Reviews for PavoReal Beach Resort Tulum
Review 1:as with other all-inclusive venues the meal is a little far off from being called tasty, but generally edible - strange enough as the whole hotel is packed with italians who know a thing or two about tasty food. the rooms are pretty run-down, very basic and take you back to the 80's. although if you stay on the beach all day and dine out and then come back home late you don't really notice it. hotel's overall score is 3 out of 5, especially for 350+ usd a night in a country where this money is a family's monthly budget.
Review 2:the beach is awesome! the sea is calm due to the hotel's position in the centre of a lagoon. the bottom is mostly sand, but there are unpleasant patches of stones. seaweed is not a a problem - cleaned up every morning. location is perfect for a beach holiday. almost all rooms have nice terraces overlooking the sea which is really nice.
Review 3:way overpriced. I thought it was "all inclusive" but I could only get wine at dinner, no champagne and the tequila was no where near top shelf. When I asked for a margarita to be made with Don Julio I was told I had to pay extra. absurd! I stayed at the Bahia Principe and paid 1/2 the price and had a lot more perks and benefits. But I must admit, the employees are hard workers and the best part of your hotel.
Review 4:the employees
Review 5:We were awakened early in the morning every day by loud blasting music at the pool, and a man yelling with a loudspeaker. This continued throughout the morning and also sometimes at night, along with intermittent jack-hammering. It was impossible to get any sort of rest. Also when we arrived, our room had been given away to another couple (we opened the door to find them in our room) - staff had given them the wrong room as well, and we had to wait another hour for the room to be changed (after waiting 2 hours before since our room was not ready). The stay was very unpleasant. Tried to speak to the manager but he was unavailable.
Review 6:Nice clean beach area (when loud music was not playing)
Review 7:Very bad value equation. The food was disgusting. It seems I was in the school cantine. Moreover, there were no healthy choices...everything was very heavy and caloric, not in line with the type of food you would expect in a Caribbean hotel. Wifi only free at lobby, can't believe they don't offer free wifi as most of the hotels in the area do.
Review 8:The beach was nice.
Review 9:The food was not that good. We got food poisoning on our last day (of two) from going to "the Mexican restaurant"
Review 10:The layout is great. Walk onto the beach from room
Review 11:The entertainment at night was sometimes a bit loud, but always finished by 23:30 - I expected it from other reviews so it didn't bother me
Review 12:smiling staff, always ready to entertain if you want or just let you relax. Brilliant location as there are very few people using large facilities. Good food.
Review 13:The food was just okay, and times to eat are limited (breakfast 7:30-9:30am only, lunch 12:30-2:30pm only, and dinner 7:30-9:30pm). There are light snacks during the in-between times, but not being able to have a late lunch or early happy hour on vacation was a bit surprising.
Review 14:The property was beautiful! The beach was immaculate and the snorkeling was wonderful. The staff was extremely friendly & it is a good overall value for the rate/night.
Review 15:A little further from Downtown Tulum than we'd hoped, and taxis are a little steep. Rent a car and it's the best spot in the area. 9:45 wake up call by the bar for "daily activities". Stay away from rooms 65-110 and you're golden.
Review 16:The staff could not have been more amazing. Friendly, courteous, accommodating. Carlos, Cesar, Marlan, everyone...great. Beach was far cleaner than the larger Tulum area - which is a ripoff and tourist trap for hipsters - and less crowded. All inclusive food wasn't great (like wedding food) but the cost of the stay was less expensive than most other places. Close to incredible cenotes and ruins, as well as restaurants.
Review 17:The only comment was the food - while adequate and again great staff, it was fairly bland with limited fresh options.
Review 18:Excellent staff! The resort is right on the beach - junior suites are literally steps away from the ocean.
Review 19:We loved everything, but If you like early nights request a room away from the bar, fun nights go until about 11pm by this area, they're lots of fun to attend, and we could sleep through them the nights we didn't attend, but light sleepers and tired folks might struggle!
Review 20:Prior to attending, we had read some reviews on here about how everyone spoke Italian or Spanish. When we arrived, we were surprised by how minimal english there was however it didn't matter as everyone there, staff and customers alike tried so hard to speak english and chat to us. The people there were amazing, so friendly and kind, the staff were always so happy and positive. The visitors and staff were like family to us by the end of the trip. We met some amazing people and enjoyed ourselves so much. The food and drink was great, the pool and beach absolutely spotless and perfect, the weather was fab and the room was value for money, We enjoyed the activities and made some great friends there. The wifi was average but we loved switching off, it was enough to email and message, but unable to check social media which was bliss in this day and age! We read some reviews on here that complained about the language barrier, if you want people to speak fluent English, stay in America, or go to Cancun. This place is fun, friendly and relaxing. Perfect for anyone with a personality who is ready to relax and have some fun and let the little things go.
Review 21:The road to get in the hotel needs fixing
Review 22:The cleanest and best beach in the whole of Tulum. Every morning a team cleans all the seaweed leaving a pristine clean beach and sea. The food is excellent, staff is amazing and rooms are great. Will definitely come back here every time I'm in the area! TOP!
Review 23:This Hotel was absolutely gorgeous! Food was just great. Service was above and beyond, Facilities was also great. Rent a car from Playa-Del-Carmen or Cancun before arriving there. It's located on the road between Playa to Tulum. Amazing hotel - Best value for Money!
Review 24:It's a pity you have to pay for wifi in the room. They should include it already. You have wifi in the lobby, but it's always slow
Review 25:Perfect place to stay. Several polls, nice room, private beach, great buffet. I loved the fact that they take seriously protecting turtle nests done on the beach by turtles. Lovely area, perfect for resting and still able to go to visit all the cool places around. The buffet is amazing, great quality, and the price for all this was really good
Review 26:- that time of the year, beach is not gorgeous - free lobby internet is almost not existing, room coverage is paid and very bad as well
Review 27:+geat location just on the beach + turtle's, iguanas.... +entertainment
Review 28:The Internet there makes your life offline and this brought us to the previous century. Location is poor as the hotel is separated from almost everything outside its small territory. Rooms are small and beds are quite uncomfortable.
Review 29:We stayed in the hotel by mid-August and there were few people. So not busy, not noisy.
Review 30:buffet should not be out befor last client in restaurant. If time shows 12:30 to 2:30 it should mean available to eat until then
Review 31:Relaxed atmosphere, great set up to move around, great size of unit. Friendly housekeeping staff.
Review 32:They did not tell us about the seaweed issue and the smell was very bad... Also there are no transportation options aside from overpriced cab fares.
Review 33:The cold coconuts, the beachfront room
Review 34:The first thing I noticed when I walked out of my room onto the beach was an overwhelming smell which was indescribable and almost nauseating. I was told it was the seaweed on the beach. I have never in my life seen this much seaweed and I live in Florida. The second day, hotel workers were shoveling the seaweed which was almost a foot high and later that day it was almost gone and so was the smell. But the following day it was back and just as bad. I was told that this was "the season" for seaweed. This was probably the only bad thing about our stay...except the fact that there was no wifi in the rooms and the wifi in the lobby was very very very slow
Review 35:Our room was steps from the sand
Review 36:Seaweed was a bit of a problem, especially on windy days, but there was a team out there raking it up every morning.
Review 37:The staff was awesome - so friendly and helpful. The person who rated them badly was way off the mark. This person was most likely someone who had a poor rapport with people in general.
Review 38:Ocean had lots of seaweed. We felt bad for the guys cleaning the beach everyday. Don't know where it all came from, this much seaweed is not typical for Riviera Maya.
Review 39:Relaxing atmosphere, very personal, small property, food is great. Free wifi is slow, but good enough for checking e mails once in a while....and it is free in the lobby
Review 40:The only downside is that the food is bad and the drink options are slim. It is an all-inclusive but you are not getting quality drink or food. There is only one option for beer - Dos Equis, and cocktails at the beach bars are not good.
Review 41:The smallness of the hotel is very appealing. The rooms are right on the beach, so if you get a room on the bottom floor you can walk right out to the pool and beach. There is a beautiful view of the ocean. It was very convenient traveling with our 6 month old because we could easily access our room when we needed to.
Review 42:To say this place has terrible customer service is the understatement ofthe century. We were there for our honeymoon. Check in was long - we hadbooked for 2 conjoining rooms, they put us in one small room with aswarm of bugs in the tree right outside and no ocean view as we hadbooked. We were moved 3 times to get into a room comparable to what wepaid for, spending hours of our vacation time in back and forthdiscussions with the awful manager. They even gave us keys to a roomthat was occupied! We walked in and saw suit cases, and messy bed - whata liability!!! The place was like a fortress, we felt watched during theday - can't lay out and relax without at least 5 people from thehotel asking if you want a massage, or an activity or some other way totry to get your money...so we chose to leave daily and go off site torelax by the plethora of other beaches. The seaweed was dense so it wasnot even conducive to getting in the water. The alcohol was bottomshelf. The food times were really bad, like the breakfast ended by Ithink 9:30 A.M. - which is when we would ordinarily want to wake up. Ourwater didn't work for a couple of hours, sink or shower. The toiletin room above us leaked from ceiling to our bathroom. When we wanted tobe outside under the stars at night, security guards would putflashlights in our faces, making us feel like we could have no privacy, taking all romance out of the walks and essentially forcing us into theroom early. The bed broke and was sincerely one of the least comfortablebeds we've ever felt. We have stayed at hotels half the price, withfar superior customer service, and amenities. When venting to themanager about our experience and lack of hospitality (nothing done forour honeymoon - not one thing)...we were not offered anything until thelast night of our stay at which point we were offered a "luxurypackage" for our room.
Review 43:It was nice to have option for breakfast in the A.M. and to take snacksto go for the day. The pool and grounds were pretty.
Review 44:The buildings have wooden sticks strapped together for roofs and when it rains the water leaks through. The water/food at the resort must not have been sterile because my wife and I both got sick and were pretty miserable the whole trip. The food was almost all Mexican dishes with not much variety in American foods. The American foods that they did have were not very good. They claimed free wifi would be available at the resort and this turned out to be only free in the lobby and the speed of the Internet was probably about 1 Mbps so it was very slow! The beach wasn't kept clean consistently. There was often algae and weeds on the shoreline which made it hard to enjoy.
Review 45:The staff was very kind, even though they didn't speak English fluently.
Review 46:The bartender made great drinks and was super fast but he could be a lotfriendlier. Whenever I asked for a drink, he wouldn't even speak tome; he'd just fix my drink and hand it to me and act as if Ididn't exist. Wifi in the lobby was ok, but you have to pay to haveit in your room. Not outrageous, but definitely worth mentioning.
Review 47:The beach and grounds are gorgeous. The food was decent and the drinkswere strong.
Review 48:There were a group of activity specialists that coordinated games, dance lessons, water aerobics, karaoke etc.. throughout the day. This is a good opportunity for those who would like to participate, but most activities were broadcasted over a very loud PA and speaker system pointed directly at the hotel rooms. We were so excited to have a relaxing first evening on our balcony listening to the sound of the ocean, but instead we were tortured with horrible karaoke singers being blasted over the loudspeaker until 11pm. This was followed the next night with dance lessons until 11 and then again karaoke later in the week. There are some guests that enjoy these activities and we enjoyed some of them too, but you should also be able not be subject to a loud PA system throughout the day and evening until 11pm. There could be a great resort if they would be respectful of the other guests that are not taking dance lessons, singing karaoke or playing games. Simply play some music in the bar area, without the extremely loud and irritating PA system. They have a dance/show performance area at the rear of the resort. I would suggest that this is where people could go to participate in these activities without disturbing the other guests. Francesca could talk there until midnight on the PA system, without disturbing the guests. This would make the rating go from a 3 to a 5.
Review 49:The hotel location is fantastic on a beautiful stretch of beach and incredible views. The rooms are clean and in working order. The room fan was quite noisy and looked like a propeller ready to detach at any moment, but the AC worked. The front desk staff, bartenders and food staff were all very attentive and helpful. Freddy, did a great job at the bar and took care of us all week. Emanuel, Thank you for the great customer service and helping us obtain the room upgrade on the 2nd day. Overall, the food was good. We would have liked to have seen more traditional Mexican food available. Most of the dishes were more European and although acceptable, we had to venture outside the hotel to get good Mexican food. The security staff was friendly and available 24/7 anywhere on the property.
Review 50:the bar next to our pool was only open for a few hours a day and it was only open a few days of our stay. Had to walk to the other pool bar for a drink during the day. Limited openings times for the resturant.
Review 51:Linens need improvement, there was no mattress pad on bed, the towels were thin & stained. Also there was a problem with weeds on the beach. They had staff hand raking, only a very small area was weed free. Due to this we only swam once in the ocean from the resort. Also Staff needs to improve in notifying guests of what there is to do at the resort. We weren't aware of the free snorkel gear available. The Dive Shop man was wanted to sell us a snorkel trip in boat. He was only informative on paid activities. The Dive shop wasn't open/attended at times stated.
Review 52:Nice small resort with personal attention and wonderful staff. We loved all the food and proximity to beach, pools, restaurant, bar & office from our room.
Review 53:Service, checking in procedure, free wifi was designed to be so slow that most people paid for it, food wasn't very good - great presentation of food but not much else, particularly for the price.
Review 54:It was on the Caribbean, not much else going for it.
Review 55:The fan only had one setting which was extreme high and the aircon didn't work that well, free wifi in lobby was really slow and you had to pay to get wifi in your room
Review 56:It's a small resort but has everything there you need, great food and staff, scuba diving was amazing! Jose was an amazing instructor for my boyfriend and I, we went out on the reef and to 3 different cenotes and they were more than accomodating to us they made you feel at home.
Review 57:The bed was too hard and pillows uncomfortable. There also was an oder coming from the bathroom, which we solved by covering the shower drain with a towel.
Review 58:The staff, food, and property.
Review 59:The pools were beautiful, but while the bubble pool was perfect, the biggest pool was cloudy. The medium pool was pristine, and they were replacing the bar-side pool. I think all the pools will be perfect in another 1 or 2 months. This was a very small concern compared to the amazing time we spent there.
Review 60:The location, the rooms, the beach, the staff, the food, the small size, the attention to detail, and the staff again. They really work hard from dawn till very late to ensure a great experience for their guests.
Review 61:we expected more service attitude and helpfulness for a 4-star resort. For instance: - we wanted to go kayaking at 4.15 PM for 30 minutes (sunset was at 7.20 PM). But for some reason, the guy from the "Beach activities desk wouldn't" let us, because the last rental hour starts at 4 PM. I mean: You don't want to burn surself in the mexican midday sun, but are not allowed to enjoy this free service in the late afternoon? - the tennis rackets were in a really bad shape (very old tape and the other one with no tape). bring your own rackets. - we wanted to stay one more night and asked for this 2 days before. First they said it's no problem and the day before they said we have to change room. Last but not least: The first 20 meters of sea were full of seaweed (depending on season)
Review 62:- We had cheap price for the all inclusive offer at the end of april - the food was good and I could even order a birthday cake for my girlfriend (for a additional payment) - nice beach with enough sunchairs - in the restaurant nice service staff
Review 63:-No free wifi except in the Lobby which barely worked - Restaurant only open short hours, so if you get hungry there is nowhere to eat (unacceptable for all inclusive meals) -Family Room we booked was described as sleeping 6ppl, but only featured 2 double beds, even after a special request was made through booking website prior to arrival - Staff not welcoming - Local calls were charged at $1.00 USD per minute which is outrageous -Wasn't allowed to go into restaurant outside of opening hours to fill up my water bottle when there were staff inside
Review 64:Cleanish rooms
Review 65:Beach looks great in photos but lots of sea-weeds when we were there (April) Pool-side activities indifferent for us.
Review 66:Great location near Tulum town and ruins Good value for money Food quality and variety were good for an all inclusive Helpful staff Clean
Review 67:The Mexican restaurant experience was not authentic and the singers were rather off key. There was no explanation of what foods we were eating or any choice of main course.
Review 68:we liked the situation, the relaxed atmosphere and the staff who were very helpful and welcoming.
Review 69:Our room was booked thru' booking.com as a "standard" Room with a King size bed. It had a king size bed but it was the type of room usually listed as "Studio". There was a stool but no room for anything else. The seat on the balcony is really just a bench with cushions. Not a comfortable seat anywhere- we both had sore backs and were glad to move on. Connecting door is single and noisy. not even a door-stop on it. (take duct tape!!)
Review 70:Everything except the room Outdoor amphitheatre I great idea. Great entertainment and not too noisy. Beach is fab. Always space - pull a couple of lounges under the palms if no palapas free. Friendly staff. Just don't book room 108 or any other at the back.
Review 71:the wifi was terrible. Its quite far away from Tulum town. The cocktails weren't very nice.
Review 72:The best thing about it was the food. Lots of good options. But breakfast was only till 9.30am which is too early I think, When you're on holiday you want to sleep in
Review 73:The quality of the food a poor. The only Hotel needs a make up, it is dated! The food quality and choice is poor! The only choice was buffet, after several days of the same kind of foods, it was enough! tried to reserve at the only Mexican restaurant, to be told that it was closed during Easter ... tried to reserve for another day, however the food manager, Antonio, could not even tell me that it would be opened at all.
Review 74:Mexican staff were friendly, helpful and provided good service.
Review 75:Is a long way from Tulum so requires some form of additional transport or a lot of cab rides. Food was good however the all inclusive drinks (cocktails) very average. For younger age I would definitely stay elsewhere. The all inclusive was a factor when deciding to stay but in the end not really worth it as we always wanted to be in the nicer areas of Tulum and it was too far travelling back and forth to the hotel to take advantage of the included meals.
Review 76:we had a terrible time with one man in the reception staff. Rude to us both checking in and checking out. I can't enough how rude and NOT customer focused he was, other staff were fine.
Review 77:the location is fabulous, the food is great and generous with the drinks. A great resort
Review 78:Not friendly for english only speakers. Food is very European. Example: no cream just powdered, only unsalted butter and very little meat.
Review 79:The location was wonderful- Value is there!
Review 80:Drinks were horrible and weak. The beer was tap and only one flavor. We ended up buying our own booze and bringing it there ( which sucks and you shouldn't have to do).
Review 81:Good deal for all inclusive. Most comfortable bed I have ever had I Mexico.
Review 82:Not enough variety in meals. Alcohol selection limited Small drink servings
Review 83:Friendly staff Good pools Good beach (unfortunately affected by seaweed washing ashore all along the coast)
Review 84:The free WiFi was extremely slow and was not always working. When it was working it could take many, many minutes to download emails that, at home, would have taken seconds. The food was plentiful and good, but nothing to get excited about.
Review 85:The resort is small and quiet, drawing mostly a European clientele. Our experience is that they tend to be quieter than Americans. For example, the dining room was quiet enough, even when full, to carry on a conversation across our table without having to shout.
Review 86:There was heaps of seaweed in the water so we didn't swim but the staff tried their hardest to clear it each day. Wifi is only free in the lobby and patchy at best, costs $25 US a day to get it in your room! Freddy another bartender would often close the bar early without doing a last call. You must make a reservation to eat in the Mexican restaurant but we weren't informed, luckily we made friends who asked us to join them.
Review 87:Excellent location and nearly all really friendly staff, especially Eddie the bartender, he whips up the best cocktails (ask for a 'Conga' or get his recommendation). Food is fantastic and varies from day to day, no boring tasteless food in sight!
Review 88:The food was terrible. Cleanliness of food suspiscious. Coffee was awful and burnt. After 2 of 8 days, we tried to eat every meal off property. Luckily, Tulum has extraordinary restaurants all around. Some even walking distance from Pavo.
Review 89:Location. Quietness. Peacefulness. Staff
Review 90:The bed was not very comfortable and the cocktails were a bit weak.
Review 91:Lovely stretch of white sand although it is on a very shallow reef, so not great for swimming but good for a snorkel or two.
Review 92:This is located about a 10 minute drive from Tulum proper and is ideal for anyone with a car. If you don't have a car, be prepared to take a taxi for 200 pesos to and from Tulum. Also, the free wifi is terrible, you're better off getting the paid wifi.
Review 93:A very relaxing all-inclusive hotel located 10 minutes from Tulum. The beach was better than the main Tulum beach, in my opinion, and the service was great.
Review 94:Beds are good size but very, very firm mattresses. Coarse sheets.
Review 95:Quiet location on beautiful safe beach. Pelicans, fish, iguanas. Lovely staff and best food in Mexico. Food is Italian not Mexican with fab salads, fish but not gigantic portions of red meet.
Review 96:Only one choice of wine. No sparkling wine. Strange bartender at the main bar that took forever and never smiled. Needs a lobby bar as well. Didn't like the short time periods in which to dine, and the food during the day at the pool was all breaded stuff which i can't eat. Also food was left out too long. Management didn't have a positive attitude, we couldn't call locally from our room and wifi didn't work and they wouldn't call local restaurants for us to enquire about things like live music. Not very helpful
Review 97:The pools and beach were beautiful. The value was good. Easy to get into town, walk 2 mins down the road and catch a collectivo for 20 pesos, 5 mins to town. Herry the pool baternder was great!
Review 98:We booked a triple room (for one adult and 2 kild 8 and 13 years old) and in fact the room was very small and was composed of 2 very small double beds It was impossible to sleep at 2 people in this king of bed !
Review 99:The beds are not completely comfortable and the water takes a while to heat up for a shower! Internet is slow if you do not purchase extra which we found worth it as international travelers.
Review 100:The food is phenomenal. The resort is intimate and well-kept. The all-inclusive is a good value. The setting is ideal. The staff are friendly and helpful and impressively multi-lingual!
Review 101:The food was a hit or miss, salty, dry or tasteless, thank god the salads and anti pasti were decent. The beds were a bit too hard for my back but not a deal breaker...
Review 102:Pavo Real was an excellent choice of resort. The location and facilities were perfect! The private beach, pools and view were beyond amazing! Our junior suit was spacious, clean and comfortable all in all! The staff was extremely helpful and kind! all in all a great place to come and relax.
Review 103:-Sound transfer between rooms: we tried to change rooms 3 times since the woman overhead (sometimes in high heels) slammed and stomped regularly. Front desk said no other room was available which seems unlikely since guests arrived and left daily. -food quality varied from day to day -should be better Mexican food: it's Mexico! -sheets (with no mattress cover) didn't fit bed and always came off
Review 104:Good value for a beach front all-inclusive room in a very pretty resort. Smaller size and easy layout. Lots of lounge chairs, happy, enthusiastic staff. Some food was good: some was NOT. Good red wine, coffee, bread, pasta, some salads. International mix of guests was interesting and fun
Review 105:There was a creepy security guard that made me feel uncomfortable. This was reported to reception. The bistro hours are silly and unreasonable for an all-inclusive resort. 7.30-9.30am breakfast - who wakes up that early on a holiday to eat?! One morning I got there in the nick of time just before 9.30 and they had packed away the food. I managed to get 2 pieces of bread on the toaster and by the time I turned around to get some jam, they packed up the rest of the bread so I couldn't get any more. The staff were not very accommodating in that way, even when asking for a drink outside of bistro hours, it was as though it was coming from their pocket and they weren't interesting in sharing a smile. Breakfast 7.30-9.30am Lunch 12.30-2.30pm Dinner 7.30-9.30pm For an all inclusive resort, I would expect food to be available at all times, particularly as Pavo Real isn't located near any shops. Sure you could go to the sports bar for a sandwich but that's besides the point.
Review 106:Cute little hutts all laid around the premises, clean rooms, the food was fairly decent and tasty compared to some other resorts in Mexico I stayed at, their Diving & Snorkelling Centre (forgot what it was called?) staff were lovely and helpful when booking tours. Martin in particular took me out for some kayaking and snorkelling and was an absolute pleasure.
Review 107:The food was truly horrible, frozen vegetables the alcohol drinks made with the cheapest of booze and the Italian staff and owner were very rude.
Review 108:The mexican staffers are fantastic!
Review 109:Superior rooms surround Sports Bar with music and noise from 0900-midnight.
Review 110:Beach location and quality. Food. Small hotel. "Eddie" bar tender. Great personality. Can bring together all nationalities.
Review 111:- Wifi needs improvement to accommodate everyone (bc it's free in public lobby and available for $ in room) - There was one security guard that was very lurkey / creepy!
Review 112:- Location to Tulum, Akumal, PDC, etc - Staff was nice and personable - Food was pretty good and we enjoyed all the different offerings - Our room (just a standard with garden view) was beyond our expectations for the deal we got ($180 for 1 night)! It has a partial sea view and huge balcony. - The layout of the property itself is chill and not overwhelming - Use of snorkelling equipment is free - The beach is very lovely and had plentiful lounge chairs, etc. - Easy private parking with security
Review 113:It was a bit uncomfortable to swim in the sea, because there was alot of seaweed. (difficult to blame the hotel for that, though).
Review 114:The staff was very nice, always smiling and greeting us. Diana in the reception was exceptional. So nice, and so serviceminded. The food was exceptionally good, lots of variation and beautifully presented. Good wine. Waiters very nice and efficient without any stress. Everything we asked for in this hotel was solved in a very nice and efficient manner. The place is beautifully built in a mexican style with bright colours. Beautiful beach. We had rooms right on the beach, they were very nice, also held in strong, mexican colours. We were there for Christmas, and the Christmas-celebration they had made was absolutely wonderful. We would go there again.
Review 115:Food was not up to same standard as previous year. In the buffet restaurant the fish was mostly overcooked, one night they served manky pigs trotters as a main!. After the first night i woke the next day with the runs and had to stay in my room for the next 4 hours. wall-fixed hair dryer in my room and many others are broken. room facilities are very limited. There is no ironing board or iron. Only shampoo was included, no shower gel. wifi is available in the rooms but at a price of $10/day! this is not acceptable for a modern all-inclusive hotel where this should clearly be included free. The only way to get internet is to use the free lobby wifi with the 40 other people all trying to use at the same time. The speed was shockingly slow. The feeling you get from this place is that its like butlins but in mexico with cheesey entertainment in the evenings.
Review 116:Beach facing room had great view. Dive centre on site was excellent and good value for money. The Chief instructor, pepe diepo is sensible, highly experienced yet great sense of humour.
Review 117:The PavoReal is a top notch resort with an extremely reasonable price. The resort itself is fairly small (not like other enormous resorts in the region), which allows for some nice quiet time and rest. As a solo traveller I was able to book at a pretty great rate for one person. The hotel is all inclusive, providing breakfast, lunch, and dinner as well as unlimited cocktails and beer from morning till night. The staff are very friendly and the food is quite good. Having a private beach access, pools, and use of Kayaks (included) is wonderful.
Review 118:Wifi could be available in the guest rooms. Works in the lobby. This is not a deal breaker though.
Review 119:The PavoReal is a great all inclusive resort which is very comfortable, clean, and has great facilities and friendly staff. It is a good value for the money. It's a nice place if you want to avoid huge crowds and have a quiet peaceful getaway yet still be close enough to the sites in Tulum and the Yucatan. It's about a 10 minute drive to the Tulum ruins and close proximity to sites like Coba and several cenotes. All around positive experience here.
Review 120:If you're looking for a cheap ClubMed kind of experience with only Italian and French speaking guests, then you're in the right place here! Quite unfriendly hotel staff! The Mexican dinner was a nightmare!
Review 121:The private beach is nice.
Review 122:The food was not great, which I had read in other reviews and sacrificed for location, but it made me sick. It was the only time on a 3 week trip. Room was very loud, I think I had an adjoining room and could hear everything in the room next to me.
Review 123:Location was perfect, easy to get to from the bus station in Tulum, entertainment staff very friendly and tried to get people involved in activities, wait staff also very nice, clean rooms. Nice place to relax after weeks of travel
Review 124:The buffet offers the same Italian food every day and we found small bugs crawling in the desserts twice, The food served in the Mexican restaurant is not good and most people complained about its quality. We had to change rooms twice due to plumbing problems. There was no mattress protector and the thin bed sheet was laid directly on the mattress. Noticed septic tank smell many times a day around the rooms. Only the very poor quality alcohol is included in the all inclusive, regular bar alcohol is charged. We could find lots of garbage from the hotel scattered around across the road from the hotel entrance.
Review 125:The beach was great There is a coral reef within swimming distance +-600 meters Cenotes within 10 minutes walk Rooms are very close to the beach. The staff is nice and polite.
Review 126:Very poor wi-fi for both my husband and I. The people who were European didn't seem to have any problem getting wifi????
Review 127:Friendliness of staff, cleanliness, activities, FOOD, Beach, very close to Tulum
Review 128:the option of vegetarian food is not a lot or without any inspiration. you can hear your neighbor quite loud because (room 61/62) had a connnection door!
Review 129:the place at the beach is amazing; the staff is really wonderful and kind;the rooms are clean and tidy! I had a great time and come back:) Thanks a lot!
Review 130:Location, must rent a car.
Review 131:swaying palms on a private beach, streching in a group to chill out music under the palms, free snorkling equip. free margaritas!!
Review 132:everythink is clean but last renovation is some years ago
Review 133:Great basic rooms with GREAT balcony nice pools and beach good food (repetitive after a week) nice drinks
Review 134:The resort caters mostly to Italians. The food is ok but not really that good. The rooms are nice and comfy and very close to the beach, which is also pretty nice.
Review 135:The music at night was so loud we couldn't sleep. The karaoke contest right outside our window until 11pm was not the peaceful vacation we were looking for. The full on concert the night before, that wasn't even near our room, but we could hear it very loud, forced us to check out early and find another hotel were we could sleep (even though we had prepaid the whole stay).
Review 136:The staff were very friendly and nice. The other guests a nice blend of Europeans and Americans (heavy on the French and Italians).
Review 137:The food was pretty terrible and lacked variety. Very little actualMexican food - mostly European. The staff on checkout were really weirdabout the towels, and wouldn't let me leave reception untilthey'd checked I hadn't stolen them. I hadn't even used themas I had brought my own. Don't use the "spa" for a massage- the site shows it as being outside and lovely! Instead it was in anempty hotel room and a bit weird.
Review 138:Amazing location. My room opened straight out onto the beach! Really offthe beaten track, so you'll ideally need a hire car to get anywhere.Really beautiful spot and very comfortable room. If you want a quietrelaxing stay in paradise, this is just the place for you.
Review 139:Food was hit or miss, nightly noise level if staying near pool or entertainment area, driveway to resort is full of potholes.
Review 140:Location, staff were so nice, beach is clean & beautiful, rooms were kept clean.
Review 141:Between main meals snacks not nice-mostly bread, croissants etc.should be more vegetables and fruits..)) and it's good to create a shuttle bus to the centre of Tulum-bus stop is far,in darkness at night, and taxi is crazy expensive((
Review 142:Dinner was brilliant, beach is beautiful, nature, staff is lovely
Review 143:The sea vas full of corals but it's just a tiny minus because the beach is open and you can choose any place to get into the water.
Review 144:We've got an amazing room with sea view, which means just several steps from the belcony was the sea!!!It was really fantastic. The food was very delicious and various. The staff was very pleasant and helpful!Everyone speaks English. The room was very clean and cute) Everything in the hotel is made to feel you comfortable, happy and relaxed!
