Reviews for Trailside Inn
Review 1:N/A
Review 2:Very friendly and helpfull staff. Mountain Inn style, very warm and cozy. We had an upgrade in our room, wich was very appreciated because we were traveling with our two kids. Good breakfast. Quiet. Kids friendly. Nice views.
Review 3:Breakfast a bit limited.
Review 4:Over sized room with Italian design sink/faucet, very quiet location but seems to be popular with weddings so might be tricky, common room with fireplace, games etc.
Review 5:Room missing basic items: TV Coffee maker and coffee Bathtub Also, breakfast very mediocre. Nothing cooked. All store bought items.
Review 6:Staff was very helpful in planning day trips. Coffee very good.
Review 7:The down-side of this inn are the very basic rooms- with tiny and crowded shower and toilet, minimal furniture and overall small space - which we found pretty outragous for a price of over 200$ a night. Nevertheless- beds were super comfortable, the heating was just right, and the room and entire inn were very clean. All in all we had a very nice experience as two couples with 4 boys under 5, thanks to the staff, the location, the lovely shared space and the authentic and honest Vermont countryside atmosphere. However the basic rooms just don't justify the pricing....
Review 8:The staff were extremely nice, helpful and informative and offered great recommendations for hiking and activities in the area. They made an effort to keep us comfortable and answer to all our needs. The shared space- the lobby with the fireplace and dining area, is cozy and fun to hang out in, with a good collection of books and toys to keep the kids busy. There is a complementary tea and coffee spot and a fridge. The location is fantastic minutes away from Kent Pond, Gifford Woods SP, Killington ski resorts including the adventure park and numerous hiking opportunities. The building itself and it's surrounding are beautiful.
Review 9:It is absolutely not a 4-Star hotel, it is 2-Star hotel. I was shocked with the level of the hotel. I have to many 3-Star hotels and they were much better than this hotel. I feel, the information was misleading.
Review 10:The staff and the location are awesome.
Review 11:Nestled in Route 100...only 3 miles north of Route 4(might consider saying that in advertisements) Innkeeper made a special effort to engage and assist with kayaking, hiking, running, etc .
Review 12:- Very squeaky bed. - Cold water was very hot (We were only ones in whole building and were put at end unit. Took 5-10 minutes of running cold water for it to come out cold.) - No hot breakfast option. Too many carbs.
Review 13:The noise from the basement game room was not good. Luckily I hadearplugs with me so I didn't have to be the party pooper.
Review 14:If you are looking for a romantic getaway or amenities, this is not yourplace. If you are looking for a crashpad after your activities, this isyour place. This place isn't bad, it's just the basics. Andit's great value.
Review 15:Charged much more than what I booked the room for, saying that rate was only for half occupancy, even when I stated the amount of people I intended to bring. A fire alarm went off in the middle of the night and nobody did anything about it, staff could not be found or contacted at night. No phone or tv in the rooms. Bathroom was very small. Breakfast was limited.
Review 16:Room fit six comfortably. Proximity to mountains was nice. Staff was friendly.
Review 17:The rooms could use some additional insulation/sound proofing. We could hear the entire conversation of the people across the hall with both our door and their door closed and they were talking at a normal volume. Same with volume from the big room. It carried all the way down the hall through both hallways doors.
Review 18:Loved the main area/shared living space. Felt very welcoming and that the area encouraged people to socialize. Breakfast was also wonderful. Staff was very friendly.
Review 19:No bad comment to say, even for a couple that have travelled around the world.
Review 20:The romos were even better than we expected. The hotel is nicely decorated and their Joss and his wife are amazing hosts. We got recommendations for everything from the best ski trails to where to eat and go out.
Review 21:Forget the frills of a big resort , this place was perfect in ever way ,from the comfortable bed and clean room , to the beautiful drive down a mountain road with the trees covered in snow . This rustic retreat slightly off the beaten path was just the perfect choice if your looking for the real feel of Vermont! Being a city slicker , I had the pleasure tending to the huge wood burning fire place in the comfort of good people . The cost to stay nightly was beyond believable for such a place in peak months in Vermont skiing . The owners and caretakers with there two lovely children were so such salt of the earth family , it just made it that much better with all of their accommodations .
Review 22:Being in rather a "basic" room, although it was warm and comfortable.
Review 23:We loved the position of Trailside...very scenic. The owner was very friendly and helpful and joined us by the log fire in the evening to chat. We met their children too at breakfast next morning. There was a very friendly welcoming atmosphere.
Review 24:I wish there were more counter tops or furniture in the room for storage.
Review 25:- good, private location. Inn was tucked away in the trees but only a few minutes from restaurants, shops, etc. - Friendly innkeepers - Beautifully decorated common area was the perfect setting for the free continental breakfast - Comfortable accommodations
Review 26:Dangerous turn off to property esp at night. No amenities in room, no TV, radio, clock, or chairs. Old bathroom. Terrible breakfast. Poor value for price.
Review 27:Quiet,clean, friendly staff. Nice great room with fireplace.
Review 28:hosts were excellent.. I was treated like family member. Will stay again on next trip there
Review 29:Location,service, meals and especially the innkeepers.
Review 30:Familiar atmosphere, nice hall with fireplace. Very comfortable.
Review 31:Room smelled like wet carpet. Bathtub eas dangerous for elderly. Old motel that charges way too much.
Review 32:Location
Review 33:Very friendly host who gave us lots of info on things to do in the neighbourhood and particulars about scenic routes - very useful
Review 34:The toilet.
Review 35:The rustic setting.
Review 36:The place was AWESOME!
Review 37:Convenient, clean and affordable to our favorite Ski Mountain. The Inn Keepers Josh & Ann were great hosts.
Review 38:Joshua and Ann were great!

Review 40:Stayed the weekend of January 16. Wonderful, warm innkeepers. Made the stay very pleasant.. Great location, we will return next time in Killington!
Review 41:Owners are very friendly
Review 42:Very friendly owners Clean rooms Nice breakfast Good atmosphere in the common areas (firepit, couches, etc)
Review 43:Good location, golf course next door, clean staff friendly and helpful, great comfort ,quiet, modern country style
Review 44:Continental breakfast was pretty much gone by 9am.
Review 45:This is a wonderful place to stay if you are looking to relax and just be mellow. The couple who own the place are very warm and friendly and try their best to meet all your expectations. They take great care of the beautiful pine, fireplace keeps going and it seems all furnishings are organic and simple. All recently renovated. Perfect for families or for anyone who wants to get away from the mainstream environment. Very peaceful
Review 46:The friendliness of the staff, and the willingness to be available to help and answer questions. The rooms were great, clean, and unique. Our stay was excellent, and would recommend it to all my friends and family.
Review 47:The staff were not helpful. They did the least they possibly could to help - leaving us with no transport and no holding room for luggage on our final day - a big deal when you don't want to leave laptops and passports in cars while skiing.
Review 48:Very clean, modern and 'does what it says on the tin'
Review 49:Nothing. Loved it.
Review 50:Everything. We had a unique situation in that my husband and I and another couple we were traveling with were the ONLY ones at the inn. It was kind of strange to have the inn to ourselves, but such a treat. And huge kudos to the inn & staff because they easily could have shut the inn down and turned us away, but they kept the inn open just for us that night. The rooms were very clean and the beds comfortable. Betsy, the innkeeper, was VERY friendly and helpful and set out a nice continental breakfast for us in the morning. There was a beautiful golf course next door and the ski resort is a short drive away. Really enjoyed this place.
Review 51:It seemed a little pricey considering there weren't a lot of amenities but I would absolutely go back.
Review 52:My husband and I loved the cozy ambiance and friendly staff.
Review 53:layout of room, no phone or TV, poor lighting, weird floor boards with spaces between them, no refrigerator, tiny shower, tiny toilet area, noisy venting, weird sink, no shelving , only folding chair to sit on, icemaker in hall kept waking me up, minimal "continental" breakfast
Review 54:beautiful lounge,
Review 55:The staff was very friendly and accommodating in every possible way. The rooms were clean and looked new allowing for a very comfortable stay. The fire place was very pretty and cozy and the game area downstairs was fun for a large group.
Review 56:No TV in the room- a plus if you don't like TV. Only 2 pillows on the bed and only one chair in a double room. Signs about the beautiful pine floors and how not to damage them every 5 feet.
Review 57:NIce clean rooms and lounge to hang out in. Quiet. Good location.
Review 58:I was put in a room where. There was lot of noise. Could not sleep. The room had little ventilation. No service after 10pm
Review 59:The person at the tony desk was excellent and did everything to help us. Breakfast was ok.
Review 60:The owners are wonderful.
Review 61:internet was fair.
Review 62:the comfort level; very nice proprietors, price was good
Review 63:Don't understand in this day and age that no televisions are provided in the rooms nor coffee pots.
Review 64:Would have liked a TV in my room
Review 65:Overall experience
Review 66:No tv. And, the free breakfast was lacking variety.
Review 67:friendliness of staff and cleanliness of room.
Review 68:The staff were great and always helpful. Loved the location, close to everything we wanted to do. It was very cozy and comfortable.
Review 69:Nice clean rooms, good price, friendly staff, received early checkin.
Review 70:Not enough shelving to store clothing
Review 71:Fresh build feel, nice wooden floors, good bathroom/sink, comfortable bed
Review 72:clean rooms
Review 73:Quit, clean, and nice staff
