Reviews for Hotel Quinta da Marinha Resort

Review 1:The villa Is old and with zero commodities of a 5 star hotel (coffee, tea, newspaper,...) But The Price Is expensive for The service. The breakfast Is quite short for a 5star hotel.

Review 2:Using onyria spa and The fact That The villa was quite spacious

Review 3:The staff were always happy to help, no matter how small the request. A conscious effort was always met to meet the children's needs. Typically Portugal.....

Review 4:Stayed in villa. Card entance was faulty. Had to walk back and forth to lobby multiple times delaying plans. It was never fully rectified Pools beautiful, but kids access was restricted to specific (inconvenient) times

Review 5:Great location. Beautiful grounds.

Review 6:Bad organisation. I arranged pick up from airport (late evening) which did not arrive and phone number on reservation did not answer after 5.00 ( a fault also of Booking.com). As a result we had to take a taxi, and the driver got lost as the hotel is not so easy to locate and he also overcharged. Although the staff were apologetic they did not offer any compensation. Not good for a 5 star hotel. Breakfast also very expensive

Review 7:It was comfortable enough and in a pleasant location if you like golf.

Review 8:Quality and resort disgusting

Review 9:Place we stayed really bad standard and poor facilities need knocking down and building again don't book this again and made the same mistake we made you are not staying in the main hotel which is on booking ,com it is a another place in the resort which is a total sham

Review 10:The outdoor pool is very cold, but there is a good indoor one too. A bit irritating to have to log in to the WIFI every time you go back to the hotel. Minor complaints though.

Review 11:Very friendly staff, great breakfast, great facilities, nice big balcony, lovely room.

Review 12:Food and drink at the hotel is extremely expensive (7 euros for a glass of lemonade). It feels like they are taking advantage of the fact that there are no other shops within walking distance of the hotel. The pool is quite small. The gym consists of 3 cardio machines in the middle of an atrium surrounded by bedrooms. The hotel in general lacks atmosphere. We were given a twin room despite requesting a double.

Review 13:Friendly staff. Clean. Good breakfast

Review 14:Food while tasty was often cold or lukewarm for the breakfast and dinner buffets. This because warmed plates were not used. Sometimes whole room was not cleaned. Wifi sometimes did not work. adequately

Review 15:Lovely staff, attention to detail, warm welcome, very comfortable bed, very relaxing atmosphere, welcome wine very nice touch and the detox and immunity juices a nice touch also.

Review 16:Overall : great stay, great property. To nitpick i can mention these points: Bike rental charge is a bit high; there are only 2 shuttles per day to beach (at 12 and 5);food at restaurant is a bit pricey, but delicious; breakfast was sometimes a bit crowded ( no coffee for 15,20 minutes as there were not enough staff, or too many customers; queue of people waiting to enter the breakfast area). Some staff were not sure what to do sometimes when it got quiet ( we had 3 staff constantly around us at small restaurant one evening). Some days it was busy at the beach, lot of kids and screaming, other days it was almost empty.

Review 17:Wifi was great, beds were big and comfortable, 3 pools, restaurant on site was very good

Review 18:it is a little bit far from beach and from city, room terrace was quite wet and didnt had privacy, no kids club, I would recommend to have it, noise from pool is a little bit disturbing in early morning

Review 19:the view from the room, the pool, the atmosphere around the bar, bed was huge and soft

Review 20:'gym' and spa very poorly maintained-only a few machines- not all working- water machine empty- no cups- pool area decking mouldy- skylight cracked- shower dirty- steam room not working day one and two sauna not working day two- nothing else there to use carpets everywhere stained, shabby public areas- really should be better for the price- we had come from a vastly superior hotel in lisbon which was a similar price but different league for cleanliness and facilities

Review 21:its a pleasant quite location

Review 22:We were upgraded to newest villa of Onyria Hotel & Golf Resort ; great design, very comfortable villa, genuinely caring staff. F&B great too - quiet garden and pool, relaxing spa - just a great retreat for a few days! we loved it!

Review 23:Kræver bil eller taxa. Villaen var ret mørk, og på terrasse og altan var der hverken spisebord eller liggestole.

Review 24:God morgenmad. Masser af plads i villa. Gode senge og veludstyret køkken. Kort vej til udflugt i Sintra.

Review 25:The service in the bar and on the terrace was very slow.

Review 26:The rooms were lovely with a balcony overlooking the terrace. Wheelchair access was good. The food was great, especially the seafood restaurant by the sea - superb

Review 27:i would of liked to have tea and coffee making facilities in the room.

Review 28:The lovely surroundings of the golf course, the swimming pools indoor and out . Room was spacious and the bed was huge and comfortable.

Review 29:It is a golf hotel but a long way to the first tee, which is actually next to the sister hotel. Also a fairly long trip to the town of Cascais.

Review 30:Good sized rooms, secure parking, helpful staff. A very nice stay!

Review 31:villas seemed repurposed, but perfect for families with young children. Spacious, private, and cozy. There was a yard for my children to play in and kitchen for washing baby bottles. For couples and families with young adults I would recommend the hotel, new, contemporary and luxurious.

Review 32:Initially in the self-catering properties, which are spacious but in desperate need of refurbishment. These I'm afraid are not 5 star. The resort is too isolated from the town for our tastes.

Review 33:The comfort of the property and rooms is wonderful. The staff are very friendly and helpful. It was a very peaceful and restful stay.

Review 34:First of all Cascais is a beautiful city, with magnificient views on the Ocean. Now the hotel itself is really nice. We stayed in a very comfortable villa. It is close to the ocean and close to the city centre - approximately 15 minutes away by bike which you can rent at the resort. The resort is luxurious and beautiful. There is a calm and relaxing atmosphere. I had a nice massage in the spa area, and was able to rest. The staff is always available - the reception is open 24/7. We loved it and will definitely come back!

Review 35:The indoor pool is small and the spa can only be used at certain times with children which was a bit limiting. The golf villas are not up to the given five star rating but the hotel is very much so.

Review 36:This resort is a group of hotels. The Onyria is the newest edition boutique hotel and is very special. Very modern and unique. Friendly staff. Great luxurious Spa. We had booked a golf villa first but were upgraded to the main hotel rooms which were considerably better.

Review 37:The location - if you want to visit Cascais you'll need a car. Over-priced food. The frequent absence of employers to deliver towels by the pool side.

Review 38:Friendly and helpful staff. Very nice breakfast. Good value for money.

Review 39:Directions are very confusing. we spent hours fighting the dead ends and close roads of the horse community that google maps brought us to, finally we found hotel just to realize we need to drive again to another hotel to check in... Really annoying. Poor attention to detail, no hairdryer in a pool changing room? 5 start hotel? Come on! Breakfast has a lot of room for improvement, way too basic for 5 star, more like basic 3 star breakfast. Old hotel and vilas are out of standards, new hotel and vilas are nice and you must ask for new only!

Review 40:It's hard to rate this "hotel" because the resort is really big and consists of 2 hotels and many villas. one hotel is extremely old and should be avoided and another is fair new and nice! same issue with villas. Some villas look really new and modern while others seem like 50+ years old and falling apart. I did not know so i was put in an old one of course.. When booking make sure to book new hotel and new villas!

Review 41:Fairly expensive starting with a room rate down to a coffee in a bar. It is a 4star hotel, definitely not a 5 star while the prices would suggest so. Had a terrible matrass, took them two days to replace it, no compensation was offered. I had to go 3 times to the reception with my request.

Review 42:Nice style of the hotel, lovely pool area with views over the golf course. Big underground parking for free. Wifi is for free in the lobby area and good breakfast.

Review 43:For us there was nothing we could complain about!

Review 44:Fantastic hotel, great staff, pure relaxation the moment you arrive. One also has the benefit of being able to use full facilities of the 5 star sister hotel Onyria on the resort grounds for pools, spa restaurants etc. The resort is in the hills approx 5 mins drive from Cascais, so while the beach isn't close by it can be reached by taxi in 5 mins (6 euro max) or complimentary hotel shuttle in afternoons. Staff are more than accommodating to arrange dinners and trips out, though you may barely want to leave the resort!

Review 45:not a 5* room no thorough cleaning (we stayed 9 nights) Staff is not active, took for ever to help us pool bar was closed, the pool was packed

Review 46:breakfast pool golf

Review 47:Needs refurbishing. Wifi cut off the day of departure, no access without paying. Poor breakfast, hot water not available for tea at 10 am, coffee machine broken when not empty. Same price as Miragem Cascais ten time better. Have not tested the restaurants.

Review 48:Nothing special to mention

Review 49:A wonderful hotel, superb, friendly, professional, happy staff. Great transfer service to the airport. Food of a high quality, excellent meals provided by restaurant and bar and generous room service breakfast. Surroundings are stunning, so tranquil. Loved our stay, thank you

Review 50:Thought that the meals and drinks were too expensive , 35€ buffet and 5€ for a coffee.Made worst by no coffee facility and not usual bottle of water in room . 3.5€ a bottle in mini bar

Review 51:Great facilities and very helpful staff when you asked .

Review 52:Dated room / bathroom. Meals/drinks vastly overpriced, visit other local 5star to see what I mean.

Review 53:Liked overall feel of hotel. Liked idea of other venues.. Restaurant.. Swimming pool etc.. Staff super!

Review 54:The key cards broke down four times during our stay, which was solved fast, but it still was a nuisance. The pool service and bar service during lunch hours is non existent or very slow for a five star hotel.

Review 55:Lovely breakfast, beautiful rooms with views over the golf course, good layout of the room and bathroom, relaxed atmosphere, nice indoor spa and good treatments, great value buffet. The golf course is well kept and has beautiful ocean views and is good value compared to surrounding courses.

Review 56:Wifi outside of free wifi zone (bar area) expensive & food/drinks at hotel quite expensive, however there are plenty of restaurants and bars in Cascais.

Review 57:The hotel was great and in a good location. Free transport to central Cascais. Staff all round lovely, very attentive and always happy to help. Plenty of parking on site which was free. Free wifi in bar area. Good selection at breakfast buffet.

Review 58:Perhaps more frequent shuttle services to Cascais town

Review 59:Staff courteous and relaxed. Very helpful and easy to talk to and professional at the same time.

Review 60:The food was average, the spa is below average.

Review 61:Beautiful location, nice and helpful staff.

Review 62:Every staff member was extremely friendly, helpful and professional we would definitely return.

Review 63:Nothing

Review 64:Tranquil

Review 65:None

Review 66:Great staff. All seemed willing to go the extra mile.

Review 67:Slightly outdated pool/fitness facilities

Review 68:World class golf course Beautiful nature Comfortable rooms Convenient location Very friendly staff

Review 69:Smart and comfortable resort hotel, very friendly and helpful staff, good facilities including indoor and outdoor pools, pleasant location

Review 70:Excellent location, wonderful landscape, everything was ok

Review 71:Nothing really

Review 72:Very helpful and friendly staff - couldn't do enough

Review 73:Cleaning service.

Review 74:Big room and bathroom Hotel services Free parking Close to the beach

Review 75:The Wi-Fi signal was intermittent

Review 76:Overall appeareance and facilities were very good

Review 77:Without a car it is difficult to escape. Bikes are available but a a dissuasive fee

Review 78:This is a beautiful resort, perfect for golf passionates.

Review 79:Service seemed lacking and the hotel lacked atmosphere and character.

Review 80:Nice evening meal, ample underground parking. Good rooms.

Review 81:Far away from the beach but they can provide a shuttle for you

Review 82:Sweet and very relaxing place

Review 83:Breakfast was not great

Review 84:Very relaxing hotel and the girls in the kids club very friendly.

Review 85:the buffet for dinner

Review 86:the room and the location

Review 87:Marvellous staff, great facilities

Review 88:Hospitality of the staff and luxury of the property

Review 89:The location and the easy access to Cascais by taxi or bike. The staff

Review 90:Besides the hotel, facilities and location being amazing the staff are possibly the best I have ever come across.

Review 91:Excellent resort great golf course

Review 92:Room, food, service.

Review 93:The vila, the spa and the location

Review 94:Prices of drinks etc - once you're in the hotel, you pay their prices!

Review 95:Staff friendliness, cleanliness, peace and quiet

Review 96:close to Cuincho parking

Review 97:Have stayed many times . . . very reliable and overlooks the golf course.

Review 98:To play on golf course you need proper golf shoes, no runners. Shame.

Review 99:Peace, Tranquility and excellent service

Review 100:food

Review 101:wonderful swimming pool

Review 102:A little expensive for ancillaries - casual eating, coffee, beer etc

Review 103:Good food and very pleasant staff. Good facilities.

Review 104:Nothing Maybe more transits to cascais

Review 105:Everything, very comfortable room, great breakfast. Lovely pool area, staff are friendly and helpful

Review 106:The double bed was just two singles put together.

Review 107:Very friendly and helpful staff and great facilities.

Review 108:This is a minor irritant , but the young boy serving at the pool bar, needed some help as we had to wait for over 1 hour for our drinks on more than one occassion. I think the problem wa that there was limited stock at the pool bar and he needed to get assistance from the main hotel which took some time. 2 people working there would have been better.

Review 109:As we had one of the villas we were located next to the Hotel Onyria Marinha and were lucky to be able to use the main hotel for breakfast. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly.

Review 110:We enjoyed this hotel enormously - excellent staff and facilities. Rooms were comfortable, well appointed and good value; drinks and meals, while very good, a bit overpriced but we would certainly go again

Review 111:Room facilities (bad tap water, no complimentary bottled water, no coffee or tea equipment, disproportionate service fee, ...). It did spoil the whole experience!!

Review 112:Hotel Facilities and location

Review 113:Well located hotel, close to the golf course and Cascais. Good breakfast and also dinner. Nice employees, it worked out with the golf and tennis bookings we made through the reception.

Review 114:unfortunately it was not clear from the information provided at the time of the reservation that the Villas where totally separated from the Hotel complex and did not have room service. it would have been nice to have at least the possibility to make coffee/tea at the villa without having to go the the grocery shop.

Review 115:Very good setting and location. Very clean and reasonably priced.

Review 116:Excellent hotel, we used it as base to visit places like Sintra, Cascais and Estoril... And during the evening we were using the indoor swiming pool to be relaxed... We didnt play golf but the facilities are great. The staff is very friendly and supportive.

Review 117:Mini-bar prices are too expensive. Lack of tea/coffee and clothes ironing facilities in room. Snack bar and room service menus are limited.

Review 118:Excellent helpful staff, Good breakfasts, Nice outdoor pool, Clean room with complimentary WiFi, easy to use safe in room and very nice decor and athmosphere throughout the hotel.

Review 119:No coffee maker in the room Pool not heated, cold if you're used to heated pools or warm water Cheap, plastic, temperamental hair dryer in the bathroom 6 euro ride to town, not much to see that's walking distance away apart from other parts of the resort

Review 120:Great value compared to other 4 and 5 star hotels in the area Use of facilities of a sister hotel Free wifi in the bar area Friendly staff, great customer service Tastefully decorated and comfortable common facilities Beautiful Infinity pool 6 euro cab ride to town, nice spot to explore the area from Golf course

Review 121:some details on the cleanliness not corresponded with its five-star category

Review 122:A charming hotel located in a spectacular natural setting, where resting acquires its full meaning

Review 123:The service was not 5 stars. Staff were unorganized and unprofessfional. The service at the pool was terrible.. too long, forgot our orders, didn't have fresh water bottles (in AUGUST!). The service at reception was also poor. At checkout, I was told to go find my car in the garage where they had parked. Can you imagine a guest carrying his own bags looking for his car in a 5* hotel?! I asked for the receptionist to do so and I was told she couldn't because she was a woman... Terrible service at a great 5star premises.

Review 124:Premises are perfect. Perfect surroundings, great pool area with amazing view to the golf course, very nice rooms, with extra large comfortable bed. All very clean. A true 5 star class hotel. Very close to 2 great golf courses, 5 minutes away from Guincho.

Review 125:Golf course is nice but has a tight layout and a lot of water - Oitavos Dunes is a far better golf course. Restaurant is overpriced for the food on offer and breakfast buffet was not great despite having plenty of options.

Review 126:Room was spacious and hotel location is good but is an hours walk from the centre of Cascais. Staff are very friendly, helpful and fluent in several languages.

Review 127:nothing to reproche!

Review 128:The constant attention of the entire staff is awesome. More than available, the staff are pro-activif to amaze visitors. The space are spacious and gracious. The golf course against the hotel gives an air of harmony with nature, even for non-golfers, it's nice. Indoor and outdoor pools clean, great for those who go with children who will not dispense hot water to play in the late afternoon, while the parents relax in the SPA. Sauna and Turkish bath clean. The restaurant at the hotel five pines, was at the time a model bufet dinner, with dishes for different countries, on different nights, and background music. Also with exceptional service. The breakfast also very complete. Recommend either before 9:30 am for those who like less movement. Own car, or shuttle, is close to Cascais and Sintra. Access to other activities such as water sports. In short, fantastic experience, and repeats.

Review 129:Possibly need a little freshening in the bedrooms ,ours was a little tired but this would be a minor negative point

Review 130:Staff were exceptional and were there for you at all times
