Review 1：The owners are very friendly and make you feel 100% at home. The accommodations are very nice, very typicall and comfortable. There are nice gardens, lovely animals and a wonderful fireplace for the cold nights. I definitely recommend Monte Alerta.

Review 4：The house and pool are amazing, very peaceful and the staff is truly welcoming. Top rating to Sergios (son) kartcross and Sergios (father) train city. The room was extremelly clean and confortable, Sergio arranged us our favorite beer. Vitoria was the best nurse when we needed help. Wonderful experience.

Review 5：Unfortunately the beds in the rooms were as antique as the furniture and therefore uncomfortable and "noisy". The cleaning could have been better but maybe you should consider it as part of the charm.

Review 6：The place is impressive at first sight and they have really made a beautiful interior with the antique furniture combined with local items. The hosts are very kind and will help you as much as possible (free advice, tours, etc.). Great to have a swimming pool as it gets extremely hot in the summer.

Review 7：Very friendly family run business. Ideally placed for the gastronomic delights of Monsaraz! It was thoughtful to provide shaded parking in high summer.

Review 8：Wonder whether there could be an honesty bar. You have to look for the hosts to get a drink. They stress they are happy to be contacted but we felt uncomfortable about it.

Review 10：Proprietários gentis e funcionários muito atenciosos. O monte onde a casa está inserida é particularmente bonito: tanto pela vegetação que o envolve como pelos animais que o monte alberga. Decoração convida ao relaxamento, sobretudo na zona da piscina (onde tem um bar onde podemos beber uns agradáveis gins). O pequeno almoço é fantástico (servem um bolo caseiro maravilhoso). O quarto é muito espaçoso e bem decorado. Além disto tudo, não podemos deixar de referir o spa, a sala de cinema (onde infelizmente não tivemos oportunidade de assistir a nenhum filme) e a espectacular maquete de comboios construída pelo proprietário. A voltar, sem dúvida nenhuma!!!!

Review 13：We liked everything about Monte Alerta. Owners were friendly and welcoming, made us feel like home right away. The room and bathroom were spacious and clean and the whole house is like a great musem that could take you more than an hour to explore in detail. Breakfast was great, a lot of different food and very tasty. I am sorry we couldn't stay here for more than a night to explore everything! A great plus is a free parking.

Review 14：Idyllic location - a converted farmstead-type property with ample space and good facilities, looking up to the medieval walls of Monsaraz on its hilltop; with Alqueva lake 5mins away in the other direction. Friendly family service with a professional attitude - nice people. We were there for biking - recommend taking the route Monsaraz-Mourão (M514)-Reguengos (N256)-then back to Monsaraz (on the other stretch of the M514) - a 60+ km ride but not strenuous (in that direction) and stunning scenery (best in spring colour).

Review 16：Everything! The spacious rooms, the delicious breakfast, the delightful owners -Vitoria, Sergio and their son Sergio who took us out on the karts. The garden, the pool, the comfy beds and the lovely dinner Vitoria cooked for us on our first night. Would love to go back sometime in the future for some stargazing...

Review 31：We were a family with two children (11 years) touring through Portugal and we stayed three days at Monte Alerta: a really lovely place! Great location, amazing food, lovely pool, spacious rooms, free wifi. And Vittoria , the owner, is very friendly, speaks very good English and a bit of Italian! Monte Alerta is also very close to Monsaraz, one of the most beautiful villages of the Alentejo, a must visit!

Review 32：We really enjoyed our stay at Monte Alerta. Sergio is an excellent hostand he prepared a superb meal for us on our arrival (try the lambcutlets). The pool is an added bonus and is beautifully located.It's worth checking out the cafe down by the lake - turn left out ofthe drive and head down for about a quarter of a mile.

Review 33：We have had a fantastic stay at Monte Alerta. The family were so welcoming and let us relax as we wished. They were also attentive when required. We had the best time ever on their Karts which is a new venture and a fabulous way to experience the local area. I cannot recommend it more highly and would urge anyone to stay there. I worried about my choice as there were so many to choose from in the area, but I was delighted and it was a pleasure to stay there. The food was simple and absolutely delicious. Thank you.
