Reviews for Erva Doce Guest House
Review 1:the wash room has a little peculiar smell when we open the exhaust fan. But it goes away after a while
Review 2:It s really a good and a cute place. The host is very nice and can cook very well.
Review 3:The staff was very friendly and helpful unfortunately nobody was there during the night. Breakfast was only served from 8.30 a.m. onwards and so a bit late if you have an early meeting to get to.
Review 4:The location was really good and the view from my window just beautiful.
Review 5:Lovely little guest house with great harbour view, close to the centre of this historical town. Being located between an excellent restaurant on one side and a little bar on the other, you do not need to go very far to spend the evening. The room under the rooftop was quiet, comfortable and with a good bathroom. Some little details would need fixing though. The Wifi it's mostly good. Staff was helpful and very friendly. Breakfast was excellent. All in all a good choice walking the Caminho Português.
Review 6:Nothing bad to say
Review 7:Everything! Stunning balcony view, great location near the center. Staffwas great, and room incredible. Best place we stayed in Portugal.
Review 8:Breakfast was included in price but as I was leaving in morning before breakfast time receptionist promised to leave breakfast in room. Unfortunately that wasn't so, I had to leave without having a breakfast.
Review 9:Excellent location, rooms. Very clean and comfortable.
Review 10:In 3 bedded rooms the beds seem short
Review 11:Right opposite the beautiful harbour, in great position. As we are walked Ng the Camino and wishad to leave early, Anna was very helpful proving breakfast on trays the night b fore.
Review 12:Was a bit noisy at night for me - on the harbour front and had a disturbed nights sleep due to passers by shouting and being loud until 3-4 am. However, it was a Friday night so I understand people would be out enjoying themselves. I would use earplugs next time.
Review 13:The guest house is in a lovely location, the rooms decorated in a quirky seaside style. Staff were very friendly and informative. Good value for money as breakfast wast included. Would definitely recommend to others.
Review 14:Not used to a hard bed, but plenty of pillows
Review 15:We stayed in the attic room. Very nice, lovely shower. I will stay again. Just 5 minutes from Monte Estoril station. 6 minutes to a beautiful beach
Review 16:Just that the Internet took too long to connect but it was fine afterwards
Review 17:Everything was great! Good location, confortable beds, no bad reviews at all
Review 18:There is some traffic noise from traffic on the cobbled road alongside and with a small bar & restaurant either side, there is some street noise late into the night. However, the double glazing and inner shutters work well & we slept fine & were undisturbed. In hot months it could get stuffy when everything is closed up overnight, but the owners provided a fan when we asked and that helped a lot.
Review 19:Great position overlooking the river Ave and the marina. Visitor centre with fishing boat and history 25m away. Good breakfast with fresh orange juice, local pastries & bread, cheese ham & jams, coffee/tea. When we found our closed room stuffy, they bought us a fan. Terrific value for money. We also took tea and cake in the tea rooms below - the home-made orange cake best we have had. Vila do Conde is a historic and interesting town - well worth walking up to the imposing convent and alongside the 4km aqueduct. Great beaches are just 2-3 kms away and a walk alongside the rive Ave to the river mouth is lovely. Do visit the 11thC chapel here and go in to see the exquisite carvings and panels. We hired bikes for an easy bike ride with cycle paths to the beaches.
Review 20:Nothing
Review 21:A lovely little Guest House in a great location. A little noisy at night but the double glazing worked quite well. Breakfast was good. Would stay here again.

Review 24:It's a beautiful and well-maintained house with all comforts one might expect. Breakfast was nice. The staff was very helpful too.
Review 25:Outstanding location, overlooking the Rio Ave and minutes walk from everywhere in this lovely and atmospheric town. Few facilities, but a clean comfortable room and friendly service, and an outstanding price.
Review 26:Toilet wouldn't flush properly.
Review 27:Lovely attic room (with full height ceiling) & dormer windows which overlooked the marina. When there was a problem with the lock on the door, I was immediately offered another room. Also, as I couldn't wait for breakfast I was offered a discount on room rate. Charming rooms, beautifully decorated. Would highly recommend staying at Erva Doce.
Review 28:Original price included breakfast but gave me deduction as restaurant not open early enough.
Review 29:Stayed here while walking the Portuguese Camino. Four bed dorm with en-suite. Very clean and comfortable. Vila de Conde is a nice town and Erva Doce well located.

Review 31:Excellent location by the river. Arrival & booking in was very efficient, friendly & helpful. Breakfast provided for early departure. Very comfotable + thoughtful & nice touches all round. Highly recommended!
Review 32:Room, Breakfast, Location - all great!! Wonderful helpful staff, very very clean place and well maintained! Some other pilgrims wanted to leave before the opening time of the cafe and received a full prepared breakfast incl. Juices and coffee/tea on the room, so that they could have breakfast before their departure early in the morning!
Review 33:I was expecting a dorm bed here, and it was, of sorts. The third bed in the room wasn't occupied so we had a twin room with en suite. Nice room, great food. Would definitely stay again.
Review 34:The hotel is close to the harbour with a nice view. You can walk to the beach and you can walk to the city-center, too. The room was small but clean. After a very good night (the beds were comfortable) we had breakfast (with homemade rolls, butter, cheese, ham, homemade marmelade and coffe or hot choclate) in the tiny little cafe. We can absolutely recommend this place.
Review 35:This cozy and charming new hote (or guest house)l is located in front of Vila do Conde marina. Our room had a balcony with sea view, what was a "plus". Bathroom is quite big and everything was spotless clean! The owner is very friendly and helpful, wifi worked good. There are good restaurants nearby.
