Reviews for Diamante K

Review 1:No night time security or staff. The restaurant is mediocre and our bathroom was outside. Plus we woke up at 4 in the morning to an animal ripping apart our bag of Doritos.

Review 2:Super friendly staff, the room was really nice with a comfortable bed.

Review 3:-The restaurant had speakers with music on the beach and some of the relaxation areas. It was VERY annoying to make a big effort to find a place in a natural reserve to then be hearing imposed soft electronic music instead of the waves and the birds. We had to be hunting the hammocks on the few places without outdoor speakers. -We stayed in a cabin with no bathroom. The communal showers had no lock, there were two shower heads per shower room, and the hot water ran out in 2min. Absolutely no privacy. Huge gaps in between some of the logs so people walking around could see you showering. I saw much more of other guests than I needed to see... Also it was complicated to rinse the sand from inside the bathing suit without taking it out... that for 3 days is a bit much, especially for the price! -The restaurant is not allowed to give you free drinking water with your meal (not cheap either for Mexican standards). You have to buy expensive bottles of water. I never had that in Mexico before (I lived in Mexico for 25 years).

Review 4:The view and the place is magnificent! Just the ocean and palm trees ;-) I was very thankful that we were able to store our luggage after checking out and keep enjoying the outdoor facilities until sunset. The staff was very friendly and all the guest and staff were quiet and respectful. The archaeological site is a 20min walk by the beach ;-)

Review 5:There is a bit of a lack of privacy in the room we stayed in having an open air bathroom able to be viewed by a second floor room on the very near adjacent property. It would have been nice to have coffee or some breakfast options included.

Review 6:Beautiful property and friendly staff. Enjoyed the restaurant.

Review 7:Amazing to slept on the beach to the sound of waves. To look at the stars at night. Good crowd of people IF you want to Hang out. Perfect for me and my adult daughter for our first three nights in the Caribbean then simpelt backpacking life to follow

Review 8:Restaurant seems to be separated from hotel. Consumption could not be booked to room. There was one young lady in the restaurant that was rather unfriendly.

Review 9:Truly amazing location. Stunning beach. Good restaurant.

Review 10:The room decor needs updating. The location is off of the main strip in Tulum which makes it a little further away from the action that I'd have liked to have been. That said it's an easy 10 minute bike ride away.

Review 11:The quiet atmosphere and private beach are rare in this area.

Review 12:Wish there was a better beach at the hotel. The restaurant was great but needs better music

Review 13:We stayed in the presidential suite - beautiful no complaints. The outdoor shower was so cool

Review 14:Absolutely not worth the money Hut very basic. (Like in remote area of Thailand). Staff used same toilets and showers as guest, so we sometimes had to wait for vacancy. Bikes are not for free. No free drinking water.(Very limited i the restaurant area). Wi-fi only worked half the time we stayed there.

Review 15:Location is the best. Food prepared by the restaurant was fine. Nice decorations

Review 16:beautiful small and quiet hotel resort. there is a small beach access and the public beach is just a few steps away. the lighting in the night is very beautiful with all the torches and lamps.

Review 17:We had a room at the high end of the cost. But the bathroom was outside, so we had to go out in the rain and climb two steps up and two down. We all got sick and so it was extremely inconvenient. We had no idea when we reserved the room that the bathroom would be outside. Leaves and dust so it wasn't clean. It sounds glamorous, but it was awful.

Review 18:Location. The outdoor space was beautiful, with comfortable chairs, hammocks and even beds. The restaurant and staff are excellent. The swimming cove was also beautiful and swimming was great, riding the waves. Overall, it was a great experience.

Review 19:it was beautiful. the most perfect leisure vacation we have had. we had our two young children with us and it was wonderful but it is the perfect couples getaway. you can walk to the ruins, you can bike into the city or the opposite end of the seaside. we got a room with a bathroom since we had our girls but they're are community bathrooms which i think is adorable, very clean. no tv, lights come on between 6-11. plugs work all day. everyone is friendly. very rustic, bohemian vibe. if i go back with just my husband we will stay again. incredibly chill.

Review 20:Different experience with the hotel layout... Shared bathroom outside the cabin.

Review 21:Different experience with the hotel layout! Charming stand alone cabins lit with candles. Wifi everywhere, even by the beach.

Review 22:Rooms do get very hot as there is no air con, the fan only slightly helps but very noisy. You'll need to sleep with the windows open to get a nice breeze, although some may find this a bit worrying as anyone could climb in, although they do have security patroling all night Check bill as few times we were overcharged, but once queried were refunded. Although once we were told menu prices for cocktails were wrong and the prices were what was on our bill, which was odd.

Review 23:Location is beautiful, right on the beach. Lots of different seating options like hammocks and sun loungers scattered around, so you can unwind and take in the surroundings. Food was quite good at reasonable prices. Beautiful at night making good use of lighting around to make it a romantic setting.

Review 24:Can't find anything I didn't like... Maybe bicycles are too old and basic. Might be time of having new ones or better maintained. Not big deal

Review 25:In general the lay out of the hotel, location upon the sea, amacas, palm trees

Review 26:Some may found Diamante K a bit too basic as most cabins do not have bathrooms and they are quite dark (we stayed in two different ones), with no AC. It was almost impossible to read after dark. It was very loud in the cabins closest to the sea (the sound of the waves hitting the rocks). Far to Tulum pueblo, a taxi is needed.

Review 27:This was a one-of-a-kind experience. We stayed in a wooden cabin located literally 10 metres from the sea! The hotel area is quite and peaceful with lots of palm trees, hamocks etc. A romantic place perfect for honeymooners. There is a tiny private beach and famous Playa Paraiso is also nearby. Close to Archeological Zone which is accessible on foot. The staff was very helpful and friendly. We loved the charm of this place !

Review 28:There were construction works going on right next to our bungalow and in front of our open bathroom, which was super annoying, light is centrally turned off at 11h p.m., open design of bungalow makes it possible for all kinds of insects to get inside

Review 29:-the bathroom is shared between females and males! the shower is basically one large cabana with two showers inside... no way to lock the door, as there is none... -sargazo that completely covers the beach. I've seen staff cleaning it from the beach from the early morning, but when we got to the beach, there was SO MUCH SARGAZO, that it seemed, that they did not even touch it :( -completely overpriced restaurant, which is kinda what you expect in Tulum... however, you can eat for fair prices at the entrance to the tulum ruins, where there are parkings for the cars. (stomach safe too) -I dont think you can ban drinking inside the rooms... maybe sweet drinks like coke would attract the ants, but water must be allowed in my opinion... - you only have electricity for limited hours of the night - we only had wifi like two hours after we checked in. than, for the rest of our stay, no wifi whatsoever, not in the room, not near the reception, not in the restaurant.....

Review 30:-charming room in the cabana on the beach -very nice hotel area

Review 31:Unfortunately you can't predict the weather and we were there during a lot of storms, which meant indoor activities, something Diamante K is not really built for as everything is outdoors. The rooms (small cabanas) is too small to stay in and with the windows closed during the rain, made it very warm and humid inside. The little fan provided was too small to provide relief in this sort of situation. Also found the shared shower a little confronting as it is a room with two showers and no curtains dividing the showers, no real door and very little light. Having said that we really loved Diamante K and will definitely go back just at a better time of the year.

Review 32:The location was perfect for what we were looking for close to the Ruins and situated on the beach in a national park. Ana the lovely receptionist was wonderful and welcoming not to mention a wealth of information. It is very clean, the food in the restaurant was good and overall we enjoyed our experience at Diamante K. We would definitely recommend Diamante K.

Review 33:the woman at the front desk wasn't organized well for a pricy hotel. the bikes for rent are catastrophic! they are the most basic possible from the beginning, and we got one which lost all air in the tires when we arrived at the furthest point (gran cenote). so we had to walk back ALL the way! it took us so long that we couldn't go to the ruins the same day anymore. this is a NO GO for such a pricy hotel. none cared when we told them about their broken bike.

Review 34:great private beach with many options to sit or lie and enjoy the ocean. cabanas right next to the beach, we had one with ocean view, that was amazing!

Review 35:Our bungalo with a "garden view" turned out to be with a view to shared toilet. Plus, the cleanliness in this toilet was poor and water cold in the shower. No electricity during the day as well. Even though on the beach location with nice views and bar at the beach, you cannot swim at the hotel, as there is no sandy beach, only hard rocks next to water.

Review 36:This hotel is having building work done, we were woken up At 8.30am with 2 groups of men digging holes, shouting, laughing and spitting on the floor. I spoke to the people in reception who did nothing. I was told they would send me an email with 2 free nights, the email never arrive

Review 37:No beach but 20mt long aside from the most of "cabanas". No access to the sea (stones)! Very expensive restaurant. Shared shower and WC with limited water. No electricity or very dark light. In our room no A/C, very noisy ventilator. As a result i had to sleep outside at the "beach"!

Review 38:Caught cashier in restaurant overcharging us several times. She also failed to inform us gratuity was automatically included and allowed us to double-tip several times.

Review 39:Gorgeous setting, clean room, good food, amazing location.

Review 40:Everyone seems to run on Mexico-time which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but we had to wait an extra hour or so for our room to be ready after the 3pm check in

Review 41:Very private, lovely, clean beach with hammocks and lounge beds for everyone. The rooms were open air and perfect for falling asleep to crashing waves.

Review 42:Buildings were not weather proof. Our room flooded in the rain. All seats in the restaurant were soaked wet. No hot water.

Review 43:Huge bed. Beautiful grounds.

Review 44:Room was a bit warm. Needs a fan or two, or air con. The staff once we asked did however provide us with fans which made it better. Also mosquito screens over the windows.

Review 45:The friendly staff, great food. Value for money and excellent views and location. Relaxing feel

Review 46:I broke my toe wandering around to the outside bathroom at night. it is not well lit and there were many rocks and stones on the path, as well as a minor construction site in the doorway to the nearest baghroom

Review 47:the location, close to great beaches

Review 48:music was anytime on till 10.30 pm. sometime electro... we don't like that.

Review 49:nice huts under palms with a own sandy beach . food is ok. sometime live music ... that was fantastic !!!

Review 50:It was very dim in the rooms to the point that it was impossible to do anything after 6:30pm. The lights would automatically turn off at 11pm. There was only a tiny electric fan that you had to awkwardly position on a chair and run an extension cable for power to get any air circulation. Mostly it was the really dark rooms.

Review 51:The location was great although the beach was small. The staff was friendly and helpful.

Review 52:The room they moved us to flooded which resulted in a computer getting ruined and a falling incident where I got a concussion from slipping on the puddles of water.

Review 53:Bedroom 7 is right behind the electricity generator which is quite noisy up to 11pm. To know if you're sensitive to noise. Other than that the place is very quiet. There are no hooks in the bedroom - not very handy for your towel and other stuff. The light is lacking in the common area so you can't read a book in the evening and it was only possible in the bedroom in the bed itself. The outside bathroom is nice but the level of the floor is such as when it was raining, everything was drained towards the shower. Meaning the shower was full of leaves and wooden bits after a rainy night. Also with an outside bathroom you cannot leave anything in the bathroom.

Review 54:Very nice vibes in the hotel. It has a laid back atmosphere. They've made the best out of their garden with nice benches facing the sea. Nice decor in the rooms and very nice bathroom under the sky. Very good breakfast - take the Nutella crepes, they are to die for! The manager, Fabien, is extremely nice and talkative.

Review 55:Lights only available from dusk till 11pm. Wifi was iffy sometimes.

Review 56:Great location on the beach with easy access to the town, to other beaches, and to the Tulum ruins.

Review 57:The only, if not minor, negative experience during our stay was dealing with one of the owners, a guy called Pavlovich. He had a very sickening way of treating the staff below him, and one night he was even rude to our group for truly nothing. It is because of him and his ways that I would think twice before booking again at Diamante K, where everything else was pretty much ok.

Review 58:Diamante K is a very nice resort, in a beautiful location, making it a good return on your money. Their staff is fantastic, always helpful and always showing you a big, honest smile. René in the kitchen is top.

Review 59:Breakfast not included and the one restaurant on site offers limited choice at not the best value for money. Beach front was unfortunately plagued by seaweed as well, however this is a problem across much of the caribbean sea at this moment. Wifi could be a little stronger across the resort.

Review 60:Bungalow layout, beach front, staff, hammocks and relaxed vibe. We were hesitant choosing this resort due to lack of A/C but the beachfront bungalow gets a pleasant breeze meaning this was no problem at all.

Review 61:Staff was not sincere about the Sargazo problem. They said it was ok, but instead it was impossible to enter into the ocean. And it smelt so bad!

Review 62:Great location and uncommon cabanas. Nice internal restaurant even if a bit costly.

Review 63:Shared bathroom facilities were essentially the only downfall of this place, as some people are cleaner than others!! It's definitely for a relaxed week on a beach, where you don't care how messy your hair is ;)

Review 64:The location is great, right on the beach, walking distance to the ruins and a short taxi ride into tulum city. The restaurant is great and means you essentially don't need to leave the place!!

Review 65:No eating in the room, no cooking I understand but eating can not be forbidden, I would think so.

Review 66:We had a nice stay and enjoyed our time at the Hotel. All turned out ot fitt the description of the hotel. Clean, quite, relaxing with bar and Restaurant, so you had not to run around in town to find a place.

Review 67:Absolutely nothing was wrong

Review 68:Diamante k is a beautiful little hippie heaven. Every single working there have lovely soul, we loved them very much. We stayed in 4 different room and loved all of them. The food and cocktails are a delight. We are definitely coming back. Samantha yvinec

Review 69:It is warm at night... We had shared bathroom which was fine... And the shower is fairly open. Lights go out at 10:30pm, but it is all part of the experience. For me this wasn't a negative, but part of a wonderful experience.

Review 70:Such a fabulous place.... Yes it is a little warm at night so be aware of that. But sitting out under the stars listening to chilled music with candles all around is priceless. Probably the best night of our 14 day holiday which included 9 hotels one of which was £175 a night. This was £41 and we liked it the best. Stay here if you get the chance, you won't regret it.

Review 71:Nothing.

Review 72:This isn't new favorite vacation place period. It has a magic that cannot be described. It's pretty rustic, but that is part of what makes it so great! It's it like crazy already.

Review 73:Fabian and Patrick were very friendly and helpful and went out of their way to give us sightseeing tips and helping us with reservations. The entire staff was very pleasant to deal with. We wished we could have stayed longer.

Review 74:This hotel is great. It's located right in the national park which means you are literally walking distance from the Archeological sites. They have bikes to hire so you can be in town in no time for drinks or a quick bite. They can suggest places to go to around. And there is always a massage therapy with very reasonable prices.

Review 75:There was no air con in the room. At first we didn't even have a fan. When we finally managed to track down a member of staff to give us one, it was tiny and didn't impact the temperature of the room at all. We also had a only a padlock on a door that didn't work. When we brought this to the attention of the staff they said it was 'perfect'.

Review 76:Beautiful surroundings

Review 77:I think I'm just not really into the eco friendly resorts because I'd like AC. It's just hard to sleep in the stick heat. The resort is great, but because of the heat and no AC it was hard to get comfortable. I'm sure if the weather was colder, I would have zero complaints.

Review 78:I really liked the atmosphere and the people that worked at the resort. The resort was actually perfect if you are okay with ECO Friendly.

Review 79:1) shared bathroom: I understood that the shared bathroom was something like "on your private shower block" but no! You get to shower in the prison-liked ones and no proper door just the beads curtain which we were not ok with that so we asked for an upgrade and pay double to get our own bathroom. The staff was so helpful to move us to another room but there was no access to the sea so I chose to slept with the door opened to be able to sleep and I got bitten by a truck loads of Mosquitos lol 2) no food and drink allowed from outside means that you have to eat their food or catch a taxi to Tulum Pueblo ($70 each way). I didn't eat their food but the drinks weren't too much different from outside shop. 3) limited electricity (from 11 pm - 7am if I didn't get it wrong) so if you had a shared bathroom means that you gotta take a flashlight with you to do your things and the lights in the area weren't bright enough to see the way to the bathroom.

Review 80:the resort has its own beach access which would besuper cool if there was no weeds hanging around but it happens along the coast the resort can't do much about it. The staff were so friendly and willing to help when you reach out for.

Review 81:The hotel is definitely not a good value for money deal. It s far too expensive for such basic cabañas and all additional services are overpriced as well...you even had to pay for poorly maintained bikes. The real downside however is the restaurant. Most of the time credit card payment did not work, their exchange rate was ridiculously in their favor and the quality of food was poor. One night we had to wait for 45 minutes until we finally got at least our drinks. Would strongly recommend to go somewhere else for food. The staff in the hotel was not well trained and there seem to be only 2 who have real responsibility. We almost missed our bus on the last day because the receptionist was gone for 45 mins and could not be reached...however he or she was the only one to be able to open the locked luggage storage. some light in the bathroom during daytime would have been nice as well for that price.

Review 82:The public areas were nice and clean. The bed was super comfortable and had a great mosquito net. We were lucky to have one of the few cabins with a great ocean view. A fan in the rooms would be great.

Review 83:Wind blew into the room every night covering the bed, phones and clothiers in a fine layer of sand (staying in no.5) Music sometimes too loud but got better through stay. A little remote if you are looking for bars and partying.

Review 84:Great staff, friendly and helpful. Fantastic bar tenders and servers. great location near ruins, walking distance.

Review 85:as our lock didn't open when we checked in, the night guard hat to destroy it in order to open the door. during the 4 days of our stay the hotel staff didn't manage to replace it. only after we checked out it was immediately replaced. because it is very safe, we didn't mind. but it's still odd.

Review 86:We arrived late at night and were warmly welcomed by the nice guard. the location was great: directly at the sea, so we fell asleep and rose every day with the sound of the waves. besides that, we appreciated the palm trees which are spread all over the place because the were giving shadow. And all the hammocks are great because it feels like holidays! the receptionists were helpful and nice (laundry service, booking a tour, renting bikes). restaurant offers good breakfast & lunch/dinner + beach service.

Review 87:It was a rustic, fantastic place to stay. It had a calm laid back atmosphere. Hammocks and loungers on the beach to relax in. We were right on the beach. The food served was also good. It is also just a few minutes away from a Mayan ruin.

Review 88:I've been in many places on the world but Diamante K in Tulum is one of a kind.It takes an important part in my life and I will come back there every year now

Review 89:If you got seaview you're getting waken up by the sun which is actually not that bad. But if the sun rises already at 5.45 it can be a little early.

Review 90:Waking up and stepping out in the sea. What do you want more.

Review 91:The bed was the worst, impossible sleep. The location is not the best for the beach of Tulum. Every body can see you in the shower. No hot water and no parking. I think that the price of the room is high for the services and the facilities offered.

Review 92:Facilities close to the beach

Review 93:You can't bring in food or drinks, because the hotel has a restaurant. Never heard anything like that, and not very hospitable if you've already paid a good amount of money for your stay.

Review 94:Great place to have couple of days at the beach, sleeping a bit differently than in your regular hotel. Staff's very friendly, hotel is situated nicely.

Review 95:Everything was great.

Review 96:Everything was amazing. Macro is exceptional and makes you feel right at home. The food is great. The location (right on a quiet private beach) is unlike anything we have ever seen. We extended our stay it was so good. We would definitely recommend doing the sea snorkeling with the local that brings his boat right up to the private beach. Also Sac-a-tun Cenote was brilliant and worth the extra pesos, you get to snorkel/float in a maze of caves. Make sure to bring cash when traveling outside of Cancun.

Review 97:Slight issue with the payment. The card machine wasn't working atthe time we checked out so had to take a taxi into town which costs 140pesos (about €10) return trip. However one of the owners compensatedanother trip I had to make - problem solved, excellent customer service! The high prices at the restaurant. Those on a budget I recommend buying a few supplies from the supermarket just before getting a taxi from town.

Review 98:Beautiful resort, a place where you end up staying longer then planned! The chilled out vibe complimented by the hammocks and soft lounge music adds to the character. Restaurant serves great food although be aware it's expensive compared to other restaurants in town. I was pleasantly surprised they even had soya milk. Highly recommended! I don't usually plan to visit places more than once but this is the exception! I would love to chill in the hammocks again!

Review 99:A place like this needs good and fresh cocktails, unfortunately this is not the case yet

Review 100:Fantastic location, laidback atmosphere, resorts blends perfectly in surrounding nature, democratic (bungalows available for every budget)

Review 101:Lovely romantic rooms, comfy beds, great location

Review 102:Beautiful

Review 103:Excelente mágico love

Review 104:Highly overpriced

Review 105:Close to nature

Review 106:Amazing exotic place and location.

Review 107:Prices for food and accommodation

Review 108:We had the senior suite Tadich with nice privacy and own terasse

Review 109:Our stay was too short :(

Review 110:Perfect position. Best view!

Review 111:Great location, nice buildings, great places to rest in den garden.

Review 112:The staff, location, architecture, SHOWER, cabana, atmosphere

Review 113:Paradise on Earth with lovely Angels in reception!

Review 114:Food was too expensive.

Review 115:Great staff.

Review 116:No lights in cabana and sand blowing in.

Review 117:The food and restaurant staff.

Review 118:Everyone is very friendly. The location is unbeatable. Beautiful vacation destination.

Review 119:Beds are rough. Sleeping was f Difficult

Review 120:Highly overpriced. Had small room. Couldn't even place a suitcase on the floor

Review 121:Great location

Review 122:Closer to paradise than this one will not, fantastic location, and so cozy with the personal service of the restaurant.

Review 123:In the night it can be a bit scary without lights & power. And the cabanas without A/C are way to hot!

Review 124:Gorgeous spot & nice staff!

Review 125:rooms where a bit damp

Review 126:staff was very friendly and wanted only the best for us. + had a great massage from Leonardo ;)

Review 127:Bathrooom had no door

Review 128:Everything

Review 129:Could use a fan in the room

Review 130:amazing location and staff. Beautiful beach and great food!
