Reviews for Killington Mountain Lodge

Review 1:The indoor pool was closed. no cereal for breakfast (my husband missed it)

Review 2:Room over all was very nice! and very nice bedding. very comfortable beds. outdoor hot tub also great bacon for breakfast (my son loved it) large fireplace in the entry room

Review 3:It was a very windy day and by the balcony there was a slight draft coming under the door. Not enough to make the room cold, it could only be felt when standing right there, but it did mean we had to keep our bags more in a corner.

Review 4:Clean and comfortable room with lots of space. The ski lockers were under construction but we were able to bring them into our room. Good options for breakfast and served early enough to get on the slopes early. Very close to the mountain and restaurants on the access road.

Review 5:Breakfast was not the most organized setting, but perhaps the preexisting patrons had over zealous appetites? Had to wait some time forcoffee, no cereal bowls to be seen, either kitchen was understaffed orpatrons were pigging out. We don't normally eat a big breakfast sodidn't mind to go without.

Review 6:Large, spacious room, clean

Review 7:When I booked on your website, it stated that the renovations had justbeen completed and made no mention of the fact that none of the commonfacilities, such as spa, Jacuzzi, bar, etc were still under heavyconstruction. If I had known, I would have booked a cheaper place withbasic facilities. Not impresssed!

Review 8:Nice room, although bathroom needs updating

Review 9:Facility was undergoing renovations. Lobby was a construction area and dining area noisy. Breakfast food was only fair. There was no heat in the room on our first night but when the management was informed, the room charge for that night was graciously credited and the problem with the heat was resolved. The staff was friendly but not attentive.

Review 10:Great location & very nice room.

Review 11:I have nothing bad to say about this property But a suggestion: Havediscounts for locals/VT residents.

Review 12:Location, pool, tennis, breakfast balcony!!!!!

Review 13:Air conditioner was a rolling indoor a/c which had the exhaust hose poorly connected, so warm air was leaking into the room mollifying the cool a/c.

Review 14:Location

Review 15:AC was a portable unit and not the best. The doors all were Jammed, and had to be slammed to close.

Review 16:Location was close to mountain. Room was clean and Beds were comfortable.

Review 17:Facility being renovated. Our room was okay, though there were some minor issues. The rest of the facility was in rough shape.

Review 18:Staff was very friendly and helpful. Location was great.

Review 19:I think we got the best room in the lodge - top floor with TWO balconies with screen doors. Sat outside in the mornings and evenings, drinking coffee and looking out over the beautiful scenery; left the doors open at night for the night noise and breeze. Everyone on the staff was friendly and helpful, and directly us to sites/parks visited mostly by locals. The breakfast was HUGE and delicious - eggs, bacon, bagels, muffins, fruit, yogurt, you name it. Can't wait to see the new facilities when all the renovations are done!

Review 20:the ac broke during the night and we had to get duct tape from the front desk to fix it ourselves. we also had no maid service and had to get our own clean towels from front desk and we were given attitude when we asked for the towels. they also had remodeling going on day and night, with remodeling trash all around

Review 21:it was in great location, close to mountain and things to do. the breakfast buffet was wonderful

Review 22:The entrance, banquet room, elevator and halls were dirty and unvaccumed. The banquet room was filled with weird mattresses. We had just gotten off the LT late and desperate to get in our room and the front desk was moving at a snails pace. I don't think the state of the hotel was worth over $100 a night. Granted it was the off season, but it seemed a little run down.

Review 23:The room was cleanly, cool and comfy

Review 24:This was second time there. Was under construction but even our room was less than expected. Tub was disgusting. Stayed at another inn 3 days later, spent $50 less and had nicer, cleaner room.

Review 25:Facility was being renovated. It was noisy in the morning due to the construction. All the amenities were not clean or available. The bed was very soft and uncomfortable.

Review 26:Proximity to the attractions. Price

Review 27:Not a bad experience. It appears they are in the middle of a lot of improvements. So lots of painters, and construction around. Looking forward to coming back when all of the work is done.

Review 28:The bed was very comfortable. The staff are extremely friendly, even under stress of a large group.

Review 29:Worst experience I ever had in a hotel. Construction everywere, construction crew and tools on the hallways, painting crew in front of my door all day long/paint smell very strong. Room undusted, filthy carpets , with trash on it in the lobby. Breakfast inexistent ( boxes with corn flackes in a empty dirty room).

Review 30:Too many kids running around unsupervised. The main room on the 2nd floor was messy and dirty from all the kids. There was a large group from NY staying there for 3 weeks and they didn't treat the place great.

Review 31:Once the outdoor pool is done it will be nice. I loved the make shift lights on the basketball court!! we were out there late at night playing. Love the old charm of the place. Once the renovations are complete it will be very nice

Review 32:Very run down-old outdated-not at all what was described-we looked at the room and surroundings and immediately knew we would not stay

Review 33:Location The staff was nice and agreed to cancel our reservation with no charge

Review 34:Rundown appearance while under renovation -- thin rough towels (no need to exfoliate), no cocktail service or on-site game room, lukewarm heating of water for in-room coffee maker, tragic painting if stone floor in entry needs to be restored.

Review 35:Great staff, service, value, location and view from our very clean & tidy dual balcony King room.

Review 36:Poor wifi connectivity. Very weak signal. And accessable power outlets for laptop etc were already used for lighting, ac, refrigerator, near desk top. A devoted outlet near desk would have been ideal. I had to unplug the refrigerator completely, move the ac unit to that outlet stringing its cord across the door to use the outlet by the desk.

Review 37:Bed comfortable. Room spacious. Indoor pool relaxing.

Review 38:The room was clean, beautiful view of the mountain, the front desk staff was very polite, profesional, helpfull, and courtious. The breackfast was fresh, and the waiter was very polite. Thank you.

Review 39:breakfast food not available.....seemed like they might have been short handed. Was good though.

Review 40:Comfortable room. The place is showing its age somewhat but overall good experience.

Review 41:Unpaved drive Slow single elevator Breakfast contintental only

Review 42:Friendly, helpful staff Clean nice room Games and movies available Perfect location to shopping, skiing, and dinner

Review 43:Towels were missing, hairdryer didn't work, water was brown at one point, lost electricity for several hours at night, bathroom didn't seem fully clean, no bottled water in room, walls were very thin and not soundproof at all.

Review 44:Very close to ski resort and night life. Friendly staff.

Review 45:Stairwells need improvement, vacuuming would be an improvement! Breakfast was AWFUL the first day, don't even know what it was besides round. Pancake, egg, combo of both?, something gooey on it, cheese? It was gross. 2nd day, powdered scrambled eggs SO much better. But still, not that good. People allowed to walk in dining area barefoot. Need significant improvement here.

Review 46:Nice entry, BIG fireplace, nice common area to read, etc. Indoor and Outdoor hot tubs nice. Lap pool a little cool, but I guess it should be! Rooms clean, beds comfy.

Review 47:In a word, breakfast was lame. Ran out of stuff, food got cold with no sterno under trays. Eat in ground floor overflow area if its open - food was hot. I found it after i ate upstairs.

Review 48:Big clean rooms and bathroom & its hard to find anyplace this close to skiing and nightlife for the price. Nice outdoor hot tub

Review 49:The hotel needs some updates, the pool area may not be the safest for young children-there are no stairs and the railings on the outside should be remounted as they were wobbly. The room had a ripped carpet and curtain. The doors were dented and needed to be cleaned or painted. The shower heads also needed replacing. The double beds were very small, you could not fit two people in one comfortably. A taller person would've hung off the end.

Review 50:Close to the mountain, complimentary breakfast, cookies and cider were available after riding all day, and the hot tub was mostly empty when we went to use it. The day staff was very friendly

Review 51:The pool and hot tub didnt look very inviting

Review 52:Breakfast was sufficient but what makes this excellent was location. cleanliness and shuttle service. We also enjoyed the room size and the fireplace in the lobby. The view of Killington was nice.

Review 53:No bad experiences here!

Review 54:Hut tub outside is really relaxing after the day of skiing! Also, my favorite thing is enjoying fireplace on a comfy sofa. And breakfast is really good! I love everything about this hotel!

Review 55:Coffee maker stinks and is dirty for a tea drinker or non coffee drinker. The vent over the shower prob hasn't been cleaned for dust in over a year. The bathroom was clean but the vent was very dirty with dust particles falling as well during shower. Very minor but could use some attention

Review 56:Staff was very polite and friendly. Bed was comfortable and clean. Almost everything was perfect

Review 57:Our stay was very pleasant. I will definitely return. It's a 2 minute drive to Snowshed base lodge and a 1 minute drive to all the staple places for dinner and drinks.

Review 58:Our bedding had blood stains on pillow and comforter. Got tub and pool area could definitely use some attention. Our shower was not cleaned in between. Long curly black hair in shower and I have short blonde hair.....

Review 59:Location.

Review 60:Internet was poor in the room. The room was very cold at night. We got cold there. The bed was not comfortable. I woke up with pain in my back. Oh dear, the only good thing was location.

Review 61:The bed was not that comfortable. The indoor pool room doesn't look very clean and the pool water was not clear for some reason. We really enjoyed the hot tub after a whole day of skiing. But it has strong chlorine smell and lots of foam once the spa started.

Review 62:It's great that they have a hot tub (that's why we chose this place in the first place). Our room is big with great sun light and high celling, and very quiet. The hotel is close to ski lodge and convenient for gear shopping and food. Breakfast was good too!

Review 63:While still quite decent, the hotel is starting to show signs of wear & tear, and needs some refurbishing. Also, there was a faint odor of chlorine on the third floor hallway (our room was on the third floor) emanating from the swimming pool.

Review 64:Friendliness of staff, clean and comfortable room and beds, breakfast included, outdoor storage for skis, good shuttle to mountain, cookies & hot cider after skiing, indoor & outdoor hot tub, and great location close to ski area.

Review 65:Friendly, great location, gathering spaces arond the two big fireplaces, hot tubs, nice bar, great breakfast. James was great with the fire the hot chocolate and cookies at night. Nice time.

Review 66:- wifi didnt work properly - outdated

Review 67:- 2 min ride on the hotel's free shuttle to the slopes - good size bedroom - comfy bed - decently clean - outdoor hot tub

Review 68:The breakfast was disappointing. Few choices and alternative to milk for people with lactose I tolerance

Review 69:The room was beautiful and comfortable and the location is great for hiking on mount Killington. The receptionists are very nice

Review 70:The room we were given was full of trash, door to balcony was open, bed was unmade, and towels were everywhere. Next room given was nice but closet was boarded up shower was rusty and crumbly. Pool was dirty/cloudy, ice machine had no ice and what did come out had a chunk of whitish black stuff in it.

Review 71:The continental breakfast was great and the staff was friendly and accomodating!

Review 72:It was a cozy hotel, but the stale musty smell when you enter the hotel was what we noticed the most. No room service was an issue as well. Chipped ceiling in room and bathroom. Rooms need updating.

Review 73:Could not get really warm water in shower on Sunday. Maybe I just got up too late and all the hot water was gone. Also had problems getting hairdryer to work. Had to pull plug partially out to get it to work.

Review 74:It was very clean.

Review 75:Parking lot has a few pot holes... nothing major. Need better pillows.

Review 76:the indoor hot tub was HOT (good) and the pool was cool. The staff opened the outdoor Hot Tub for us and it was Excellent (HOT), private. Location is near Moguls, Outback (great Music/house band) and many restaurants on the Killington road. BIG fireplace in lobby. Good fridge !

Review 77:Hotel is somewhat outdated, but very clean.

Review 78:The room had a spectacular view of the Green Mountains, with a look out point from two balconies. The fireplace burning actual logs reflected a warm ambiance upon entry. A basket of fresh, Vermont- grown apples were always available. Staff was very friendly and informative. Great value for the price. Convenient location to slopes.

Review 79:The room showed wear and tear of ski season before ski season. Place generally run down. Smelled like cigarette smoke.

Review 80:Apple cider and cookies upon arrival.

Review 81:Liked everything - staff, facility, location. Hope to return.

Review 82:comfortable beds, clean rooms, ideal location for what we planned to do, unexpected FULL breakfast and lap[ pool and hot tub on site. We didn't use the spa that was advertised. A lot included for the price! Very accommodating staff and pleasant places to 'hang out' with friends or meet new people in several areas - inside and out of the hotel itself. On a golf course, for those who like to play the game.

Review 83:Quality of hotel overall. Needs a drastic update to all areas. All facilities ageing badly and decor/fittings need urgent attention. Very poor breakfast offering, suggest any visitors visit local cafés/resturaunts if they want a decent breakfast.

Review 84:Great location.

Review 85:This was a very good place to stay very hard to find something you didn't like.

Review 86:I liked the hot tub and pool, staff was very knowledgeable about the area, gave me great recommendations even called the store's to see if they had what I was looking for. I work in the hotel industry as well so I know they went above and beyond to make my stay very pleasant. Will definitely be returning next year.

Review 87:The pool. The pool and hot tub were disappointing. The indoor pool was barely heated (read -- cold) and it was really weird. The liner of the pool was separating from the walls and was loose, it looking pretty funky. Once you were in the pool you could feel the gravel and sand under the liner which was even odder. The outdoor hot tub was alright but it was super chlorine-y so I didn't stay in long.

Review 88:Overall the hotel was good. It was in a fantastic location about 5 minutes away from Killington. When we were staying they had a continental breakfast every morning, which was pretty good, there was a selection of bagels and pastries plus eggs and home fries. They also showed two movies each night (this I didn't participate in, but it looked interesting). This is a good choice if you're seeking a reasonably priced hotel near killington!

Review 89:The décor and finishes are tired. The place needs an uplift.

Review 90:By being there in the off-season you don't have crowds and the facilities are readily available.

Review 91:Spa people got preferred treatment at breakfast. Won't care, but felt like we were the second class guests

Review 92:Location View to golf course Mountain air Balconies in summer

Review 93:rooms and hotel in general very tired and desperately needs updating. Breakfast O.K. but nothing to write home about at all.

Review 94:location, the spacious room/suite, the bed was pretty comfy, the in-house activities like Movie nights. Also would rate it a good value for the money since most accommodations for the area for 2 nights with breakfast are priced well over the $250 range.

Review 95:It was great to look out my room window and see the beautiful mountains and the ski runs. A golf course backs up to the Inn property which makes this a nice location no matter what season.

Review 96:Updates needed. Furniture ripped, carpet stained, needed a good makeover.

Review 97:Charming, staff was great, check in a breeze, was able to get some ffood right at closing time.

Review 98:The only negative of the entire weekend was the grass being mowed at 6 am on the neighboring golf course on a Sunday morning.

Review 99:We booked last minute for a weekend getaway. The photos online do not do justice to this hotel. It was very nice and centrally located on Killington Rd.

Review 100:It was very outdated and the rugs were dirty. The pictures on the internet must have been taken 20 years ago and time has taken its toll. The room fee would of been fair at 49.00 a night but not in the 80 s like we paid.

Review 101:It seems as though every time we visit, the building itself get more worse for wear. The first room we were in should be gutted and redone. The skylight had an obvious leak at some point with mold growing and the blinds they had up had big holes in it. They must have had to upgrade their sprinkler systems, but they just cut jagged holes around the heads... looks like some kids did it. There were fire detectors just hanging off the wall and fixtures with burnt out bulbs. The hallways we partially painted and there were spiders webs across them. The exterior of the resort needs a huge face lift and the balconies need attention. My wife felt a little unsafe with the adjoining room only having one door separating us, ours apparently was taken off but the hardware remained. I feel bad writing all these negatives, we honeymooned there years ago and it was great then, just feels like they are just letting it go.

Review 102:The staff at the front desk were very accommodating. When we had an issue with the room, they moved us with very promptly to a bigger room. They were polite and courteous.

Review 103:Only thing that bothered me is when we went to get breakfast the hiking spa was waited on and given better food. I would have liked the option. I was berated for getting Tea in the breakfast room later in the day. You do not provide tea only coffee in the rooms.

Review 104:Everything, great view, lots to do in the area.

Review 105:Breakfast, pool was not open on time staff made us wait an additional 1/2 hour at entrance of pool before they opened it 2 hours after posted opening time, noise level from road was horrible

Review 106:Room size, pool

Review 107:That it's a work in progress with all the construction.

Review 108:Location, Location, Location

Review 109:The facilities were under renovation, but that couldn't be helped.

Review 110:The facilities (pool table, lodge, good dinners and excellent chef, jacuzzi).

Review 111:The hotel was under construction, which was supposed to be finished back in October. No pool, or hot tub. The entire first floor was closed.

Review 112:Had an awesome time everything was great including the breakfast and the staff :)

Review 113:Great location and friendly staff. Very clean and well kept. Loved the fireplaces.

Review 114:Nothing

Review 115:The hotel wasn't busy and the front desk allowed us to stay until 2:30pm when the usual checkout is 12pm

Review 116:Spacious, comfortable room. Large choice for breakfast in attractive dining room.

Review 117:The continental breakfast looked beautiful but was not efficient filling coffee pots, clearing tables , finding silverware etc.

Review 118:air conditioner hummed all night, toliet would run off and on thru the night, some areas still needed updated

Review 119:room was spacious and somewhat newer.

Review 120:overpriced

Review 121:location

Review 122:a bit pricey, but given peak foliage season, not so bad

Review 123:great location, nice staff, decent place

Review 124:There are no comments available for this review

Review 125:customer service is good

Review 126:It was all I expected and more !

Review 127:Very personable staff. Willingness to help any way possible.

Review 128:Noisy electric air conditioner

Review 129:Great staff. Great location. Great view.

Review 130:The tv had some king of weird setup that wouldn't play sound from the device we brought with us.

Review 131:lcation
