusing as far as finding the correct building and room.
Review 45:The staff were all very welcoming and helpful.
Review 46:Had a room on the west side of building 4. Room didn't cool down at night even with patio door wide open.
Review 47:Nice clean facility. The shuttle was nice to get up the hill on the second day
Review 48:Too expensive - tiny room - the hotel in general was dirty and my room had a big bunch of hair in the shower and a blood stain on the night stand. Elevator stunk and had a big stain on the carpet - a real mess - I WON'T BE GOING BACK
Review 49:Awkward room layout including bed next to hallway. Heating and cooling system didn't seem to work to cool. Had to use fan.
Review 50:We liked the pool and hot tub area, views from the room. Proximity to area activities
Review 51:The unit was not as clean and maintained as it should have been. Several light bulbs out and dust hanging from the ceiling.
Review 52:The location was good and the amenities were nice.
Review 53:There was no air, then fan was broke, and electrical outlets were to far from window to allow outside air to be blown in to cool down room If fans are to be used they need extension cord to reach outlets to allow fan to reach window.
Review 54:Room layout.
Review 55:Room was not what expected based on web site. This was a gift for our kids and they had to ask for another room when they arrived. Very disappointing.
Review 56:View and location
Review 57:No bad experience but our unit was too nice for an overnight stay. That's just us. Didn't realize at booking that it was a condo unit. Way more cost than what we are used to paying.
Review 58:We thought the accommodations were awesome. Nicely appointed. Very large.
Review 59:Staff was great. Layout of room was lousy. Huge jetted tub in it's own room with half the space taken up by a tiny kitchen. The air flow in the room was terrible and with no AC it was very stuffy. Was way 70's design.
Review 60:Staff was great. Pool and Jacuzzi were great. Location was awesome.
Review 61:Went to the bar for happy hour first night and we were the only ones in the bar except for lady at the bar and the bartended/waitress did not wait on us...she was really kind of rude...we left after first drinks. Then went to Spencers..we have eaten there numerous times and have always gotten great food...maybe a new chef I don't know but the steak was AWFUL, no flavor just seared and dropped on the plate...It could have used some herbs or a rub, spices something. The wait staff there was exceptional as always.. These rooms need to be updated. Our living room was mirror walls old style decor...time to update and for what they charge they should be able to be updating now.
Review 62:Location was great! Spa was good...
Review 63:No air conditioning in the summer, open the windows and use the ceiling fans.
Review 64:Great location, price and amenities such as pool and shuttle bus to town. The Wi-Fi was EXCELLENT high speed, the rooms very comfortable.
Review 65:The views are wonderful! We got a great deal on our room using booking.com. The room was equipped with a stocked kitchen and full refrigerator, 2 tvs, good wifi, a fireplace, a balcony, and clean, modern furnishings. The hotel had lots of options for dining but we explored Breckenridge for that. We had a wonderful time walking around and enjoying the natural beauty of that little town. Will definitely return!
Review 66:Even with ramps for handicapped guests, the walking distance for my son was too far. Having to take 4 elevators to make to the bottom was too many. Parking was inconvenient and we were worried about not having a spot when we got back or finding our vehicle again. It was hot during the summer day without an AC. We were not told that it did not have an AC. Surprise!
Review 67:We loved the convenience of the shuttle and the location of the motel. Loved the heated swimming pool and hot tubs. Loved the small kitchen and dishes and cookware provided.
Review 68:No working air conditioner or ceiling fans, refrigerator didn't work, broken kitchen tools, broken dishwasher door, broken metal pieces in spare bedroom.
Review 69:Shuttle service to breckenridge was nice.
Review 70:The location, the ammenities for family entertainment, the staff are wonderful, the rooms ( and we have stayed in a few different styles), just an over all great place to get away in comfort.
Review 71:Our booking was not received. But staff did an excellent job recovering quickly. Heavy scent of tobacco smoke in room. Heavy scent of an unidentifiable chemical in halls. Weird tub, shower arrangement. Sofa, shower curtain in bad state of repair. Ran out of toilet paper.
Review 72:Convenience to race.
Review 73:Beds! We hardly slept the bed was so uncomfortable. The pull out bed had bars sticking out everywhere. Be sure to checkout downtown for dinner and anything you need as their prices are ridiculous. $4 for a gatorade is a bit excessive.
Review 74:Overall everything! Nice balcony and fireplace. Great location. Price was great. There was even a shuttle that took us downtown and recommended an excellent pizza place.
Review 75:Front desk staff was indifferent. The room was dirty and bathroom wasn't cleaned from the prior guest.
Review 76:Location is good and the suite is good for a small family.
Review 77:Decor of the whole resort is soooo outdated that it almost overshadows the good qualities. However, we got a good rate so I felt the value was good. However, had we paid the advertised rate it would have been a ripoff for what the rooms and facilities are--70's/80's time warp!
Review 78:Great walkable location. Clean room. Quiet (not many guests on a quiet weekend). Convenient shuttle.
Review 79:It smelt a bit funny, breakfast not included.
Review 80:The staff were super lovely. The apartment was really nice, the spa bath in the room especially. The restaurants and bars all within the resort were great.
Review 81:For the price of the rooms they should be cleaner. Bathroom and floor not as clean as expected. The price is high for what some of the amenities are.
Review 82:The location to the lifts was great. Free shuttle service from hotel to town and back very nice. The sauna and steam room clean and hot. Parking price was nice. Front desk staff very friendly.
Review 83:Staff at the end of the season were unhelpful and disinterested! Expensive for a self catering experience, but you are paying for its location.
Review 84:Ski in and ski out, location is great for peaks 7-9. On site spa and leisure facilities are really welcoming too.
Review 85:Our room had not been renovated to the extent of the room in the pictures on line, so that was disappointing. Our shower nossel was so weak I was forced to bathe. However, my wife loved the tub, and our view from the 8th (top) floor of building 4.
Review 86:We loved the location, gym, pools, hot tubs, ski lockers, & shuttles. The putt putt golf and arcade wasn't nearly as nice as the pool tables, but it was still fun.
Review 87:I didn't like being a tourist and marijuana being available for pleasure but there was no where to smoke if you wanted to smoke you would have to go to Denver to one of the bars they offer being a big resort you should have some kind of our situation so that tourists could enjoy marijuana why they're there but I had a great time anyway
Review 88:I love it it was close to everything you could get to town quickly you have the shuttle available to take us anywhere you just walked right out into the snow the ski lifts were right there it was just awesome
Review 89:Shower didn't work properly even after they supposedly fixed - dishwasher broken - screen in window broken - humidifier didn't work.
Review 90:Location was good ski in and ski out.
Review 91:The price is a little bit high for the hotel level. It needs remodeling. The matress protector was all wavy. Even after they've changed the original one, it was still a little wavy. The people on the housekeeping phone were very nice. They've provided na extra chair and also a toaster. They'd try to help us as much as they could. But, concerning housekeeping itself, it needs more people to work and patterns. For 2 times, at 6 PM, the room wasn't made up. That's unnacceptable! They didn't replace soaps and toilet paper everyday. Once, we ran completely out of toilet paper (there wasn't a spare one!) Also unnaceptable!
Review 92:Excelent location! It's good to have hot tub, swimming pool, and also a bar restaurant and small Market on the spot. The rooms have a fridge and a micro oven which helps a lot. It's big and there's space. The concierge works very well! They've booked us the ski pass and also made some dinner reservations very efficiently!
Review 93:The condo was way too hot and the temperature could not be controlled. It made the air dry and uncomfortable to sleep. The set up made the master bedroom a sauna. All the noise traveled up to the bedrooms. The bed and pillows were not comfortable.
Review 94:The location near the ski lift was great.
Review 95:Housekeeping didn't clean my room. When I called about it, they said they were "really busy today". So they dropped off extra towels and coffee at 8 pm to make up for it. Also, there were not enough plugs for our devices.
Review 96:Convenient location.
Review 97:We had several people cut in front of us to use shuttle to town on the weekend, told the driver and he shrugged.
Review 98:Like the restaurant, Spencer's , good hotel location by the lifts,
Review 99:The furnishings and décor are functional and basic, nothing fancy. We had a hard time controlling the temperature in our condo so it was a little chilly. The Market/deli gets very crowded at times so expect to wait during peak hours.
Review 100:The location is very convenient, right at the base of Peak 8. My kids loved the arcade and pool area. Good place for families...everything you need is self contained in the complex, so the kids could (ages 9, 12 & 13) could go out on their own a bit.
Review 101:It was supposed to be a non smoking building but the people next door ignored this and so our room smelled of smoke each morning. The manager had a work with them which they ignored but they did give me air freshener to get rid of the smell.
Review 102:spacious suite with a great log fire and well equipped kitchen. Fantastic service. Any requests dealt with immediately.
Review 103:I wish there was a area for smokers.
Review 104:The best thing about our trip was ski instructor Greg. Our kids never skied before and he had them skiing down the hill and u afraid to ride the lift chair. Amazing!!!
Review 105:The locker area was congested the floor was wet and had only 2 chairs. There was no dressing gowns or security lockers available for the spa.
Review 106:The location is excellent, you walk out and you are at the ski lift. The convenience of the resort transport which takes you anywhere for free. All the staff we met were very extremely professional and pleasant.
Review 107:Somewhat outdated but overall comfortable and pleasant stay.
Review 108:Great location with shuttle available for trips into town. Lift right outside the hotel. Studio with kitchenette includes a microwave, minifridge, stove top, toaster, coffeemaker, dishwasher and all the kitchen essentials.
Review 109:Inexperienced young staff who were unaware and not helpful at all on how to get to our room, take up luggage, catch the bus, just about any question a patron would have upon arrival and check in. Although it mentions ski in/ski out location, you still walk 200 ft and up and down several flights to get to the ski lift. A little confusing to get around and navigate through the resort.
Review 110:The manager Brian was very helpful when we had to change our rooms three times because my recommendations on Booking.com did not make it to the resort, when requesting an updated room.
Review 111:It's all about the location, true ski in ski out. Great hot tubs/ outdoor pool areas. Hotel is a bit of a maze due to its size and hotel bars lack atmosphere. Will definitely stay there again.
Review 112:The decor was dated and a little drab. Since the ski locker keys were in the room, that meant skis and boots had to be carried around at arrival and departure. A ski valet would have been nice. The hot tubs were located too far from most rooms. Service was just OK.
Review 113:The location of the resort at the base of Peak 9 was great. The staff was friendly. The ski lockers worked well, except on arrival and departure. The shuttle service was great. The resort had plenty of amenities and fun things for kids. Every room had a microwave and refrigerator.
Review 114:The kitchen in our studio was tiny, it was difficult to cook anything other than microwave meals. They also charge $10/night for parking which should be included in the room cost.
Review 115:Beaver Run is a very large resort so you can find everything you need under one roof and you are right next to the Peak 9 chair lift. You can easily walk into town for more restaurants / bars.
Review 116:Not a lot of lighting in the room, had to walk through parking garage from building 1 to get to pool and hot tubs in building 3
Review 117:comfortable, roomy queen beds
Review 118:Use of space in the Colorado Suite was not logical. Unit built around huge spa tub with glass walls. Could easily have spacious family condo with a regular bath and use that space for a real kitchen. Housekeeping would come early to find us in the room still. Then we would have to call in afternoon because they never returned to our room.
Review 119:Loved the location of building four and the proximity to the lifts and runs. Shuttle service was prompt and convenient to go anywhere off property we wanted to go.
Review 120:The Bever Run chair lift was not open which would have taken us to some great runs that we couldn't easily get to without that chair being open. It would have been more convenient too, since the ski in/out locker room is right next to that chair lift.
Review 121:Ski in/out abilities - Although I understand we got lucky due to a lot of snow the week before we arrived. Had it not snowed, we would have had to walk a little bit to the slopes.
Review 122:The room was very tired; walls and ceilings look damp, kitchen facilities have seen better days (and it was poorly stocked - no kettle, we had to boil water in a pan...), window ledges were filthy, and the bathroom was like a 1950's Motel honeymoon suite in Texas. Staff were nice but unprofessional. The exterior was ghastly and an eye sore from the nearby chairlift - can't believe they got planning permission, it really is a skid mark on the horizon of a beautiful mountain.
Review 123:Very little.
Review 124:Dishwasher didnt work-floor dirty-found a pill under a chair-locked out before check out time-Spencer restaurant food terrible-screen on window broke-view of concrete wall from window-took 10 minutes to get hot water evertYtime shower and faucets turned on-very poor workmanship of "remodel"-very dissatisfied with high price for poor quality property
Review 125:Close to slope
Review 126:Needs more parking, needs a serious update of the infrastructure.
Review 127:The staff, the ability to ski on and off the property, good ski storage facility. Decent rooms. Good views of mountains.
Review 128:My room was EXTREMELY noisy. It sounded like there was a child screaming in my room while I was trying to sleep, I could hear everyone in the hall who walked by and I could hear every car/truck that drove by outside my window. So much for a good nights sleep.
Review 129:The staff was super nice and extremely helpful. I liked that I could park in a covered garage.
Review 130:Room service for cleaning didn't come even after I complained. The food available in the complex was terrible.
Review 131:Location
Review 132:Near downtown but the ski in and out made it the best value!
Review 133:Comforts of home Close access to ski facilities and slopes Beautiful snow and scenery Great ski instructor - Woody
Review 134:Nothing
Review 135:Location, amenities, staff, dining
Review 136:Location was excellent. Loved being able to jump on a lift within metres of our hotel.
Review 137:Ski in ski out was great!
