Reviews for Hard Rock Hotel Panama Megapolis
Review 1:The billing system is confusing. First you get the invoice tip included and once you've paid you get a receipt as you didn't pay any tip. Very misleading. I felt like the staff was not happy at their work, there wasn't any genuine hospitality.
Review 2:Beautiful pool area with cabanas, great views from food top but what a shame that the roof top bar is only open from 20.00. It would be the perfect place for sundowners.
Review 3:Our stay would have been good except that in the early morning 4:30 a pipe burst above our room and started flooding. We understand this happens but it was the service response that was when the problem started. We called down to the desk and told them water was pouring into the room and they said service could come at 7 am. I went down to the front desk and asked for someone to come up immediately. They came up and saw the problem and had maintenance and cleaning staff in our room for the next hour. Since we couldn't sleep with people in our room and had a 10 am flight we began packing and asked if we could get another room to shower etc but they said this would take several hours. We went down stairs now around 7 am in the morning and went to check out. We asked for a refund on the room and were told that was ridiculous since we got it for most of the night. After arguing for half an hour we got offered a 15% discount on the rate. When we objected we were told we were leaving anyways so why did it matter if the room flooded. We tried to explain we would have slept until 7 am then showered etc and they laughed and said they didn't believe us. When we asked to talk to someone else we were told it was a weekend and no other managers were availible. Ultimately they refused to give us money back for the room and we left. We will cancel the room payment through Amex. They refused to refund the room even though we had several hundred dollars in services from the hotel is massage, dinner, bar, pool etc. No customer service for problems at all. Seems like the spray perfume or air freshener everywhere are there is strong smells everywhere We are young but the Music around the hotel is too loud
Review 4:Modern hotel with a great pool Nice rooms Breakfast buffet was great Dinner was very good
Review 5:This time I felt a sewage smell at the swimming pool area close to children's pool
Review 6:What else can i say about this hotel?, its my first choice everytime I travel to Panama city
Review 7:The hotel retains 100 USD additional per night as warrant in case the guest breaks something in the room or take something from the mini bar. This is completely ridiculous and should be informed on the website. If I had known about this policy I had not booked. The rooms are shabby. The only good thing about this hotel are the installations and amenities outside of the room. The room needs major restoration. At breakfast the cappuccino has an addition cost even though the hotel states that the breakfast is included. Wifi is working fine. They don't have an UTP cable for free in the room for you get a more stable internet, you have got to pay for it.
Review 8:Staff cleaned my room removing valuable personal items and placing them in the vault. When I returned to my room to my surprise the items were missing. Of course an alarm was raised. Cleaning staff should have left a note- saying "items"in vault to avoid any frustration.
Review 9:We went to the pool and have a lunch there but the music was so loud,we did not stayed because we could not chill...
Review 10:The room, big, clean, with nice equipment. The design, the pool area
Review 11:Great rooms and great beds. Coffe and tea included. Attentive staff. Great breakfast buffet. Nice pool and several bars. Next to shopping centre. Near casinos and bars. Very comfy stay! Food was good too.
Review 12:is a really big hotel and the elevator is always bussy and is more bussy if is beakfast time, i had to wait and elevator for 15 minutes!!! was crazy!
Review 13:the pool and the breakfast
Review 14:Not enough beds at the pool. About 20 beds for a hotel with 1468 rooms is too little. They have an amazing skybar with a nice view over the city. The only bad thing is that it opens at 8p.m. So no possibility to take picture during sunrise, daytime or sunset
Review 15:The hotel staff was good, friendly and helpful at all times. The bed was amazing and the Wifi was good as well. Location was good, because everything you need is closeby
Review 16:Nothing!
Review 17:Great service! Most of the staff we dealt with spoke English so a plus if you speak little to no Spanish. The hotel is kept very clean and is in a great location close to everything.
Review 18:The access to the hotel is very difficult to find. Maybe put up some signs?
Review 19:The food at the restaurant was great. The rooms are very comfortable. The staff people are absolutely awesome.
Review 20:New Year's Eve loud music until 7:30 in the morning. Hi bass and was quite frustrating (stayed in floor 54) Really hope this is a "New Years party thing" and not a every weekend thing!
Review 21:The staff is FANTASTIC! Super service minded, good manners, helpful and kind.
Review 22:Concierge service was not overly friendly and competent. Airconditions is not the best (room smelled musty), therefore I would definetely recommend a room with a balcony.
Review 23:Great GYM!!! Breakfast was really very good. Staff at the tours booking desk was really competent and nice. Good value for money. Big rooms with very comfortable bed.
Review 24:We asked for help on 3 seperate occations and were poorly adviced on 3 occations. Wrong advice about booking bus tickets to Bocas (we went all the way there and found out the bustickets could only be purchased the day before and not a week before, like the concierge mentioned, we asked about a nice restaurant for lunch, staff mentioned Casa Blanca in Casco Viejo, restaurant is closed for lunch... etc. Would be a tip that appointed staff knows their way around more or less.
Review 25:The room, the view, the room and the breakfast!
Review 26:Poorly constructed rooms... The drain in the shower did not drain properly so stood in about 3 inches of shower water... ECK!! Poor lighting, the room was always dark. The tv channel selection was abismal and the remote only worked when pointed 3 ft from device. The breakfast was okay but not a fan of watching people bathing while I eat.
Review 27:We were there only for a Sunday night and many of the bars and restaurants were closed - including the bar on the top floor.
Review 28:Great room - beautiful view
Review 29:Music in the bars and at the pool can be a bit loud
Review 30:Great breakfast buffet (biggest I have ever seen), spacious rooms, great bed, awesome shower, super friendly and helpful staff.
Review 31:It sounds picky, but the elevators were insanely slow and only half of them seemed to work. It seriously took forever to get anywhere. Also, had to change out the keys multiple times throughout the stay -- imagine taking forever to get upstairs and then finally getting to your room and your key not working (multiple times!).
Review 32:Great facilities for the most part. Great location.
Review 33:Elevators take really between 25 to 30 minutes to get you down or up during the week end! No laundry services on Sunday!! You book for 2 with breakfast included, they charge you the second breakfast arguing their breakfast policy...
Review 34:room with view
Review 35:Ridiculous lines to check-in-out, ridiculous lines at elevators, at any time! Humidity smelling hallways, and room. Shower with great pressure but very slow drain.
Review 36:Good location
Review 37:Everything ok...
Review 38:We just loved the breakfast and the dinner on baazar bar, its just amazing how much food we can eat there, really great and delicious food. The room was clean, very big and with an amazing view of the sea, we stayed at 41th floor. The pool do not have a view of anything...that´s not cool, but ok.
Review 39:This hotel was one of the most outstanding hotels i have Ever stayed in. its a must see and sooooo much to do!!!!!! Wish i could have stayed longer!
Review 40:This is a the Hard Rock Hotel, but would have appreciated also some places where there is less loud music. Taxi service in front of hotel is absolutely a rip-off. Charging you 2-3 times more then regular taxis.apparently hotel works with this taxis exclusively.
Review 41:good rooms, spacious and clean
Review 42:Prices were a bit over the top $7.25 for a bottle of water ! Ups and downs of Panama
Review 43:Staff very good and friendly ! Food excellent facilities great I used the gym on my stay !
Review 44:it is hard to get to the hotel if you are driving, if you miss the street it will take you 30 min to go around.
Review 45:hotel is clean, food is really good, restaurants are clean and the service is excellent.
Review 46:Requested upper floor and balcony. Was put in room on 37th floor with no balcony even though I was supposed to have a platinum suite with balcony so had to change to room with mini bar empty and towels were frayed from over use. No tea or coffee in room. Arrived at hotel before 10am so no excuse not to have room ready on upper floor with balcony for us. Ended up on 15th floor which is actually one of the lowest accommodated floors of the hotel. All this in a 5* hotel in a room I paid 350$ per night. Empty mini bar, no drinks menu in room, poor wifi in room, no coffee or tea in room and over washed frayed towels in a suite of a 5* hotel is unacceptable by any country's standards. ??
Review 47:Music, Lighting (my room was so dark), too much perfume in the air, too much ac (poorly regulated), wifi connection and strength impossible to work, bar and restaurants very expensive, inside of room very damp, poor drainage in shower, smelly bathroom
Review 48:The Spa
Review 49:Too expensive to bring any guests to the room.
Review 50:Actually got upgraded for free by simply asking the front desk! Great facilities, nightclub, best location and pretty decent pool.
Review 51:The 62 floor have an amazing view but visitors have no acces to the rooms to enjoy it.
Review 52:We had a great experience, the pool is amazing for party, drinks and relax.
Review 53:The 2 bedroom suites were not ideally located. One bedroom had a partial view of an opposing building felt somewhat alley like while the other was moderate.
Review 54:You don't have to leave the property if you choose not to because there are lots of bars and entertainment to choose from. It always felt like something was going on with the continual awesme play list throughout the lobby and some entertainment areas.
Review 55:The rooms has very thin walls and the showers make a lot of noise, so if people on the rooms next to you are up early and taking shower, you will hear all the noise :(
Review 56:The pool area was really nice. Also the experience in the spa was awesome. The room was comfy and huge for standards. Floor 62 disco was crowed and fun
Review 57:A lot of children running about the place, many unsupervised. A few minor maintenance issues with our room. Music around the pool was very loud, so much so we were unable to hold a conversation.
Review 58:Staff very helpful and seemed genuinely happy in their work. Breakfast was great.
Review 59:Waiting for the Elevator and a confusing Elevator System (not all storeys can be reached by the same Elevator). Too few pool chairs were very annoying. Plus, on the Weekends the Music at the pool is extremely loud; Forget chilling by the pool and reading a book. The Prices are too high (around 6 Dollars for a bottle of water from the mini bar, 20 Dollars for a main at Restaurant SOY and - no kidding - 56 Dollars entrance fee at the Club BLING even for guests!). Overall, we found the level of comfort and quality was more adequate for a 4* Hotel, not a 5* one...
Review 60:IF you want to party, the party is just a couple of storeys aways. The breakfast buffet was good, but not outstanding. Staff was friendly. Overall, we had fun.
Review 61:Some of the front desk staff/concierge really need customer service training. I asked about changing money and told two different answers, "yes the hotel will change it", "no we don't change". So I asked where I could change money. "I don't know"! They didn't know where a bank was nor where to change money. Also be aware the air conditioner is absolutely freezing cold. I had a lot of trouble regulating the a/c to be comfortable in the room.
Review 62:An amazing buffet breakfast, worth staying just for that. I accepted the $10 extra room upgrade offered. Had a large balcony and water view, was definitely worth it. Make sure you change your money to US dollars before you arrive at the hotel. They don't have a money exchange! It was a good location but very expensive to eat and drink in the hotel.
Review 63:In general pool bar staff are very inattentive
Review 64:They upgraded me to a lovely suite- thank you very much. The steak restaurant and sushi restaurants are both fabulous Most staff great
Review 65:The shower does not drain too well (both rooms I stayed in on both occasions). Breakfast could start a little earlier, especially given how hot it gets very early (if you want to enjoy outdoor life).
Review 66:Excellent amenities, great location, very spacious rooms.
Review 67:Nothing... NOTHING dries in the room. The hotel is in the tropoc but it's freezing inside, what's the deal with air con all over the facilities? The whole hotel is a bit like a circus.
Review 68:The room was great with a nice view, and the breakfast mindblowing. There is also an early breakfast for those leaving very early!
Review 69:Th cinnamon smell in the lobby is reallyy strong
Review 70:I liked the pool the room service the food was great especially the breakfeast i loved the vieuw and the night club on top the location is perfect
Review 71:The swimming pool area should have extended hours of operation on weekends. They close too early.
Review 72:Customer service was very attentive. The tv did not work properly but the IT Dept.made a visit to my room within minutes from my phone call and resolved the issue. Breakfast buffet was delicious and I loved the juice bar.
Review 73:We sometimes had to call housekeeping as they didn't leave enough towels, toiletries, etc. there were not many loungers at the pool so you had to be there early to get one.
Review 74:The hotel was great, location was good and staff were mostly very helpful
Review 75:A few too many knocks on the door, but otherwise great.
Review 76:The hotel was spectacular. It has everything, they make you feel cared for, the breakfast and food is awesome, the rooms are amazing, live music, nightclub, flair bartenders, great gym, awesome pool area, it was just a top notch experience.
Review 77:Too crowded and noisy. Long waits for elevators. Not a single peaceful place to hang out anywhere in the hotel. Staff knocking on doors at odd times. Would not stay there again.
Review 78:It is noisy ,chaotic ,elevators are a farce 36 minutes to go from lobbyto room and back to lobby the worst hotel I have stayed in 28 trips topanama city
Review 79:Compared to other panama hotels nothing
Review 80:Loud (mostly rock) music is played in all public places such as the lobby restaurant and bars. Personell was grumpy and room service came at 16hr when we just got back from an afternoon in the old town. The interior could use an update. If you like to stay in a luxurious 5 star hotel with 5 star look and feel, don't pick this hotel.
Review 81:We had a big clean room, nice view over the city
Review 82:The loud music all the time!
Review 83:We stayed 6 nights should have only been 2 based on the fact the music was too loud and we couldn't get away from it. We won't stay at a Hard Rock again based on the music being too intense.
Review 84:Fantastic end to our holiday. We had been staying in hostels for a while so was great to be able to stay at the hard rock. Lovely room and superb breakfast.
Review 85:As an American, I was very against staying in such a tourist hotel, but I have to say, this was such a fun hotel to stay at for 1 night. We partied at the pool early evening and through the night on the 62nd floor and just had a blast. I cannot believe I am recommending this hotel, but it was totally worth staying there.
Review 86:The room was cold because the air conditioning was too strong. I don't know why but I couldn't turn down the air conditioner.
Review 87:Location and ocean view
Review 88:Very few English speaking staff members. Inconsistency on prices to move around town. It appeared that each worker had a person they were working with to charge for can fair. Felt a little taken advantage. I would have rented a car and tried my own luck
Review 89:Pool area was appealing and the room was nice
Review 90:Overpriced drinks in all hotel bars and restaurant, 7 bucks for a plastic cup of cheap beer is too much even for an fancy hotel like this
Review 91:For Panama city it has a hefty pricetag but it´s worth it! Staff, bed, pool, breakfast were all amazing. Definetely try the Soy restaurant, it´s first class food
Review 92:Breakfast service is poor. Waiters are more stressed with cleaning the table's then taking care off the needs from the client.
Review 93:Variety off "To Do" after work Hours
Review 94:Confusing elevator system: Some of them serve only specific floors, but have buttons for all floors. Some floors are only accessible at a specific time. Some floors will not be served by elevator, even though there is a door or a button in the elevator. View from pool is not as nice as on the pictures (but still nice). The room had a minor smell and the whirlpool on the main level did not seem clean.
Review 95:Good location, obliging and mostly friendly staff. Rooms are large and have a nice inventory. Bathroom is luxury and comfortable (nice shower). Breakfast is very good with a huge selection. Try to get a room with balcony facing the sea and you can watch ships entering the panama canal from your bed. Very nice bar on the 62nd floor.
Review 96:The staff is really friendly and helpful. Its a great hotel for small kids too. The location is perfect and its the best hotel we have stayed so far. Very recomendable for families with small kids.
Review 97:Bedroom floors slippery Don't think because it's a hard rock that the staff are better with English Internet and TV were out for over a full day No where near beaches and the attached casino is horrible
Review 98:Panamanian sancoccho soup Rafael at guest and business services
Review 99:There is no Hard Rock Cafe restaurant and the music at night to some bars was not really Rock
Review 100:The place is very luxury and the staff was very helpful. I enjoy every moment of my stay.
Review 101:The only access to hotel was via Ave. Balboa, access from the west was closed. Every time we went back to the room we had to open the balcony doors because of the strong smell of mold. The rooms were very dark because of really poor lighting.
Review 102:Generally, the staff were great. The lifts worked very well, we never had to wait. The breakfasts were EXCELLENT. We were on the 37th floor, so that was a bonus. The view from "Bits" is quite something.
Review 103:Service at the pool bar was not as great as it should have been. I sat there and everyone was passing as if they could not see me. I had to complain to a waitress after several minutes to get service. There and then I stopped giving tips at the pool bar because I had no intention to tip bad service.
Review 104:The location was great because of its proximity to malls and restaurants. The nightclub was great. We did not have to leave the hotel for a night out.Taxi fares were also very reasonable and staff at the bars and buffet restaurant were very pleasant and attentive
Review 105:The elevators are no good, plenty of them but do not appear to be in sinc with floor request. Dinning choices are not up to selection options as experienced in other HRH globally.
Review 106:Cleanliness, location.
Review 107:We had to sign a non-smoking policy but in the swimming pool area lotsof people were smoking. No swimming for us …The Hard Rock Hotel "taxi service" was quite the experience. Our driver didn't want to pay toll and tried to tag along real-close-behind other cars paying. There were some minutes of waiting, and then driving really fast before the beam would go back down. The first try didn't work and the beam was down right before the front window. The driver was visibly happy that his window was still in one part. Second try was successful, except then for the part that the beam landed on top of the car and that police agents knew what our driver was planning. They were blowing their whistles but he ignored their signs and whistles and drove one like nothing had happened. Not sure if this is the kind of review Hard Rock Hotel staff likes to read, but to us, this was a VERY negative experience. Hopefully, in the future, Hard Rock Hotel works together with trustworthy drivers …
Review 108:Breakfast was excellent, staff is helpful big time (they see where theirhelp can be needed without you asking), location is simply horrible(view on the ocean is basically view on the city towards the ocean, mostly looking at the backside of a bunch of billboards).
Review 109:they need offer more information about restaurants and activities they need to offer a private service to the airport for guests
Review 110:Staff, room and service
Review 111:The elevators are terrible. Be prepared to wait 15 minutes before and elevator comes. Then be prepared to see twenty people squished shoulder to shoulder when the doors open. Room service took over an hour to bring home a bottle of wine, the kid broke the cork when he tried to open it. I had to open the bottle myself.
Review 112:It took a very long time to check in after a very long day of travel. I ordered transportation from the hotel to pick us up at the airport nobody was there to guide us...we ended up finding the hard rock kiosk at the airport. We also ordered transportation back to the airport and in the lobby waiting at the location we were told to be, we had to find someone to get our ride. Elevators did not work properly it took forever,
Review 113:Staff was very nice.
Review 114:First of all .the shower in the bathroom would fill up with water when you would finish showering. The room would be dark at night even with the lights on. There was A lot of humidity in the rooms therefore the bedsheets and towels would seem as if they were wet or damp. The closet could not be used because the clothes you would hang up in the closet would be damp. The elevators were not in the right function, it was a nightmare.
Review 115:I enjoyed the food and the view. I love the way the hotel was decorated.
Review 116:Broken door lock, me door was not lock my first day. and it took them long to fix it when i was trying to have a nap
Review 117:Room was nice and clean. Front deck where super nice and helpfull
Review 118:- Elevetors system is a total disaster - no all of them are working and sometimes you need to wait more than 5 minutes for an elevator - Only some of the staff speaks english (reception dask mainly) - Service at the pool bar is very poor - probably ignoring guests not speaking english, confuses order's items and so on... - The location is between a mall (very very noisy fans) and other hotels - not much to see - Taxis by the hotel are 3-4 times more expensive than only 100m further over the shopping mall
Review 119:- The gold suite is superb - very big and comfortable - Breakfast food variety is on of the best - Bed sleeping comfort - great! - Nice pool with a bar - Variety of restaurants
Review 120:The vybe was really nice. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The food was excellent and the service was 5 star. The rooms were tastefully done and the entertainment was a bonus. We will definitely recommend staying at the Hard Rock hotel Panama
Review 121:Sullen buffet workers. Very slow to respond to requests; minimal lighting in rooms
Review 122:Friendly receptionist, Grace Ann; very pleasant non - Panamanian elevator operator; great valet parking; very pleasant older omelet man.
Review 123:Poor lighting in the bathroom and the room service didn't leave wash clothes most of my week stay.
Review 124:The service, the buffet breakfast and the cleanliness.
Review 125:After waiting over 15 minutes to have anyone greet us or take an order at the bar we ended up leaving the hotel and going to a restaurant across the street for dinner and drinks.
Review 126:The décor was awesome; we really enjoyed the atmosphere.
Review 127:Didn't like the actual room as it was located 2 floors above the giant extractor fans [ 2m in diameter ] running 24 hours and no decent view
Review 128:Easy to connect wifi anywhere, great location, room was large and comfortable Tauro restaurant was excellent
Review 129:Had a couple of run in with security asking for $100 cash to bring my friend in to hotel, which they would pocket. Also were rude and called my friends wife names
Review 130:Great location and ammenities
Review 131:We were there on a Saturday night and left to catch a flight at 5 am.Even on the 30th floor we kept hearing the thumping sound of music andpeople partying all night. Bring a pair of ear plugs if you like tosleep and rest.
Review 132:Great location. Excellent room with a outstanding view of city andocean. Friendly helpful staff. Connected to a mall - very convenient.Very clean and spotless. Even think of early travellers like us withcoffee and croissants in morning.
Review 133:The hotel has many lights and the room is very dark, also has a strong smell perfume.Definitely not a hotel to rest, is a hotel for those who like to party and shake. I had a problem on the reservation by booking, I changed the room for 2 people, for a room for 3 people, and at the check in, i have to pay the extra bed, paid twice by the change.
Review 134:The Hotel is nicely decorated, very beautiful, lots of food and leisure options, large room, breakfast is great , is a fun hotel.
Review 135:There are 2 bottled water in the riom, but only one is free. Why not both? The snacks from the snack bar inside the room were all pricey. Small pringle costs $3.50 USD and m&m costs $3.00.
Review 136:Very wide, clean, comfortable room with king size bed. Wi-fi connection was excellent. The city view was excellent. The free breakfast was a buffet. I like the setup on the pool with lounges, tables and a bar. The pool was huge and very clean.
Review 137:there was nothing not to like
Review 138:The staff is ver y friendly and courteous, great breakfast buffet, the location was on point. I love the accomodations and the gym was state of the artes. I will return to this hotel, have already recommended it to friends and family
