Reviews for Cortina Inn & Resort
Review 1:Yes the place is dated but not enough to detract from our stay. From what I could see, the majority of places were a little worse for wear.
Review 2:It was a decent location about a 10 minute drive from the Killington slopes. The fire place area was great and they always had coffee/tea/cocoa available. Late afternoons they had cookies. The staff was very nice.
Review 3:Not the most modern hotel, wish the room had a refrigerator.
Review 4:Good location close to mountain, enjoyed the free breakfast very much. The facilities are older but have charm. Not head over heels but for the price it was a nice stay.
Review 5:Moved the date to MLK weekend due to lack of snow- no problem and kept booking price. After horrible stay night before at nearby hotel it was a breath of fresh air. They asked where we wanted our room- we were right near the pool which was great for the kids. The pool could be a touch warmer but not complaining- really! Fresh cookies and tea/coffee at check-in. Great recessed area near a large fireplace as you walk in great for relaxing. Huge rec room downstairs with ping pong/pool/football. Great for restless kids to stretch their legs! Clean room- some cosmetic problems but they clearly care about the experience. Would stay a week if we could! And breakfast was great and well-rounded. Honestly could go on and on!
Review 6:No decaf tea or coffee available Not enough outlets in the room Suggestion: A bar/lounge would really add a nice touch.
Review 7:Coziness and welcoming atmosphere Awesome breakfast!
Review 8:Hot tub didn't have any bubbles
Review 9:Pet friendly. We brought our cat Smokey Joe with us and he felt at home. It was very close the Killington and Pico Mtn. Minutes away. Food choices were awesome and not a far drive. Nice pool and hot tub and game rooms downstairs. Beds were comfortable. Clean room and awesome breakfast!
Review 10:Desk clerk had to be called via phone several times. Wasn't easily found. No extra blankets or pillows in room. Back door to room couldn't be locked. It was broken and unless we had checked, we would not have known.
Review 11:Common room looked inviting.
Review 12:Horrible small in lobby when you first walk in. No mirror in bed room. No refrigerator unless you pay extra each day. Breakfast was pretty slim pickings.
Review 13:A bit run down hotel, the glory days is clearly a couple of decades ago.
Review 14:Nice staff Large rooms The hotel has a kind of Twin Peaks feeling to it, kind of cool.
Review 15:Staff was not helpful when we asked for information. Breakfast was the same everyday. C
Review 16:Clean, good central location to see fall foliage. Cookies at night, coffee and hot chocolate always available.
Review 17:It was VERY noisy. People overhead sounded like they were in our room, only heavier footsteps. They fought until 4 a.m. and her name was Sarah. Can't repeat his.
Review 18:Location and price; obviously they are under new ownership/mgmt. and are trying very hard. Beautiful facility that is in need of big bucks to overhaul.
Review 19:Breakfast on Wednesday yucky . Juices warm and flies at pastries .
Review 20:Location, tea provided all day , very clean breakfast on tues nice . Game room fun , entrance very inviting
Review 21:Maps online did not show correct location. We had to call for directions. Hotel is a little dated, but room was very nice and clean.
Review 22:Staff was very nice and helpful.
Review 23:Newer room on bottom floor. Surprised how nice the rooms and facility was compared to other budget hotels in area. Even had free breakfast, evening cookies and cider. Def coming back.
Review 24:Nothing from the staff to no a/c, no screen window did not lock, mold in shower, boot print on "clean" towel, no refrig but did say he could get us one for $10, booked a room with balcony and patio and did not receive that!
Review 25:Location great!
Review 26:No staff member present during check in, we stood around for 15 minutes waiting for assistance. We phoned as directed but received no response. AC was broken so room was hot.
Review 27:Comfortable bed and pillows, all toiletries provided.
Review 28:I didn't stay long enough to enjoy the facilities so I couldn't rate it any higher.
Review 29:Excellent location close to Killington. Was really nice and clean.
Review 30:Tried an earlier check in but it was a no go. The inn was booked solid so I guess i can understand why.
Review 31:It was VERY clean and had a nice pool. Staff was friendly. Bed comfortable. Lobby cozy
Review 32:Pictures are deceiving. Very dated. Even the updated rooms are pretty bad which makes it look gross and dirty. Staff was very nice. The price of the hotel for how dated it was is definitely not worth it. And no breakfast!
Review 33:Staff was very nice.
Review 34:The room was a little dark. The tub did not have anti-slip on the bottom of it. I nearly slipped and fell getting in the shower.
Review 35:The grounds and hotel is beautiful. The staff is friendly and helpful. It was great not having to walk my dog through the whole building to take him outside thanks to the patio door for our room.
Review 36:Room was a little too warm for sleeping. Air c ery noisy and did't cool room. A light continental breakfast would be nice because it's a drive to get any type of food.
Review 37:Room was spotlessly clean and very well decorated. High vaulted ceilings and door to outside covered porch[we were on second floor]
Review 38:Common areas not that great, just fine. Lower level not good, needs improvement, at least fresh paint, cleaning and removal of some old objects. Dog friendliness is ok for Dog owners, but for people with young kids its not that great when people with huge dogs are just walking by as if you are in a dog park. They need to have a separate area with separate entrance for people with dogs! I like pets, but my child was scared a couple of times!!! Need some improvement in that area, not everyone want to sit on a same couch with a dog that was just walking outside etc. ...
Review 39:Rooms are good, especially for the price. Spacious, clean and modern.
Review 40:Bed was uncomfortable and pillows were huge which extremely uncomfortable. I ended up just sleeping on a towel. Breakfast was horrible; worst coffee I've ever had. Stains on ceiling in room.
Review 41:Got a great deal using discounted price on kayak.com which we got what we paid for (cheap). Had great freshly baked cookies in lobby and nice fire place to sit by.
Review 42:Need to upgrade the games in the game room. Everything is a bit tired looking and semi-broken.
Review 43:Good value for money. Pool and hot tub Fireplace in the middle is great. Staff was very nice and accommodating.
Review 44:The pillows were to fluffy gave us all a sore neck went to walmart to buy a few no refrigerators in the rooms breakfast was fair coffee was awful all three days couldn't drink it and I drink it black parking lot was a sheet of ice 6 inches thick may have damaged my car in one of the ruts
Review 45:Rooms were clean hot tub was good pool was ok
Review 46:The pool and hot tub was a very nice amenity after skiing all day. The rooms have all been redecorated and are very clean. The staff where friendly and helpful, the breakfast on Sat was hot food, on Thursday less of a choice with no hot eggs etc, but everyday hot waffles. The home made cookies in the evening in the lobby were excellent!
Review 47:The WiFi was slow but functional. The game room was slacking.
Review 48:I liked the overall visit and the fact that the hotel was in the middle of everything. Staff was great.
Review 49:indoor pool was way to cold, are room had big cracks in ceiling, the hotel dose not seem to be upkeep to well.the rooms don't look like the pitcher.hot tube was old and didn't work right.
Review 50:not much to like, but the one thing my family did enjoy was the fire place in the lobby.we also like that it had all kinds of ad's of things to do.
Review 51:Not much pool area is a little dated but still clean and kids loved it.
Review 52:What a deal.. Everything one picks on the breakfast. It is great full hot breakfast for free, nothing wrong with that and it was quite tasty. It compared to any hamption in breakfast and was even better I think.. Room clean and updated :)
Review 53:I though the room was a bit outdated and used if you would. They need to do some refurbishing, especially in the bathroom.
Review 54:The breakfast is included in the room rate which is nice, they also have jacuzzi and sauna.
Review 55:The hot tub was extremely hot- however, we figured out, if you do not run the bubbles, the water temperature is more tolerable.
Review 56:The stay was very comfortable and the staff was friendly. We stayed for a few nights and visited Killington Mt as well as Pico, both were within 10 minutes of the hotel. It was snowing and our group did not feel like driving around after being on the mountain all day long, so we were able to order delivery food from iPie in Killington and the food was delivered to our room door. Excellent stay! And the breakfast- they have make your own cereal, oatmeal, English muffins with choices of jelly, cream cheese, peanut butter as well as some hot breakfast on the weekends. 24 hour coffee and tea as well. We really enjoyed ourselves and would recommend you try this place out.
Review 57:We chose this hotel because it had a pool and hot tub. However, the hot tub was way too hot to use!!! Staff told us it was always like that, even tho it was properly set. Maybe they should get someone to recalibrate/replace the thermostat. Room was too dark even tho there were 3 lamps in there. We ran out of toilet paper one day, and didn't get fresh towels the next. Bathroom had peeling wallpaper and funky looking grout. TV reception was poor every day, except the day we had none! Breakfast was scary looking.
Review 58:It was close to Killington for skiing. The bed was very comfortable. We stayed in this hotel years ago when they had a pub and restaurant and were disappointed that they were gone, but decided to go anyway because of the pool and hot tub.
Review 59:I did not have a bad experience here at all.
Review 60:The staff was very friendly and helpful, pretty good equipment in the fitness area, and the pool and hot tub were working great. Big open seating around the fireplace too.
Review 61:We had a great time here. Staff was warm and inviting and facilities were very clean and cozy. Rooms were also very clean with soft sheets and pillows. The only thing that would've been nice to have was a small refrigerator...primarily for beer. 10/10 though, and will definitely come back. Also, the diamond express shuttle that stops across the street will get you to pico mountain or killington for $2.
Review 62:Kind of a funky little hotel. Everything was fine except one night I went to take a bath and filled up the tub and the water was greenish.
Review 63:The price was good, heating was good, only 10 mins from ski mountain
Review 64:Nothing really. Only complain is it would be nice to have a buffet breakfast everyday like they have on weekends, but do have a light breakfast of cereal, breads and fruit during the week.
Review 65:The price was great. Hotel was quiet and the staff was friendly. Room was house cleaned everyday. Hotel staff was friendly and helpful.
Review 66:Hot tub was ridiculously hot, pool was cold, only continental breakfast during the week. Would have rated excellent with those improvements
Review 67:Clean place, friendly staff, comfortable atomesphere, close to ski mountains
Review 68:BACK PART OF BUILDING WHERE YOU WENT INTO OUR ROOM WAS KIND OF DARK AND SEEMED NEGLECTED
Review 69:THE LOBBY IS VERY NICE WITH THE FIRE GOING THE GAMES DOWNSTAIRS WERE NICE FOR KIDS POOL AND PING PONG
Review 70:The controls on the heating system were not working right. Heat worked but need to be calibrated. Maid left window open to cool it off while we out and that cause the room to get to 89 because she did not close the window. Probably a minor fix. we managed to get it to regulate. Stuff happens.
Review 71:Fire pit seating area a great retreat from the room. Standard room amenities. Hot tub super hot. Breakfast average, Waffles nice touch. Complementary hot beverages also nice touch. All in all We would stay here again.
Review 72:Price was a little high and I was told that I had a great rate at $320 a night. I was disappointed that there wasn't a restaurant or a bar open on site and I would expect that the lobby and game room area would have been more updated although it was clean it was dark and outdated. I feel that $200-$250 would have been a more appropriate nightly rate for this inn until renos were completed.
Review 73:Staff was extremely professional, polite, and very accommodating . Really went the extra mile answered every question brought extra towels promptly even provided a glass of milk after hours. Breakfast was terrific. Room was beautiful, very comfortable and clean. Felt very safe traveling alone with my children. Definitely stay again.
Review 74:There was a large family from NJ who thought they owned the place. They were making considerable noise at 6am extending to 12am. They took over the common areas and were rude to other guests. We tried to watch the Patriots AFC championship game. Who knew a hotel would not have a major network on their satellite provider. CBS should have been available.
Review 75:Proximity to mountains. Breakfast was great! My kids had plenty to do while we were at the hotel.
Review 76:The only negatives about the place is the rooms don't have a microwave. You have to go downstairs to the lobby and use the one by the elevator which sucked. Also the WiFi is not password protected which left my laptop open to hackers. My laptop ended up with a keylogger installed and they got into my bank account. (Nightmare)
Review 77:I stayed for 5 days in December. I wanted to get away from NYC. The place is beautiful. The room was great and the staff super friendly. I went during the week of a crazy snow storm that managed to knock out the power for a few minutes a couple of times.
Review 78:This place has a potential to be great if only small repairs were up to date and breakfast was less basic. Clean but seems neglected in spots (some paint peeling, some wholes in carpet, game room not well maintained). Would add stronger coffee and yogurt and bananas for breakfast.
Review 79:Good location and value for skiing in Killington. Cozy and friendly atmosphere. Nice pool and jacuzzi . Afternoon home made cookies were nice. Very nice central area with tables, armchairs and fireplace to relax outside of room after a day of hard skiing.
Review 80:The decor needs to be updated. Breakfast needs work
Review 81:Overall the Cortina Inn is a great place to stay. It is the only pet friendly hotel near Killington. TThe location is great. The staff was accommodating.
Review 82:Wanted fires in other fireplaces near front door and in lower level... no heat downstairs for the kids....
Review 83:Location to mountain is great. Pool and jacuzzi and lower level are all very good. Great area for kids to run around!! Breakfast was great!
Review 84:The breakfast is weak, below caliber of most places in VT - few choices, mediocre quality. Wifi is not good, don't count on it for more than basic email and web searching
Review 85:It is a bit away from the mtn, if that is ok with you, it is a good value. Nice pool
Review 86:There was a Front Desk Concierge who seemed confused upon check in. She assigned a room that was not cleaned yet, but then resolved it. She told us that "there was no restaurant", but we found out later from another employee that they do serve breakfast. Breakfast's main meal was not hot, and not tasty, but they had hard boiled eggs and an assortment of breads, bagels and cereal as a good option. They need to get the restaurant going again. There was a large pool area, but the pool was too cold and hot tub was too hot to go into. Heating system in the room had a blower that was noisy and had a complicated thermostat. Good potential.
Review 87:Good location which was a 10 minute drive to ski resort. The staff was very friendly and "mostly" helpful. We arrived on a Thursday with only one other room booked, and actually got a "tour" of the facility. The big fireplace in the middle of the lobby was one of our favorite things, with the fire constantly going and an agreement that you could BYOB of wine or beer. Very relaxing area. The hotel Manager looks like he is trying to refurbish the hotel to what it was like "in it's prime". Old hotel that needs some work, but we appreciated the efforts in progress.
Review 88:The Cortina was amazing, first time there for both my girlfriend and me. First impression: wow, this is nice, and wow this is clean. Classic ski lodge vibe, fireplace, tea and cookies for guests, rooms were modern and beds were perfect after a hard day of skiing. Staff was super nice too!
Review 89:- Bad WiFi - Staff could be a little bit more informed, but they're not bad.
Review 90:- Great value for me and 3 other friends to go skiing. - Rooms were very nice - Hot tub and pool are a nice extra
Review 91:Cortina is in the middle of everything(Mt. Pico, Mt Killington, large town of Rutlund) Tons of stores and restaurants. Pool, hot tub, and center fireplace in lobby.
Review 92:Our room was close to the pool area and we could hear the ventilation pumps from there through the walls. We left late our first day and maid service never came back.
Review 93:Just before ski season the place was quiet. Nice fireplace was kept going the whole time. Whirlpool was nice and the play room was simple distraction
Review 94:Asked for fire to be started in sitting area by lobby. Evening manager said he would but didn't! It was snowing that night & would have enjoyed it!
Review 95:nothing comes to mind
Review 96:+Convenient for our one night stay while passing though +Large rooms +Comfortable/cozy beds +Large and diverse breakfast buffet
Review 97:Wifi connection wasn't that great.
Review 98:Although my sister & I were only here for one day in the Fall, we really enjoyed the Inn! People were nice, the staff was very helpful and the location is excellent.
Review 99:A bit dated, folksy - but this is a ski area so it is probably what is expected. The breakfast area is a little bleak and has a " hostel" feel. Not easy to find in the first instance as the sat nav didn't recognise the address.
Review 100:The price is very reasonable for a very large room with comfortable beds, good bathroom, parking and helpful staff. Clean and cheerful. Large communal areas with sofas and diy tea and coffee always available.
Review 101:The only drawback were the size (too small) and feel ( a little rough) of the towels.
Review 102:The breakfast and the location were ideal for our family, staff was friendly, and the hotel was clean. I will stay there again next year for the Spartan Race!!!
Review 103:Friendly service at check in, cozy room for us and our pup. The large seating area at the fireplace was appreciated. We snuggled up with our pup and had snacks that we brought with us. Nice grounds to walk with pup also.
Review 104:Location on RT 4. We were in the front so when outside on little patio, traffic noise loud. However, very quiet if in the room.
Review 105:Spent Columbus Day weekend at Cortina. Loved the fireplace, great spot to relax with friends at the end of the night. Staff very helpful and courteous. Very reasonably priced for a busy and popular weekend. Beds comfy.
Review 106:The room was hot and the air conditioner did little to cool it.
Review 107:Bed was very comfortable, the room was very clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful.
Review 108:Similar evening fare at extra fee so we did not have to go out
Review 109:Old time charm with modern facilities. Large Breakfast area and adequate continental fare with many choices
Review 110:The booking.com overview never mentions pool, jacuzzi or exercise room. It should! I would have been better prepared to fully access the amenities
Review 111:Very informative staff, polite, and easy going too.
Review 112:Check in process/lack of staff, bugs in room, TV remote worked intermittently, pool was freezing, hot tub was out of order, wallpaper bubbling, cracks in ceiling, room was dusty, no mini-fridge.
Review 113:Price of the room, had the pool to ourselves, bed was comfy
Review 114:TV remote didn't work. Went and got more batteries, still didn't work. Had to change channels by hand. Very few channels, about 10
Review 115:Value, quality of room
Review 116:Booked this hotel because we wanted a hot tub. It was down. Wanted to go to another hotel, didn't want to lose our deposit. They charge $10 a night to get a mini-frig. For the price, it should have been included.
Review 117:Very nice room. Staff very friendly and accommodating. Good location.
Review 118:Last day leaving I unfortunately came across a few small round bugs sharing the shower with me ( perhaps Vermont beatle of some sort) being near wooded area.
Review 119:Two nights at the Inn were very comfoirtable, Welcoming staff and exchange student support staff were extremely hospitable and enjoyed their experiences. The included breakfast was quite good and fresh.
Review 120:The staff were exceptionally friendly and after a week in chain hotels, this inn was an oasis. It was an accidental booking since all the hotels along 87 were full. Clinch highlight was twilight dinner on the terrasse of the Vermont Inn less than a mile away. Also highly recommended. We'll be back. Did we mention the huge pool with a 10foot deep end! Wow!
Review 121:I loved that it had all kinds of ad's of things to do . It does encourage people to have fun on their vacation. Loved the wide varity of fruit on the bar for breakfast. So happy to see fresh blueberries.
Review 122:No Bar or Lounge on Premises and, they don't offer a full compliment of cable T.V. like CNN.
Review 123:Location
Review 124:Nothing to report.
Review 125:Excellent breakfast. Family oriented resort. Location 10 minutes from the slopes and also 10 minutes from nearest city (Rutland).
Review 126:Soundproofing of this place is zero. Can hear people talking and walking
Review 127:Rooms little out dated
Review 128:Love fireplace n breakfast buffet !!!
Review 129:Maid service and the ceiling dripping into the pool.
Review 130:Liked the fire place, hot tub, complimentary breakfast/dinners, and location.
Review 131:Need a mini fridge in the room.
Review 132:Pricing is affordable.
Review 133:Stronger coffee during breakfast please.
Review 134:Food, staff, pool, hot tub, and ambience was excellent. Fireplace was a plus!
Review 135:Snow was scarce bur hotel was great!
Review 136:The staff is great and treat us like family versus guests! They always were helpful and went above and beyond!
Review 137:Comfy beds. Lovely fire. Friendly staff. Great value.
