Review 1：The only thing i would criticize is that it would have been wonderful to have coffee/tea facilities in the room. Surprised me that they didn't have that.

Review 2：We stayed at his hotel 3 times on our travels through Portugal in December 2015, staff were extremely friendly & helpful at all times. Each time we came back our room got better without even having to ask. Room 96 was our best!!!!

You may read bad reviews take no heed. If you are a complainer you will find fault with most things as we witnessed here. But we had an amazing 5 days of quiet pleasure with beautiful food good served by lovely staff. Understated luxury. Highly recommend.

Review 16：Everything, the staff were fantastic from the moment of our arrival until we left. The room was lovely with a small balcony.

Review 17：We arrived atthehotel from the USA at 7:00am. They had our room available however we did not like the room as it was extremely small. When we called the front desk to upgrade the room we were told that they would not have another room available until the afternoon. However, we were able to use the first room for the day and we switched rooms around 5:00pm. I can't put a price on how valuable it was to be able to be able to have use of the room when we were so tired from traveling all night.

Review 18：On a couple of days it was hard to find a lounger in the pool area. We were there in mid Sept so i imagine in the height of summer that would be a problem. Also the seats on the balcony were not very comfortable

Review 19：Perfect location - central Cascais but not in the busiest area. Right on the coast with views out to sea and along the golden sandy beach. Lovely room and good sized balcony with a view - definitely worth paying for! Decent breakfast buffet and sitting on the open air terrace for breakfast was theperfect way to start the day! Staff friendly and helpful - any requests were dealt with promptly.

Review 24：We stayed here after a few nights at another 5 star hotel in the Sintra Mountains. The price was equally expensive across both but the experience was like chalk and cheese which was disappointing. For example, breakfast was a bit hit and miss with the offering (cold meats, cheeses mostly) not really being up to scratch for a 5-star hotel and a long wait to be offered coffee or tea, no one to seat you etc. The hotel looked tired and worn in places, the staff while lovely, funny and very polite, often seemed too busy, particularly at reception. We weren't greeted for a while when we arrived but this could be down to the more laid back attitude of the coast. I would say you are paying for the on-the-beach location, but the rest of the experience is 4 star at most. I also thought the hotel may have some sunbeds on the beach reserved for guests, however that isn't the case and the beach gets very busy, which sometimes relegates you to the pool area - the pool itself isn't very big or appealing, and often noisy.

Review 29：This hotel is now a disaster to stay at since the new owner took over. All the long term guests we talked to, said the same. Dogs were now allowed at the Hotel. Bathrooms smell. Our room was akin to a old renovated attic space. We checked out after 4 nights and went to the Baia for our remaining 3 night stay. Way to noisy and busy at this hotel pool area now. No control over their short term clientele.

Review 47：The location is superb and the staff very welcoming. We booked a standard room with a beach view but it was nothing like advertised on booking website. I would rate the room 3 star. I would expect a better room In a 5 star hotel at these prices. It was small and bathroom needed a paint job..Also you can hear the nearby nightclubs during the night so Bring your ear plugs! Otherwise it was an excellent stay!

Review 48：Rooms in the old building: small bathrooms and not very much ranging facilities for clothes. But for us more than adequate, so this is only a very very minor inconvenience.

Review 49：We booked 3 of the older rooms in the main building. The rooms were charming and very comfortable. Parking for the rented car a great plus. Breakfast (both inside or outside with great views) perfect, with lots of fresh fruit. Kindness and efficency of the staff without fault. Nice pool area with a view, not very big but we never had a problem finding 4 poolbeds together - a steep metal stair takes you down to the beach, lovely. Great hotel, extra's like wine and snacks not overpriced for a 5 star. Can't wait to go back.

Review 78：Arrived few hours early before check-in and receptionist said our room will be ready in 10min.Meantime one of his colleagues suggested to show us grounds of the hotel.The surf and the ocean from the restaurant looked very beautiful,also bar area is big enough with the view(before arrival I wasn't so sure cause pictures of the bar area were confusing).We had seaview room which was on the upper level and had a stunning view.Service was top class and I think staff was excellent.I also would like to bring to attention other reviews of the people who compare this hotel with other modern 5star hotels in Cascais-its the same like compare modern apartment with vintage style villa.All areas in this hotel look fabulous and really made impresion to us.

Review 79：Tea at breakfast, it would have been so much better if you used boiling, not warm water when making tea. Also the blow air heating system in the bedroom was a bit uncomfortable.

Review 80：Location of Hotel, wonderful views. We could step on to the beach and have a quick walk before breakfast. Hotel has lovely bar where evening drink could be enjoyed watching the sunset. Fantastic variety of fruit for breakfast. Staff were efficient and very friendly. Most importantly the hotel was just 5 minute walk from the train station from which you can be in Lisbon in less than 40 minutes on very regular train service.

Review 92：The first room they gave us was small, dark and pokey with one very small high up window and barely enough room to walk around the bed. We complained about the size and standard of the room and the staff were not very pleasant or helpful. We were told if we wanted a different room we had to pay more, we were shown two more and accepted the second one which was much better standard, with a balcony that over looked the pool and we had to pay one hundred euros extra for each night that we stayed for this room! They completely ignored the fact that we were returning for an anniversary visit, no complimentary fruit or wine. It was very sad

Review 93：This was a return visit to this hotel where we had our honey moon, quite a few years ago. The standard of the hotel has definitely declined and we were disappointed by the difference in the change since our last visit. The location and sun terrace were the only things that were still nice, but the sun loungers and parasols were cheap and kept blowing over in the wind. The room we eventually got was ok but we had to pay a lot more than the rate we booked for through booking.com so they clearly give the substandard rooms to those who book through a booking agency. Definitely not a 5 star hotel, barely a 3 star....! Disappointing trip!
