Review 4：All our requests with the booking were in place when we arrived at the hotel. The food very good and the restaurant is open around the clock. The room was very nice with but not much of a view on the sea. Very close to the Beachfront Skate Park.

Review 9：Rather give service personal no tip, otherwise they complain about the amount. Service is also very bad. They offer laundry service but in the end you have to bring it to the external laundry yourself. Wouldn't stay there again!

Review 10：We had to wait in order to check in as our room was not ready. Reception was not very helpful and too business like. Electronic safe did not work. Movie shown in the hall on ground floor was so loud it could be heard in our room. We did not feel looked after.

Review 12：The hotel was very comfortable. The menu was excellent with reasonable prices. It's location is excellent, a stone's throw from the North beach and restaurants.

Review 13：We only stayed for one night at the Durban Pavilion as we were furthering our journey the following day.The location and size of the room were both great but unfortunately our room was on the second floor which was just above street level making it EXTREMELY noisy and practicality impossible to get uninterrupted sleep that night. I would therefore strongly advise to request a room as far away from the front of the hotel/away from the street noise.

Review 14：VERY noisy, all through the night! Didn't eat there either as there was a huge cockroach downstairs. We stayed at three cities waterfront hotel and our stay there was 10x better and it was cheaper!

Review 45：after a long trip we at the beach waiting for 2 o`clock to go check in at the hotel, the lady working at the hotel called to confirm our booking asked what time we going to arrive, I told her 2pm she bluntly responded in saying that,that's booking.com`s rules their hotel rules are that checkin is at 15:30. Its an inconvenience I understand but be a bit polite about it and tell me its a mistake made by the booking company.

Review 46：the ocean view room we got, the cleanliness and the responds I got when I told the staff that one of the beds legs was missing it was repaired in no time thank you for that. the breakfast was devine.

Review 55：I didn't like the idea of the room stinking of cigarettes on my arrival at night. The fact that they ashed the cigarette in the tea/coffee box. Upon air freshener request it was sprayed on the floor. The door couldn't double lock from the inside. A restless sleep.

My problem is why did they not communicate that to us earlier rather than travelling that far and finding when we get there.

Review 87：On Monday night there was a fight between a male and a female (which sounded like a prostitute) we phoned the reception about the noise and they said they will attend to, how ever it took them 15min to make them go and whilst down stairs we could still hear the woman screaming. This was not nice at all as the noise woke us up.

Review 93：Receiption staff mostly unmotivated. For one afternoon no water/electricity in room. No active information from management/receiption. Just wait and see, whether the costumer notices. I told at receiption that I will wait at hotel bar and asked to inform me, when water/electricity are available again (no sense sitting in a dark room for an unclear time). No info, no communication whatsoever. General impression of 5 day stay was that receiption in part was neither friendly nor very interested in their guests. Maybe it was just me.

Review 102：will never recommend this hotel. will never go there again. client is literally chased to pay on the spot for any single consumption. this is abnormal for a so called reputable hotel. hotel has no generator. there are regular power failures and you are left with no power, no tv, no light and no wifi. wifi is sporadic and you have to battle for connection. lift is not working and i had to climb up the stares. management;s office is in the restaurant and there is an impression of being constantly watched. did not at all felt at ease. this hotel should be banished from on line bookings

Review 104：Noise of other guests taking over the hotel. Screamimg and shouting early morning till late night. Taking over the whole restaurant and lobby making it unaccessible for any other guests and staff not taking control of it. . No lights in our bathroom and not fixed even after I requested it.

Review 106：there is no mechanism in place to absorb noise outside the room and the tiles make the echoes so much worse. There was an ANC conference on and the noise and disturbance was very bad, no one in the hotel enforced any discouragement for the to consider other guests especially after midnight and before 7am. We had a double bed to share with our 18 month old, because housekeeping was closed for us to get a camp cot, not that there was much place to put it. We called the restaurant before 7 to find out if they were open and we were told there's no space fir us and to cone after an hour. When we got there, the place was in a state, dirty floors, chipped cups, finally we got placed at a table but no cutlery, serviettes, nothing until after we helped ourselves to a serving of food. The yoghurt bowls were empty, there was sausage, eggs and bread which couldn't be toasted for us and then cereals. That was a R95 a head breakfast. I'd get better value and a better experience on the beachfront for that same amount, which we ended up doing afterwards.

Didnt have a clue how to fix non working aircon. told us to stand under the aircon for cool air - seriously!!?? Manager was nice enough to upgrade our rooms to slightly bigger.

Review 137：My room had a light problem it wad blinking before it lights on, I reported it but the guy didnt fix it since it seemed ok at the time.i asked him to check the following morning he didnt, when I came back late it was doing the same thing. The bathroom also had a funny smell please do check the problem there.
