Casa Pinto (Adults Only)

Casa Pinto (Adults Only) descritpion
This rustic hotel is in the historic town of Monsaraz and is decorated with antiques. The rooftop terrace provides views out over the plains surrounding the Alqueva Lake and Dam.
The theme of former Portuguese colonies is visible in all accommodations, which are furnished with oriental lanterns and hardwood floorboards. Each private bathroom has mosaic sinks or stone walls.
Homemade breakfast is served in the dining room or out on the small patio with its flowers. Several restaurants are a short walk from The Casa Pinto.
The rooftop terrace offers a romantic setting to watch the sunset into the hills of the Alentejo countryside. Guests can also enjoy a bottle of local wine in the lounge with its old paintings and lamps.
The ancient walled town of Reguengo de Mosaraz is just 3 miles from the property. Èvora is 28 miles away, and free parking is available nearby.

Reviews for Casa Pinto (Adults Only)
Review 1:Old house means tick walls with bad internet signal in the room. Good on the social areas though.
Review 2:The cozy room and location. Staff very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was very good.
Review 3:Nothing - 100% happy.
Review 4:This very small hotel (only 5 double rooms) has been beautifully decorated with great care - it is delightfull throughout! Great charm and comfort. Our group (4 couples) had 4 of the 5 rooms for the weekend and we all loved it. The room my wife & I had (Macao) was the smallest one and does not have a 'real' window, but it is so wonderfully decorated that the lack of an outside view is not noticed, all the other 4 rooms do have outside views, either of the church or countryside. Unfortunately due to the time of year the rooftop bar was closed but for the rest of the year it must be a wonderful place to spend an evening. The freindliest staff (the owners) could not have been more helpful, for a small fee they provided us with a packed lunch on Saturday which was so generous we could not eat it all. A wonderful base from which to explore the town and countryside. Can hardly wait for an excuse to return.
Review 5:Large shower but sink area very small and the quirky mirror was impractical. I caught my head on it every time i brushed my teeth!
Review 6:Excellent location. Good sized room, nicely decorated with a very comfortable bed.
Review 7:Smell of incense was overpowering and robes were perfumed. Unfriendly staff. Had to drive to find good restaurant.
Review 8:Room was small but comfortable. Monsaraz is beautiful and well worth the trip but would not stay in town.
Review 9:Nothing
Review 10:This bed and breakfast is just perfect. Every single detail has been thought of and immaculately presented. The proprietors take such great pride in what they do, and it shows. We had read the NYT piece about Alentejo featuring Casa Pinto but had not thought about it when booking our stay. After rereading the article, the author does Casa Pinto a disservice by calling it "three star". We absolutely had a five star experience.
Review 11:Everything! Fantastic place to visit and stay. Unfortunately, the current wonderful owners have sold to new owners who will have huge shoes to fill!
Review 12:I went to this place by mistake. I thought that it was in another location. However I was completely in love with the location inside old walls, and the surrounding landscape. The ambience is great, the hosts are very kind and nice, and you can feel that their target is to get you satisfied, and happy.
Review 13:This bed and breakfast is the most unique and beautiful we have ever seen. It is like a museum, antiques, beautiful paintings. The owner is very friendly. Breakfast was excellent. Well stocked honesty bar. The view from the rooftop deck is stunning. Visit Monsaraz and stay here. You will not regret it.
Review 14:Very elegant, original place! It is graceful and stylish in appearance and manner. Everything here is smartly designed and of high quality. If you love listening to classical music you would surely love it... We did!
Review 15:Such a delight staying here! The attention to detail of our room, the attentive staff, the lovely roof top deck- all contributed to a relaxing stay. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend to those who like an intimate b&b experience.
Review 16:Soundproofing was not the best between the rooms.
Review 17:The hosts were really friendly, all rooms are unique decorated, super clean and comfortable. Romantic rooftop terrace, with a wonferful view, nice music, candles everywhere. The breakfast was amazing.
Review 18:Nothing!
Review 19:The location right in the centre of Monsaraz. The ambiance, delightful decor and peaceful feel of Casa Pinto. The honesty bars, terrace with fantastic views and excellent breakfast with various fresh fruit every day.
Review 20:Room was dark with only one porthole window high up an alcove in the roof. The shower doors don't fit properly so the floor was flooded with every shower.
Review 21:Magical place. The roof terrace is fantastic for taking in the views and watching the sunset.
Review 22:It was almost impossible for us to leave after four nights (using it as s base in the region). We had to drag ourselves away!!!
Review 23:Everything. Itt is unique and breathtakingly beautiful. Loved our room and the terrace on top of the inn. Breakfast was lovely and the owner was helpful and friendly. Did I mention the views. It was peaceful, healing, and pure magic.
Review 24:The air conditioning was broken, so they put in an air conditioner temporarily that had to use an open window to function.
Review 25:The staff was so welcoming, and the location was right in the middle of town. As we arrived at 6:00 p.m., we could park right out in front until 11 a.m. the next morning
Review 26:This was far our most favourite place we stayed in Portugal. The hotel is beautifully decorated and has a great roof top terrace to enjoy a glass of wine at night and just take in the scenery. Our roo was very comfortable with a lovely bathroom. Those wishing a bit more room could enjoy the premier rooms which are stunning. Gilberto and his partner were fantastic hosts. We would highly recommend this hotel.
Review 27:Once we found the place, (I missed the sign), we were welcomed in and formalities quickly taken care of. After which we were given a tour of the property including the fantastic rooftop terrace. Initially we were shown one of the "smaller" guest rooms, the mistake was quickly rectified, but to be honest we could happily stayed in either room as they both were fun, funky and very comfy.
Review 28:The tiny hilltop town can be experienced in an afternoon, so have area trips planned.
Review 29:Recently redone hilltop inn in Portuguese wine country. Rooftop sun deck. Common spaces are tiny but rooms and baths are great. Waterfall showers, comfortable bed.
Review 30:No wifi in the room and, for some reason, I wasn't able to get wifi in the reception either, although I understand that wifi is available in the public areas
Review 31:Sitting on the terrace looking at the view and the beautifully decorated bedroom and bathroom
Review 32:Nice room, perfectly clean and lovely decorated. Great breakfast: gourmet local products, fresh orange juice from the trees outside... And, best of all - friendly owners that took care of everything we needed. Nothing more we could ask for!
Review 33:No parking facilities inside the historical village.
Review 34:Clean, confortable, friendly staff, great breakfast, lovely decoration, astonishing external sourroundings.
Review 35:The rooms were not very soundproof, but it's a bed and breakfast so that's to be expected ! During the off season the town is very quiet (good or bad depending on what you want.)
Review 36:From the arrival to the exit our stay was wonderful. The hotel is situated in a tiny village on top of a mountain. The views (from both the hotel balcony and in the village) are beautiful ... I've traveled a lot and the scenery is practically unmatched. The breakfast was great with fresh juice, fruits, breads, and cheeses. The staff was very friendly. The room was a bit small (Macau), but I think it is the cheapest of the rooms. It was still very good. I would definitely come back! (Plus the wine in the region is VERY GOOD!)
Review 37:Nothing...!
Review 38:Beautiful property. Excellent service. Great location. Really welcomed my dogs even offered us a bigger room free of charge. Highly recommended.

Review 40:The rooms are all individually designed with great attention to detail. The furniture and decorations are beautiful and make for a very special atmosphere. Our bathroom was particularly memorable: all in stone with a custom made "waterfall" shower. We will definitely stay here again if we come back.
Review 41:Room was a tad small, but I've paid couple times more for even smaller rooms in other parts of Europe.
Review 42:Beautifully decorated. Great breakfast(The two of us were the only ones in the hotel, but they laid out everything for us .) Comfortable bed. Great view from the terrace.
Review 43:Space takes us on an adventure in the history of Portugal. The Portuguese Empire and the old colonies, housed in one of the best Alentejo's scenarios - Monsaraz. Superb rehabilitation. Superb work on the details. If you want more than a bed and seeks a spatial experience, I advise this place.
Review 44:Nothing at all. Maybe tea making facilities in room.
Review 45:Fabulous stay as all others reviewed. Friendly and helpful staff. Many thanks to Monica for all her help. Prime location, just the very best of places to stay. We can't wait to return. Highly recommended.
Review 46:An alle Romantiker dieser Welt: Casa Pinto erwartet euch ! To all romantic people in this world: Casa Pinto is waiting for you ! This place is heavenly ... the decor superb ...
Review 47:Nothing.....there isn't anything not to like.
Review 48:The service, the view, the room, the atmosphere, the lovely breakfast, the area. It felt like a spa and even smelt like a spa. Loved this B&B. This location was one of the highlights of our trip.
Review 49:It might be tricky to navigate your car in and out of the village if you choose to park next to the hotel.
Review 50:The amazingly decorated room (we stayed in Dili); The great breakfast; The lovely terrace with a view; The overall ambience; The lovely staff; Plenty of parking space just outside the small historic village.
Review 51:Not very helpful with info for the region English not very well spoken Tried to charge us extra as we were leaving as they had a different rate to us Trying to get in touch with Booking.com about this Would recommend but confirm rates first
Review 52:Quirky rooms Great position
Review 53:Simply wonderful. Casa Pinto is a wonderful Hotel in the middle of a wonderful village, Monsaraz. The room was wel decorated, very clean, cozy and confortable with a big bed and a nice bathroom. The hotel has 5 rooms, we reserved the smallest one (Macao) but it was perfect. They served also a very good breakfast and they have a wonderfl terrace where you can drink some beverages or just relaxing with a wonderful landscape
Review 54:Wish that I knew how perfect this little village was and this inn beforewe came , I would have booked it for at least 2 to 3 nights !!
Review 55:Loved the location , inside the walls of the old city , right acrossfrom the church. This is the perfect little inn, spotless with littlesweet extras , the rooftop patio to see the sunset on , or read thereany part of the day , It is just like the pictures on th internet , butthe sweet smell of incense and the luscious breakfast jams imported fromSpain could not be known before arrival , loved it
Review 56:Excellent hotel right in the centre of the village. Very friendly welcome. Lots of little touches in the decoration to make it special and create a great ambience. Lovely roof top patio, great view, with honesty bar well priced. Our room was really well decorated with a lovely bathroom. Breakfast in the garden was super. Overall one of the best place we have stayed.
Review 57:The hotel keeper lady didnt speak english but we somehow understood each other so it wasnt a great problem...
Review 58:Beautiful, amazing surrunding. Not particularly cheap but worth the price. The hotel is right in the middle of the little town, next to the church. Fantastic view from the terrace. Our room wasnt very big but was comfortable. Really rich breakfast.
Review 59:Casa Pinto and it's stuff were amazing. We booked a room without realizing kids were not alowed. They were kind enough to let us stay by upgrading to a bigger room. All about Casa Pinto is fantastic, would recomend it any time, just make sure you dont take your kids :)
Review 60:- location - gorgeous balcony/terrace - convenient honour bars - quiet room (Macau), although lighting was dim as other reviewers mentioned - ample parking (take a right at the walls up the narrow/ steep ancient road to a less busy lot that is closer to Casa Pinto), Casa Pinto is directly across from the chapel.
Review 61:This hotel is in a lovely hilltop village. Monsaraz is picturesque (narrow streets, whitewashed houses), with few tourists, and a really peaceful feeling. Casa Pinto is lovely, and located right on the (tiny) main square. We particularly enjoyed the rooftop terrace, sipping wine and looking out over the Alentejo region.
Review 62:There were no negatives for us
Review 63:Charming B & B Not huge but adequate size Fabulous views Wonderful village setting Helpful staff Tasty Breakfast Parking outside the B & B after dark
Review 64:Great view, great atmosphere. Lovely spot. No issues with parking the car. Nice town - lovely restaurants (Xaver's is a good choice!). Very clean and comfortable room. Would definitely come back and would love to have stayed longer! A true gem.
Review 65:We stayed in the Morocco room and from the moment we entered this cool comfortable hotel we loved it - hotel decor, comfortable bed, amazing bathroom, the great breakfast alcove and the delicious breakfast to go with it. The staff were wonderful and we had some excellent meals in the village of Monsaraz - maximum stars from us.
