Reviews for Guesthouse da Sé
Review 1:Room very cold , we had to use the stove to another room ( empty ) because one was not enough . Bathroom absolutely frozen , due to a large window is not isolated but in the end the price for the accommodation was more than enough .
Review 2:Small room in a very old building on the main square of the city , pedestrian ; 50 meters from the beautiful cathedral , beautiful atmosphere . Pubs and restaurants within a few meters . Common kitchen enough equipped and very helpful . daniel , the manager , is an extremely friendly and helpful . excellent privacy .
Review 3:Every detail has been taken care of. It's a renovated building and it's been designed with very good taste. The personnel were more than helpful and the localization just perfect.
Review 4:Nothing
Review 5:Daniel is a great host; proud of Guarda and Hostal Da Se and he has all the right to be so! Very nice old style redecorated house with nice bright rooms. Located in the city centre opposite the Cathedral, bars and coffeeshops aithin 1 minute walk. Relaxing atmosphere, highly recommended !
Review 6:This is in the heart of the old city of Guarda, highest in Portugal. The proprietor Daniel is a very interesting guy to talk to, explaining much about Guarda, the region, and all of Portugal to us. The rooms are in a very old stone building with a kitchen. It was clean.
Review 7:nothing bad here
Review 8:+ super friendly host Daniel + perfectly located + cheap and clean + full aquipemented kitchen + delicious dinner available every evening for 3€ 100% recommendation
Review 9:During the weekend, there was some noise coming from the streets, because of the proximity of some bars. But it was ok after using hearplugs.
Review 10:Quality/price more than excellent. Old renovated house, clean towels, clean sheets, heated rooms. Room was much bigger than stated on the website (it was around 16 square meters). Staff (Daniel) was super nice, and he even offered to pick up, and bring back to the bus station. Location right in the middle of the old city center, close to shops, cafe's, restaurants, and old monuments. If I'm back, I'll stay in the same place for sure!
Review 11:Despite the big sign on wall telling us we'd found the place (up on the first floor), it was very hard to find the entrance as this wasn't marked at all. Luckily a local took pity on us. We never saw the owner (or any other guests) and left the money in the room!
Review 12:Fabulous location overlooking the cathedral square and charming, old fashioned interior. Upstairs kitchen and dining area was a real bonus. Parking only a short walk away behind cathedral.
Review 13:This hostel is placed in an old building, interior of the building is partly reconstructed, rooms are small and despite big bathroom, really small shower bath are used. During our stay wi-fi connection does not work and the was none who can manage it. But biggest issue is the cleanness of shared places!!! All other problems could be overlooked, but this ruins nice feeling from the hostel. Due to this we cannot recommended for longer stay...
Review 14:Perfect location in the middle of the historical centre or Guarda. Fully equipped kitchen is perfect choice for backpackers, but big issue is the cleanness. Despite the kitchen is new, we had problem to use it, because we did not have good feeling of putting stuff to the kitchen table and else...
Review 15:Everything. When we got in, we were greeted by the owner who let us choose which room we'd want and we had one facing the main town square. Then he brought us to a friend's restaurant (and he came along with lots of siblings!) who turned out to be excellent. After that, they also brought us to watch the full moon with a group of amateurs astronomers. He also invited to other events the day after. The room was clean and nice.
Review 16:Daniel was a great host. the only suggestion I would have is that he was more available on site. When we arrived no one answered the door. After knocking and waiting a while we had to call him. Another couple had the same experience. There is also a bar nextdoor and there was partying throughout the night. It was a bit difficult to sleep. Other than that the place was exceptional value
Review 17:Just water little cold sometimes, but it's almost nothing.
Review 18:I liked the owner whose very nice and helpful, the house is really traditional with some old items. Room is nice too, old fashion and quiet. I really recommend it for the quality and the price.
Review 19:Ho(s)tel was still under construction. Even while staying there for a whole week no one did ask about emptying the trash in the room or about housekeeping. Wifi did not work either.
Review 20:Located in the city center. Nice simple furniture and style of the house (bright rooms). Offers a kitchen for self-catering.
Review 21:Most important value of this place is a great owner!
Review 22:the host - Daniel was really helpful - met us at the station at 3 a.m. in the morning!! The house is old and incredibly beautiful.
Review 23:Nothing.

Review 34:Not very clean, garbage not removed. Dirty kitchen, no light in dining room. Very tiny shower.
Review 35:Very good location close to Cathedral
Review 36:Shower was pretty poor.
Review 37:The guy who looked after us was a nice person. He said he has got a Project. And I liked his ambition.
Review 38:Late check in was a little inconvienient
Review 39:Location was great and value for money amazing
Review 40:Very friendly owner, great location and excellent value for money! Room was a good size and overlooked the main town square.Would definitely visit again. Local people were all very helpful.
Review 41:This is an old home (300 yr old?, with half metre thick walls) which is currently in the process of being restored by the owner Daniel. While the hotel furnishings and facilities are modest at the moment, it was the best value for money hotel we had in Portugal and Spain. It was a great central location in the middle of the old city. The room we were in had a window balcony which looked out into the old town square. Will definitely go back there, and I look forward to seeing it fully restored.
Review 42:There was nothing to dislike
