Reviews for Coco de Mer Hotel and Black Parrot Suites
Review 1:no wifi I the room. The staff seem not have a good sense of time. I asked for some towels and have to wait for more than 40 mins. But all the other things are wonderful!
Review 2:This hotel is not very big, but we could find almost anything we need here. The view from the pool is just amazing! All staff very nice and sweet.
Review 3:The only minor issues here was that the food was not that good
Review 4:The view, the staff, the services, amenities, location, etc. Everything was really amazing
Review 5:Less varities in buffet, less al carte menu, no complimentry drinking water in superior room, black parrot staff overtrained and irritating at some point
Review 6:Nothing
Review 7:Even though I knew about this, there was no internet in the room. Knowing that, I purchased a SIM card, but in Praslin the signal was not very good compared to Mahe.
Review 8:The staff are amazing! They are very friendly and helpful! We wanted to checkout a few days earlier, and although they were supposed to charge us for the whole stay (which I knew beforehand) the manager was very accommodating and agreed that they will only charge us for the days we stayed there. The food is really good! One of the best places to serve good food in the Seychelles. This is a great place for a couple. It's quiet and secluded, the whole island is. They also provide you with paddle boards and kayaks for free!
Review 9:Poor standard of decor and very cheap/old fixtures. The staff could be described as at best indifferent. Lots of potential with the location but not capitalised on
Review 10:Beautiful location
Review 11:Amazingly friendly staff, breathtaking location, good breakfast, good and very reasonably priced a la carte restaurant. We were upgraded to a suite at the Black Parrot, which was beyond wonderful. All in all, a perfect vacation!
Review 12:WiFi facility is very poor. It was very very slow in the lounge area as that was the only place where you could avail WiFi facility. For such a high value hotel, free WiFi is preferable anywhere inside the hotel premises.
Review 13:One day experience in staying the hotel, simply memorable !!!
Review 14:Some of the pool bar staff were slow in serving and could have been friendlier.
Review 15:The whole atmosphere of the hotel was just right and we loved the jetty with its very comfortable sun beds! The spa was also extremely good.
Review 16:Wi-fi limited to the common areas (hall, restaurant and pool), our bathroom has some annoying stink from the toillet and the conditioned air was not enough for room's size.
Review 17:Hotel's employees are kind and warm, calm and almost private beach beside hotel, outstanding night views at the wharf, wonderful dinner (whorths for the extra charge).
Review 18:If you are vegan or vegetarian than there is no point buying buffet. You will not get anything to eat.
Review 19:location is amazing and Staff allowed us to check out at 5.00 PM. Overall good experience.
Review 20:Everything, it was the worst hotel I have ever stayed in my entire life and this time it was part of the honeymoon. We stayed at the Black Parrot which is supposed to be the best of what you can get, well it's not. The hotel is incredibly expensive and you don't get anything back. The staff is not enough prepared, you don't feel special or well treated. The hotel is in the middle of nowhere which would be ok if it would be nice and could benefit from the hotel facilities but they are shabby and very old. You don't feel it's clean. My bathrobe was smelling terrible, our blankets were dirty. Not that is expected but there was no special honey moon welcome, which we received in all the other hotels The food is terrible, you just want to go somewhere but as there is nothing around you simply can't. After an afternoon in the "resort" we rented a car and never stayed at the hotel beside for sleeping which made us even more angry as we payed so much. A guest House would have been better. The location is always exposed to wind too and seaweed. I strongly not recommend this hotel!!!!
Review 21:Nothing. It was the worst experience ever
Review 22:Wifi was not available in the rooms (which is not really bad as its also good for disconnecting). Coffee in the breakfast was charged. The rooms close to the pool have better views as they are closer to the sea, they should give those before giving away the ones on the other side. Despite most of them being empty they gave us one on the other side.
Review 23:The location was very nice and the staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast buffet was very good too.
Review 24:Poor TV (limited to 11 chnls) No wifi in the room (limited to the lobby and pool) TV chnls were disconnected for 3 days and no effort to solve the problem The food was below expectation. Room Service was not 24 hrs and limited to view hours till 7 pm max!! AC quality poor
Review 25:staff were nice and helpful pool and beach
Review 26:If you want another FREE welcome drink, you have to pay for it without being told that it's for a fee.
Review 27:Everything is nice, especially the service and the swimming pool! And there is a little cute animal eating the fruits fallen on the ground :P
Review 28:The fact that our vacation and time at the hotel were over.
Review 29:Lovely location, very clean facilities; great room, beautiful view, good food. The staff were extremely friendly, helpful, welcoming. Nice spa with good option. An excellent value for the money. Highly recommendable.
Review 30:Yes the tide brings in quite a bit of seaweed but it is cleared away every morning to reveal a perfectly good beach and if a little seaweed is too much for you to handle, there is the free shuttle bus every day to the most incredible cove style beach on the other side of the island
Review 31:Fantastic location for a relaxing vacation with incredible views of the ocean. Some of the friendliest staff I have come across in all my travels, particularly Fiona at the Black Parrot reception and the British lady at Coco de Mer (whose names escapes me right now sorry). Food was of a reasonably high quality but for some variety you may want to try one of the outside resaurants and reception will recommend and book for you as well as order a return cab. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel and I expect to be back as part of my honeymoon next year.
Review 32:The sea was rough all the time , probably because it was on the windward side and not the leeward side. The sea near the hotel was also having a lot of seaweed and not clear water and not suitable for swimming
Review 33:Excellent rooms , good food , good staff , value for money. Very cooperative to provide me early breakfast before time as I wanted to have breakfast and play golf at lemuria resort early morning.
Review 34:Like all Seychelles hotels it is overpriced but I think the staff could do more to help. Caters for the big groups too much. Dinner in the beachside restaurant can only be described as poor. Beach poor. if you advertise WiFi then only having it in the lobby is a bit of a con.
Review 35:Restaurant is the only possibility for food, prices around 50 EUR pP. No Wifi in the rooms. Far from everything. During the day - dead atmostphere in the hotel no music at the pool, no intertainement. Too expensive for what it is. The Hotel needs a refurbishment to get its 4 stars and the price. We normally are easy people but this experiance during our honeymoon was not the best one. In first room we had there was a shower without any presure - took me an hour to wash my long hair as water was littially only dropping. At the reception i have been then told that it was due to the peak time where all the guests are taking shower (!!) they then realised that our room was located between two other rooms with big families with many kids.. however we got to move to anoher room, where the shower was slightly better but the watter was littially flowing out of the shower - so that the bathroom was floaded over the whole floor in the bathroom. We did not want to complain another time - a "is it better" question did never came from the staff. At the end of our stay there was a whole drama about the bill, where they "by accident" counted another 15% tax on the food bill although it was originally included into the shown price, another mistakes were than found like the deposit for the adaptor (20EUR) was forgotten to be taken off. Little things - but who would not check the bill would probably not see it. My advice: DO NOT BOOK in this Hotel - if you do so then make sure to rent a car (55 EUR per day) and check your bill at the end of your stay.
Review 36:We were in Coco de Mer for our 15 days Honneymoon. It was the 3rd Hotel we have been on the Seychelles. In comparison to the others it was b far the most expensive one and at the same time the lest nice one :( The good things abou this hotel are: Bus transfer to the beach Anse Lazio (but only for half a day) Excursion ihn the woods also organized by the hotel Good Food quality and choice.
Review 37:expensive food. shower door doesnt close properly so water drips a bit during shower. drinking water should be free/complimentary in all rooms.
Review 38:picturesque. great place for a honeymoon. Ginette at the dining and Sophia and the staff at reception were courteous and cheerful. place felt like sleeping on the ocean. nice experience.
Review 39:There was wifi only in the lobby/common areas both a positive and a negative. The shop and sports center would often close an hour or more early.
Review 40:There was much above and beyond offered. Free nature hikes, rides to the beach, canoes, music and dancing, great food!, and so much more. They really designed a great hotel that is both couple and family friendly yet gives privacy and relaxation.
Review 41:staff must realise the guests are the on holiday and require attentive service.
Review 42:clean and good food with value
Review 43:lovely stuff , great snorkeling, great prices for drinks and food, and beautiful rooms
Review 44:Flying ants in night
Review 45:The greenery around. Rain & fresh air
Review 46:lovely hotel. the seaview is really amazing,we enjoy our stay here very much.
Review 47:Unfortunately the location did not allow going anywhere without a car
Review 48:The spa in the hotel was fantastic
Review 49:Breakfast was bad and the buffet was not well stocked.
Review 50:The wharf lounge area.
Review 51:Excellent
Review 52:Wifi didn't work in the room. Breakfast had a lot to choose from, but I feel the general quality could have been a little better.
Review 53:Nice staff
Review 54:Very high room delivery charges and Indian food option.
Review 55:Location of sea facing rooms are awesome.
Review 56:Professional staff -We was feeling very welcome . Great view,swimingpool,food... Fantastic place
Review 57:only wished that atleast one indian dish was included as part of the breakfast
Review 58:personalized service and forthcoming to assist
Review 59:Beach, rooms, food, view!
Review 60:The steep steps
Review 61:A bit far out but plenty of local buses outside the hotel gates
Review 62:It shouldn't be considered as a 4 stars hotel. It's not clean enough and the interiors are not that much.
Review 63:The atmosphere is very good
Review 64:Desktop distasteful The réservation not done Confort in suites very low Food
Review 65:The view The peuple in charge of the suites
Review 66:The beach is not good at all, not a clear blue water that you could expect. Better go to Anse Lazio !
Review 67:Such a lovely place for honey moon ! best of the best but this has a price. Rooms are crazy cool, food is good, its just relaxing..
Review 68:We stayed at coco de mer for 3 nights in March. It is a beautiful property with a small private beadh as well. As Praslin in not very big, a car rental is advisable, was arranged for us by the hotel. The hotel is not too far from the jetty from where you can get the ferry to La Digue.
Review 69:Stayed there for 3 nights. A great relaxing place to unwind. Food was nice with good variety and the overall service was excellent. You can hire a rental car to go to more exotic beaches on the island which are mostly on Eastern side such as Anse Lazio and Cote D'Or.
Review 70:The attitude of one of the managers who named Andrew had big problem. We consulted for the one day excursion from the hotel and this guy provided us only one choice with very expensive price, of course we didn't choose it. We could only even paid 50 euros for a hyundai i10 one day. Maybe because we didn't choose the terrible deal (one normal boat for 580 euro half day)from Andrew, he couldn't get some commision or something like that. He even told us that we couldn't leave our luggages at the hotel after we check out and the hotel will not be responsible for our luggages! That really make us very upset! (We went La Digue for one day travel then came back to Praslin)
Review 71:Everything r fine, except one of the manager who named Andrew.
Review 72:frendliy staff , nice location , many activity in hotel
