Reviews for Furama City Centre
Review 1:Bathroom shower stall was not cleaned twice. She neglected to check it.
Review 2:The staff was second to none! The staff in the exectutive lounge is world class! We will definitely be back to this hotel.Saori and Aaron were the "BEST" hostess we have ever had - in 30 plus years of staying in hotels. Please let them know we said thanks a million!!!!!! There was also another hostess assisting Aaron the evening of 29 Dec 2015. We didn't get her name but she was awesome as well.
Review 3:I forget small blanket in my room after I left few hours I call asking about my blanket and they told me they will check and I call may times and they say sorry we cant find . Be careful if miss something you will not get it again.
Review 4:Had to change rooms a couple of times, but no problem to staff. No hot water in bath, although shower was great. would still come back.
Review 5:Staff and executive club excellent. Hotel in great position, able to walk or catch train easily. stayed 30 years ago would stay again.
Review 6:The Executive Lounge should be located on the Executive floor for the ease of those staying on the executive floors..
Review 7:The hotel was central to many location. Transport was easy to get at and the hotel was never crowded.
Review 8:However Furama hotel has elevator (moving stairs, not lift - moving cabing) from the ground flow that is not really convenient if you have a baby carriage. Our room was on 14th floor close to a lift. We could hear the lifts noise. It was not too loud so did not really bother us, but could be an issue for sleep-sensitive people.
Review 9:Stayed there for 3 nights from 12 of Nov. Very good location. 5 minutes to go till Chinatown MRT station. Chinapoint shopping mall with lots of caffees and restaurants. We traveled with our 1 year daughter who recently started to walk. Thus it was very important for us to get spacious room. Furama has it indeed. (For Singapore it even huge).
Review 10:The swimming pool can be improved to incorporate a kids pool. Entrance to the pool is also complicated.
Review 11:The staffs were polite and attended to my request of a birthday cake for my husband, with great initiative.
Review 12:I have rebook in advance with highlighted notes that no last room, non-smoking room, 1 queen bed and late check in. Unfortunately, I was waiting for 45mins for available room. I was so disappointed with the service.
Review 13:It needs major referbishment...the room they are presenting on the photos are maybe from another hotel..
Review 14:Good view to the opposite building which is nice architecturally ... Near the MRT ...good air conditioning
Review 15:Some facilities were a little tired. Lighting for putting make up on wasn't great. Some people were having issues with the security features in the lift. Over all good though.
Review 16:The staff were wonderful and the price for the location was great. Great value for money and next time I am in Singapore I will stay here again for sure.
Review 17:Nothing.
Review 18:Lovely hotel, right in the heart of Chinatown and a very short walk to Clarke Quay. Close to the Tube Station, so travelling around was easy. Fantastic staff, look after your every whim, especially Miss Joy Park in the Executive Lounge, lovely person.
Review 19:my room view was not good, the bathroom shower not powerful, and not sufficient hot water. The value of money for this room was too high
Review 20:friendly approach by hotel personnel
Review 21:The breakfast was only for 2 people if we brought our little kids (3 and 9 years old) we would be charged SGD 20 for each child. It's so ridiculous when my children just ate 2 pieces bread or little bit fried rice, that's it.
Review 22:Location was perfect very near chinatown mrt and bus station. Many shopping mall surrounding hotel so it was very easy to get delicious food and anything else. Staff very helpful. Special thanks to Ms Nur Ina from executive lounge for the hospitality to us and our kids.
Review 23:Check in is at 2 pm, I arrived at 5 pm to be told my room was not ready and had to wait 20 mins at reception. All this after a 14 hour flight. My room did not materialise, and after another visit to reception I finally got my room an hour later. The air con did not work and the control was broken. When I complained to a cleaner, was told that the temperature was set at a maximum of 24 degrees to save energy. The next day I lost my voice as I has been sleeping in a room more like a sauna. It felt more like 30 degrees in the room. I was finally moved to another room 2 days later by the wonderful Rosalie at reception, whom I am grateful to. She also allowed me a late check out as a gesture of goodwill. Thank you, Rosalie and if the bosses are reading this, Rosalie deserves a pay rise!
Review 24:Efficient and helpful concierge and staff. Excellent location for transport, a stone's throw from Chinatown for delicious food and culture, and near other interesting places for a tourist. A bit dated but you get what you pay for.
Review 25:A bit of construction going on nearby, not noisy but not great to look at. Rooms a bit dated, but very clean and comfortable
Review 26:Friendly, helpful staff and very close to MRT stations. Room size big by Singapore standards and quite comfortable.
Review 27:Unclear queue of where to check in n check out. Seems all in the same queue whether check in/out, waste of time if in the wrong queue.
Review 28:Good location as near to eateries, shopping mall n mrt station.
Review 29:Air con should be upgraded to the type whereby the guest can control their preference of the room temperature.
Review 30:Air con in the executive club room is not cold, cannot be adjusted. Therefore, front office upgraded us to the executive suites room. Nice gesture and appreciate the offer.
Review 31:Reconstruction near the pool, quite expensive, not an easy to find entrance near the local cafes with not a pleasant smell
Review 32:Nice lounge, central location with great views
Review 33:Stay was to short.
Review 34:Excellent position for getting to Chinatown and all the other top places to see. Hotel staff were very attentive and friendly. Well worth paying the extra for the Excective Lounge. We would highly recommend this hotel and would not hesitate in going back.
Review 35:The room was just too old. Perhaps a little upgrade or renovation would improve ratings.
Review 36:It was near the MRT. The hotel room was very clean. Most of the staff were quite pleasant.
Review 37:The housekeeping forgot a couple of things in my room a couple of times - some pillowcases, hand towels. The shower water was also often not hot enough.
Review 38:Great location and really nice comfortable room.
Review 39:I was given a room on the 4th floor, I had to ask for a room change in the middle of the night because the noise coming from the pub was so unbearable! Please ask for a higher floor room if you want to have a good night sleep
Review 40:This was a big surprise. After six weeks around Europe, with varying degrees of quality and service, Furama City Centre was fabulous! Top floor view, outstanding room, superb service in food and drinks extras and the staff were very helpful in allowing us a late checkout and being able to leave our luggage, but also to come back and have a bit to eat and drink before our late flight out of Singapore. The only problem was....we wanted to stay longer!!!
Review 41:Bath tub was a bit broken, could be repaired in the near future
Review 42:Good location, close to MRT and walking distance to many attractions. Nice Pool and gym
Review 43:Unfortunately my room was next to the elevator shaft and quite noisy.
Review 44:Staff is always friendly and pleased to help. This was a return visit because I enjoyed my last stay.
Review 45:Nothing found bad,
Review 46:The service they provided is excellent ,they gave u full service without disturbing ur praivacy, location fantastic ,very convenient to adopt world class local transport,
Review 47:Booking.com advertise hotel as having a bar with live music----bar & music went years ago. Booking.com advertise hotel as having international menu, this is not the case restaurant is Malaysian halal, this is not international
Review 48:Excellent friendly staff, especially club guest staff. Convenient for China Town & riverside when raining can move around entire local area without getting wet, covered walkways all around
Review 49:Too much bureaucracy. Check in was complicated which took almost an an hour and was called to do it all again the next day. The hotel took the money from my bank 3 weeks before the date of stay! Towels and water in the room were forgotten. There is no wifi which seems ridiculous in this age. The rooms are shabby with peeling enamel on the bath and stained drains and walls. Very old fashioned and not value for money.
Review 50:The location is fantastic and the pool is lovely.
Review 51:Was made to wait for an hour because of the unavailability of room. After the hour is up, I was asked to wait for another hour if I wanted a non-smoking room, which was what I had requested during the booking. I refused to wait and wanted to know why I had to wait for another hour for my room.
Review 52:Bed was comfortable and clean.
Review 53:They made us (big family with 6 adults & 3 little children) wait for 3 hours (till 5PM) to have our 3 rooms, which is unacceptable.
Review 54:almost everything :) except....
Review 55:The rooms are very old, our bathroom taps kept on falling off the wall and we told staff about them, our aircon was absolutely terrible even after asking twice in a 5 night stay, 24 degrees at coldest and the fan was had banging noises on medium and full setting, the bed linen was not good and not the right size for the bed, we asked twice for a double bed and only had 2 single beds for our 5 night stay. we stayed on level 6 and every night must have had a function on level 5 ballroom which was very noisy until well after midnight.
Review 56:the location is good for mrt. the staff are absolutely lovely 100% every time and certainly no complaints there
Review 57:The hot water temperature was very cool at times. In Singspore heat we didn't complain. At one point all cold water stopped and the toilet would not flush but the staff corrected this quickly.
Review 58:The pool, breakfast and staff were great. The view from executive rooms and especially the executive lounge with food and drinks 6-8pm make this upgrade excellent value. The location that can access the Chinatown MRT using a undercover walkway was very convienent.
Review 59:The fridge did not work and they didn't seem to be able to fix it. Curtain rail was broken. Sink was blocked. Room next door was unoccupied but phone kept ringing - possibly an alarm
Review 60:Convenient for Chimatown and the RMT
Review 61:Windows need replacing-double glazing steamed up and dirty. Gym and pool were a no-no. Not enticing. Wi-fi should be free
Review 62:Location-close to China Town and MRT
Review 63:Charmless hotel, small swimming pool over a street under construction. Not good value for the money but everything is exensive in Singapour . Spend a few more dollars and you ll get much better hotels
Review 64:Great location , comfy beds,
Review 65:The room was a bit expensive for the size but it made up in terms of location.
Review 66:The hotel was just across the Peoples Park Center and minutes away from the MRT. Very close to food shops and Chinatown shops! The bed was big. The staff was extremely friendly especially Bala, Raja, and Ms. Mae at the front desk. Overall had a great stay!
Review 67:My room were right next to all the lifts between floors operating 24 hrs-no sleep sounds like the Sentosa Cable Car being operated from my room-The view was a noisy building site. Rooms smell dump with moist
Review 68:The staff being excellent and the location very nice, within walking distance to most places
Review 69:Noisy air conditioner. Too hard mattress. Not enough hanging space in wardrobe Not enough draws. Very noisy with building across the street.
Review 70:Swimming pool. Staff attitude and assistance
Review 71:no bad experience, just had to pay extra for wifi each day.
Review 72:We had a spacious room, location was great, close to China Town and walking distance to the river. Staff were helpful and breakfast was sufficient for us.
Review 73:The smell is really bad in the hotel and sometimes also in the room! They should do something with it.
Review 74:The location is very good and the bad is so big!
Review 75:Check in was only at 3pm as the hotel was running on full occupancy. However, they allowed us to check out at 1pm instead of 12noon to make up for it.
Review 76:The location was good! It was near to Clarke Quay and Chinatown MRT which made it very central to everywhere else. We were there to celebrate my friend's birthday and had to enlist the help of the staff there so that my friend would not be suspicious. She was very helpful and even acceded to our request for connecting rooms!
Review 77:everything seem ok but the lobby look quite dark n not model
Review 78:my booking was superior twin but had been upgrate to deluxe coz there's no available non smoking room. it's so great :-)
Review 79:I was twice experiace booked by Agoda then the lastly by E mail.com once time of breacfast we would like to entering the dining room then the staff asked wich room Sir? We just knew if our booked is not included the breacfast. So we have to addional paid $ 30/ day.
Review 80:close to my office in China town office
Review 81:Awful view from the rooms to construction site. Breakfast is poor and the taste of the most dishes is not tasty. Rooms and corridors are confined. Service is not very friendly.
Review 82:Convenient location is not far from local sightseens like Merlion, Marina Bay Sands, Bars and Restaurants. 5 minutes from Metro station.
Review 83:[1] The price of the late check out - very expensive pro rata price - but desperately needed the privacy to rest before my 14 hour return flight [2] When I had a guest visit me in the executive suite, I was requested to pay fee of $38 (SGD) £17 (GBP) for a single coke (even though that was all she required) quite happy to pay bar prices & be told my visitor was not able to eat there without paying the fee - really put me off the whole ethos of your Hotel welcoming guests. Being an experienced traveller it left a bad taste & made my guest (client) feel very uncomfortable. [3] Access to Swimming Pool & gym (up & down stairs). [4] The Gym is very depressing compared to other ones for this level of hotel. At least have the running machines facing the window.
Review 84:The staff, so friendly & helpful. Big thanks to Rosalie, Front of House Mgr (if not why not), the ladies in the Executive suite (F & B) and generally most of the team I encountered. Being a woman travelling alone they were able to meet my requirements.
Review 85:Housekeeping just made up beds, didn't clean room and bathroom. On our last night, we had to ask for bath towels as there's none in the room- only DAMP hand towels ( damp- meaning used towels when we were out the whole day)- makes me wonder if the towels were indeed clean!
Review 86:Gave my nanny a birthday cake foe her birthday- great PR! Location is sipmply great, connected by bridge to mall so you won't have to go down street level.....
Review 87:Wonder what those flower pots lining both ends of each step of stairs to the exit door served. You need to line the edge of the steps a different colour to warn users from mis-stepping and falling down getting sued
Review 88:Swimming pool and other facilities Helpful staff
Review 89:You don't choose the Furama for it's gym, that's non-existant with its three machines. The pool area's a bit old, but you get what you pay for.
Review 90:Boat Quay, Marina, Downtown, Chinatown, everything's a few walking minutes away.
Review 91:Be careful, the price shown is different from the one charged--my bad I didn't notice that the service and tax were excluded from the Booking.com offer. Internet is not free.
Review 92:I love the location, how it is very central, Chinatown and Clarke Quay are just 5 minutes walking. The swimming pool is nice. The city view :) They gave me a free upgrade to Deluxe.
Review 93:The swimming pool was very small.
Review 94:Just a block away from big shopping malls in Chinatown and MRT, 10 mins walk from Clarke Quay. Very friendly and helpful staff, as a family of 4, the hotel offered 2 rooms which were connected by a door inside the room.
Review 95:Hotel is old and dated. Rooms are nothing like the photos on website. Our first rooms were smelly and not very clean.
Review 96:Service was good. Buffet breakfast is good. Location very good.
Review 97:Bed a little too firm for my liking, and cover heavy.
Review 98:Efficiency and warmth of Staff, particularly in The Executive Lounge. The position is excellent and easily accessible to Downtown, Marina Bay, Orchard Rd etc
Review 99:The food is terrible, so is the appearance of the restaurant. Due to business requirements had to extend my stay for half a day and they made me pay double the price of a full day. The swimming pool is a joke, always closed for maintenance.
Review 100:The Gym/ health club is useless... Small, no equipment and not suitable for business traveller who likes keeping fit.
Review 101:The Exec Club staff were absolutely 5 star with their politeness, especially Saori San who helped me numerous times!! Only 4 star hotel ..but these staff were 5 star, thank you esp for single foreign traveller on business. Thanks Erin
Review 102:Slow incheck process, slow outcheck process. Dining room is like messroom of cheap officer's club. Entrance to gymnasium and pool poor.
Review 103:Room, location, cleanliness of room, absolute value for money.
Review 104:Booked with a special rate for 2 x superior rooms, and being upgraded to 2 connecting deluxe double room at high floor. Locationis justnext to MRT station.
Review 105:During my stay, the road works outside the main entrance was very noisy, but was only in day time. Some rooms close to the lift shaft's are noisy, avoid these if possible.
Review 106:Friendly staff, great location for China Town, clean comfortable rooms. good service
Review 107:Foods is cheap but you need second round it is too little for one person. S$3 you can buy s meal. How nice there are so many stores in this shopping centre I am sure you need foods to go on and on for shopping and have a good time indeed.
Review 108:Foods and shopping and a meeting place indeed you will be happy in this shooping centre.
Review 109:The size of the room and the toilet needs more wall hooks to hang our clothes and towel. Perhaps the shower area needs a door so that the water would not splash out.
Review 110:It is near to the smrt station, also the staff were really friendly and helpful.
Review 111:Maybe the fact that it is rundown and perhaps food can be improvise.
Review 112:We stayed in the executive room at level 22 for one night. Nothing much going on at this hotel, but I super love the executive lounge. It is awesome. Free food, and drinks at specific timing, very private and quite cozy too. The hotel is abit rundown. Room wise it's clean, and basic necessities is taken care of. Love the pillow menu, the bed and the pillows provided is very comfy, me and the husband really had a good sleep. Location wise, it's in the middle of Chinatown and walking distance to Clarke quay. Convenient and accessible. Breakfast were average, not that fantastic but its ok. We had room service, food served within an acceptable time range. Staff's were very polite and professional, even though few mistakes such as wrong food order and miscalculation of my hotel billls, they apologised and did service recovery very well.
Review 113:The bathroom had glass/frosted walls which provided no privacy at all. We would have to inform each other when we were using the toilet/shower so that the other would be able to look away. Also wifi was very expensive so we did not use this even though we required it to contact our familys in the uk. For the price you pay for the room rate I would expect free wifi
Review 114:Overall our stay was really good. Bed was comfortable and the staff were pleasant
Review 115:Just lot of insect that jumping around the bed and bit me, AND NO HOT WATER AFTER 11:00 ONLY warm water
Review 116:Close to center and with bridge linked to different place so you don't get wet on a rainny day, NICE VIEW
Review 117:Quality - awful carpets, so old looking it's like a retirement home when winding through the corridors. Facilities are tearing at the seams. Hardly any natural light coming room in reception area. Basic swimming pool not very clean looking Room - pretty much windowless. It remains like a coffin throughout the day as the only window is a tiny slit that faces indoors. Expensive - wifi is separate and is extortionate! Can't remember exact number now but something like $20-$25 sing dollars. Breakfast if not included in room rate is also insane. Seriously - this place is depressing. There are so many better establishments for the price you pay in Singapore (even with discount!!). This is classic example if 4* only accounting for facilities provided (so very basic) not the quality you will experience. I've had better 1* or even guesthouse experience.
Review 118:Location - right by Chinatown. Walking distance to downtown and nightlife
Review 119:Only outdoor space is by the pool. Lobby and Lounge have no natural light.
Review 120:Executive rooms are comfortable ad well-equipped. Executive lounge facitlities and staff excellent.
Review 121:At least provide free wifi at the hotel lobby or a cheaper and reasonable wifi rate.
Review 122:The staffs was friendly, efficent service on helping customer to check in promptly.tumbs up for the bell boy, excellent service even better than the receptionist
Review 123:The restaurant needs some reno done.
Review 124:The room has an excellent view. Very conveniently located close to the shopping centres, Clark Quay and the river walk.
Review 125:I booked the hotel via the internet booking.com and I have no idea that the hotel will charged the breakfast for S$25.00 and the hotel staff told me that I have to stated while I booking for the internet access. Even there is NOT free wife within the hotel lobby and sure that there is no free WiFi in the room. I did asked for the free WiFi and too poor that they asking for S$25.00 daily. Too expensive for the wifi services and there should be a free wifi for this kind rate of hotel. Really disappointed for that.
Review 126:Locate near the city with hawker center, easy to get the foods. Only a shopping mall around with you may find boring. Surrounding environment is okay and easy to get the local foods and you may not like the foods may be prepaided and make by people from China. You may not excerpting very delicious and the foods is just okay.
Review 127:Very small print to say pool closed , but I did not see this . A letter in our room told us . Also executive Roos on 20 th floor were just like a standard double
Review 128:Location excellent . Staff very very polite and helpfull . Club lounge great as were staff in ther , nothing to much trouble .
Review 129:Interior in the room...need new carpet... maybe ? Room perfume/aroma not familiar to us.
Review 130:Location...close to food court, shopping area China town, MRT Station. Size of the room...large.
Review 131:-Reservations did a mistake by charging the credit card, when it was supposed to be paid when we got there.
Review 132:-Staff and service were exceptional -Location was close to and walking distance to both Chinatown and the Clarke Quay riverside shopping and restaurants -Got a complimentary breakfast buffet for an error in payment on our credit card -Staff were polite and always ready to help when asked
Review 133:no lights in the room, the only window was facing inside of the building, the hall, we couldn't even open the curtains. lady at the acceptance was very dry. Nothing good or impressive to remember about this hotel.
Review 134:nothing particularly
Review 135:I had to wait for almost 2 hours before I checked in, the room was not done before I arrived, but thats probably because it was a peak season.
Review 136:I had a great view of the Singapore Flyer from my window. Room service and housekeeping is worth a mention. A very friendly staff.....
Review 137:Checking in took a very long time. Even with all necessary documents, checking in took 30 mins. The buffet meal (breakfast/dinner) has very few varieties.
Review 138:It is walking distance to Chinatown and MRT. Has a nice scenery overlooking the MBS, Floating platform and skyline.
Review 139:- Club room was totally different with what they shown in their official website, really felt disappointed on it.
Review 140:- Location was good -staff are very friendly
Review 141:Dated and rooms I had opportunity to go in (and friends stayed in) all had a damp/musty smell about them. Horrendous price for Internet access. In this day and age, it is welcomed to give free wi-fi - given that there are so many places/cafés around this hotel all actively promote that they offer free wi-fi.
Review 142:Location was great. Staff were most helpful. Swimming pool was very welcoming.
Review 143:When I first arrive they put me in a tiny room with 2 single beds, but this was quickly corrected and I ended up in a suite
Review 144:Location close to shopping Room large and clean Staff very attentive Overall a pleasant stay
