Reviews for Hotel Vitranc

Review 1:We booked the apartment as a last-minute solution for an overnight stay on our way home. What an excellent surprise! The apartment was in the historical building right across from the hotel. It was fully equipped and very nicely furnished - giving you the instant home-away-from-home feel. I imagine in winter it has the ideal location - close to the numerous ski slopes. Bonus: On our only night there, there was a firefighter village dance (Gasilska veselica) which anyone could attend. Live music, local food, friendly locals - we will definitely come back!

Review 2:Almost nothing. The parking is small but the staff let us park on the roadside, just beside the entrance to the hotel, so it was ok

Review 3:Perfect localisation in cosy suburb of Kranjska Gora, very quiet surrounding. We stayed in the apartment in the building localized next to the main hotel (20 meters) -it's really old, fine renovated, the atmopshere of the common area like in the mountain shelter 50 years ago. Good restaurant in the hotel. Good place for a couple of nights

Review 4:The distance of approx. 3 km to the nearest "centre" and shops at Kranjska Gora may be dissuasive for some travellers (there is just a single restaurant in the village, no shop or so). The location (and the region) is popular with motobikers which may be disturbing at times.

Review 5:Beautiful location in an old vilage, verys pretty, stylish and relatively quiet (unless motobikers arrive). Spacious stylish apartment.

Review 6:Could be better on the breakfast front: from the hall to the breakfast table, which could offer local jams, breads, etc.

Review 7:Very cosy rooms, kind staff, warm atmosphere, good price.

Review 8:Just a tip though is to be careful where you park because we got a ticket just in front of the hotel.

Review 9:The apartment was very comfortable and made me wish to stay in my cozy bed all day. Also, the interior is amazing and fits into the scenery very nicely! The location is great, you can walk to go to ski, Kranjska Gora is 2min by car or if you wish to walk the path is very nice and it would take you 25min by foot to reach Kranjska Gora. The staff was also lovely and we appreciated the sauna that was just steps away. Overall, me and my friends enjoyed our stay there and will gladly return!

Review 10:- Very bad accomodation. Old , nothing works. As said guest 404.Discrepancy between online presentation (comfortable room with a view of Vitranc) and accommodation (small bedroom under the roof, with thin walls with noise from the neighbors and steep stairs without light working, dangerous for children, despite the new light bulb). A microwave didn't work. After complaint, we got an answer that we reserved through booking and we have to pay what we reserved ! Wi-fi didn't work in the apartment and the heating sounded like an air plane.- BAD LOCATION. 1km to skiing area (black skiing line only for the best skiers), while in Kranjska gora everything is below the ski area

Review 11:Kitchen facilities were a bit limited - 2 rings, and a microwave (plus frisge and sink)

Review 12:Relaxed homely feel, good location, staff were helpful and polite, breakfast was good, extra communal seating area with TV outside our room in annex

Review 13:Wi-fi didn't work in room and the air condition sounded like an air plane. It was over 28 degrees in the apartement when we arrived. The food was not worth the money.

Review 14:We stayed in Hotel Vitranc twice on our route there and back from Katowice to Toscany. It was a perfect choice for a family with two kids 2 & 4 years old, beautifully situated in a surrounding of rocky mountains. There was an original concert of regional music on the main square taking place when we were heading Italy (it finished around 11 pm). I appreciate the staff and the manager who are very friendly and helpful.

Review 15:Internet connection very poor, small space for breakfast, expensive

Review 16:towels are really terrible crunchy and hard!!!

Review 17:kind staff warm greetings great position

Review 18:Very nice "alpine" style hotel as all village

Review 19:Everything - adorable chalet(ish) property near the mountains and close to Kranjska Gora.

Review 20:Wifi not working on the top floor. Water tap in the bathroom is not bolted to the wall... Bidet ... just HOT water. Smell of sewage...

Review 21:We had no hot water before midnight. WiFi was not working at all.

Review 22:Nothing

Review 23:Everything

Review 24:Quite apartment

Review 25:Everyday the same breakfast. Still the same things. Not a lot of vegetable. Quite noisy if you are in apartment.

Review 26:Very friendly and helpful staff

Review 27:So warm and comfortable interior

Review 28:Stuff and hotel:-))

Review 29:It was really fantastic time we had there. Everything is perfect. Owners and people who work there are kind and open.

Review 30:location, friendly staff, good food, and good value

Review 31:very friendly staff clean room

Review 32:small bathroom

Review 33:Clean room, Good food and a very friendly staff

Review 34:Nice old style hotel, good position, very kind staff, clean rooms, wifi free.

Review 35:Fabulous restaurant with great host. Loads of character.

Review 36:no Connection to wifi in the appartment

Review 37:nice appartment, perfect room for 4-5 kids

Review 38:Setting, friendly and helpful staff. Authentically decorated rooms.

Review 39:The charm of the hotel, good food and very welcoming staff

Review 40:smell of diesel or oil from heating system downstairs (probably just temporary problem)

Review 41:pitoresque appearance, nice location, very helpful and friendly staff, delicious cousine, comfortable beds, nice view from windows

Review 42:Very minor things - shower head was not postioned very effectiveley and the electric plug socket in the hall was too for from the mirror for ladies with hair straightners.

Review 43:Great charm and ambience. Good food, Friendly staff, Marco the restaurant manager was excellent. Proximity to the FIS worldcup. Really comfy bed.

Review 44:Loot of parents with little children, probably due acceptable prices.

Review 45:Good location, excellent breakfast, free WiFi, good rooms, great value for money.

Review 46:We had an appartement in the attic. There was low ceiling in the rooms and bathroom. Wi fi not working all the time.

Review 47:Very friendly staff. Cosy atmosphere, nice decoration in whole hotel. Very warm in the room. Good breakfast, good food in the restaurant too.

Review 48:It was bit dark and lights in hallway couldn't be switched on after 23h.

Review 49:Ambient is great! Rooms are spaceus and nice. Great for stay for few nights.

Review 50:We were the only people in the hotel at the time so we had the full attention of the staff. Food in restaurant was excellent and we would recommend this hotel for a stay in the area.

Review 51:shower/bathroom breakfast was a bit of a low down when compared to the food of the restaurant

Review 52:atmosphere; restaurant and friendliness of staff; charm overall of the place

Review 53:The stairs are very unaccesible. In the bathroom there where not shampoo or Soap. There where not Sheets or blankets for the third Person. very bad accomodation

Review 54:Lovely location. Great staff. There was a problem with my reservation, but it was sorted out by Elio, who was great - taking the time & making the effort despite being busy.

Review 55:Unfortunately our apartment has not been in main hotel building, but in neighbouring rustic building on the second floor, partly under the roof. Therefore the room upstair was overheated that had complicated (together with far too thick pillow) a sleeping during the first night of our stay. Even to get all our luggage to second floor (and back to the car) have taken a while and required a certain effort.

Review 56:Hotel Vitranc is stylish rustic hotel with great location - at the centre of tranquil settlement Podkoren (part of Kranjska Gora). One-bedroom apartment was spacious and clean. We have appreciated the environment was calm. Staff of the hotel was friendly and helpful, the sitting on the terrace in the front of the hotel absolutely pleasurable. The foods (a la carte) served for dinner as well as buffet menu for breakfast (included in price) were tasty. Price per apartment was reasonable even a bit higher due to high summer season.

Review 57:The hotel is set in a very scenic village surrounded by mountains. The staff were helpful, friendly and efficient. The hotel had a most charming appeal. The on site restaurant served delicious food at a reasonable price.

Review 58:little alternatives for dinner, hotel offered only three basic menus, one was already sold-off. As we didn´t see any other restaurant around we tried it and it was finally o.k. ...

Review 59:warm welcome at reception

Review 60:Flies everywhere. So many flies we wondered why as they were not prevalent elsewhere in the village. In morning found one in my coffee ugh! Breakfast not good. Room very small, although it says seating area ( and we paid extra for this ) if you sat on the chair the other person could not walk through. We ate a meal at the hotel and after ordering a Slovenian dish we were told every one of those on the menu were not available!

Review 61:position and friendly staff

Review 62:Nice little hotel really close to the mountains. Very good breakfast included in the price. We also had dinner at the hotel and it was quite good too.

Review 63:The tiny town of Podkoren is a little small for things like supermarkets, so we had to travel back to Kranjska Gora for supplies. No big deal but a little negative.

Review 64:The apartments are very much in the ski-lodge style, with a communal lounge area we didn't expect. The staff were lovely, even to the extent of heating fresh croissants for us after we arrived at the tail end of breakfast. Apartment was clean and comfy with a small kitchenette. Very impressive mountain views from the town, and even out the woindows if you look the right way.

Review 65:This was our second stay and was just as good as the first. Not much in the village but the hotel food was very good, and the staff helpful. Arrived by motorcycle and parked in front of the hotel in the quiet village square.

Review 66:We got the room No. 8, and during the night somthing was very noisy from the neighbor. :(

Review 67:We spent a weekend there, and it was beutifull. The room was nice and comfortable. The location and the view of the mountains are amazing. Great and big portion of local food.

Review 68:Our beds were not properly made up (no bottom sheet), the toilet smelled quite bad and the room was far too hot. We found the hotel to be well over-priced.

Review 69:We liked the atmosphere of the place.

Review 70:In contrast to the hotel itself (which almost feels like a 4-star hotel)the service left something to be desired, particularly as regards thereception (more attention/friendliness) and breakfast (morevariety). The mattress could be more comfortable; the bed was screechingand waking me up at night. Apart from that, I have no other complaints.

Review 71:The hotel is very well situated, in a small village 2km outside thehustle and bustle of Kranjska Gora, with breathtaking views of themountains. It is very nicely decorated and everything feels new andclean. I would recommend it for a romantic getaway and/or as anexcellent base for hiking/skiing etc.

Review 72:The hotel staff was very friendly. We really liked the location of the hotel. There were more beautiful waterfalls in the nearby mountains and we could make splendid trips there.

Review 73:could do with wi fi access in the annex as we had to go to the main hotel across the road to use the internet etc.

Review 74:beautiful and tranquil view. Location in Podkoren far superior than to be with the hordes in nearby Kranjska Gora although all services are there 3km away - fantastic if you have a car as we did. (No services or shops in Podkoren. Nice common lounge areas in the annex apartments where we stayed.

Review 75:Generally cold staff, not interested in any form of small talk, very buisness like , felt more like a conference centre than a small rural hotel. Could do much better on this front. Would have been far more inclined to eat evening meals here if this had been different. The owners in particular seemed exceptionaly disinterested in creati ng a warm atmosphere. This 'culture' probably works its way down to the rest of the staff. Recomended as a good base away from the town , just dont expect a warm welcome!

Review 76:General location very good for trips to Austria and Italy and excursions into the Julian Alps. Situated in a quiet village with little noise apart from grass cutting at 8am and tractors running up and down without exhaust silencers early in the morning. Nice decor and good meals from the restaurant. The breakfast however was very limited to cold meats and cheese and bread which after a fe days gets very tiresome. Terrible coffee from nescafe machine . Nice bread though.

Review 77:Charming little place. Breathtaking views of the mountains. Marvelousdesign, very cosy. Great restautant. Wonderful location for a stopoveror a few days of exploring, hiking, rafting. Must be even betterexperience in teh winder (skiing).

Review 78:My room was above the bar terrace and was noisy till quite late. Being exactly in the centre, the traffic past the hotel was also quite noisy early in the morning, despite being a little village.

Review 79:In a very pretty mountain location. The staff were lovely, very friendly. Food was good

Review 80:No additional facilities except little sauna. Not suitable for thebigger group.

Review 81:It is nice romantic small hotel. Rooms are small but very tastydecorated, pleasant and clean. They have also a nice apartmans for family.Buffet breakfast is very good . There is a small restaurant with a goodfood and acceptable prices. For a short stay very good hotel.

Review 102:pleasant personel, flexibility, clean rooms

Review 103:Poor breakfast.

Review 104:even so equipped for six persons, better for four
