Review 1：The hotel was perfect for our short stay. We had stayed New Year's Day 2015, also. All things fit our needs. It was clean and quiet and the staff was very nice. The price was also perfect.

Review 8：Nothing bad, just a few quirky things we noticed in the room. And I had called to request a room in a certain part of the hotel, and they had not booked it, but changed our room before we checked in.

Review 23：This hotel (The Atlantic) was due to a horrific prior hotel situation with no towels, no maid service (even when requested), my laptop being bigger then the TV and a just plain dingy appearance. The Atlantic made up for it and then some! Plenty of towels, staff were all so friendly! Beds were very comfy with a view of the bay!!!!

Review 24：Noise from nearby club until midnight. Hallway doors were noisy (though fortunately not used much during the night). Free breakfast was offered at adjacent hotel, but not too much of an inconvenience.

Review 25：When we arrived, elevator was out of order, so we were given a suite on the first floor at the same price. Also, we arrived a day earlier than planned, so we able to stay an extra night at the same rate. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Location was great.

The hotel is quite dated and there are obvious signs of things being let go (unfixed crack in corner of ceiling, etc) the couch was circa 1970s, but the room itself was clean. Parking was plus. Breakfast was a joke. It was microwaveable breakfast burritos (a generic store brand of sorts) cheap pastries. We just oped to eat out. Overall a great stay but I might spend the 20-40$ more next trip a stay at the Hilton

Disappointing if your looking forward to just walking from the hotel to the beach. This is also a high traffic area so be aware.

Review 61：Our stay was ok, nothing really negative to relate. The room was clean and large, glad we had a kitchen to keep some food and drinks. We had 2 large beds with plenty of room but only a couple of chairs.

Review 62：Great location, close to the beach and Newport historic mansions. The beach is very clean and great for kids. The hotel is also very clean and well maintained.

Review 63：Filthy! Had to change dirty sheets upon check in. Shower still had previous guests toiletries (and hair) in tub. On check in Floor was so dirty that socks had to be worn and they were black with dirt after a few minutes walking in the room. Cable TV never functioned for a week (we we're on the beach so it wasn't used but would've been nice if we wanted to. Door lock mechanism would not allow us access to the room and required multiple trips to the lobby where finally we had to be let in with a master key. One single very slow elevator for entire property. Very limited parking at night.

Review 69：Room was advertised and booked as a King Suite with a living section separate from the bedroom and a TV in each. Was told they had just renovated and the room now has 2 king beds and no living area. There was a couch and a chair in the room but each faced the bed and you could not watch the TV unless you were on the bed. You could not use the couch or chair to sit in and watch tv because of their locations. The bathroom faucet dripped and the entry door to the room was broken. The coffee pot was useless for anyone who drinks coffee more than a single cup in the morning.

Review 85：During off season you would expect a Newport hotel to be up to your standards since they aren't very busy. When we arrived our room was so cold, the heat wasn't turned on and took almost 3 hours to heat up. The key didn't work in he door and my husband had to go to the front desk to be let in and was told if he left again he would have to get them again to be let in. Our room was in the back of the hotel with a dive bar right next door. The music was playing loudly till around 1AM, I was wondering why we were put in that room when the hotel wasn't even full. Lastly, the hotel states complimentary breakfast in the morning, this consisted of coffee and juice and cereal in a plastic container in the lobby, which was strange. I wish our experience had been better since we visit Newport many times throughout the year.

Review 87：Went out to enjoy dinner and a play at the Playhouse. When we came back to the hotel around 12:30 am, found someone had smoked cigarettes in their room. I have emphysema had trouble breathing , shortness of breath, couldn't sleep with the smell of strong smoke throughout the second floor. I understand it was a guest and not the hotel staff.. I did call the front desk , he did come up right away to check on the problem.. We didn't know which guest was smoking .

Review 88：Been here many times traveling each winter with a group of friends . We love the location, the pond view, and the comfortable over sized rooms.

Review 89：front desk girl was so rude and unfriendly. I called and requested a late check out and was told ok. I asked about it again at check in and she said no we do not do that. It was winter who stays at the beach in winter. we had an issue with the room key 3x. Finally she opened it manually and said everytime you return you need to come get me and I will let you in. Asked for a change in room so that we did not have to deal with this was told no rooms available. This was a pain as you can tell would like to be compensated for this!!

Review 100：Except for the bed & mattress which were excellent, the furniture is dated and should have been replaced by now. The bathroom faucet was cracked and glued back together. The toilet rocked a bit on it's mount. The complimentary breakfast food was better than just fair or poor as rated by others but there are no tables to sit down at to eat, so you eat from your lap in the lobby or take it back to your room. We could here the couple in the next room making out....just be aware if your GF is a screamer.

Review 101：The rooms are very large, with a good layout. The mattress in our room was very firm and like brand-new, very comfortable. The staff was helpful. Most rooms look out at the bay on the north side of the beach which is a pleasant view. No traffic noise at this hotel that I could hear. There are a handful of restaurants all within a few minutes walk and all seemed at least average or better. I would stay again, but look for deals on weekday stays.

Review 102：My wife and i were down for restaurant week. we chose the Atlantic Beach Club for our stay on Saturday night. The room was nice but around 5:00 pm we heard pounding on our walls and loud noise from the room next door. They had 4 adults in the same room making a lot of noise. I called the front desk to complain. We ended up leaving the hotel and went next door. We could only imagine how loud these people would get around 10:00 pm. The hotel informed us they could only speak to them about the noise and we would have to wait until after 8:00 pm to complain. You should not have to be put out when your trying to relax. I asked to speak to a manager and she works monday to friday 7:00-3:00. If you are going to stay at this hotel to relax don't bother no one will help or take care of you on the weekends. I'm glad we had no children with us at that time.

Review 103：The room we never got to stay in. The bed looked comfortable.

Review 104：The heater in the bedroom didn't work. They told me to let it run for a while and it would warm up but it didn't. I had to keep the one in the living room blasting to warm up the room. The key cards didn't work either. We were constantly locked out of our room and had to keep getting new keys. One time they had to send the maintenance man up to unlock the door because non of the key cards would work. It was such a hassle.

Review 111：The bed was uncomfortable. There was not enough light. There needed to be at least an overhead light in the entry way of the room so that while one is in the bathroom another may be getting ready using the mirror on the bathroom door. The room needed a makeover and definitely a new bed that would be conducive to a good night sleep.

Review 113：In general, the tone of the desk staff was that the guests were a nuisance. We had to change our room in the middle of the night (12am) when we realized the sleeper sofa, which we had said we needed, was completely broken. When we called the front desk, a man came up 10 minutes later and told us he didn't understand why were were put there in the first place because they knew the sofa was broken. I alerted the front desk to this at checkout and nothing was offered to compensate us for our trouble that should have been avoided in the first place. It's unfortunate, because I would have considered returning but because of the service I will not.

Review 115：The staff was not up to what we have been accustomed to in the past. Also the it took the cleaning staff much too long to clean our rooms. The day before we left we went to the front desk at 1pm to let them know our room would be vacant and ready to clean. We came back from the beach 2 hours later and room still had not been clean. We had no clean towels for showers and I had to again go to the front desk to ask for some. They sent someone up 10 mins later with the towels. At 4:45 the cleaning person knocked and ask if she could clean the room. I told her my husband was in the shower but we would be out by 5pm. Then I got a call from the front desk asking if there was a problem. I explained but she was very short with me. That has never happened at this hotel in the past 10 yrs we have been staying there! Additionally, my husband left his hat on the TV in the bedroom when we left. I called a few days later to ask if they found it but I never received a response.

Review 116：The location was wonderful and the rooms were a good size.

Review 117：Property was a previous Quality Inn...room furnishings seemed to be the Quality Inn "originals". AC worked...however air being dispelled "smelled"...most likely needs a good cleaning. Inside hallways wet from humidity and open windows...creating a slippery floor surface on those hallways....mentioned to staff....basically implied nothing could be done. I suggested at least a dry mopping and some floor fans...comment was "great idea"...that was it.
