Review 1：that I couldn't stay longer

Review 2：I had a great time with Ying & Peter, the very friendly and helpful owners of this lovely resort and with their staff Thing, always smiling and in a good temper. I loved the relaxed atmosphere, the tasty full english breakfast and the excellent dishes at dinner (Ying is a fantastic chef). The bungalows are spacious, the beds VERY comfy, wifi is free and fast enough, there is private parking for my motorbike, a pool and a lounge area, beautiful views over rice paddies to the close-by mountains and fabulous sunsets, accompanied by cold beer and entertaining chit-chat with Peter and other guests ... who needs satellite-tv in a place like that ?? I will definitely come back asap

Review 4：Excellent customer service, all inclusive feel - they had everything you needed for your visit, absolutely beautiful scenery and accommodations. Very clean and welcoming. Made our Christmas away from home memorable and special. We will certainly be back again. Thank you!!!

Review 6：The food and the tranquillity, and bicycling in nice scenery! The staff was very nice and helpful. Watching the rice farmers was interesting. The verandah!!

Review 7：Not much. Not for everyone as is a ways out of town and no TV but was great for us as needed a few down days. Peter and his wife were super friendly and helpful. Peter took my husband to an alternate bank machine when we had an issue and let us run a tab in the meantime. Would love to go back.

Review 10：Nice and quite, really a 'country retreat'! Very helpfull owners, who do everything to make your stay pleasant. The view and surrounding of the resort is absolutely great! You can use a bike to explore the small villages and quit roads. And de homes are clean and comfortable. Nearby (at Mea Sa) there are plenty of attractions to spent your time.

Review 11：Loved the location, away from the city. Although it was away from the city it was extremely close to attractions such as tiger kingdom, Siam insect museum, and so on. They had motor bikes for rental so you can travel around the area without spending much on transportation. The owners were very hospitable as well and had great knowledge of the area. There was absolutely no language barrier, as one the owner spoke English, making everything much easier.

Review 12：I absolutely loved my stay with Pete and Ying at the Country Retreat. This hidden gem is tucked away in the country side and is a beautiful little spot for some r & r or a jumping off point for some day trips around the outskirts of Chiang Mai. I would have loved to stay longer if I hadn't prebooked my travel elsewhere, but I'm already trying to make plans to go back. Delicious food, beautiful property, and hospitable owners - book and see for yourself!

Review 13：Pete&Yin are lovely couple with two lovely dog and they try their best to create relaxing environment, tasteful food and fun experience for visitors. It is a perfect place to get away from city life and get some time for your own. We loved the stories they shared, the food they made, the massage they recommended. We are already expecting our next visit there.

Review 15：This place it's owners, staff and the people of Huay Sai village are very special. So special in fact that I wish we could keep it a secret but alas no not possible so I guess I'll have to let you all know that YES absolutely YES please go and stay with Pete and Ying,experience the real Thailand and it's people, experience what we all try to get out of an establishment but somehow leave feeling slightly let down. Stay here and you won't be!!! Just leave any pretentious attitudes at the gate, relax, keep it real and let yourself go. If you experience what we did it will be Nirvana. You can even bring the kids and they will actually think your cool.

Review 18：Perfect location to discover real northern thailand landscape and lifestyle. Owners do their best to make feel better than at home. Excellent hotel restaurant with both thai and continental dishes. Comfortable bed and clean bungalow with beautiful views. Superbe swimming pool.

Review 22：A beautiful, open and peaceful place in the middle of a rice paddy. Comfortable and clean rooms with high quality furniture made from bamboo and wood by the owners' own hands. Wonderful surroundings for biking with kids.

Review 24：The lovely couple who owns this Resort, Pete and Yin, really do their best to make it a special and perfect trip to the countryside of Thailand. You can Rent motorbikes for just 200 Baht per day so you can drive through the small villages and to the waterfalls arround. Yin is one of the best chefs we met so far, her dishes are really unbelievable. The Pool is Crystal clear and had the perfect temprature and size. Maybe for real swimming it is a little to small. The bungalows have Little balkonies and are all furnished unique. The view you get from your Windows and from the bar is unbelievable. Just Rice fields and nature. If you're looking for a Place to relax, eat good food, have a lot of fun and enjoy the countryside this is the Perfect Place for you!

Review 26：Great stay in Country Retreat, we planned to stay 2 days and stayed 6 days! The owners really make you feel at home and help you every day to plan your excursions. Pete calls around, drives you around, prints out maps, ... Our best resort in Thailand, I can recommend this place to everyone. Great swimmingpool, nice bar, good food, excellent!

Review 28：The owners are the most incredible host I have ever met, they do everything they can to make your stay unforgettable and we felt like home! The food is delicious, the room so tastefully decorated, it's very clean and the area is beautiful. We booked for 1 night, but cancelled the following hotel to stay another night. The pool is beautiful. My husband and I travel a lot, and I must say, it's the first time that we have nothing negative to say about an hotel. We can not wait to come back, but longer this time :)

Review 29：Beautiful and quiet place surrounded by rice fields. The owner Ing is a great chef. Bungalows big, cosy and very clean. Gorgeous swimming pool. In the retreat you can rent a bike and go around to see some great country views. At first we reserved for three nights and stayed for one more. Great place, we will definitely come back and recommend our friends.

Review 30：The soon as we booked a few nights on Country Retreat we received an enthousiastic and full service welcome email by the owners (Pete & Ing Moser) asking if we would prefer a pickup at the airport and suggesting to call them on arrival while most of the taxidrivers can't find the resort yet. Country Retreat is wonderfully situated outside Chiang Mai. The scenery is peaceful and quiet. The positioning of the bungalows will give you the feeling like if they are placed in the middel of a large rice field. From the resort you can see a beautiful temple nearby. Hiking in the vicinity is very nice and you can rent a bike (scooter) to explore the area (must do!). Pete and Ing will give you very good advise on what to visit, whether it is the Elephant Reservation (must see!!), The Tiger Kingdom, the Thai market, a spa, bike tour or a hiking trail. They were very helpful in advising us how you can get everywhere and even brought us to the start of our hiking. The resort is new and evering is in its place and very clean. Ing is a wonderful good cook and every evening we were enjoying her Chef's choice for dinner. The Thai cooking lessons she provides are lovely. The enthousiasm, high quality service level and warm hospitality by Pete & Ing to make your stay as comfortable and enjoyable as can be is excellent! We so much enjoyed our stay and their hospitality that we booked a few extra nights. Country Retreat is truly excellent to relax and we recommend it fully!

Review 32：The local village atmosphere, and the location set in Paddy Fields, lots of nature to see & hear. I found the choice of Thai & Burmese dishes excellent. Great swimming pool.

Review 33：The quiet of the country was great. Our hosts Pete and Ing are very kind and were willing to go the extra mile to help us. (Hair dryer and lift from the bus station) I would now count them as friends. Ing makes an awesome massaman curry. If your looking for peace near Chaingmai this is where you'll find it.

Review 34：I just stayed the one night, but wished I had planned for more. This resort is brand new and just the most relaxing location away from the bustle of the city I had just left behind. The sounds of running water, a beautiful sunset and the nicest of hosts (Pete and Ing). My bungalow was clean and fresh, I enjoyed a night time and morning swim, and the Thai food was delicious. The combination of a super friendly English and Thai couple running the resort was perfect, and I only wished I was there longer to experience one of Ing's Thai cooking lessons.
