Reviews for Vila Bicuda Resort

Review 1:Not much, maybe solar heat the pools from September?

Review 2:Great spot for seeing Cascais, enjoying the surroundings, with a nice cosy setting with a great Pastellaria

Review 3:Just an ideal place to relax. Nice walk into Cascais, good base for Sintra. Excellent facilities, well stocked shop, good bakery/cafe, decent restaurant. Very clean and quiet.

Review 4:Loved the property but the smell of the cleaning supplies in the unitwas so strong that we thought we would have to switch properties. Itkept me up all night and we were all sneezing and coughing. We refusedcleaning for the next few days until we left.

Review 5:Everything was excellent - location is lovely, very convenient with all facilities. Staff is super attentive and took care of us outstandingly. It's our 6th or so holidays at Vila Bicuda and they never disappoint. Recently they added free wifi in the room which was 'cherry on the cake'

Review 6:Price, is not competitive when you look at longer stays. It's cheaper to rent a serviced Vila with pool just for your family. The play area for children has not been maintained in a long time, everything is broken or damaged in someway so parents have to have extra care there but it is still usable.

Review 7:A bit pricy but really nice place, we have staid in this place already 3 years in a row. I will probably seek another place next year but just because of the price.

Review 8:The accommodation was very nice but the location of our studio didn't match our expectation for a pretty expensive **** resort. Our studio had a nice little terrace where we could eat but it was too close to the street where -much to our surprise- there is quite a lot of traffic passing by during daytime. At night the place was very quiet though.

Review 9:The studio was very well equipped and decorated. We felt at home immediately. We could park our car right in front of the studio and there was a little shop at the resort where you could by basic things. If you have a car, Cascais beach is easily accessible. Great if you plan to visit Sintra and the Western part of the Lisboa peninsula.

Review 10:Just a mild grumble about kitchenware. Kitchen in appartment itself was fantastic, so a shame not to equip it better.

Review 11:Such a great resort in a beautiful place. Great facilties in a wonderful part of portugal. Lisbon easy train ride from Cascais. Sintra spectacular. Guincho beach imnpressive. Just everything you want. Daily cleaning and very helpful reception.

Review 12:Socalled agreement on sport, fitness, tennis etc. No agreement exists except the fact that you can spend time on whatever you like, and pay the standard price.

Review 13:Location , landscape, air and temperature

Review 14:The place is a bit far from the center or the beach. If you have a rental car, it is ok otherwise public transport is available but not very regularly. We booked a villa with an extra bed which was installed in the middle of the living room which was a bit weird. The villa's are not really made for more than 2 adults. Also difficult if you want the cook your own meals as there is nothing. You have to buy everything. It would be nice to have a small welcome package with the basic stuff such as oil, s/p,sugar, detergent, cleaning cloth, etc)

Review 15:The Villa was nice but already a little bit outdated (used). We enjoyed the terrass and the swimming pool facilities as well as the proximity of a bakery shop and small supermarket.

Review 16:The bed was too soft Pool water was very cold before noon

Review 17:Spacious villa with one bedroom Kitchen facilities Sacolinha bakery Supermarket Restaurant Large kid section of swilming pool

Review 18:Loved everything except the pillows...

Review 19:The gorgeous open green spaces! Having everything in one place: gardens, pool, restaurant, coffee shop, hairdresser, laundry, etc etc...and a golf course just accross the street.

Review 20:Vilas need an upgrade in decoration soon. On site restaurant service poor

Review 21:Vila Bicuda has a great location and great facilities for families. The cafe and shop are very useful. Cleaning staff very friendly.

Review 22:There was nothing we disliked.

Review 23:Apartment, Pool and Coffee Shop. Apartment despite being a Studio was very roomy and clean and comfortable with great facilities. Swimming Pools fantastic and on-site coffee shop with range of pastries to put inches on your waist.

Review 24:Beds are superhard, but this is overall in Portugal. Swimming pool is rather cold even on a hot summer day. I would give this 3 stars instead of 4.

Review 25:Very nice backery (pastelaria) present. Little 'mini mercado' easy for basic shopping. Nice restaurant as well. Houses are superclean and very spacious. Only €6 for a taxi ride to Cascais.

Review 26:Nice, clean apartments with all the basics at a compound situated a short drive away from the sea. It's a good place to stay if you have access to a car. (As the beach is a little to far away to walk). The best coffee with delicious bread and treats you find just at your doorstep and the Vila Bicuda's supermarket might not be the biggest but it has an excellent choice. I would not hesitate to recommend Vila Bicuda to my friends.

Review 27:The only things I didn’t like was poor soundproofing and musty smell in the room and wardrobe.

Review 28:This is not luxurious but very comfortable resort, that looks like small Portugal village. Cafeteria and minimarket serve ones main needs perfectly. Room very big and comfortable. Very comfortable bed with feather pillows (was important for me). Kitchen well equipped for cooking.

Review 29:You do need a car as resort is a distance form Cascais centre.

Review 30:A quiet resort. Beautiful pool area. An exceptional housekeeping team who keep accommodation and the resort immaculately clean.

Review 31:Nothing

Review 32:Room were very large and comfortable. Loved the fact that there was a great little café close to the room where we could have coffee and breakfast in the morning and also delicious pastries.

Review 33:The ONLY SMALL comment I have is that room smelled of mold. This is a problem in Portugal--I have it in my own home! But I smelled it immediatley when I walked in.

Review 34:The room was great! Lots of space annd VERY good value for money! Everything I needed was there---even a dishwasher! The staff was prepared for my late arrival, and attentive to my needs. I would definitely stay here again! Loved the availability of the pastry shop, hairdresser and restaurant.

Review 35:Extra beds provided for kids were not at all comfortable. Possibly those single beds are quite old as the wooden plank kept falling. My daughter slept on mattress in the floor, so not a big problem but Managment should think of better arrangement.

Review 36:We weren't in a group and booked 4 Villas. It was a wonderful experience as the villa is equipped with all the required facility and very good size for kids to play in the group.

Review 37:It is a way from Cascais so a car is needed. Other than this small thing there is nothing else that we didn't like

Review 38:Everything, this place was squeaky clean, the staff went the extra mile to help. It's modern and very comfortable. The pools are lovely. Coffee and cake in bakery was to die for. We were late into the evening arriving no problem for Vila Bicuda security were waiting for us with a big friendly smile. Superb !

Review 39:The complex has a wide range of amenities that complements the self-catering accommodation option. The rooms are large and comfortable with good wi-fi connectivity.

Review 40:Value for money. The villa is out of the town Cascais approx €6 in a taxi but still accommodation cheaper than in the town. The resort had a restaurant, coffee shop/bakery, supermarket, laundry and hairdresser. Pools were in good condition and large.

Review 41:Night light by bed disturbing partner

Review 42:location and green aria quiet comfortable the coffee shop with varied breakfast and delicious baked goods Very comfortable restaurant or delicious food

Review 43:Although I requested a quiet room (how many people ask for a noisy one?) mine was located next door to a children's nursery. This may not have been a problem, but the weather was poor and I found myself in my room at times when I might otherwise have been out and about.

Review 44:The apartment, sizeable, well equipped, comfortable and spotlessly clean. The pools and their immediate surroundings, again immaculate. Courteous and friendly staff.

Review 45:1) our toaster was broken and no one repair or change it (they clean the villa every day and ofcause saw it) 2) pillows were terrible! like they are from 19th century.

Review 46:location was great. not far from the city, by car 10 min. but fills like in a village it was amazing to go swimming in the erly morning and then to have breakfast in the garden

Review 47:Housekeeping team excellent, efficient & customer focused. They made my stay extra special with the gesture of a birthday gift & card. Excellent pool Safe environment for children to play Definitely a family resort and we loved it. Good location for beaches and nearby Cascais - recommend a hire car to get around.

Review 48:There isn individual heater that does not work well always, so sometimes it is difficult to take a shower. The wifi signal is very poor.

Review 49:The room was a studio with very well equiped kitchen, and large room and bathroom. Bed was large and comfortable. It has two pools, and the one we used was large and convenient. The resort has all you may need, a small but well provided supermarket, laundry service, and many other options.

Review 50:It is a little out of town, so you do need a car really.

Review 51:Great resort with large comfortable villas and a good pool area. The on-site bakery is superb, with great bread, cakes and snacks and very handy for feeding young children at all hours. The restaurant is pretty good, and it is very helpful having a shop and laundry on site. Great spot for young families.

Review 52:I missed the Gym. It would be nice if they had a gym room for guests.

Review 53:The pool is great! The Villa is spacious and the wifi is pretty good. Cleaners visited property daily.

Review 54:Spacious studio with much comfort.

Review 55:Room near restaurant, with lots of noise until after 1am

Review 56:Best hotel in Portugal. Well done to all

Review 57:On-site restaurant, spacious villa and friendly staff.

Review 58:Need for taxis to centre. Could improve on bar facilities

Review 59:Great attention to detail.

Review 60:excellent integration in landscape

Review 61:Would have been nice with a cloth and some washing up soap.

Review 62:Very warm atmosphere, with kindergarten, pool area, lots of trees and grass.

Review 63:* very well equipped and very clean kitchen * very reasonable pricing in backery and supermarket

Review 64:Friendly staff .

Review 65:To far from cascais, meant using taxis.Beds were a little on the soft side

Review 66:Peace and quiet. No organised activities

Review 67:A very spacious studio apartment excellent

Review 68:The staff were incredibly friendly and happy and the facilities were great. It was an amazing few days. Just perfect!

Review 69:Ants

Review 70:Size of room, kitchen, on site grocery store and bakery.

Review 71:Location and cleanliness of the Villa. Beautiful swimming pool. Friendly staff

Review 72:Ambience Staff Cleanliness

Review 73:Perfect for families!

Review 74:The gardens with the swimming pools

Review 75:Needs a bit of paint not close to ocean

Review 76:Privacy home away from home feeling spacious pool gardens terrace

Review 77:Two large walk in swimming pools, very nice and safe garden, supermarket, bakery, cleaning service, etc all inside the facilities, well located.

Review 78:Very big app. Clean. But you need a car to get to main places.

Review 79:Our condo appeared relatively nice and clean but with a bit of an odor. However, after the room deodorizer wore off there was an overwhelming, nauseating odor of mold and sewage downstairs. Since we were gone, site seeing until late, the front office was not able to help us. Consequently, we would definitely NOT stay at Vila Bicuda again.

Review 80:The hotel clerk, Rosa was very helpful. We liked the small restaurant on the property; it was very quaint and the food was surprisingly good.

Review 81:- we had a luxurious apartment close to the reception - very friendly and helpful staff - great facilities at resort: café, hairdresser, swimming pool (with large part for children), supermarket (not expensive), children playing area, good restaurant, etc etc - 10 min by car to Cascais and Guincho beach

Review 82:Generally a bit run down and could do with a facelift. Villa was very large - but furnishings and fittings were old. Location is OK - but it is not that close to the sea or town to walk (40 mins) - which does not make much difference if you have a car - but the location is nothing special.

Review 83:Staff friendly and helpful. Very quiet.

Review 84:Bicuda is 4 star not 5 and though the best type of 4 star villasetup, staff numbers and cosmopolitan same-as-you-like-it mentalityis encountered. No big deal if you know the distinction; tough forthe dazed and confused who'd do better at the Senhora da Guiahotel nearby.

Review 85:Individual room free wifi not shared from lobby, 40-120 meg speed test; All rooms with kitchen plus dishwasher and kitchenware; On sitesupermarket, inc cigarette outlet, plus quality bakery and midrangeeatery; Five euro by taxi to centre Cascais/rail station for thehalf hour two euro train to downtown Lisbon; Connected to malls and townalso by regular bus route etc.

Review 86:Not enough going on for my teenage girls but then we were there out of season. More restaurants, bars, cafes would have been good to visit within the resort.

Review 87:The smell of the towels and bedding, It wasn't washed properly.

Review 88:Excellent facilities, excellent equipment, lovely bathroom and living room. Staff were very helpful.

Review 89:Free WiFi is only available at the reception area, but not in the houses (there you have to pay for it).

Review 90:Friendly staff. Good location between Quinta da Marinha and Cascais (but you need a car).

Review 91:It was a 40 minute walk to Cascais town - I actually didn't mind this except during the start of evening

Review 92:The staff were friendly, approachable and helpful. The appartment was lovely and very luxurious to my standards. It was clean and comfortable and spacious.

Review 93:Ants on the kitchen surfaces as soon as any food was out. Cafe and shop shut at 8pm. Restaurant over priced. Lack of soundproofing between villas - could hear my neighbours in evenings.

Review 94:Friendly and helpful staff. Safe area, though a 45 minute walk from centre of Cascais. Lots of Art and museums to visit for free in Cascais, and beautiful architecture.

Review 95:Amazing spot! We were treated as very speacil clients, we used the market and cafe almost daily. Staff was so friendly, helped us with any questions, they also made recommedations for great tourist spots. Thank you.

Review 96:To stay just two nights is not recommendable, as you would not really use the kitchen and buy all the basics for cooking or breakfast such as coffee, salt pepper etc... There is nothing to do in case the weather is not summer and hot: no reception area or place to relax around the villas. Attention: The laundry service is a shop / not the use of washing machines. Same goes for all the shops/restaurants next to the villas - there are all independent service providers and have nothing to do with the Vila Bicudia. Bad mattresses!!

Review 97:Perfect for a stay of one week or more during summer, esp. with children.

Review 98:Kitchen was a little cramped, an open draw or open oven door obstructed access.

Review 99:We had a spacious one bed studio with terrace and plenty of storage in hall area. Short walk to lovely pool area. Good value for money.

Review 100:Our villa 8006 was right to the kindergarden. A bit noisy on the terrace only, with the closed door no noise in the room.

Review 101:Good location, spacious and clean room, comfortable and relax village. Very good cafe on the village territory. Free parking near the villa. Really hot water in the bathroom. Comfortable bed with extra pillow.

Review 102:We were lucky and liked everything: the welcome, check-in, appartment itself with alll necessary inside, the vila resort as a whole place, its location, its nice intra yard with table for a cafe and small nice bakery, Russian-speaking staff, pleasant treatment and communication, open for guests needs. Thank you. we enjoyed the stay

Review 103:- Only the pool was very cold - Need a car , but can be outdone by using cheap taxi service

Review 104:- Nice bit Apartment, do not expect state of the art though - Great location near Cascais - Relaxed environment and great for families - The bakery and the onsite restaurant are really very good and a very relaxed way of deciding between having your own breakfast or eating out etc - Very friendly staff

Review 105:There was no Wi-fi despite being advertised. The pool was not much fun for children - no slide or other features. There was nothing much to do for children - the play ground was aimed at very small children. the sports area was in disarray. the restaurant, while nice, was too formal for holiday meals. there were no loungers in the out door area of the house- just chairs.

Review 106:The accomodation was nice and very clean.

Review 107:There is nothing actually wrong with the accommodation but it could be anywhere in the world - it's a bit clinical. But if you are after comfortable and fairly characterless easy accommodation this is perfect.

Review 108:Clean and comfortable, good location for beach, city and Sintra. Very easy to stay in, nothing to dislike really.

Review 109:It was isolated and there were no pavements to walk into town. You really need a car. There were what looked like parks closeby but we actually could not walk there.

Review 110:Nice and quiet environment

Review 111:We stayed in a 2 bed rooms villa with swimming pool view. You have everything in the kitchen. We cooked the dinner and breakfast. A very good place for family and friends. Easyly drive to Lisbora, Sintra, and roca

Review 112:My darling spouse and myself love this cosy place! If we get another chance to visit Portugal and travel around by car we will try to stop there again!

Review 113:There were big spiders near the rooms, even some of them gatecrashed into our room. The rooms smelled musty. These are small details that are not part of a four stars hotel.

Review 114:The Bar/Restaurant it had set opening hours but opened and closed whenthey felt like it which is not good enough

Review 115:I liked that it had an on site bakery, villas where lovely

Review 116:Little far from town 5 euro taxi but this meant it quiet and relaxing.Never a problem getting taxis

Review 117:2 bedroom villa was perfect for us. Was Big and spacious. Comfortablebeds. Lost a pair of glasses and reception email to say they were foundand posted to me. Very honest. Bakery was great and laundry cheap. Wasgreat having up to date kitchen faculties to cook if needed and alsolots of cutlery. Great pool. Quiet dark rooms. Liked having a bath tobath our baby

Review 118:Well, I found it hard to find (we didnt have the gps with us), asthere werent many indications/directions how to get there and thestreets in Cascais can lead you anywhere if you make the wrong turn.Apart from that we enjoy our time there and we are looking forward togo back again.

Review 119:The rooms where very spacious as well the lay out of the apartment, allfacilities that we needed were there. The showers were very good incomparision to other place we have stayed before. I would definatelylooking forward to come back again.

Review 120:Excellent accomodation and facilities in accomodation. Swimming pool close to appartments. Shop and nice bakery/cafe on site. Recommendable!! (especially to families with young childeren)
