Reviews for Al Safwah Royale Orchid Hotel

Review 1:The furniture is outdated and I requested triple room, they gave me a twin room with extra third bed which made the room unorganized and uncomfortable for a two day stay. The view is side you only see a little of ma'azana only.

Review 2:Closeness from Haram you take short direct dtairs to the Mashid's yard. There is a mosque in the hotel. There are lots of shops and mini market under the hotel and a large shopping mall next to it in the clock tower.

Review 3:The room is not fully ready when we get in. We had to ask for another towels to accommodate the whole family. And teaspoon are not available at the restaurant. Must get from the waiter.

Review 4:Almost everything. Location, staff, facilities, food, service.

Review 5:There are no good managing for the staff A big issue in the day of check out and it is not become 12 yet They consider us left the room and they opened the room with the master key while we are still in the room

Review 6:Provide room originally identified for two persons (adding additional bed), while I reserved room for 3 adults. So the room is very crowded and we can not move inside the room

Review 7:Near haram. Clean

Review 8:Cleaners left our room door open when our luggage and other belongings were inside the room. Anyone could have entered and took our things. Four beds room very crowded.

Review 9:We checked in at 10 which was really nice. The hotel is very close to haram. Room service was quick and good. Breakfast had so many variations.

Review 10:The room was small; we booked the room that can fit three people, but since they saw us coming only two of us, they gave us a smaller room. The breakfast was really limited and some of them were finished although we came at 7 am!

Review 11:The location is central and the staffs were really nice and helpful.

Review 12:Washrooms are not in good condition. No tub for taking bath. No pakistani channel on TV

Review 13:The location is good. Staff is welcoming and cooperative. Rooms are spacious and well maintained.

Review 14:I booked after filtering Booking.com for hotels with parking. after reaching there, the receptionist had repeated two words only; "No Parking". I paid around 285 SAR, with this price I could upgrade to more elegant hotel. We asked for child mattress about 3 times and finally they got one after Fajr pray. Room is small, finishing is poor, sockets on wall full of dirt, wooden joinery works are poor. Towels are not sufficient and small. room equipped with 4 bags of tea and sugar. however, no kettle available!

Review 15:only location

Review 16:One of the rooms I choose was haram view but i didnt saw the haram from that room, and in the same room the TV was not working, I asked to replace it but after 3 hrs they sent another TV which was not was not clean and every min cuts. The other problem is that i choose triple bed room but they dont have it in that hotel. I asked the supervisor at that shift, he's name husam, he was unresponsible with no respect and no repond to customers, and didnt do anything

Review 17:Location, and restaurant was nice.

Review 18:The receptionist is not helpful and coorperative. He just simply tell me that the booking was cancelled without any reason and ask me to contact booking.com for clarification. After 1 hour of drama between booking.com rep. and them finally thy allow me to check-in with un-prepared room. It is the same drama during check out as well due to genuis previllage to check-out late was not allow too.

Review 19:Location and Breakfast

Review 20:The room was clean but the furniture in the room is old and overall it seems the hotel has not been renovated. The lighting in the room was not that good either.

Review 21:Location is very near to the Haraam. The Safwa tower building in general is very good and one can get to the Salah pretty quickly.

Review 22:No staff response: Hopelessly, requested a baby crib three times, they say OK but got nothing. Breakfast buffet served 6:30 to 10:30am, in a separate hall next to main restaurant, got there at 8 am, but at 8:30am they removed the food not even waiting for those who got in and still eating, saying they continue till 10:30am in the main restaurant. Buffet quality and varaiety is very poor, less than even 3 stars hotels. The room was for 4 people, but supplies were for only 3 people. Room service came for the regular daily cleaning during the time of getting ready for Jomaa Prayer (I said no thanks, just give me some towels and supplies). Total disappointment for the paid price. I have been to several, different levels hotels in Mecca, never had such poor deal.

Review 23:The only advantage is location as it is very close to Haram

Review 24:The lighting inside room a bit off. Its really traffic outside of safwah tower ( not hotel mistake) but it makes my trip delay due to really bad traffic to enter the area. It does say my room will b haram view. But actually its only 1/4 of view is haram view, which u have to look really near to window to see it. Most of view is the road view

Review 25:The location is perfect. Really near to haram, near to almost all places for food, pharmacy & shops.

Review 26:when i reached to Hotel i found that my booking got cancelled with out notifying me..i I checked before reaching to hotel about my booking confirmation and the answer was "YES" but when i reached i shocked that they given my booked room to other guest. I never expect this

Review 27:Not very clean especially the bathroom Beds and pillows were not confertable The walls are very thin You could hear the people in the next room very clearly

Review 28:Great location very near to the Haram The receptionists were friendly Fast check in and check out

Review 29:I don't know whether it is a culture or what, your representatives always take care of the locals more than the foreigners. I have been waiting to talk to your reception but when there was a local came, he left me waiting. this is so disturbing

Review 30:Location

Review 31:The rooms are very small especially being soon expensive. Worst than that is the parking. You can barely fine a place to unload your bags. You would expect with their prices you'd get free parking rather it was 15 SAR per hour. Never again.

Review 32:The location was excellent.

Review 33:Dishonesty in advertising. They claim to have a side haram view while in fact you have to place your cheek on the window glass to be able to see the haram! Also the hotel building was physically close to Al-masjid Al-Haram but it takes longer time to reach the haram than every nearby hotel. As the elevators get crowded during prayer times, and there is 2 hotels using the same elevators. So you wait for the left to reach your floor, and when it finally arrive, you find it full! Hence the prayer finishes while you are waiting. Also the room was tiny and full of old unnecessary furniture, all neighbours left the unneeded furniture in the corridor to save some space. Bad carpet smell and the dark red colour makes it even worse for the eyes especially if the room wasn't lighted enough. We therefore couldn't stay the full period that we reserved, so we checked out the next day and moved to Dar Al-Gufran hotel which is much better in everything. They don't claim that they have Haram view rooms, and the room was spacious and bright. We liked it and more importantly our kids loved it as well. So we will always book at Dar Al-Gufran every time we go to Mecca, yes the price was a bit higher but it certainly worth it.

Review 34:Nothing, every thing was bad, read below for mor info!

Review 35:Very tiny rooms, they said haram view but it was a joke, you have to place your cheek on the window glass to see the haram outter wall! Bad carpet smell.

Review 36:Absolutely nothing

Review 37:Yes location is physically close to Almasjid Alharam, yet it will take forever to get there. Due to the fact that there are two different hotels sharing the same elevators, so you wait 10 minutes to the elevator to reach your floor and when it finally arrive, its full. If you are lucky and found a place in the elevator, consider this, it will stop at every floor like a bus, collecting people from each floor until it reached ground. Consequently the prayer will be finished when you get to the haram. So be warned!

Review 38:Nothing

Review 39:No parking.. Small room for four peoples..little amount of soap&bathroom equipments

Review 40:The room clinealiness, the fast interaction from receptionist, the breakfast

Review 41:The occupant in the room before our own came with small children and they really disturbed our sleep in the hotel

Review 42:The Hotel is fantastic, the staff are sweet and the location is very good. We really enjoyed our stay

Review 43:- Staff was very non professional. I usually stay in darul ghufran they have very nice welcoming staff but here although it was not crowded but it looks they were giving me favor for allotting room... - Breakfast was not as per standard of 5 star.

Review 44:Location was the only best point.

Review 45:- Staff where no nice at all - To much delay on check in for 1 hour and half waiting time -no facilities at all - no body make the room for the hole stay - we have requested an Iron , and we get on the last night before check out , farther more they came to collected after 20 mints , We told them we still need it , and I will call you once we finish , but they came again after 30 mints requesting the iron again , the hotel is good for location that all. the hotel is not 5 stars it's hardly 3 stars

Review 46:-The Location of the Hotel is to close from the Masjid alharm and next to the market place

Review 47:phone receptionist is not friendly on phone while i was confirming about parking before check in ... Room furniture in not elegant and old .

Review 48:location of the hotel near kaaba ,rooms are clean , restaurant food in excellent and restaurant stuff are friendly .

Review 49:The check-in took so long even though it was in the middle of the night and it wasn't crowded. The cleaner entered my room while I was asleep. Moreover, the buffet wasn't as good as I expected.

Review 50:location and comfort

Review 51:1 - Room Carpet is old and smelly 2 - Elevators are always very occupied because limited elvators are going up to rooms...

Review 52:Breakfast was excellent Reception staff was excellent

Review 53:the space of rooms. They give the lowest class of rooms for booking.com customers. The hotel rooms need to refurbishment and maintenance.

Review 54:The sea food at iftar buffet.

Review 55:hotel online reservations system needs improvement. I got repeated calls informing that my credit card is defective when it was already charged after booking was confirmed.

Review 56:location of the hotel

Review 57:Hotel parking was very hard to get to and was extremely expensive. Parking charges were not mentioned at the time of booking. Room furniture had a thick layer of dust which didn't justify the high room rate I paid.

Review 58:Closeness to Haram

Review 59:Real evaluation is 2 star hotel not 5 star as they announce on net 'big difference bet view on net and reality , more cost no more benefit - one of reception stuff is conceited and the other one was nice .breakfast is not good and i will not go there later- i dont advise any to book there

Review 60:it is 2 star hotel

Review 61:Room service was bad because I asked them to bring adaptor for charger and promised me to come but they didn't, also cancelation is charged because hotel regulations.

Review 62:Convenient in general, location is great, breakfast is good

Review 63:Room Serves Poor indeed and all operator's always not in good behaviour. Bath room just for small child size. No one serve for room direction and way of any services.

Review 64:This hotel has its spies and cameras all over the hotel just to count the number of people who enter each room. The moment any guest comes to your room, the reception immediately calls to your room and tells you that you are not allowed to have more people in your room than your original reservation. The hotel staff embarrassed us in front of our guests and we had to escort our guests out of the hotel immediately.

Review 65:Unfortunately, based on my experience of staying in Royal Orchid Hotel, I could not find any good thing in this hotel. I will advise all the visitors never to book this greedy and frugal hotel.

Review 66:We lose a phon i the lopped and the monitor camera was there and they said they will check but there didn't come back to as Then next day we areleaving there said we will call u if we find anything Tell now 3day left no body call as

Review 67:Little worn out furniture, had couple of occasions of blocked toilet.

Review 68:Helpful staff responded to our issues and it was kind of them to send a complimentary fruit basket and confectionaries.

Review 69:Hotel rooms need to be refurbished. Reception staff (saudi) at check in was not courteous, 1st time i experienced this in so called 5 star hotel.

Review 70:proximity to Haram

Review 71:Poor customer service. Rooms are advertised as triple rooms/bed but are in fact 2 bed they add an extra small bed to a tiny room. Wifi was poor. Management is unwilling to solve problems or to listen to customer complains. I would not book again.

Review 72:They don't have their own car park nor do they have an arrangementwith the company in charge of the car park. The car parking is a verybig problem. The staff are very impolite and rude. They do need some serious training, especially in the restaurant. Try going for breakfast just a little bit before the end of the buffet.... They will almost kick you out. There is no one from the concierge to help when you arrive. You just have to figure it out all by yourself how to access the hotel lobby, and once you are there which is not that easy by the way due to all the road blocks and construction works (GOOGLE maps can't help you... There is no satellite signal in thetunnels). you have to find a solution for your car, find the hotel access from inside the shopping mall, either carry your bags during this process or leave them unattended in the middle of the street, or you can always leave your wife and children there and go look for some help. It's just pathetic...

Review 73:The place is quite close to theal haram. The food is good especially atbreakfast.

Review 74:I didnt like the dealing of reception as he give downroom un clean not areated no view ..you cant see except rubbish and no good light so you feel depressed once reach the room .no change bed sheets .the staff refuse to change and tell lies.really i will not go this hotel again.before i was going to it and like it but really it become bad and zamzam is better with the samè price

Review 75:This time i was too much angry from dealing and bad room

Review 76:Cleanliness:- i was staying i hotel for 3 days and they did not clean my room on 1 day . I contact room service, receptionist & house staff no help. very lazy people in cleaness.

Review 77:Breakfast. It's very good. Very comfortable to going back & fort to Haram.

Review 78:We booked 3 beds room but available facilities for 2. Breakfast is not up to the mark. Staff is not much efficient to assist guests and welcome at arrival.

Review 79:Easy access to Haram in couple of minutes. Hotel prayer hall is part of haram that become very easy to join 5 time prayers.

Review 80:Staff at reception r not very helpful unless u go to supervisor. My check in was at 2 and till 4 the room was not ready. Poor service.

Review 81:The location is good plus rims r ok

Review 82:Room were two small to set up bed for three adult , there are no window in a room, language issue, call hose keeping they don't show up unfriendly staff

Review 83:walking distance to holy place only

Review 84:I booked and paid for a Quad room. I was given a double room with TWO extra small beds dumped into it. disappointed by poor business ethics . ripping people off, misleading people

Review 85:Breakfast good

Review 86:Confusing to get to the reception the first time as there are many hotel receptions close to each other. Breakfast variety is good but comparable hotels have a slightly wider variety.

Review 87:Small touches such as free tea/coffee and fruit bowl. Very easily accessible. No need to change elevators/lifts unlike in Clock Tower complex. Can get from parking below to hotel lobby directly.

Review 88:Smell of food all over the hotel. Even in 20th floor rooms there was stale food smell and below average cleanliness. Room size was very small as they 4 persons in double bed room.

Review 89:Locatian is good.

Review 90:It doesn't qualify as a five star hotel. Our room was small for the number of beds. Side lamp electric socket was broken. Paint was peeling off. Bathroom had barely space to move.

Review 91:Breakfast buffet was good.

Review 92:Breakfast is 3stars not even 4 stars. Dishes and spoon and fork are not clean well to be used by customers.

Review 93:Location very nice. Brayer area in the hotel is great

Review 94:With this much price breakfast should have been included.

Review 95:Location, very close to the haram. The booked room was not immediately available but the manager alloted another room. The staff was very good. Room service was quick.

Review 96:communicating with the counter staff was difficult ( due to languge problem) Food could have more variety considering this is a 5 star hotel

Review 97:Very close to Harem. Plenty of lifts and no need to wait for the lifts even during peak rush hours

Review 98:Ask for double bed but given two singles. Hotel is a bit worned out and needed refurbishment. Wi-fi service needed improvement. Due to its popularity, unfortunately those wanting to choose this hotel will have to make early bookings for better bargains.

Review 99:Close to Haram. Staff at reception are helpfull and cooperative. Good value for money and sure choice for the next visit.

Review 100:Access to the hotel by Taxi, Specially check-in and check-out period. Room was not ready , even though we were at the hotel at 6PM, instead of 4PM. Breakfast could be more neutral.

Review 101:Very close to Haram Good beds Triple room was ample for 2 adults and 2 kids Lifts are excellent, You need very good lifts due to the sheer crowd .

Review 102:Hotel rang me a month in advance, to firm up booking, despite cancellation and refund policy as stated on website.

Review 103:Location close to mosque. Rooms are good size, we got adjoining bedrooms (although one is smaller than the other albeit same rates).

Review 104:Poor internet service esp during peak hour

Review 105:Exact location near the main clock tower n exactly under the large live screen. so easy to.return back to the hotel if i lost track after prayer from mosque

Review 106:Parking is not included in the rate. The hotel keep calling me every couple of days and asking and urguing to confirm my reservation or quit, which seams to be impolite ang aaginst our manners.

Review 107:The room for 4 people is a bit small and not that comfortable for 4 people. The breakfast have variety but little lack in taste.

Review 108:The staff is helpful. The location is excellent.

Review 109:our's was a triple room but it seemed that the room size was small and the third bed didn't fit in with the others. Moreover the cupboard was in broken condition.

Review 110:the variety of food items at breakfast were really good The sound system was impressive Ac was working properly throughout our stay

Review 111:House keeping was not as expectation , the room was dirty even after service , and the duty manager in check out wasn't that friendly

Review 112:The location is very close and the front desk duty manager was great and friendly in check in time

Review 113:Room very small and poorly lit for the price

Review 114:Excellent location and access to haram. The Safwah complex itself has very good facilities eg supermarket, shops, food court

Review 115:TV remote did noy have batteries. Bed sheets and towels were dirty and stained. Room was cramped carpet was not vaccum cleaned telephone was broken. Generally the room was run down windows were dirty. Room was published as side haram view but i culd bearly see the haram. Not happy for the price charged.other hotels in the vacinity have better rooms

Review 116:Close location

Review 117:The rooms are in a very bad condition, very bad aesthetics, ugly decor, broken or burnt furniture, and worst of all, I encountered a baby lizard in the washroom.Ewww......

Review 118:The breakfast was good and the restaurant staff is efficient. Secondly, location is walkable. Very slow check in, well this problem persist in most hotels in the kingdom.

Review 119:A bit claustrophobic, the window opens to other windows. Road to hotel closed during solat times, so plan to arrive or depart at other times. Many hotel towers in the same building but directions not clearly marked. Wi-fi is unsafe, so be careful logging in.

Review 120:Right in front of Haraam. Lots of elevators so minimal jam even during solat times. Excellent breakfast spread. Friendly staff eager to help.

Review 121:the bathroom was small and they just provided few soap and shampoo and we were 4 adults and there was two bed in the begining and it should be 4 beds as per our booking. the buffet was not outstanding.

Review 122:the beds were nice and comfort the wifi is good

Review 123:- Price for the 3bedded room is expensive. - THey used old type power socket (2-pin, old model). - Water not that hot that weekend

Review 124:- Location is superb. - The Safwah Mall is nice. - Supermarkets are nearby.

Review 125:Was not able to check for first rom utile up 7 pm, the second room was ready at 10pm, reservation staff and accurate in communicating the correct type of room as booked with Booking.com.

Review 126:close to Haram

Review 127:Didn't seem like a 5* hotel room, however it was defo a 5* location. Difficult for niqabis to eat as no segregation in restaurant and not allowed to officially take food to room.

Review 128:Very close to the actual masjid.

Review 129:When checking in, we were simply given the key card and left to find our way, although we had a senior citizen in a wheelchair with us. I didn't like how they push 2 extra beds into a 2 person room and call it a 4 person room. There was no place to sit and eat as a family. The bathroom was super small, furniture old and damaged, and water damage on walls. Absolutely unacceptable for the price paid for a 2 night stay.

Review 130:The hotel manager was helpful and polite when confronted about the condition of the room. Being able to print my boarding pass in the lobby was the only thing I liked about this hotel.

Review 131:Wifi was terrible, most of my stay was on door step just to get the wifi signal & browsing was very very slow!

Review 132:They got good resturant even its little busy!

Review 133:The furniture was old ,the room for two persons is small, the triple room is suitable for two , the bathroom is small , the price is high for this type of rooms , the laundry urgent service take 6 hours for washing and delivering your clothes

Review 134:The location, staff, service

Review 135:- employees in the front desk are not competent in dealing with costumers. - prices are high and taking advantages of costumers. - not clean carpet.

Review 136:- it's location close to haram - wifi free of charge - It's breakfast is the best of various

Review 137:The non availability of English channels in the rooms.

Review 138:The location of the hotel to the haram. The quality of the food and the courteous nature of the entire hotel staff

Review 139:Excellent and nearest Location to Grand Mosque Haram courtyard. Excellent management and supporting staff at reception and in corridors. Value for money is fully justified, actually they pamper every guest with best catering and comfort which will always tempt to only come and stay in this Hotel

Review 140:There is no single English Channel or other languages which make the rooms very dull and monotonous. The hotel is unfriendly to international travelers .

Review 141:It's closeness to the Holy Mosque.

Review 142:Breakfast was just ok. And shower curtain had a bad smell. rest all was ok.

Review 143:Location is very very close... infact its really walking distance to haram.
