Review 1：The only thing I didn't like was the floor tiles in the bathroom weren't heated. Not a big deal, but they were FREEZING(even though it's summer). That's me being fussy though.

Review 2：Fantastic staff. Very clean rooms. Serviced quickly and to a the best standard. Gave more wifi when I asked also.

Review 4：It was very small and very basic with few amenities. Too small for 3 people in one room. Seems like an older property without much updating. Room was clean , but recreation room was not clean.

Review 5：On the Saturday when we arrived, we were notified of a fire drill that was to happen on Sunday at 11:30. 11:30am came and went, we heard a noise that sounded like a horn. My husband and I waited a couple of minutes and then headed over to the reception area where we were told was the assembly point. No-one was outside, no one came to our room to "evacuate" us. My sister-in-law was 2 rooms over and was told by a house keeper that someone would be with her and her partner. No-one came. This is very disappointing. What if there was a real fire?? No fire wardens were about!!

Review 6：Our motel room was definitely worth what we paid. Even though it was for one night, we had a really good stay.

Review 7：We booked this hotel BECAUSE it had a sauna. In our previous hotel, we went to use the sauna and it was off. It took too long to heat up before the facilities closed. SO WE DELIBERATELY ASKED THE QUESTION "Is the sauna on and working?" at the front desk. They said yes, but the receptionist was a trainee and did not know it had to be turned on. This was one of 4 out of 5 saunas we came across in new zealand that had to be "turned" on. Every one of them was set at too low a temperature as well. It is a shame that this review is so low, because it isn't that bad a hotel, but we really feel short changed by the event. Someone needs to tell NZ hotels that turning off the sauna is OK provided you turn them on again if the customer wants them (Ask when they check in).

Immediately phoned us when they discovered stuff we had left behind and followed up. Will post belongings back to us. Room great with plenty of space. Separate toilet a great touch.

Review 23：I loved how spacious my room was and that I had multiple ways to get there. Parking right outside was a bonus. The room layout was impressive as was the two TVs in the room great for watching TV in bed!! Spa bath was a hit and I didn't want to leave!

Review 24：Would like curtains over the bathroom windows as even tho its opaque...I know you can still 'see' and our bathroom window was directly where another room had an outdoor table and chairs and sat out smoking so put a towel in the window!

Review 25：I was, clean, tidy and very comfortable; i.e. the beds and pillows were comfy the heater warmed up the room quickly as it was a cold weekend. We would recommend this motel to our friends.

Restaurant and bar serve excellent meals at reasonable prices and provide excellent service. Staying there again tomorrow night.

Review 31：The table/desks in the rooms (motel units) were not big enough to use for work. Also wifi didnt work very well/was unstable, had to use own phone. Re the restaurant while the evening meal could be catered for my needs of a Paleo Diet - Gluten/Dairy/Free Range/Organic/No Additives the breakfast options were not at all good, as there was no guarantee on the eggs being Free Range, as even if nothing else could be eaten i could have eaten the eggs and bacon on GF bread.

Decor was soulless, the kitchen just adequate, supplied with a tag (please make up my room) to put over the door handle outside but no door handle to attach it to, Noisy venting system in toilet and bathroom, broken hook on the back of the bathroom door, ugly fire extinguisher and electrical "power box", ugly exterior (needs tidying up). No newspaper delivery in the morning.

Loved the fact that there were all the bells and whistles - freebies like newspaper, shampoo, shower caps, free pens and paper - even tho I didn't use any of them! Was impressed that they restocked the complimentary tea and coffee caddy - often if you stay for more than a day they don't replace anything that you have used. Little things mean a lot.

Review 82：Large, clean comfortable room. The unit where we stayed is part of the original motel and is consequently somewhat dated. However, the price is very reasonable and we have no complaints. Free wi-fi up to 500 MB and an additional 500 MB was provided free when we asked for it.

Review 94：The room was very comfortable and we had a fantastic sleep. Loved the decor and best of all the room and bathroom was spotlessly clean. Also, when I booked the room via this website, our special requirements was an earlier check in, as we were arriving from out of town for an afternoon wedding. I found the Ascot very flexible with this and would recommend a stay.

Review 95：While in the main bar I asked for two drinks which were both the last dregs in the bottle.(whisky and a barardi) I did not get full double even though I questioned the quantity.(for both) I went to another staff member who checked the drink and found it very short. The other drink could not be checked as had a mix put in it. Staff member did not apologise. he had bad attitude.I told management and they have not replied either. Poor public relations.

Review 124：When booking multiple rooms 8 weeks in advance I would expect that the rooms would be adjacent. It is inconvenient when guests travelling together in one vehicle are separated by some distance when the room reservations were made through one booking.
