Reviews for Al-Safwah Towers Hotel – Dar Al-Ghufran

Review 1:Double bed is actually two twin beds put side to side.

Review 2:Location good but the outside of the Safwa Tower by the Haram is always crowded (not the hotel's fault) especially at prayer time. Breakfast was good but ends at 10. Restaurants in Safwa Tower and shops/supermarket so you don't need to go out of the tower lots. Many lifts mean less waiting time. Prayer hall is good and overlooking the Haram.

Review 3:WiFi gets disconnected when you are in the lobby. Limited TV channels, Iron & Iron Board not available in the rooms

Review 4:Nice rooms/ comfortable, Nice Breakfast

Review 5:Housekeeping especially staff cleaning the rooms need to be improved. May be some of them less experience working in big hotels before. Several times i noticed they do not properly clean the bathroom/ toilets, wash basin& mirror (not even using toilet brush to clean the stain)

Review 6:I stay in this hotel since my hajj trip in 2011. Its location ( few minutes walk to Al Haram), good staff, very good choices of buffet breakfast menu, good and reliable esclators/lefts etc make my family and me to come back to this hotel every time we perform umrah. For eg in March & December 2014 and March and December 2015.

Review 7:Response to the Pre-requisite on booking.Com not aware of

Review 8:Clean of rooms and colidoors High variety of breakfast menu Staff cooperation e.g. front desk and the laggueges transfers

Review 9:No free parking; access to hotel is restricted around prayer times. No other issues.

Review 10:Excellent location; courteous staff; clean and spacious rooms; extensive and delicious breakfast; prayer floor with haram view.

Review 11:Cleanliness!!! I called 3 times to make them come and clean my room. but was still not that clean! They kept us waiting from 1 pm until 4 pm in the waiting area until they prepared our room to check in!!

Review 12:Location

Review 13:Room ventelation is poor It was hard to breath espically during sleeping. Other wise the rest were very good.

Review 14:1-Room furniture. 2- morning breakfast. 3- location . 4- staff were very friendly .

Review 15:It was a great experience staying at Alsafwah Towers Hotel Dar-AlGhufran. The staff were excellent, especially Mr Abid(receptionist) who was extremely helpful.

Review 16:Service is bad specially cleaning of room is so bad as well as Breakfast is not good we expect to be as any five stars hotels.

Review 17:No thing, if you consider it 5 start hotels. It should be more Comfortable.

Review 18:I didn't like the Wi-Fi. It's free in the rooms but slow. No free wifi in the lobby as you have to pay if you stay in the lobby We waited quiet long time waiting for the employee who works in Guest Relations because no one was there for some time.

Review 19:I like the hotel in general. The staff are friendly, the location is excellent, Breakfast is very nice. It's a good hotel to stay in Mecca

Review 20:The interior finishing of the room and the toilet. I am a professional builder. There is no attention to detail

Review 21:Professionalism. The staff were truly professional unlike most hotels in Makkah

Review 22:More cooperative guy at reception, i wanted to extend my stay, but staff didn't help. So i spent 2 night at another hotel and then again booked 2 nights at Dar al Ghufran via Agoda, although staff always kept saying said "no rooms are available" !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Review 23:Breakfast, staff, cleanliness except bathroom, where stays on floor.

Review 24:Nothing

Review 25:Great staff. Very welcoming. We arrived late and they gave us upgrade to a junior suite instead of waiting for our room to get ready. Breakfast was brilliant, kind of crowded early in the morning but there's huge variety

Review 26:the staff is is not helpful nor cooperative also they had a system error where they waited till last minute to say they couldn't fix the problem of payment for my parents and delayed them in checking out for 2 hours, even though i contacted the hotel twice for confirmation before my parents arrive at mecca for Umrah! and that caused more trouble to be able to find a bank after 12.30 pm to make the transfer possible so i had to be excused from work to find an exchange instead and pay extra charge for the transfer !

Review 27:the location is great plus the nearby market and variety of restaurants

Review 28:- There is no free parking it will cost you 15 sr per hour. They give you 30% discount if you stay in parking for 24 hour so it will be 250 sr daily I think or maybe one time offer.- The shuttle from Jeddah airport will cost you 200 SR minimum. - If you want to have your booking offer breakfast they will charge you. - any thing and every thing you ask will cost you money except housekeeping. - Calls to same area land line will cost money you too. - I don't know why they say it's 5 star hotel may be because we should rate 5 out of 10. - most of useful service in the hotel from Al-Safwah Towers because they rented one of their towers, like Haram view mosque and shoppes.

Review 29:The only two good things is nearby Haram by elevator or escalator andstores under the hotel.

Review 30:not 5 star hotel breakfast, poor quality food, not tasty. Room amenities are of 3 star hotel overpriced for the service.

Review 31:location is good. clean room

Review 32:Surprisingly, no free parking for a 5-star facility. High cost of parking within the hotel complex basement car parking is the biggest negative. The checkout time should be changed to 1 pm from 12 pm to coincide with the end of afternoon prayers.

Review 33:The walking distance to Haram is a big plus. The quality and variety of the buffet breakfast was top-notch. The local reception staff were cordial and for a pleasant change could speak English as compared to many of the hotels in the vicinity. The room size was normal but clean and comfy.

Review 34:I hope they were cleaner check the rooms @ the night

Review 35:I arrived earlier than check in time & they were so welcome . Breakfast was excellent . Location is very near to Haram

Review 36:There should be change in the breakfast menu as it was almost same on days of our stay.

Review 37:Rooms were very clean. The housekeeping staff were very courteous. Near to Haram ;gate number 89 which leads to Mataf and lower temporary ring.

Review 38:The breakfast need improvement, as the verity of food is too less, also there is no fruits.

Review 39:Almost every thing was excellent, Very clean, the location is perfect.

Review 40:Little narrow room. Strict check out time. Expensive.

Review 41:Easy access to holy mosque. Welcoming staff. Good breakfast. Clean and quiet.

Review 42:Everything is perfect inside that hotel ,, staff is very friendly ,, very clean rooms, loaction is amazing ,, breakfast is amazing ,, hope to stay in it again.

Review 43:Overall the place is perfect for all ages and genders. Room, food andlocation is the best for the money paid. This was my third stay and willfor sure inshallah will come again.

Review 44:Wifi is little bit weak

Review 45:Everything n close to al haram . Good service with excellent facilities. The stuff are so welcoming. Delicious breakfast buffet with lots of variety. I recommend it strongly

Review 46:Negotiate for late check out. Our flight at night. We ask for late check out after Asr but the hotel not allowed us to do so. Do consider customer need for the service.

Review 47:Location.Staff customer services.

Review 48:I requested late checkout through Booking (and get approved) & when I checked in the reception confirm it that i have until 4:00 pm Unfortunately , the staffs was annoying! want us out since 11 am! Even though i explained to him that we have late check out. They ware calling every hour distract our sleep and at 3 pm two staffs knocked the door want us out immediately !!

Review 49:Location The Breakfast

Review 50:the cooking smell I go through while entering the building coming from the Masjid ALHaram . Publice Resturant in the building should be relocated.

Review 51:location

Review 52:Would have liked to have a room with a street view, not one with a view of the adjacent wall. Not pleasant and no opportunity to experience direct light.

Review 53:Everything was good. Breakfast was excellent:|{ good variety, fresh food, attentive staff, great omelets/falafel balls. Limousine rental rates should be lower, but that is not the hotel's problem, I understand.

Review 54:Lighting switches far from bed, wifing, fridge not cooling although it was replaced. Booked double bed room, was not avaikable at checkin time. Small rooms. Althoigh double bed room was nanageded but only one bedside table.

Review 55:It's location and the friendly staff

Review 56:The only bad or discomfort thing is that the wifi is weak

Review 57:I like the location, staff are very friendly, breakfast very rich. I would recommend it to my family and friends.

Review 58:1. Put more English speaking receptionist please ! 2. Have more friendly n smile ready receptionist please !

Review 59:1. The facilities ! ? 2. The food! Delicious but not so variety breakfast ! 3. The toiletries ! Smells marvellous !

Review 60:Room service

Review 61:Everything, specially the staff in the reception (Ramzy ) & all of them r so nice &polite ... I arrived early so they tried their best to give early check in & aplogise for delaying me, although they don't have to... Breakfast was so nice specially Falafel

Review 62:1. Check-Out time (12 PM) is unfair considering Zuhr Salaat time & Lunch hour as well as considering the Check-In time being 4 PM so Check-Out time should be 24 Hours from the time Guest actually Checks-In. 2. Lacking basic Facilities like T & Milk refilling.

Review 63:Everything except Check-Out time which was too early & should be atleast 24 Hours from the Check-In time (4 Pm)and certain Basic Facilities like Tea Bags & Milk such be automatically Refilled.

Review 64:Excellent Location, only three escalators and your inside the Haram Excellent Staff, so welcoming and helpful Excellent Breakfast Would highly recommend.

Review 65:in front of room number 503 there stair case and small room in staircase there was smoking smell and the small room it was a a store kiping paints it was smelling.

Review 66:every thing was great room, breakfast. location.

Review 67:Generally OK. Breakfast is somewhat 3 stars hotel. We asked for a baby crib when made the reservation but it wasn't on the room. Asked at the reception they said they will send it but must have forgotten and we didn't raise it.its really a 3 star hotel as to compare with fermont which is 5

Review 68:Close by. Shops underneath the hotel.

Review 69:just one time the key didnt work but that was just a minor issue everything else excellent exceeded my expectation didnt have words to explain

Review 70:everything was good really enjoyed the breakfast was the best

Review 71:No flexibility at the check in The concerge were too busy to help with the bags. The manger didn't seem to care about any thing No parking with made too diffcult and expensive to park the car.

Review 72:Close to haram

Review 73:bathrooms weren't cleaned properly for example bathrooms should be left dry after cleaning especially floors the ppl there leave it wet!

Review 74:Almost everything ,bedding were comfortable soft and clean, food was great , staff were thoughtful and hospital

Review 75:Late check-in (4pm). Should be earlier.

Review 76:Proximity to the mosque with easy access. Friendly and attentive staff. Good size room with seating area. Clean and comfy beds. Good selection for breakfast, freshly cooked eggs espresso and cappuccino available.

Review 77:- Suggest to add more Varity of fresh fruit to the breakfast menu

Review 78:- Close to Haram - Professional staff, very cooperative. Arrived earlier than check in, yet welling to receive me. - Value for money - Clean, comfortable rooms - First hotel I stayed in in the last five years where they do respond your calls and requests on time. - Staff are welling to help and they do mean that. - Outstanding hotel by all means, I strongly recommend it especially if you have your family with you.

Review 79:we request for i room with 3 beds but the 3rd bed is proved as extra bed for child which was not conformable, the room give is very Small , center column, otherwise

Review 80:good food , nice staff personalty,

Review 81:I booked a room for 3 adult (3 single beds) and they gave me a room with 2 beds. Complained to front desk and guess what they do? - they just put in another bed in the room. Word of advice, if you need 3 beds, just book for room with 2 beds because the sofa provided in the room is sofa-bed... :)

Review 82:The staff especially the concierge were very helpfull and attentive.

Review 83:Extra toiletries are needed. The free WiFi only works from the room

Review 84:Location is close to the Haram. The prayer room at the hotel is very convenient The buffet is very good

Review 85:Only two notes: Soap holder was partially broken. one bed front looked bit rusty

Review 86:Location is perfecto! Cleanliness & Comfort Restaurant is great!

Review 87:Toilet works not satisfactory. Shower drain too small. Perinial spray for WC not conveniently positioned. No anti fog facility on the Wash Basin mirror.

Review 88:Comfortable. Staff very co-operative. One step to Haram. What more?

Review 89:Food in the room was not the best. Not related to the hotel.Private car transportation in the hallway, they are not private, they shoe me different car, then just arrange a regular limousine . if you need good cars use Sapatco.

Review 90:Location, the best in the surrounding, staff, cleanness,.spacious room.

Review 91:Friendly staff, front office. I was given an upgrade for a special occasion I had for free. Room was ready for me with fruit basket, coffee, and some dates.

Review 92:Excellent quality of service, smily staff, excellent breakfast, comfort room , good covering Wi Fi, great added value vs money unlike most of the Closed-to-Haram hotels

Review 93:Hotel needs to put more clear big signs within the corridors, basement shared parking and the steet side entrance like its 2 neighbors (dar al-eman and orchide). They lack staff especially on breakfast! Rooms isloation is 0. You hear your neighbors as if they are talking to you.

Review 94:Clean reasonable size rooms with all what you need available. Breakfast was fine but no fresh fruit. Good location and easy separate access to Haram. Parking although was expensive (264 SR/Day or 15 SR/Hour) but at least was available unlike many other hotels in the area, espacially King Abdulaziz Towers hotels. However if you are staying for some days, you can use the parking for unloading/loading and then drive to Kudai free public parking and take taxi from there for 10 or 15 riyals. Taxis are available in Kudai parking and near hotel 24/7.

Review 95:Took the cost 2 times and till now not refunded.

Review 96:They took the cost of my stay 2 times.I told them and I asked them many times but until now not refunded and no deal wit my complain ceriously.

Review 97:He said he will upgrade my room but when i reached there i found him did not.

Review 98:Cleanliness, Very near to King Abdulaziz Gate, Supermarkets and restaurants are very near

Review 99:6th times staying here. The location, staff's professionalism, convenient, comfort and sense of security will bring me back again to this Hotel, EnshaAllah.

Review 100:Absolutely nothing.

Review 101:The great location, the friendliness and politeness of staff, the quiteness of the property, the variety and richness of breakfast, and the space in the rooms.

Review 102:-The wifi is so slow -the parking was horrible so it's better to park away from the hotel and go to it by taxi

Review 103:-It's so close to the haram. -The traditional shopping mall in the same building

Review 104:nothing

Review 105:Every thing was grate staff are very friendly every one is welcoming and professional. The location is very crawdad in a very crowded place yet we chicked in and reached our rooms with our bags in only 15 min only, which is a record time in such a place if you know what is Makkah near Haram. bathrooms and rooms is very clean and net.

Review 106:Room was never cleaned during stay, even after requesting twice. In a 5* hotel, one should not have to nag for the room to be cleaned. Time of arrival was requested at time of booking, yet I was made to wait an hour, since there were no rooms available (arrived only 1 you before official check-in time)

Review 107:Only a short distance to Masjid-al-Haram. Polite staff at check-in.

Review 108:Free WiFi speed slow, limited TV channels all in Arabic no English language, difficult to get local taxi after Friday prayer

Review 109:Location close to Haram , good breakfast quality and variety, clean comfortable spacious rooms, nice Lobby and room decor.

Review 110:sometimes noisy neighbor rooms... expensive lunch and dinner buffet...

Review 111:dileacious buffet... variety of food especially breakfast .. close to haram... a lot of restaurants and shops inside the Al Safwah Towers and around .. Super Market available inside the Al Safwah Towers..

Review 112:Check out time 12:00 should be extended slightly.

Review 113:A special thank you to Mohammed Sabry in the back office and the guy at reception whose name I think is Abid. Both spoke good English and were very nice. I paid 780 riyals for two nights and I would definitely recommend it for that price. Breakfast buffet was also good, well looked after with nice variety. Room was fine name of course location is great.

Review 114:Absolutely Nothing.

Review 115:Every thing. Firstly, the honesty in advertising. The hotel didn't brag about having haram view rooms when they don't. Unlike nearby hotels whom claimed to have haram view while in fact guests have to place their cheeks on the window glass to only see the haram outter wall!! Additiinally Breakfast was fantastic all days. Rooms are spacious and bright, especially city view ones. Dinnier in room was a bit pricy but totally worth it. The hotel guests have a special discount on the underground car park, unlike other hotels whom are in the same Safwah towers but don't provide this service. Late check out was permitted, and most importantly when I extended my stay, I was charged the same amount as my original oniline booking, which is much less than the regular price. Thanks to all the friendly staff, especially Mr Yosuf, and Mr Abed.

Review 116:Staff slow response on combining twin beds into 1 double bed. I made 3 calls to the reception and room service. Eventually someone in the reception, gave me the phone number of the group that will do that. Also, I requested a wakeup call but no one called me.

Review 117:Location (near Al-Haram, the shops, and Taxis), Cleanliness, and comfort.

Review 118:Accessability to Hotel when arriving... The road next to the hotel enterance is closed most of the time specially during prayer times.

Review 119:Within 5 minutes walk from Haram... has its own prayer area connected with Haram.

Review 120:room service don't pick up the phone when we called the 8 am. I had to go down myself to tell them what i need.

Review 121:I liked the location very much. specially they have 12 lifts you don't need to wait in line like other hotels. breakfast was great. value of money (its worth it).

Review 122:The smell of the room Although smoking is not allowed, I can smell the smokes in the corridor :(

Review 123:Location is very close to haram The breakfast is amazing

Review 124:Hotel is excellent, I enjoyed every minute inside this hotel. There is no disadvantage about it. الفندق روعة بكل ما تعنية الكلمة ولو كان يطل عَل الحرم مباشرة لكان أفخم فندق زرتة من اروع الفنادق وأجملها وأجمل من فنادق امريكا واروبا بصراحة

Review 125:Breakfast, bed, location, near to mall and Hiram. Stuff

Review 126:the price

Review 127:Everything & special gratitude to the receptionist we offered us a free upgrade to facilitate our preference of Upper-storey room request

Review 128:Staff have, relations with taxi drivers and charge you more money than, what's outside, getting their commision. Yôu can get taxi easily just at door with reasonable fare.

Review 129:mosque in hotel building, location and market.

Review 130:My Family and I like every single thing about this Hotel. it is very close to Alharam, and you can hear the prayer call very well inside the room. The Wifi was great and fast. The breakfast was amazing. I will recommend it to anyone who wants to go to Mecca :)

Review 131:- Parking was very dirty and with additional cost and unorganized. I had to walk close to kitchen (backyard) to go to parking (uncomfortable for family) - room carpet was not clean there was some new wet vomitting I had to clean it myself. - Also minibar stuff was not clean. - I had to walk for 15 min inside the safwa tower to reach the outing door to haram - Wifi was not working with youtube

Review 132:Well-organized room, bathroom

Review 133:Expensive parking (264 SR per day) but that is because parking is managed separately.

Review 134:The staff is very kind, fast and cooperative. Breakfast was good. Clean, close to Haram, close to markets and many restaurants inside tower.

Review 135:There wasn't Bathrobe, Slipper, Toothbrush and Toothpaste in the room. WIFI was Poor and disconected several times. Despite of this fact that I have selected type of bed as King size for couple plus baby cot, they gave us room with 2 seperate beds and without baby cot and for this case I talked with reception 2 times face to face and called 4 times since 5:00 PM up to 01:00 midnight, but didn't get any execution specailly about Baby cot. The refrigerator inside of the room was so hotter than out side temprature and couldn't save milk for baby inside. Breakfast time according to season should be abit later like as 09:00 up to 11:30 instead of 06:00~10:00. Because most of guests are in prayer during midnight and jusr can sleep after morning prayer. With this way guets will be able to have a more time for Sleep without any scare to scape the breakfast .

Review 136:Location is very closed to HARAM.

Review 137:It was a lovely experience. Nothing bad.

Review 138:Staff are so professional, welcoming and friendly especially Mr. Magid Muashi the assistant front office manager. He served us warmly and attentively. We were so satisfied with the excellent service we had .

Review 139:Extremely Small bottles of water provided by house keeping Restaurant food was too pricey in case we wanted to order food for child or members who were not fasting

Review 140:The food was good The prayer hall (extension to Haram) was convenient especially in peak times Presence of food court and supermarkets in the same building was extremely useful The staff was friendly baarakAllaahu feehim The Adhan could be heard in the rooms alhamdulillaah The location was great for both, access to haram and to catch a cab to the city maashaaAllaah

Review 141:Wifi connection was poor. Expected a better reception. It was on and off in terms of reception.

Review 142:The rooms and the service was excellent. Very helpful staff. Good food.
