Reviews for Hotel Alpsu

Review 1:Room was expensive but that is a nationwide thing because of the Swiss Franc!

Review 2:Very nice, warm, comfortable rooms. Very clean and the hotel is nicely furnished with traditional Swiss furniture. Staff very friendly and helpful. Good continental breakfast included in our rate and wi-fi worked in our 2nd floor room. Car parking across from the hotel.

Review 3:Nothing not to like!

Review 4:Lovely laid back hotel with great staff. Encouraged me to speak German. Large room with perfectly adequate bathroom. Restaurant was buzzing even on a Monday night and food was very good. Would stay there again if in the region. Parking conveniently opposite the hotel (off street but not locked but this is Switzerland so not an issue).

Review 5:Had to leave too early

Review 6:- Friendliness of staff - Location to train, town highlights - Dinner was amazing -capuns along with a mushroom and greens salad - great pressure hot water shower - comfortable bed - family owned and operated

Review 7:Everything was fine.

Review 8:Everything was fine but I would particularlay mention the quality of the restaurant. I would recommend to book also the dinner which is an ecellent 3 course menu with mostly regional components such as the famous Capuns.

Review 9:Large room with bath in addition to en-suite shower room. Excellent recommendation from the manager for a small change to our driving route that produced some spectacular scenery and driving.

Review 10:Good view.

Review 11:Nothing

Review 12:Friendly staff. Very good breakfast Excellent and quiet location

Review 13:All good

Review 14:Food was excellent. Garage parking for our motorcycle. Staff very helpful

Review 15:Location is very convenient and the restaurant has very good food.

Review 16:Friendly welcome and treated well. Good food. Fast wifi.

Review 17:Central location - 5 mins from train station Friendly staff; nice atmosphere Very comfortable room Good value for money

Review 18:The restaurant

Review 19:Weird to see spa tub inside the room

Review 20:Free parking Free wifi, breakfast Friendly staff Main street location

Review 21:Big room with a four poster bed. That our cycling clothes were washed free of charge. Breakfast was good.

Review 22:Very friendly Family, very good value, will be back

Review 23:The owner are friendly and professional.

Review 24:Only potential drawback "could" be the traffic on the Oberalp-pass Strasse. (but no showstopper, read on) Alpsu has fitted special thick windows, blocking the sound almost 100%. Only thing is then, you have to keep them closed. So in summer an Airco might be nice. After 21:00 the traffic dies down almost completely though, so I just slept with windows wide open. And dreamed like a baby in the lovely canopy bed :) (June) (Mind you that even in summer, the night temps outside might drop to 10C or far below at that altitude, so open windows is certainly not everyone's taste. I personally just love the dry cool mountain air striking my face, while cuddling under a nice thick down duvet. Probably just me :) )

Review 25:Magnifcent rooms (each room with its specific character). Excelent quisine, with many local specialty dishes. Very friendly and helpfull staff, prolific in many languages, who seems to be genuinly interested in your well being, not just to be polite. Also the view is great... Overviewing town and the Lukmanier pass. This is a hotel that could potentially be very suited for romantic holidays. But that said, also very recommended for people that just like the special ambiance, even single travellers. Definite return if I'm in Disentis again!!

Review 26:A sauna in the hotel would have been an extra plus (although I knew it did not have that upon booking). Wifi not fully covering the room.

Review 27:Genuine friendliness of the staff. Good restaurant. Good simple breakfast. Without any fuzz we got a ride to the gondola by the manager when the bus turned out to be pausing for 1,5 hrs.

Review 28:Great simple, comfortable accommodation, very friendly owners/staff, nice simple touch of bottled water in room. Great location in town 3 mins walk from train and 3 mins drive from ski resort gondola.

Review 29:Nothing.

Review 30:I just concluded a weekend in Disentis. We were in Milan on business and had the weekend free so came for a skiing vacation here. Decided to stay at the Hotel Alpsu and I totally lucked out. It is a family owned and operated charming small hotel - 14 rooms - in the heart of the small village, 3 minutes from the train station, and with an excellent restaurant. For skiing, Sedrun/Diani is a short train ride away, and there is skiing in DIsentis too, though this opened only today. I got a large double room with a view of the street. There is no street noise to worry about in this town. The famous Benedictine monastery is a short 3-5 minute walk away. I had breakfast and lunch there on both days and the food is very good. Breakfast is buffet-style, breads, rolls, cheeses, cold cuts, cereals, yogurt and they made me eggs on request (I don't eat meat). Lunch includes some great regional specialties - today I ate a home-made pasta rolled in spinach and cooked in a bouillon. Excellent! But what makes this place special is the friendliness and attention of the owners. Annalisa is the most visible of the family - she is great - and her father is there too. I paid 90 swiss francs a night for an amazing experience. I would strongly recommend this place."

Review 31:Limited parking availability in a small series of bays across the road from the hotel but an excellent location for touring etc

Review 32:I arrived mid evening for 1 overnight stay. I found the reception very helpful and friendly, the room was very clean and reasonably well appointed. The breakfast was very tasty.

Review 33:It is relatively expensive, but then everything is expensive inSwitzerland.

Review 34:Very nice family hotel, friendly staff, the four-bed room was very cleanand beds were really comfortable. We had dinner twice in the restaurant, very good food and friendly atmosphere. The restaurant is famous for its"capuns", the local specialty.

Review 35:The welcome was very friendly, the rooms are comfortable and cosy, the food is exquisite. This family runs a cosy hotel and restaurant with pride and passion, we'd definitely recommend it and also the town itself, for a relaxing stay or as the starting point for hiking.

Review 36:The Internet was a little slow, but ok.

Review 37:Very helpful and friendly Staff, the room was modern and spacious for three adults, and the breakfast was fresh and delicious.

Review 38:Parking wasn't the easiest. Beds were rather hard; typical German style with flat pillows.

Review 39:They worked fast to get a room ready for us at short booking notice. Very spacious room for three people. Very clean. Delicious fresh bread at breakfast. They accept credit card.

Review 40:As I've said, the dinners in the hotel restaurant, while looking andsmelling excellent, seemed very over-priced: btw. 30 and 50 Francs forall of them.I heartily recommend instead going to the hotel's terrific, excellent VFM, very delicious and welcoming, friendly, homely and elegant pizzeria, which is across the road.

Review 41:Hotel Alpsu is a very friendly, comfy, old-world, wood-panelled, vfm, traditional Alps hotel with a modern reception and cosy restaurant.Staying here is good value for money compared to most double rooms in Switzer's hotels generally.I didn't eat in restaurant, as it was too expensive. All main courses were 28 Francs or more, even cordon bleu chicken was about 30 Francs, and most red meat main courses were over 35 Francs! This is the one area where I felt the hotel was overpricing itself.Staff were very friendly, fun and welcoming, and interested a lot in their guests and why they had come to their hotel and Disentis.Hotel is small - only c.10 bedroooms, but each one I saw was comfy, cosy, wood-panelled and a decent size double room. Each has a name, not a number. "Mises" is the best, as it feels very cosy and is like a small suite:1) It has a small, cosy double bedroom in a sloping-roof, wood-panelled room, feels like sleeping in a mountain hut or farm - very sweet!2) "Mises" bedroom also has a very long, a bit narrow corridor with big wardrobes and shelves, plus a table and chairs from the hotel's main corridor.3) Off the room's own corridor is a big bathroom, with sloping roof, underfloor heating, white tiles, huge bath, windows in the ceiling and side wall and a theatre-style, huge mirror (above sink) with vertical, white strip-lights.This bathroom is of a higher quality, more luxurious, than one expects with that room or that 3* hotel. So, "Mises" is probably the best value and most enjoyable bedroom in the hotel.Location is excellent:Hotel is 5 minute walk from Disentis's train station, up two mild slopes, and 1 minute walk around one corner to a mini-mart for food and drink for your room.It is also in the centre of the village, with other hotels and a few hotels only a few minutes walk, if you want to eat or drink elsewhere.

Review 42:A general resort (Disentis/Mustér) specific comment: the walk fromthe hotel to the cable car is about a kilometer uphill, and the localbus route was a bit confusing. It is necessary to observe time scheduleand route in advance.

Review 43:Friendly and welcoming staff. Located close to (a few hundred metersfrom) the railway station (Disentis/Mustér) is convenient if usingpublic transport with luggage.

Review 44:Hotel was very nicely decorated and staff very helpful.

Review 45:The people, the location. Nothing was a problem to help me. Thank you very much for your care.

Review 46:The location and the hotel is typical swiss country hotel

Review 47:Very friendly and helpful staff, quiet and relaxing

Review 48:Very friendly staff. Excellent food. Excellent room. Great location.

Review 49:Nothing!

Review 50:Everything! Analisa and Danielo couldn't do enough for us, we had a wonderful time and will definitely be going back!

Review 51:Family business, very warm welcoming and helpful people. Authentic Bündner, charming and not a chain! Try the capuns!

Review 52:Everything was good. Good room. Very good service. Near to the Railway station

Review 53:Pretttig verblijf en vriendelijke mensen

Review 54:Het was en prettig verblijf

Review 55:Friendly and helpful staff. Nice restaurant on site.
