Špik Alpine Wellness Resort sells fast on our site. Offering breathtaking views of the surrounding Julian Alps, Hotel Špik is located on a tranquil spot in Gozd Martuljek, only 3.1 miles from Kranjska Gora. It offers free Wi-Fi and a large wellness centre.

Review 1：No vegetarian food for dinner (but it was Slovenian night so that might be the reason, but still...). We went out for dinner. Not completely clean, few hairs in bathroom and room at the wall above bed, etc. Jacuzzi and pool area crowded. "Wellness hotel" but paying extra for sauna is not on the plus side definitely.

Review 2：View from the room, balcony; big room and furniture (comfortable bed). Good breakfast, big choice of food.

Review 3：The only minor issue we had is that it was a bit too hot in the rooms - we tried using the thermostat to reduce the temperature but even at its lowest setting it was still very warm. (Warm is good, generally speaking, but for sleeping it was a little uncomfortable.) We stayed only one night - and that over Christmas - so the price was a bit too high.

Review 4：The rooms are comfortable, beautifully furnished and the mountain view is stunning. Access to the pools is included in the price. We've also been to the hotel's wellness/spa for a massage several times in the past (extra charge) and it's usually top-notch. Breakfast offers a great variety of foods.

Review 5：Had to pay extra for sauna use. You are forced to take off slippers all over the swimming pool area and walk bare foot ( this is not exactly hygienic and there is an increased risk to catch fungal and viral infection of the feet). You are also forced to take your swimming suit off in the sauna area even if you do not want - people should be given the choice. The staff overall was very kind and helpful, except one employee who was paranoid about the slippers and swimming suits.

Review 6：The wellness facility is great, specially the heated stone beds and jacuzzi in the sauna area. Food was decent and varied. Rooms were fairly modern and clean. Good location to make small excursions in the surrounding areas by a relatively short drive.

Review 10：Peaceful and relaxing location between mountain river and forest. Plenty of things to see and visit in the surrounding area. Very pleasant atmosphere, feels like at home, nice spa, clean and tidy, good food, pleasant employees. The first hotel where we have more than one booking and where we are planning to come back in the future.

Review 11：Saunas were excluded from the room price. 4 star hotels on Austrian side of the border are of the higher quality.

Review 12：Hotel is quite new and well maintained. It is at a very scenic location just next to Sava river with a wonderful view of the Alpine peaks. An excellent walk to the waterfalls is available nearby, albeit demanding some safety care.

Review 13：In our room the TV had only one channel or didn't work at all, despite an engineer attending to fix it. The air conditioning did not work - none the first night and then had to be turned on/off by reception. The food was all canteen food - disappointing (not 4 *), but plenty of it. The restaurant was a canteen.

Review 15：Rooms are not sound proof, Walls are not solid, sound like panel partitions...I heard my neighbor snoring like he was sleeping in my room... For 4 days TV in my room was not working. I reported first day but they did not repair.

Review 22：we had a view of the mountains and could not ask for more when waking. Wifi was free but on an unsecured network. Room was very comfortable and facilities good. Free car park. Most staff were friendly and helpful.

Review 23：We liked everything. The hotel is nicely located, the rooms are very cosy and comfortable, staff is very friendly. You can use excellent spa and beauty centre. It is a great place for holiday any time of a year as there are so many possibilities to spend time there - skiing, hiking, biking, jogging, walking. Due to its perfect location you can also visit Austria and Italy.

Review 24：Hotels restaurant. They have determent sitting order, even when hotel is not full. Staff in restaurant is a bit lazy, and they dont "refill" food fast enough.

Review 28：Why did we rate the quality of sleep with good only and not excellent? Despite the outside temperatures were way below zero in the morning (-4 C in Rateče - 10km away), it was too warm in the room for a good night sleep - we have turned the heating off completely, still had to have the balcony door opened during the night.

Review 29：Location is superb! The view from the balcony onto the mountains of Martuljek is breathtaking - you MUST take the room on the southern side! Don't ask about the price, just take it! They were about to close the hotel for two weeks - we were staying there at the end of October, it is a dead season then, so they were a little short on stuff, but they put an extra effort to meet our expectations.

Review 30：I remember breakfasts in this place that are today just a pleasant memory. The hotel is a 3*-4* combo, but meals (breakfast/dinner buffet) are jointly served and are more on a 3* side (breakfast on the low end). For a 4* guest this is a bit disappointing. On the average staff could improve on speed and hospitality.

Review 31：This was a return visit (a tradition that started way back in '67, and as a couple this was our 20th anniversary). The hotel continues to satisfy three key requirements: quiet surroundings, good location and predictable comfort. For those seeking wellness facilities it is a valuable extra.

Review 32：Service and stuff (exception the receptionist). They do not speak any foreign languages and they do not provide any services. We had to lay the table in the restaurant etc. It was so "interesting".

Review 35：We had a suite with a balcony overlooking the mountains and river which was fabulous. The room was so quiet; all we could hear was the sound of the water which was relaxing. The pool area was great. Dinner buffet had a good choice. Paying with our room card was really useful as we were not required to have cash with us. Hiring bicycles from the hotel was of good value. Swimming pool area was super.

Review 38：Food quality low (breakfast so so, dinner terrible), beds and pillows are too soft, the thai massage practitioner does not speak slovene nor english and a 50 minutes massage lasts max. 40-45 minutes.

Review 75：Nice, modern resort style hotel. Don't be confused by the 3* and 4* areas. Setting is in the mountains, very pretty and calm. Views on both sides are roughly similar, no need to push this. They just installed WiFi throughout the 4* section - it works great.

Review 78：The reception and the restaurant are really ugly, bit of an 80'east European style. We (2of us) paid 120 euros for a four star room(the hotel also has three star rooms) + 15 euros to have a mountainview room + extra 15 euros per person to use the saunas!! By the way inthe saunas you are not allowed to wear a swimming suit and in thedressing room of the saunas there are cameras everywhere, filming thenaked guests!! I have surely been to more than a hundred spas andhotels before but Inhave never ever seen something so outrageous. I canhardly imagine that this is legal, by the way. As for thr food, it wasless than average.

Review 79：We stayed at Spik hotel in Gozd Martuljek. The room was quite spaciousand clean, the view was beautiful. The only other positive thing aboutthe hotel was it's big indoor swimming pool.

Review 83：The new part of the hotel is modern and nice. The rooms are large and very clean fantastic view from the room to the mountain and river that is passing by. Swimingpools are very good. If you have a car it is a very nice point for day trips to the mountains as well as to the lakes in Austria and Italy. Kranska Gora 5 km away offers restaurans and other amusement opportunities. We stayed for 4 days and enjoyed very much the time.

Review 84：No wifi Internet service in rooms since reception was very bad in hotel, outside of lobby. A lot of tv channels did not work and staff was very slow to fix the problem.

Review 87：In July the hotel was only partly full and had some large coach groups who left early in the morning on excursions and returned late in the evening... so through the day the hotel, swimming pools and terraces were largely deserted, which we loved. Food was fine, and with plenty of variety, and the rooms large, modern and very comfortable. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Best of all were the views and riverside setting, which made it well worth the extra money to book an alpine view room. Fantastic hotel at this time of year.

Review 88：Only few minor things. Doors of rooms are slumming too noisy, so please arrange this. Wifi is not working in all rooms, but they promissed they will set new antenna's soon. Drink in the bar is too much expensive.
