Review 1：I loved the idea of a light evening meal included in the room rate. During my three day stay, the light dinner was wonderful: two salads, a main pasta dish, bread, butter, and soup. The second night it was basically the leftovers from the previous night and a new salad. The third night, well, I ended up going out to eat as there wasn't enough available. Nowhere does Slottshotel advertise this as more than a light meal, though, and it's not meant to be a full course dinner. Don't count on it being one, and you won't be disappointed. :-)
Review 2：Highly recommended! Wonderfully historic buildings dating back to the 1840s with cozy rooms and very classy sitting areas where you can enjoy a cup of coffee or tea free or sit with your reasonably priced glass of wine or beer. In the morning there's a very nice breakfast and in the evening a light dinner included in the room rate. Fabulous location in Kalmar. It's a five minute walk from the train station and then you're just across the street from a beautiful park and a short walk to Kalmar Castle and the art gallery. Old town? You're in it. My great grandfather grew up in Kalmar so it was wonderful to be in a hotel building he might have actually been in as young man.

Review 42：The pictures on Booking.com of the hotel's two junior suites are confusing since you get the impression that the two suites are equally equipped and with high standard or at least very similar. However this is not at all the case. The hotel has two junior suites. The price is the same regardless of which suite you get. However the quality of the two suites could not be more different. The first suite seems to have been renovated some 30 years ago with really worn down furniture, floors etc, and a bathroom that is way past its best before date. We got this room initially. The second suite is a very nice and classy bridal/honeymoon suite with everything newly renovated and with antique furniture. We got upgraded to this room after a lengthy discussion with the staff about the shortcomings in our first room.
