Reviews for Luxury Apartments Bona - Bolfenk
Review 1:The guy working at the ski rental service (about 50-60 years old) completely ripped us of. We wanted to rent skis for 4 days, for half a day each, which would total the price of 2 full days as we were told (cca 60 euros). The guy was nice at the beginning saying that we will do that and that we will pay at the end. When we came to return the skis, he made us pay for full 5 days which totalled 160 euros and he did not remember what we talked about when we rented.. Horrible. I suggest you pay for rental at the beginning because there's a high chance you will be ripped off if you pay at the end because he can put whatever price he wants. You can also use the rental on Areh, you might have better experience. Also, the signs that lead to Hocko Pohorje are a mess. We followed the signs for Pohorje and ended up driving for 3 hours through Maribor and almost getting stuck in the woods. You have to follow the signs for Hoce and go up the mountain via the main road. Furthermore, whatever you need for your stay, such as food and supply (toilet paper, dishwasher tablets), you have to bring yourself because there is one little shop on the mountain that is not well equipped and sometimes does not even work. The nearest shop is in Hoce, which is 18 kilometres away from the apartment. You cannot smoke in the apartment or on the window because the smoke alarm is pretty sensitive and if you get caught smoking you pay a fine of 50 euros, and if the alarm goes off its 100 euros. Make sure to check the weather before you go because there is a chance that there won't be any snow and you will have to ski on fake snow. Make sure to ask for discounts if the weather sucks and you are buying ski passes or renting equipment anyways.
Review 2:The location is absolutely wonderful. It's very high up the mountain so the air is very clear. There is a "chakra cleansing" woods right above the apartment where you can walk and rebalance. There is an AMAZING restaurant that is one gondola ride away, called La Cantina. They have delicious food, all different kinds of pizzas, pastas and deserts, homemade ice cream, and is not that expensive. Try the Krasno Rdece red wine- delicious. Wellness programe at the hotel Bolfenk is quite nice, you can use the pool and jacuzzis for 10 euros per person from 4:30 p.m till 9 p.m. The water in the pool is kind of chilly but the jacuzzis are warm. I would suggest you to download the wellness price books from Bolfenk and Bellevue hotels. We rented the studio apartment which is below the ground floor, and we did not know that, or I did not read that it will be below ground floor, but the apartment was very nice nonetheless, just wish for a better view. If you are a student, or look like one, make sure to mention that when buying ski passes and gondola tickets because you get discount. Areh is amazing for skiing (it's 15 mins by driving up the mountain), and so much better than the paths by the apartment. Also, on Areh, you do not need a ski pass for the main ski path because there are 2 guys down there working at the anchor which brings you up again and they do not check for ski passes. It's good because you can save 28 euros that way, which is the price for 2 student ski passes for half a day. You can also go on the far left ski path but will have to turn right at the first available crossing in order to come to the anchor and not the plate thing which automatically checks for ski passes.
Review 3:Under sofa there isn't clear floor. There are about ten different things.
Review 4:The apartment is large, comfortable and only 100 m from ski-lift. In building there is a lift, it's very good for family with 3 children.
Review 5:On arrival, we followed GPS and finished stacked in Hocko pohorje village. Be careful and do not go on roads where bus can not go. More direction tables are required. Place doesn't offer dinner restaurants, but considering that Maribor is very close, it is not big problem. You will have to pay for fire place wood.
Review 6:Very nice and new apartments with fire place, close to slopes and main gondola top exit, calm surroundings and very nice view. 40 min with car from Maribor center, 15 min drive to Areh ski slops. Hotel with pool 50m from apartments (although nice looking pool, it is relatively small).
Review 7:Wifi was very poor, not the signal strength, but the equipment (not capable of serving user pool of usual size), so it was next to unusable
Review 8:The apartment has mint furniture and kitchenware, spotless bathroom, the balcony had a nice view on the mountaint. There is a separate common room on the ground floor for skiing equipment with lockers, and hollow skiboot hangers (air flows from it, so it drys the boot)
Review 9:Wifi was so bed, the routers were not encripted, and everybody used them. At rush hours in the evening was useless. The owner should think about to subscribe better bandwidth.
Review 10:2 separate bathrooms and another toilet was a good idea. Kitchen was well equipped, everything was in the apartment even an ironing board.
Review 11:The restaurants nearby close early each evening but it's fun to catch the gondola down to Maribor to eat at La Cantina, an Italian restaurant just round the corner from the ticket office.
Review 12:Very warm, comfortable, well-appointed apartment a short walk from the pistes.
Review 13:We were there for the weekend with two kids 15 years and 2 years old. Apartment is very clean and cosy and furniture is completely new. Wi-fi was also great. Great location with everything in walking distance. Ski slopes 100 meters, swimming pool 50 meters, shop 100 meters. Great place to visit during all seasons.
Review 14:Internet only on cable, but if you bring your own WiFi access point, it works. GPS location on booking.com is wrong!!! Than you can stuck in very bad unpaved mountain roads!
Review 15:Location, everything :)
Review 16:Very friendly stuff, apartment right on the slopes!
Review 17:It was very hard to find location.
Review 18:Good place but nothing to do after 19h and not enough restaurants.
Review 19:Wifi reception was often poor.
Review 20:Cleanliness of the apartment was outstanding
Review 21:Excellent facilities with very helpful staff. Very good value for money. Free WiFi. Location is less than 50 m from the ski slope.
Review 22:-only 1 dishwasher cap for 3days -the sleeping sofa was unconfortable -not so much Street indication to go there (not depending on the bolfenk)
Review 23:spa swimming pool and everything for a good staying friendly people
Review 24:It would be good to organize entertainment for children in the evening, not just during the school holidays. Pohorje definitely needs another indoor pool.
Review 25:Beautiful apartment, spacious rooms, well heated, very clean.
Review 26:We loved our stay at Apartments Bona-Bolfenk. The balcony looked over the gorgeous forest which at the time was ablaze with Autumn colours. The apartment was exceptionally clean and brand new. The kitchen was extremely well equipped, the beds very comfortable, satellite tv was a blessing after all our travels in other countries this year. The host was very friendly, approachable and accommodating. Walk down the mountain and catch the gondola back up - stunning.
Review 27:Great appartment
Review 28:Far from the Maribor
Review 29:nature
Review 30:Nature, mountains, far from town (need car or cable car)
Review 31:Long drive to Maribor.
Review 32:Also great rooms and kitchen. We will be back.
