Reviews for Coral Bay Resort
Review 1:No TV. Did not have hot water for first couple of days. No generator for power outages, even much cheaper accommodation had generators. P120 return trip to town.
Review 2:Beautiful gardens and views. Pretty good continental breakfast. Very relaxing and nice and quiet.
Review 3:This hotel is way too expensive! We booked many different hotels during our Palawan/Coron trip and this was the most expensive whilst offering the least of all. The staff played loud music in the mornings and evenings and was kind of partying by themselves, whereas you couldn’t hardly find someone when you needed them. If you found one, they were friendly and tried to help. The breakfast offered was kind of guessing what they really might offer. You need to particularly ask like “do you offer omelet? Do you offer pancakes? Could we get some juice? Could we get some fresh fruits?”, because you cannot expect to get more information than Yes or No. The room was very dark also lights are rare, not rare are the bugs in the walls, you could also hear them nibble. We had no electricity for 1.5 days (which is common in the Philippines, but also budget hotels dealt better with this problem and provided a generator or informed you upfront about downtimes). The Wifi is not working. For the price paid, we expected more than one towel per Person, a fridge, getting the room done daily (you would need to particularly ask for this, but don’t expect information upfront), a tissue box, sunloungers on the beach (which is very nice, but you can only sit on the sand, cause there is nothing provided), a working wifi and enough light. The plan to book a nice and more luxurious hotel for Christmas did not work out, it was only expensive, but didn’t provide anything more than other budget hotels. Only the view is really great and compensates, luckily this is something provided by nature and the hotel as the advantage of a good location.
Review 4:The view is absolutely great
Review 5:This place is definitely NOT a "resort". It's a ugly, unclean motel-like dump, crowded right up against nicer places along Corong Corong beach. There's no Reception area, at all. There's no restaurant or bar. There's no comfortable places to sit and relax. There was no lock on our door. It's partially under construction, but no was was actually working while we were there - I think they've just given up. Our pillows were covered in MOLD and our towels were covered in brown STAINS. (See attached photos.) The mattress was not a mattress - just a cheap thin piece of foam on top of a hard wood board. They also only gave us one small threadbare sheet as a "cover" and when we asked for at least one more, the security guard (who was sorta acting as "reception") was a jerk. There were so many other things so wrong and so UN-luxurious, I could go on and on. Now, this only matters because of the price. If we were paying $20/day (like the little beach cottages down the beach), this is what you might expect. But at the $100+ rate, definitely not. I do not recommend anyone stay here at that price.
Review 6:More quiet than the loud dirty town of El Nido, and right on the Corong Corong beach.
Review 7:El nido is expanding fast which we fully understand but they did not make us aware before booking that extension work is taking place at the hotel itself.
Review 8:Loved the view onto the beach and the location as it was slightly out of town but not to far to walk to el nido and close to Las cabanas beach for gorgeous sunsets. We booked 3 nights and ended up staying 5. However after going to other places around the phillipenes I believe the price for the room was a bit steep! At 2500php per night. When we got a room for half of that at puerto princesa which was also beautiful and had a pool (blue lagoon) if you are looking!but I suppose it's the location. Also don't miss port barton! Very pretty! And cheap! Lots more accommodation than shown online for all the places we visited!
Review 9:I got sick, and spent three days on my back with fever.
Review 10:The quiet down home feeling, but yet having the beach experience with the feeling of being at home. Excellent staff, and an out-standing Security Guard.... Edgward.
Review 11:Cleaning only happens on demand. There is no WIFI (it is there, it is possible to log on to it but nothing actually happens after that).
Review 12:Location is good
Review 13:Nothing..Probably better with a sign so people know where to get to the reception for questions or help..
Review 14:We enjoy every minute of our stay here. Lovely beach and stunning view for sunset. Perfect location away from the crowd and just a short tricycle ride from town centre. Me and my partner both think this is underrated and we'd gladly come back and stay again.
Review 15:there was constant construction happening around us, started hammering at 8 AM, the room wasnt cleaned unless we specifically asked for it
Review 16:good location, nice staff
Review 17:No reception so you have to be lucky to find staff. Little bit overpriced for what you get room wise, good job we had the amazing view.
Review 18:We stayed in the beach bungalow, the views at sunset are stunning from your own balcony / terrace. Breakfast is good once you eventually find the staff. They helped to book a tour for us for the following day before we arrived. We had to text them so wasn't sure on how reliable it will be, however they contracted the travel company we requested (Caera Tours) and we had a great time.
Review 19:It's not a resort! No reception desk or restaurant or any facilities. No hot water even tho there's a hot tap. There's not much around it so you need to travel into town. Staff don't really care about you only your money. Our flights were cancelled and they wouldn't help me phone until I paid them extra for help! Total rip off and half the place is a building site + new hotel being built next door. Avoid!
Review 20:Nice garden and sunset
Review 21:This place is crying for basic improvements. Why not put some glasses in the room or a shelf for the toiletries in the shower? The content of the room is very-very basic. Also, the toilet flush took forever to fill up again. There were four of us so that was a big inconvenience.
Review 22:We had the family room and our room faced the ocean, which was awesome. We also really enjoyed having the patio. The breakfast served at the patio was also excellent, very tasty, great variety and promptly served.
Review 23:Breakfast everyday same and not another options. Not safety bag. Far away from centrum. Air conditioning very noisy.
Review 24:Very kind and helpful staff.
Review 25:Poor WIFI coonections even on the balcony.
Review 26:Great staff!
Review 27:It would be nice if this resort had a restaurant or lobby/common area.
Review 28:Great location and very friendly, helpful staff
Review 29:Great view with sunset every day
Review 30:Very basic amenities, no hot water for a couple of days
Review 31:Firendly staff, clean, good location, good breakfast
Review 32:Really good views. Fantastic place for a breakfast on a seaside.
