Reviews for Makkah Clock Royal Tower, A Fairmont Hotel
Review 1:Lighting bit too dim in room. Food bit bland at breakfast and not enough non-veg cooked dishes on offer - Darul Imaan offered Shwerma at breakfast!
Review 2:Spacious room, luxurious room and hotel in general. Lovely bathroom.
Review 3:No kitchen equipments such as plates spoons
Review 4:Every thing was perfect, the breakfast is amazing, the value of money, guest relations team & receptionists. I booked 2 exclusive haram suite each one has 2 bedrooms & large living room & 2 bathrooms Wonderful
Review 5:No proper signage in mall to locate the hotel elevators in ground floor. Other elevators are much confusing as no proper signage even in hotel lobby at M2 floor level. To increase reception staff as many people had to wait up to 20 to 30 minutes for their turn. To clean the outside glass of building as Haram pictures are not clear due to unclean outside glass facade. To improve breakfast variety & content is the same during my stay. To re-arrange furniture to have better Haram view from restaurant at M2 & M3 levels.
Review 6:I traveled with family of 2 children & found this hotel to be most suitable, comfortable, very clean, best view of Haram from "Signature Double Room".
Review 7:One has to take multiple elevators to move through the floors. Also, there are multiple receptions and not all floors/rooms are dealt with by each reception. It was inconvenient going from one reception to another one two levels above tugging luggage in an ihraam.
Review 8:The staff were very nice. We had booked a 4-bed room with partial haram view but were given a 2 room suite with 4 beds and partial haram view. There were two separate bathrooms. The room was clean and very comfortable. Breakfast was an excellent buffet with lots of choices.
Review 9:This time Staff at breakfast buffet seems to be unhappy and unhelpful at M2 one day we had breakfast at M3 there staff was excellent
Review 10:Excellent location
Review 11:Nothing
Review 12:Quick to check in, quick in check out... Facility is clean.. Location is just right... We took a room with Kabba view....amazing view...When calling 0 they pick up quickly and help immedietly... It has a mosque which is big and quite easy and quick to access ...Every things is just perfect.
Review 13:Too much time was taken during check in and the check in staff was also not cooperative. Breakfast was not having any Asian dishes in it.
Review 14:Location and facilities were excellent, Especially the prayer Area was outstanding. This is the Second Time i have stayed in Makkah clock tower and i will recommend this hotel to every one.
Review 15:Two steps to reach room, very slow elevators in the first step Check in is very slow, unlikely to get your room before five pm
Review 16:Location, breakfast, nice prayer area with Kaaba view Upgraded room furniture
Review 17:-The check-in must be at 5 O'clock or later -They took long time to bring our luggage to the room -There is no sound insulation between the rooms -Bed-sheets were not changed
Review 18:-Location -Room (Kaaba View) -Concierge -SPA -There is a pryer floor where you can pray with Imam
Review 19:Bit expensive.
Review 20:It's a great convinience location. Courteous staff. Speedy check in out. Awesome decor! What a breakfast!!!! Inshallah we be staying again.
Review 21:Slow reception on arrival Slow response to requests of crib It was not clarified on booking that extra beds are charged Water leak on to the bathroom Having to change elevators when going to Haram No toothpaste/ brush
Review 22:Location Variety of food on brkfast
Review 23:Did not give the city view.size of the room was not correct. Did not get duble bed . Too much corwded at the elevator . Can not get the house keeping i asked 2 time did not clean the room.request booking to take action other wise i will not make my reservation throught booking .com
Review 24:Clean. And good staff
Review 25:The breakfast buffet is poor...and the tables are not clean.
Review 26:I lIke the hotel!!The entire decoration is suitable for the eyes!!!The rooms are spacious and clean.
Review 27:It took them almost 4 hours to bring the baby crib and another two hours for the pillow. The water boiler wasn't working and I don't remember how many times I called asking them to replace it but that never happened till we left the hotel.
Review 28:It is not our first time staying here and won't be the last. Fairmont is always our first choice every time we visit Makkah.
Review 29:They just need to pay more attention to small details. The kitchen and bathroom fittings need to be fixed as some are loose and might require change. The prayer mat in the room wasn't very clean. The breakfast is good but not excellent. A bit of effort on that side is welcome.
Review 30:Everything is awesome. The hotel is luxurious and the service is great. The location is the main selling point of the hotel but the use of different lifts to reach the Haram wasn't really the best thing.
Review 31:Absence of car parking is a shame! You can't pay high room rate and you struggle to park your car and drop it somewhere Kilometers away specially when you have kids and old people. This should have been planned well in advance. This was very disappointing!
Review 32:Room design, furniture, lobby atmosphere, excellent breakfast, stunning view, the mosque at S2 level!
Review 33:The restaurant staff, food, and prices are all unsatisfactory. The elevators seemed to have minds of their own.
Review 34:Great check-in, housekeeping, and checkout.
Review 35:I didn't like the situation where I had to call severally before my room is cleaned. And response to requests is not attended promptly.
Review 36:The facilities in the hotel
Review 37:I booked hotel 6 months in advance but the Arab on reception did not let me check in before 4PM as I arrived few hours early
Review 38:Everything excluding checking in
Review 39:- the stove does not work + there is no microwave. - located at the furthest spot of Abraj Albait. - I reserved a suite, and therefore I should have the breakfast at a certain restaurant (floor 29), but because I was not informed of that, I went to a lower class restaurant (ATIAF; no good)
Review 40:staff, internet does not require password, everything is nice
Review 41:Had to take two elevators to exit, and you only end up in the mall, alot of waiting since the elevators are always full, just can't imagine what it is like in peak season.
Review 42:Location is probably the best.
Review 43:It was really challenging to get to the reception of the hotel. We had to walk too long a distance to reach the reception for checking in. Although I booked a city view room, but the hotell offered me a room overlooking a very close bulding. Actually there was no view at all. I didn't like the service. The restaurant was so ordinary. I paid SR 1700 for two nights, but it was n't value for money.
Review 44:Of course I like the location.
Review 45:hi i booked 5 rooms needed to enter my fairmont gold membership but staff not to clued up to help .i need to to get it sorted out how can i get my membership loaded on these rooms?
Review 46:I had 5 rooms 2 apartments in apartment 1 room 4907 the stove was not working 2nd apartment my fridge and freezer room 4910 was not working called the technicians but did not get me sorted
Review 47:The time of check in at 17:00 While we arrive 11:00 Booking.com did not give you option for the arrival time! So I will not book through the site if my flight in the morning.
Review 48:No English cartoon channel for kids. Too many elevators. Needs better signage for guests to navigate.
Review 49:Loved the 2 bathrooms in our quad! Loved the mall underneath.
Review 50:I had a problem when checking in, I booked for two adults and two children while booking via Booking.com, however, this was not the case and I had to pay further for an additional bed. Which was not appropriate
Review 51:Location was the best and services were great.
Review 52:The aircond in my bedroom suite is hot at night times. It really make me sick. Even i ve complaint several times and the maintanance staf came to checked but its still the same.
Review 53:Its a huge suite. I felt like home. I choose a suite of kaaba view. Awesome. This is my third time stayed.
Review 54:I did not like the service in the restaurant (no enough staff) I had allergy from the bed and the mattress(I went to the hospital) the furniture were not clean and a lot of dust we have to change the lift to go down to the HARAM
Review 55:the suite's space the view the room service
Review 56:The cleanses of the room is much below my expectations for Fairmont, you can see the dust on the lamps & feel that the room is dusty when breathing. The lefts, sometimes difficult To get them. The breakfast service is slow
Review 57:Location / staff were helpful / Mr Mohsin in D4 floor Cafe, is so kind and supportive
Review 58:The room & toilet not clean and have dust, especially the table lamps. I reserved a in the gold floor then I changed to the ordinary floor to be with my family, the room provided has no bathrobes, no slippers, no amenities. The service during the breakfast is slow, because of lack of staff, plus some of the waiters were not professional. Sometimes, it's difficult to get the lefts
Review 59:Location - staff are friendly & helpful
Review 60:Service was horrible, staff weren't helpful at all. Felt like a 3 stars hotel. Food is really bad too (except for breakfast). Going to your room is a hassle, you will have to change elevators a few times, very confusing
Review 61:Nice rooms, great view
Review 62:We have to take two elevators to reach Haram. Sometimes it takes few minutes to get one.
Review 63:Room size and room arrangement. I love the view from room window. Breakfast buffet was excellent. In room dinning was very good.
Review 64:early check-in can be accommodated with more leniency, breakfast is less than amazing, rooms can be cleaner...
Review 65:Proximity to the Holy Mosque, prayer hall, room facilities, overall ambiance...
Review 66:Level of cleaness, needs to be upgraded a little to meet the hotel standards. No parking facilities, very difficult to reach by car and no parking nearby.
Review 67:The room was clean, and tidy, had all the facilities needed. Mall on the ground floor. lovely view from rooms and very close to haram.
Review 68:It's surprising that the hotel of this size has only handful of lifts serving ground floor (GF)and Haram and Reception (M2). It gets congested a lot. Once you are at the reception it's fairly easy to get to guest rooms though.
Review 69:Kabah view from our room was fantastic. Staff was friendly and room facilities were top notch.
Review 70:I still like but small facilities for gymnasium. I wish if they add more equipment
Review 71:I like the standard of the hotel, location, food, it's amazing!!
Review 72:Almost everything is bad especially the staff that handled our check-in, check-out, breakfast buffet staff and worst is the driver that drove us to Jeddah which got lost for more than 1.5 hours in Jeddah alone!!
Review 73:Nothing except for the housekeeping guy that clean our room daily. He was good and helpful
Review 74:Lifts weren't displayed properly to direct guest to inform which lift to use for intended floor. Simple display board outside lifts would assist greatly. Room entry cards continuously deactivating this has caused inconveniences several times. Reception desk weren't quick enough to reactivate card again it made me wait at the desk for half an hour. And he wasn't courtesious enough.
Review 75:Everything was good except reception staff.
Review 76:Not a good welcome
Review 77:It's so big. Not practical. Not friendly staff. Everything is a charge. I would not recommend, no one knows if you are a resident of just passing to go to mosque. Over rated and so expensive. I rather go to a 4 star and get treated well.
Review 78:- Floor carpet need to be cleaned or replaced - bed mattress is too soft - A better lifts indications is needed as it’s very confusing first time - Breakfast area is very crowded and could not accommodate all the guests - No explanations given for the different dine in options in the hotel
Review 79:- Friendly staff at the reception and very quick check in and check out - Very close to Haram - Luxury finishing
Review 80:Climate control didny work, my kids were freezing, Lifts were out of order One guy at reception, short of staff Kaba veiw room, but the veiw was blocked
Review 81:Dining in room is low quality food and very expensive. The rooms need to be sound isolated; we were easy able to hear what is going on in the next room.
Review 82:Kaaba view is amazing. Th S2 Masjid is Kaaba view, connected to the Haram Imam and perfect to have your pray in case of not able to be in Haram. The breakfast is perfect. Also the room service and staff does have a good response.
Review 83:The bathroom design toilet were very small, the coffi maker were out of service and when I reported no one came to replace it. And no good barking for the car.
Review 84:The window view , the haram sleeker live time The food also were good.
Review 85:It's a really big hotel it's like a maze. You will have to take 2 elevators to up to the room. And you can easily get lost in the hotel
Review 86:Great hotel
Review 87:The fact that all the hotels in abraj al bait has two elevators makes it a hassle to go back and forth to haram. Main entrance has slope which could be a challenge with wheelchair.
Review 88:This was close to haram. Its one of the tower in abraj ul bait this is the middle tower with clock on it. The city view on floor 37 was very nice. This hotel was very clean housekeeping used to come everyday. Staff was nice breakfast had a lot of variety there were two floors one was m2 another was 29 th floor.food was same on both floors but the view and seating arrangements were good on 29th floor they had fresh honey.
Review 89:The elevators. Changing elevators when going to the rooms... we got the formula after day 2.
Review 90:The friendly and efficient staff. We had a problem with house keeping and Mr Salmin came in promptly and swiftly to sort our issue beyond our expectations.
Review 91:Dont let other taxi to enter hotel parking.we have to walk a bit far to take private taxi.
Review 92:Good room.warm welcoming.execellent services.nice break fast.
Review 93:Absolutely Nothing
Review 94:The staff are wonderful, especially the Fairmont Gold team who made my son's birthday a memorable one!!! The breakfast buffet is one in a million!
Review 95:The shower rooms: the water hole is higher than the floor so water didn't flow out. The thermostat: it was not adjustable. We were there in winter and we couldn't set it to room temperature so it was always very, very cold inside days and nights.
Review 96:Our quad room has 2 bedrooms with 2 bathrooms, 2 tvs, and 2 everything. We booked for the haram view, we got a room where we could see Kaabah from one of its windows. We could always dial 0 for water supply, the rooms were cleaned everyday by a very friendly staff; chefs and staffs at breakfast were very friendly and accommodating to our peculiar needs -every breakfast was a great kick off for a beautiful day. There was a coffee man with free arabian coffee and dates, didn't speak English but attended to anyone approaching him for what he had on his trolley with cool smile and gesture. Always a refreshing start of our afternoon activities outside. There was a speaker in the rooms from which we could hear the adzan from Masjidil Haram and follow the imam. The location is perfect for ibadah and shopping. Food court at level 3 and 4 were adequate, meals are friendly to Asians like us.
Review 97:too many guests for breakast it felt like a bazar every morning.
Review 98:location is just at the doorstep of the haram. the breakfast is lavish n first class. they hv an excellent prayer room in case u r late to the salat or with someone with special assistance with view of the haram where u will pray with the haram jamat right from ur hotel.
Review 99:room cleaning i was not satisfied.as in 5star hotels should be...but i could not find that.more over even i stay there 4 night plus, than suddenly price become high.
Review 100:location,as well as receptionist attitude was amazing, break fast environment was good, waiters were good.
Review 101:It is a maze!!! The engineering firm who did the elevators layout and the route between the hotel facilities and to / from Haram, parking and prayer room should get the worst hotel plan prize. It takes a real effort to ruin such location! Males (fathers) can't drop or pick their kids from the kids corner!
Review 102:Hotel is clean and Location is great. Food is good too
Review 103:They should also install heating system in rooms also. Cuz sometimes it requires little heating if u have young kids with u. But no complaint. All was good
Review 104:Everything is good.
Review 105:Breakfast should not be repetitive. The lobby is beautiful, but sometimes there's food smell; and that effects the beauty of the lobby.
Review 106:Cleanliness, Bathrooms were clean, fast service, breakfast was convenient. Staff are very helpful. This will not be the last time to stay inshallah
Review 107:Rooms are too cold, AC temperature is out of control. Hotel restaurant called saudi labenese is worst experience ever, food is very poor and totally worthless to try!
Review 108:Location and spacious rooms
Review 109:The English language skills of the staff at reception and room service was not up to mark. This is an important factor for international travellers. Also, the variety in buffet breakfast was a bit less than some of the other competitors.
Review 110:The location, general level of service and employee attitude, ambience, facilities were very good.
Review 111:Everything else Inexperienced staff For 48\hr housekeeping didn't clean my room The bathroom was dirty and some parts are falling Check in was very poor The don't value the customer requests I've requested high floor they and early check in, when I stayed in the hotel twice, they clearly told me that the don't necessarily give the customer what they request. First time I stayed the receptionist at M2 told me "reservations through Booking.com up at M4" This time when I went to M4 directly the receptionist told me "reservations through Booking.com up at M2" When I discussed it with him he told me this is the role since ever! I went to M2 and the receptionist at M2 was tilling a customer in front of me "reservations through Booking.com up at M4" الموظفين ما عندهم خبرة واغلاطهم كثيرة والنتيجة كل شوي يتاسفوا جلست يومين ما نظفوا الغرفة يوم سكنت كان الحمام غير نظيف بعض قطع الحمام كانت تقع مجرد أني امسكها بالمرة الاولى قالوا لي اللي حاجز عن طريق بوكنق يطلع فوق وهذه المرة قالوا لي اللي حاجز عن طريق بوكتق ينزل تحت ويوم نزلت تحت موظف الاستقبال يقول للي قدامي نفس الأسطوانة بوكنق فوق
Review 112:The Location only
Review 113:N/A
Review 114:The hotel was booked for performing Umrah. The staff were all very smartly dressed, helpful and professional. The hotel is located just a few minutes away from the haram which made it very convenient for reading all our namaz' s and doing tawaf.
Review 115:The room was not ready despite the arrival time was written The noise from the other room Smoking in the nearby room and out side that room Not Cleaning of the room daily No partection in restaurants that help families to take breakfast nicely
Review 116:Warm reception on arrival Daily giving Arabic coffee and sweet and fruits The followup call about the service
Review 117:The hair dryer was broken, but unfortunately, no one has come to fix it or replace it!!!!
Review 118:The cleanness of the room and the variety of food in breakfast.
Review 119:The breakfast staff. They should be more friendly. Wandered around for a long time looking for a table. Nobody offered to help. Long line waiting to get into the breakfast buffet. The staff are more concerned with making sure everybody pays than with service. The female prayer area is stuffy and small.
Review 120:The location is excellent, the rooms were clean, check in was quick
Review 121:I asked them to fix the safety box but they change it on the second day. Also, they don't know how to set the temperature of AC.
Review 122:Hotel is good and cold.
Review 123:The hotel looked very nice but the room was horrible in terms of cleaning. I didn't feel comfortable at all. even when the housekeeping came to clean it was not up to standard.
Review 124:The location was perfect and the breakfast was lovely.
Review 125:Our room wasn't ready when we arrive also the most thing I hate is the alevator that need to be used until we reach the haram.
Review 126:I liked the design it was amazing
Review 127:basement entrance location is very bad, staff hotel not honest, 1 hours & 45 minutes to bring down my luggage and about to miss my flight because of this delay.
Review 128:left, breakfast, WiFi
Review 129:I stayed for 3 night at this property, only one time the room been cleaned .This is first time stay in such property and room cleaning service is poor like that!!!!
Review 130:the distance is far because we have to use 2 elevators. Each elevator will be crowded .. so it takes time to reach Al Harem
Review 131:best breakfast ever. variety of food and the taste is really delicious
Review 132:1- I booked a twin studio and I thought from the name of it that it has what the studio supposed to have, but unfortunately it was just a room with two single beds which hardly fit my family. The receptionist was very rude when I asked him for additional bed and wanted to charge me for it although my original booking was for a family of 4 persons and then the manager in charge resolved the matter and provide me with extra bed free of charge. 2- At the check-in we were informed the breakfast is at M2 level and nobody tell us that there is another restaurant in level 29 that is designated for whoever the receptionist tell them about who are mostly GCC nationals. I believe this is kind of discrimination. 3- The battery of the safe inside the room was almost died and I called the house keeping more than 3 times to get it fixed, however, they didn't fix it until I left the hotel. 4- There are some stains on the room carpet and there was a bad smell in the corridor of level 40 that do not befit the name of Fairmont.
Review 133:The breakfast was very nice and the staff of the restaurant were very helpful.
Review 134:1)The bath rob was damged and not clean "old blood spot" 2)The cabnet was broken "we couldnt close it and the light was on all the time" 3)the extra bed was not comfortable i felt the springs on my face and the AC was too cold and the sheets are really thin 4) the staff was always wrong whan we asked about durections or any facilities
Review 135:The food was amazing
Review 136:The road to the hotel is too congested and we took over 15 to 20 minutes in taxi to move from tunnel to hotel. We have to change two lifts (elevators) to go to the room. Its too complex for the people who are old and perhaps cannot walk too much...
Review 137:Proximity to Haram. Services and facilities.
Review 138:One person only working on reception counter Stink on the basin Elevators are confusing cuz not all of them are going to your floors and most of the times one or two elevators are out of order Bathroom equipment
Review 139:Size of the room Breakfast
Review 140:The check in timing start from 5:00 pm, We reached the hotel at 11:00am and had to wait untill 5:00 pm to check in.
Review 141:facilities, excellent breakfast, design and luxury ofbthe hotel.
Review 142:really, bad service, they never answer the phone, you rarely see employees, and when they do answer the phone they can barely speak english
Review 143:The hotel design and look is great
Review 144:The pick up from the basement is a bit of a hassle as you need to provide the car plate number to the security which causes a bit of delay.
Review 145:Great location Food excellent quality both breakfast and dinner buffet Comfortable bed Great facilities Room service excellent
