Reviews for Oasis Guest House

Review 1:The confusion with the hotel booking on the hotels part. I received confirmation from booking.com with the correct dates (Sat-Sun), however, the hotel sent a confirmation of (Fri-Sat), which would've been a problem had i not paid attention. The hotel seemed certain that friday-Sat was correct, in spite of my confirmation, so booking.com helped me out.

Review 2:Friendliness of staff, convenience of location, free breakfast and quiet area

Review 3:What a FIND this was for us! The Oasis Guest House is a perfectly located, tastefully renovated Victorian brownstone. The rooms are cozy and clean, and the proprietors - Victor and Keith - were friendly, informative and helpful. The plentiful complimentary Continental breakfast was a great way to start the day. We'll be back!

Review 4:Oasis Guest House is a converted brownstone, so you get a flavor for the longstanding architecture of the area. The pictures are accurate to the size: the inexpensive room I got was small. Shared bathroom on each floor. For the owners, there's one thing you can do to hugely improve the room: lose those acrylic bedspreads. They're ugly, date the place as 1980s, are rough to the touch, and on first opening the door, immediately gave me a sense that I was staying at a dingy motel. This isn't a dingy place, so that choice is unfortunate. Shortly after arriving, I removed that top blanket thing and tucked it into a drawer. Huge improvement: the off-white blanket hidden underneath suddenly elevated the room.

Review 5:Oasis is an affordable option in an expensive city. Staff is friendly, they have a pleasant living room on the first floor where I met international visitors. It's a safe neighborhood, a block away from a pharmacy and a giant new Whole Foods natural grocery store.

Review 6:Location was great. A short walk to Fenway Park. Surrounded by Berklee Music and could hear and see students practicing. Also short walk to Prudential Center and Christian Science center and BSO.

Review 7:It's not clear when you book what a shared bathroom means. Also, beds were not comfortable. I would prefer to be able to adjust the temp in the room. We were very hot.

Review 8:The location was nice.

Review 9:Breakfast was good but lack of seats and tables

Review 10:Nice location, close to a direct bus to/from the airport Staff was very helpful Shared bathroom was cleaned several times a day

Review 11:Rooms are on the smaller side, but the guest house is comfortable nonetheless.

Review 12:Location was good for us- everything we wanted to see was in walking distance. For those less mobile or wishing to use the metro that was also close by. The staff were friendly and helpful and we enjoyed the breakfast.

Review 13:The location is excellent, easy to get to all the wonderful sites in Boston. Quiet side street location, off the beaten path, yet close to highway and the "T".. Attentive staff, friendly and accommodating.

Review 14:The staff was great. They took really good care of us. Breakfast was really relaxing and a good chance to meet other people staying in the building.

Review 15:Couldn't change temperature in room.

Review 16:Great value for the money. Continental breakfast had many choices and proximity to symphony hall was perfect (4 min walk!).

Review 17:A very quiet street in a very lively neighborhood! Close to everything yet cozy at night. Parking availability is a plus! Very friendly staff. Recommended!

Review 18:I hated the narrow, creaky staircase with a passion but it is what it is, haha.

Review 19:I liked the way the Oasis Guest House was located close by the Hynes Convention Center. Also, the Guest House was really cute.

Review 20:No elevator; no place for breakfast; must take your cup of tea and bread back to your room. Old fashion furniture; prices a little bit too high.

Review 21:staff very nice, very good location. comfrotable room (if you have your own bathroom/ toilets, as several rooms have no facilities included)

Review 22:The shower desperately needs updating. The water pressure was horrible, and the shower was teeny tiny, even for me, and I'm only 5'3, and wear a size 6. Also the room got very hot overnight, I would have appreciated being told how to regulate the temperature in the room.

Review 23:I found the staff kind and helpful. They directed me to a parking garage where I could park, because their parking was taken up by snow, and they gave me information on where to get dinner and how to get a cab to my job interview the next morning.

Review 24:The shared bathroom can be an inconvenient if you are in a hurry for shower to leave and there is someone using it, but for me it was not that bad because they have 1 per floor. The bathroom was always super clean. It was my first time in a hotel with shared bathroom and I don't regret. They don't have elevator, just a tight stairs, so careful if you have big baggages or any disability.

Review 25:I liked very much this hotel. The staff are great. They have breakfast and free WiFi. The wifi they offer is very good, different from other hotels that claim to have wifi but never work. The location is perfect. 3 or 4 minutes by foot from Prudential Center. 10 minutes from Haynes convention center and it's subway station. I recommend this hotel for sure.

Review 26:The shower size is a little tight in the private bathroom but manageable.

Review 27:The beauty of this location is that it's away from the excited noise of college students, travelers to Hynes Convention Center and heavy traffic. Yet, it's close enough to every convenience, serves a free and delicious breakfast and I always meet the most interesting travelers.

Review 28:This is a very nice place to stay in an expensive city like Boston. The city center is a bit far on foot (but the walk is nice). Many public transportations are available.

Review 29:The first evening we were really feeling the cold weather, and the central heating wasn't able to be adjusted. The night staff was unable to find us a space heater (it was soon rectified the next day), but did give us a fe extra blankets..Perhaps they should have a few extra heaters available (the one they had wa apparently in use by another guest)

Review 30:The staff were very helpful, the hotel had a cozy atmosphere, and was quiet, and clean.

Review 31:I enjoyed my short stay at the Oasis Guest House. The bedroom was not huge but it had everything I needed, the bed was comfortable and the free breakfast good. The person who was at the reception when I arrived and left (sorry I can't remember the name) was very kind and helpful. Although I was there for a night only, he offered to store my bags for free on a different day when I went back to Boston for a few hours. I would definitely recommend this guest house.

Review 32:non-movable shower, which did not fit for my almost-2-years-old son.

Review 33:The room was spacious. Very clean and cozy. Good breakfast. Wifi and the hot water was reliable. Staffs were very friendly and kind.

Review 34:no bedroom aircon (quiet but may be hot - aircon in common areas) Reception shuts 11pm

Review 35:Continental breakfast Parking available ($20/night) Good wifi (each device needed registering)

Review 36:Even though the price I paid was lower than what they could give for other dates, the place might be overpriced. Still I'm not too sure because I couldn't understand the averages for Boston during my stay.

Review 37:The staff were nice and helpful. Even though the lobby hall was very small, a sufficient breakfast was available. For my room was the only room on the ground floor, it was a bit strange to just open the door and get to where the lobby and reception are, I was quite in comfort during my stay.

Review 38:It little bit of noise from hall and outside windows. The light coming in the window from outside. A black out curtain would help for sure.

Review 39:The staff were excellent and the bed was super comfy.

Review 40:Super clean, comfortable beds, friendly and helpful staff, convenient and inexpensive on site parking. Walking distance to bars, restaurants and Fenway.

Review 41:The rooms are small and the parking is tight, but you fall out of bed and into America's most beloved ballpark. Can't beat this for the money.

Review 42:nowhere to hang clothes; cannot make long distance calls in an emergency( I misplaced my phone).

Review 43:comfortable bed; private space; very clean; near a balcony; not too noisy; close to everything; priced well below area hotels; nice continental breakfast; they will hold your luggage until you are ready to leave!

Review 44:The house is quite old and the walls are thin which means noise can travel easily. I got a corner room that faced the street but still the sound isolation wasn't great and I could easily hear my neighbours in the next room. The blankets could be more comfortable (not a big issue).

Review 45:The staff were friendly and helpful and they promptly accommodated my requests for a quieter room and extra blankets. The location is great, really close to Newbury street and a 20 minutes walk to City Centre. Free Wi-Fi was fast and reliable. Free breakfast was a nice bonus.

Review 73:Very friendly, great location.

Review 75:Excellent location, friendly personal, nice balcony.

Review 76:Room a little small. Though that's not a drama.

Review 84:Great location, great staff, great room!

Review 85:Lousy room and lousy bed.

Review 86:Great location.

Review 99:location, kindness of staff, breakfast

Review 102:only one shared bathroom / shower per floor.

Review 103:Staff super friendly - good location

Review 106:I like the breakfast And the room

Review 107:The room was small but fair for a two stars hotel!

Review 108:Very close to the university. Staff really courteous and friendly. Free internet everywhere

Review 109:The parking area kinda shady

Review 110:Tons of places within minutes by foot Fenway close by

Review 111:Bathroom down the hall Minuscule bedroom All very dated Very expensive for what was offered

Review 112:Air condition was a bit to strong and could not be regulated properly.

Review 113:- Breakfest - Very friendly and helpful stuff

Review 114:staffs are very nice. location is near by both bus and subway station. after your checking out, you can leave your luggage there for free.

Review 115:Friendly and helpful staff

Review 116:Something is seriously wrong with the plumbing: flushing the toilet causes the bathroom to shake as the water pump physically strains to refill. This can be heard coming from adjacent rooms as well. While eating breakfast on the first floor, the sound literally sounded like a jackhammer, While eating breakfast on the first floor, the sound literally sounded like a jackhammer, and could be heard by staff, who didn't seem concerned (so maybe that's normal?). Showers are extremely tight and I am short, small, and flexible person: for others it could be very uncomfortable, so be warned! The decor could use some work. Everything is clean, and seems to be going for an "old lady chic" look, but tends towards cluttered bric-a-brac. We were fine with the stairs, but for anyone who is not as mobile, ask for a room on the ground floor, as there isn't an elevator.

Review 117:Great location convenient to Boylston/Newbury Streets and a nice park on the Charles River, continental breakfast is included with stay, hotel is close to public transportation (the T green and orange lines). Staff was helpful in email communications. For Boston, cheaper than other hotels in the surrounding area. We were only in town for a couple of nights and this place was fine for a short stay.

Review 118:Flushing the toilet led to the whole room shaking. No joke! And shaking for about 20 seconds. The noise from the construction next door was terrible during the day.

Review 119:Great location

Review 120:Despite fact I called the week before to ensure I could check in at 2pm. I arrived st 2:10pm checked in then went to room. Housekeeping was STILL cleaning it! And were rude about! Every time I flushed the toilet it made a horrendous noise that lasted up to 5 minutes.
