Reviews for Revere Hotel Boston Common
Review 1:1) On a really cold night all we wanted to do is stay indoors and have a drink in the hotel bar. We were extremely disappointed to find our that hotel bar is closed Sun, Mon & Tue. No alternatives were available if you wanted to stay within the hotel 2) No free parking! To park overnight costs $40!!!! 3) TV in our room didn't work that well as the physical cable was faulty. They managed to fix it but it broke again the next day 4) Toilet flush was scary loud (a bit petty of me but it really frightened me the first time)
Review 2:A nice hotel. Big spacious rooms though we couldn't quite understand why we had to pay $20 per night more for a room with 1 bed rather than 2 queen size beds
Review 3:Polite, friendly staff. Hotel has a modern design. The rooms are huge by city standards. Nicely appointed, clean, quiet, and comfortable. Loved our king bed.Great location.
Review 4:I feel like breakfast could have been included for the price of the rooms
Review 5:A very nice hotel right in the center of Boston, with friendly staff, clean and comfortable rooms and relatively low rates
Review 6:The only thing we don't like is the cost of parking. The parking cost negates the value of the room.
Review 7:We love the Revere & have been staying at this location since it was Radisson.
Review 8:While staying at the hotel, the staff and management were very gracious and took care of any issues immediately and followed up to ensure our satisfaction.
Review 9:1. Check in a nightmare took more than a half hour. 2. TV awful, poor choice of channels and picture quality was worse than a cheap cell phone. 3. Bathroom toiletries smelled bad low quality. 4. Parking on site outrageously expensive.
Review 10:Very little other than location and a view of the fireworks.
Review 11:You can hear everything through the doors
Review 12:Location was perfect! And the view from my room was amazing! I will definitely come back to stay at this hotel.
Review 13:The staff was not prepared to have guests for NYE. The staff was unprofessional. Later in the night an unsafe environment was created.
Review 14:The location and the comfort I have with the hotel having previously stayed there.
Review 15:Other than the lobby, the hotel wasn't what I expected. It didn't look like something worth the money. We basically paid for location and the view. The decorations weren't that special and the room seemed a bit cramped.
Review 16:The view was really nice, the location was prime
Review 17:Only drawback is the noise from the street when all the clubs and bars close. Lost about 30 minutes of sleep, my wife and I were in bed by 11:30pm. Overall I'd rather have the inconvenience of a small amount of lost sleep than being farther from the action.
Review 18:Entire staff was friendly, knowledgable and added to our excitement for a Boston weekend. Richard (concierge) was fantastic giving us insights into which bars and restaurants would be the best experiences. Walking distance to the North end, Commons and other must see locations. Easy access to T stop for full access to the rest of the area.
Review 19:I was not please with one of front desk assistant due to poor communication and how the payment was handled prior my authorization.
Review 20:Hotel is centrally located which made easy to commute anywhere in the city
Review 21:Walking distance to everything. The Rustic Kitchen was fantastic and delicious. The staff was friendly and attentive. We had a very minor maintenance issue which was addressed so quickly we hardly knew there was an issue at all.
Review 22:The heating system was loud and a little cold in our room.
Review 23:The Location was great the hotel was clean and staff very helpful. Room size was big, clean and comfortable. Would definitely stay here again.
Review 24:The staff was superb! The rooms were very quiet and comfortable. Centrally located hotel, near restaurants, Boston Common, the Theater District and Downtown Crossing.
Review 25:We stayed in a 'Deluxe king room' in the 20th floor with city view. The Room was big and modern furnitured. The view was amazing and the bed exceptionally comfortable in addition to the great mattress there was a pillow menue to get you the best rest possible. The Location is great and everything around, all the sights and great shopping are in walking distance.
Review 26:Ate breakfast at hotel as it was Christmas Day. Food was ok but overpriced. A mini fridge would be nice.
Review 27:The pool is nice, large. Location is excellent, could walk to many areas and close to 2 different T lines. Beds were comfortable. Really nice having a balcony and opening the sliding doors. Got there early and was able to check in. Gym area fair sized with both free weights and machines .
Review 28:Perfect location, value for your money, very nice facilities, it is near almost everything at walking distance. The concierge is the best...he got us reservations for dinner, tickets for all the events, even the nearest church Christmas service and weather forecast every day...2 thumbs up
Review 29:The television was terrible with a static picture. The remote control hardly worked possibly the battery was dying? A 150.00 hold was put on my card which was never told by the check in staff, and 4 days later still has not been returned. The heating system is terribly loud and kicked on every few minutes which made it hard to sleep. While checking in my reservation was difficult to be found. For an expensive highend hotel I expected much more.
Review 30:The view.
Review 31:Nothing
Review 32:Pleasant and helpful Staff,Rooms are Comfortable, Spacious and Clean, the Superb location; footsteps from everything you need to see; Boston Common, Woodbury and Commonwealth streets, Copley square, Prodential Plaza, 10-15 mins walk to financial district then to Quincy Market/ NewEnglad Aquarium or Northend, loved my stay in this splendid hotel, highly recommended, would definitely go back.
Review 33:Booking.com said the room we booked was a deluxe queen with a sitting area....it was just a double queen room. We asked front desk about it and were told the suites were the only ones with sitting areas. Why was the deluxe room more money then?? No fridge in room. They took half off the $40 per day parking fee.
Review 34:Location is great, beds were comfy.
Review 35:Nothing !!!!
Review 36:when we arrived we were greeted my Myhfid at valet , he couldn't have been nicer ( same when we departed ) . When we checked in had the pleasure of meeting Fran . He was so friendly and accommodating . Much to my surprise my your niece told him it was my birthday and we were going to see Elf . When we came back to the room there was a lovely happy birthday note and some cupcakes from Fran , he was the best . The room was beautiful with a nice view . The beds were so comfortable . The room had a nice size TV . I loved everything about it . We used the pool which was a nice addition to the stay . We had dinner at the Rustic Kitchen at the hotel it was fabulous !!! Everything was in walking distance . The hotel was so pretty , staff went above and beyond to make sure you enjoyed your stay . Looking forward to coming back for girls weekend in January or February .
Review 37:I would have had no issues with this hotel at all, however I was unaware that there was a damage deposit required when checking in of $150. This was not specified anywhere when booking the hotel. We were told we would be refunded the deposit, which is fine, I just found that fee to be very high, almost the entire price of our room! Also since I was not expecting it and could not plan for it, I was very disappointed with that.
Review 38:We loved his hotel. We stayed in a city view King room. It was beautiful and decorated very modern and simplistic. Very clean and spacious as well as pretty much everything we needed in the room. Also the location of the hotel is very nice. Only about 5 minutes or so walk to the T.
Review 39:If I had to pick something, possibly the noise from the streets outside as in sirens etc. That's only a minor criticism and not the hotels fault.
Review 40:Great location, close to everything.
Review 41:Pricey to stay for 3 nights. Being Canadian, it didn't help that the exchange rate was so not in our favor.. For 3 nights it cost around 800$ U.S... That however with the exchange rate was closer to 1200$ Canadian!!
Review 42:Nice hotel, friendly staff. Great location!
Review 43:Nothing really bad at all. Decorations could have been a little updated.
Review 44:Great view. Great accommodations. Great staff. Close to everything. Decorations was neat. Bathroom amenities was mean a lot better than most.
Review 45:Could not use the room service at 9:50 PM as the restaurant was already closed (it supposed to be open till 10PM) and the overnight dining was not available as it starts at 10 PM.
Review 46:Second time in this hotel. Best value for money, great location, friendly staff, comfortable rooms.
Review 47:We were offered upgrade (for money) which we accepted but the suite was beside the elevator and we listened to it all night. So we asked for our original booking the morning after. We were also charged for valet parking the whole time but we only used it 1 day (stayed 4). It was corrected once I noticed it. I have stayed at this hotel before and like it very much. I expected that it would be noticed but it wasn´t. That was a dissapointment.
Review 48:The room was very spacious. The staff is very friendly and helpful. We had a car the first night and it was possible to valet park it. The hotel has a certain fraigrance which is very good. The hotel is walking distance to all the main things we wanted to see and do.
Review 49:Nothing to dislike
Review 50:Helpful staff, very comfortable junior suite, nice heated pool, close to Theatres, Boston Common and CBD. Also close to Boston South Train station and subways. Free shoe cleaning! The rustic kitchen restaurant was great.
Review 51:They need a hot tub, and a free breakfast. :)
Review 52:Love the location! The beds are super comfortable, the pool is great, the staff is always super helpful and accommodating.
Review 53:w/o asking and telling so, they tried to charge $40/day for parking, even though I didn't have a car. Could only see on the receipt when I requested one.
Review 54:Not applicable
Review 55:We love the location, the accommodations and the staff! John in concierge services was fantastic! Frans at the front desk was also exceptional!
Review 56:Security deposit is 150$. It's too much. I stayed only one night November 30th. Hotel didn't refund my security deposit for long time. Today is December 4th and I didn't get 150$ so far.
Review 57:I found the bed too soft and heating difficult to adjust, also I missed the hot chocolate that is usually served after Thanks giving.
Review 58:The staff were very friendly and accommodating nothing was too much!!
Review 59:If someone else on the same floor flushed a toilet, you would totally hear it.
Review 60:Room had a balcony, the pillow menu was nice, and the hotel was accessible
Review 61:The buffet breakfast was awful and way too expensive for the very limited selection. The lobby was cold and uninviting. I didn't like the soaps and shampoos. Not enough water pressure. Outlet for iron was very loose. Plug kept falling out.
Review 62:The Rustic Restaurant was excellent. Wish they were open for breakfast. Really wanted a mimosa as I was on vacation. Buffet was expensive and awful. Bedding was nice.
Review 63:I am not a fan of community soap/shampoo/etc. bottles. And I found some of the furnishings a little worn or of lesser quality than other hotels, in the same price point....
Review 64:Very friendly staff! Extremely helpful, customer service is their top priority! Get a room with a view, so worth it!
Review 65:The location of the hotel could not have been better for our purposes. The front desk person when we checked in at 2am was very friendly and made us feel very comfortable. The room was clean and the beds quite comfortable.
Review 66:Breakfast is expensive. I usually opt for breakfast down the street at a number of other easy restaurants.
Review 67:Great location. Close to a lot. Within walking distance of a fair amount of interesting Boston.
Review 68:I didn't like that there wasn't an option for early check in. I got to the hotel around 1pm and a room wasn't ready for me
Review 69:The room was very modern and comfortable . The location was great, because it allowed me to have fun in downtown Boston
Review 70:Wireless Internet Connectivity was terrible. Had to contact IT Tech Support twice, both times they "rebooted my router" but this did not help. Very unusual for a 4 star hotel.
Review 71:Room was very comfortable and suite was ideal size. Balcony was a nice plus.
Review 72:We had absolutely no complaints the entire visit. Well done, Revere staff!!
Review 73:Our stay at the Revere was fabulous from beginning to end! I only wish i could give it an even higher rating. The staff were helpful, the room was beautiful, clean and very comfortable, it was easy getting around (taxis waiting, hop on hop off tour right down the road), good eats (Maggiano's, Legal Seafoods, a great irish pub just down the road (yum!!). We were on the 14th floor and the view was awesome. The balcony and the view were a plus. We will definitely return to this hotel time and again! I must confess, i was trying to figure out a way to take the bed home with me - it was even more comfortable than my own. With the pricing on Booking.com, this luxurious hotel was a great bargain!
Review 74:The noise. Late night party goers coming back to their rooms... Yelling in the halls, running, slamming doors.
Review 75:The location, the amazing and helpful staff, the cleanliness, the beautiful rooms.
Review 76:Someone must have smoked some weed on our floor, you could smell it in the corridor. Parking pricey, but that's Boston.
Review 77:Excellent location, modern very clean and comfortable hotel, good free wifi. Bathroom was lovely with a great selection of nice shampoos and body washes.
Review 78:Prime location. Proximity to most attractions which are within walking distance. Big room. Excellent city view (I was given an odd number room on 15/F). Very friendly and efficient staff.
Review 79:Only negative would be that I asked reception for a new coffee machine as ours didn't work, we never got a replacement.
Review 80:Big comfortable rooms, great location.
Review 81:We were very lucky given we had beautiful weather and we would have liked to have availed ourselves of the air conditioning however the unit was so noisy that we could not sleep. as a result it was too hot in our room (76 F)
Review 82:It is our fourth visit to Boston. We always stay in that area. Location is really important.
Review 83:Dirty mugs in room. Cheap and nasty coffee in room. Old band-aid on the floor of the pool. Pool house itself was freezing cold. Very cold and unwelcoming hotel which was horrendously expensive - even parking the car was $50 after paying nearly $350 for the room.
Review 84:Comfy beds. Nice toiletries. Good location.
Review 85:Your phone was not working the day before I arrived. I was not able to get through at all. And when I checked in, your computers were down and we had to wait awhile until the clerks could register us by hand. Also breakfast would have been appreciated. There's really no decent option in the neighborhood.
Review 86:Accomodating staff...excellent housekeeping...very comfortable beds...convenient location in city and loved the view.
Review 87:It was the first hotel I ever stayed in that didn't have a hair dryer.
Review 88:Great location. It was within walking distance of sights I wanted to see. Staff was very friendly and helpful. I would stay there again, if the price was right.
Review 89:AC/heating unit can be rather noisy at times. Brits beware - no kettle in the room for a cuppa! Mineral water bottle @$6!
Review 90:Fantastic location, in the heart of Boston. Very large and pleasant room. Breakfast lounge ($15 for continental or $22 sadly not included)
Review 91:only breakfast option was a $22 buffet and we do not eat large breakfasts
Review 92:location and service comfortable bed early arrival and staff gave us options to have a room since ours was not ready including an upgrade close to restaurants and shops
Review 93:The Bathrooms were nothing special. The elevators were slow and packed
Review 94:close to the Wang and a lot of other places. They parked my Jeep and go it back to us fast when we were ready.
Review 95:N/a
Review 96:Location, facilities & staff. Modern decor. The balcony. Walking distance to Commons, Newberry St, Mike & Patty's, the Subway (Harvard), Chinatown, etc., etc.
Review 97:One complaint and its nothing more than an observation. The elevators were very slow at times. Not nearly a big enough issue to take points away but something to note.
Review 98:Friendly staff, view was very nice (having a balcony is something you dont usually get. Location worked great for us.
Review 99:Near an elevator and no sleep at night. We were able to move next day to another room. But one night such as that leaves you with a bad taste.
Review 100:Nice bed
Review 101:Very comfortable, great facilities and an excellent breakfast. I really enjoyed the gym, the airy and modern feel of the rooms and the simple, contemporary style of the hotel overall.
Review 102:This is not a 4 Star offering. Premises is a parking garage with rooms added and there is constant vibration from cars being parked. Room quality poor and noise high form ice maker etc. Emerald Bar area very tacky - adjoining Rustic Bar much better but hard to access
Review 103:Good location convenient to centre of Boston
Review 104:Unfortunately lots of niggles. Wi-Fi was not great. A great roof top pool bar that always seemed to be shut.In fact in our four night stay we never found an open bar in the hotel. We paid for and requested a great city view (over $500 per night) There are two views from this hotel and I believe we had the second best view. I was expecting a view of downtown Boston, but got a view of Copley Square instead. Staff didn't always listen correctly to understand the nature of said niggles. Unfortunately I wouldn't recommend this hotel, which is a shame because I think it could be a great hotel
Review 105:Good standard, comfortable room in a handy location with a pretty good view
Review 106:one small gripe was the cost of the bottled water in the room.
Review 107:Excellent Customer "first" service received from all the staff we met at the hotel. Hotel was kept to a very high standard, 4 highspeed lifts, large sized rooms with a Balcony. The roof terrace was a lovely touch to this high end hotel and the views of the city from the room balcony is beautiful.
Review 108:Everything was wonderful
Review 109:Large space with sliding doors opening to "terrace". Professional and helpful staff. Amenities: including, umbrella, slippers, robe, iron and ironing board. Lots of plugs for tech.
Review 110:I havent seen such a bad swimming pool, breakfast area, air conditioners, and the terrace full of young studs during weekend that disturbs you and freaks you out. Instead of it location nothing is good about this hotel. Especially for the first time, the bed that we were sleeping smells like dust and it disturbs you a lot.
Review 111:The only thing I respected was the guys in fromt of the door and the cleaners that respects you all the time.
Review 112:No breakfast on site and expensive offer of room service if ordered before 4am.
Review 113:Very comfortable bed and for a big hotel quiet.good facilities in room.
Review 114:Husband had a very long wait to be served drinks at rooftop garden area. The hotel seemed oriented to younger people. As a mature couple, it would have nice to have had a public area in which to enjoy a coffee in a comfortable chair
Review 115:Spacious room with attractive modern décor. Our room had a stunning view Location made it easy to walk to downtown Boston, Seaport and Back Bay areas. A range of restaurants and theatres nearby Coffee and tea making available in room. Clean, streamlined fittings which worked well. Great storage space
Review 116:I didn't like the expense of the parking garage. Seems like the Revere should make a deal with the owner of the parking garage and get their guests a 40 or 50% discount for overnight parking.
Review 117:I liked everything about the hotel itself and the staff. In addition it was the cleanest hotel we have ever stayed at. We will be back to the Revere for our next boston visit for sure!
Review 118:Elevators were horrendous. Often had to take elevator up first just to get to lobby level as always full and very slow. Made it extremely frustrating.
Review 119:Entire staff extremely friendly. Concierge made my daughter's birthday memorable.
Review 120:Although there was supposed to be free wifi, it was not available in the room. Had to go to the hotel lobby to connect.
Review 121:Good convenient location. Room was clean and comfortable. Helpful and friendly staff at the hotel.
Review 122:the fact you have to pay for the water they put in your room $6 "really" 7-11's right across the street I can replace the bottle for 3bucks. just sayin
Review 123:you have restaurant and nightclub on premises
Review 124:The Revere was terrific. It's location is quite central and an easy walk to Boston Common and the T metro lines. The room was large and clean. The same with the ensuite. The coffee machine had some personality :) and the ice machine on the floor helped that there is no fridge in the room. I liked that there was a balcony for fresh air of an evening and the air con was easily controlled. I also liked the glass of bulb on arrival :)
Review 125:The swimming pool wasn't actually big/deep enough for swimming. Cable TV wasn't free.
Review 126:The room was very spacious with a balcony and a beautiful view on Boston. Very comfortable bed. Cleanliness was absolutely perfect. The rooftop bar and swimming pool was actually on 7th floor and it's open to public as well.
Review 127:Need to pay via credit card, they would not except cash as payment. Wrong amount charge to atm card - the deposit or line of credit charge was billed upon departure and not the actual charges. Late night room service food was the worse room service I have ever had as it did not come from the hotel but was from an outside service.
Review 128:King Bed Premier Room with City View was Awesome, location - excellent, There were many lotions and shampoos to choose and use and the valet staff was awesome. Would not be able to rent this hotel if it was not for booking.com, great price.
Review 129:Its a concrete monstrosity utterly devoid of character. The stern, gloomy, hard-surfaced and hence unwelcoming lobby tell you this is a functional establishment devoid of softness. Lifts can hardly cope with the flow of humanity and so hope you are not there on a weekend when it's fully booked! The hotel seems very overpriced or rather it is very expensive but that is Boston for you. Go south to Baltimore. Far nicer and you won't have to open a vein in your wallet! The only touch of humanity as usual was a pleasant exchange with one of the room service lads. Busy as ever, positive in his job and with a friendly word.
Review 130:Location was great next to Boston Common, city centre and especially Legal Seafood
Review 131:Average room, horrible a/c (as loud as it can be and impossible to sleep with it on), weak shower pressure, elevators that take forever....
Review 132:Great concierge
Review 133:The room was very modern and high end. It had anything you needed right there. There were shampoo & conditioner filled pumps in the shower. They even had a pillow menu!
Review 134:Elevators are awful. They take a long time to come and are therefore inevitably full when they arrive. Carpets throughout the hotel could do with being replaced. Overall, too expensive for what it is.
Review 135:Location great. Roof top bar is nice. Staff very helpful.
Review 136:Room wasn't cleaned in the morning. Then they came back when we were in the room mid afternoon. Just a little frustrating. The cleaning staff was so nice so no biggie.
Review 137:The front desk gentleman was just so pleasant and professional. Loved the pool lounge area and the bartenders were great.
