Reviews for Millennium Bostonian Hotel

Review 1:The hotel was very comfortable and the staff at the front desk and at the valet stand was very friendly and helpful. They went out of their way to make sure we had a nice stay - giving us advice where to go and how best to get there.

Review 2:This stay was a bit tainted by the staff at the hotel. I have never had a problem at all but this trip they were quite rude.

Review 3:I love everything about the hotel, which is why we stay regularly.

Review 4:We paid for a Deluxe room with balcony and historic view four months prior to arriving. We arrived at 2:45pm to check in. When we checked in they tried to put us at the rear of the hotel. When I complained they spent quite awhile looking for another room. They told us that they had a front room but it wasn't ready. Finally at 5:30pm our room was ready. We ended up with a balcony overlooking an alleyway. This was New Years Eve and we expected to be overlooking the Party outside. I just can't understand how we were pushed aside. They offered me $50.00 off the $550.00 room price which they never did give me.

Review 5:Location

Review 6:The room was beautiful and clean! Restaurant was amazingly delicious, just a beautiful Hotel. We were in an amazing location, but we did not feel like we were exposed or crunched into a small space!

Review 7:Room pricing really jumps at holiday periods. New Years, almost 2X for the one night, stayed there for 3 total nights.

Review 8:Location, right at Faneuil Hall and waterfront, but still an easy walk to Boston Common. Haymarket T station 1 block away, subway to all of Boston/Cambridge

Review 9:The hotel is undergoing renovations. This meant, because they are doing the rooms one by one, that our room was next to construction. SO..........at 7:00a we were awakened to those pounding sounds. Now I get that the hotel needs to remain functional while upgrading, but they should close off the floor or larger portions of the floor when construction is being done. There is no reason to inconvenience guests while they squeeze every last dime out of the operation. I will NOT return until that construction has been completed. There are too many other options in Boston that would not put me through that.

Review 10:Great location, easy access to all that Boston has to offer. Comfortable room. Usual amenities

Review 11:The front desk assigned us to a room that someone else was already staying in. Needless to say that walking in on unexpecting people was both uncomfortable and awkward. Definitely a little bit scary on how that happened.

Review 12:The location could not be more central to Faneuil Hall and we had an incredible view.

Review 13:The location and all of the staff was very friendly and attentive. We also got a great night's sleep because the bed and pillows were very comfortable.

Review 14:My only one slight hiccup was the wifi, for the cost of the rooms to pay $10 a day was a bit much and the strength wasn't that great in our room. Tiny issue.

Review 15:The location was perfect. A few minutes from the airport by taxi. We were on our honeymoon so I had booked a room with a view of Quincy Market and it is so worth the extra. After our long flight, opening the balcony doors and seeing it in front of us was beautiful, as was it every morning. The flower boxes were well maintained, they had my nanny's favourite flowers so it was very sweet. Staff were friendly and efficient from reception to porters and door staff. A warm welcome was received every time. The bed was amazingly comfortable....perfect!!

Review 16:The bed in the first allocated room ( 731) was totally nackered andshouldnt have been assigned in the first place. It left us sleeping onthe floor despite them being informed immediately upon arrival thatthe bed was unusable.. Room was still charged at the highest rate forthat night

Review 17:Being upgraded after a night on the floor because of a very dilapidatedmattress on the bed in the first room allocated -731

Review 18:Noise being created by renovations on same floor. Started too early in the morning, and excessive banging and hammering was bad enough to give us headaches. No laundry facilities.

Review 19:Close everything.

Review 20:Had to pay for wi fi which considering price of room was a disgrace also unknown to us before hand there was a $100 per night fee taken incase of damage which would be returned if no damage occurred this came to $600 and took a week to clear back into my account taking a chunk of my holiday spends

Review 21:Location was great and the room decent majority of staff were nice

Review 22:This trendy hotel is in the perfect location with easy access to many historical sites, good restaurants, shopping and transportation. We were surprised by the quietness of our room given the busy location. Our room was spacious and comfortable including a large bathroom with full size bathtub plus a large, separate shower. There was plenty of storage. We would certainly recommend this hotel to friends and family.

Review 23:Very clean. Room to move around. Extra things, like the robe, towels were thicker than some places. Very happy with the place. Actually like the website. I would stay again if I go back to Boston.

Review 24:Room was very small, had stairs within it, which made moving our luggage more difficult. Couldn't control the heat, and the hotel wanted to charge us for every device to connect to the Internet. Not sure in the end if we really saved any money.

Review 25:The hotel was close to the train station, which allowed us to save a cab fare. Restaurant served a hearty and tasty breakfast and the wait staff was very attentive, even though a large group arrived at the same time as us.

Review 26:No tea / coffee making facilities in the room, something you get in even the basic of hotels now. The hallways were a bit dark and dated.

Review 27:Room was large, clean, and with a good view. Location, Over looking Quincy Market, a must see if staying here. Room was spacious and clean, with a great view. Staff were helpful and pleasant. Bathroom was large, and very clean, a shower only no bath. A safe was in the room. Large comfy bed, and good air conditioning.

Review 28:There is no hotel parking but they will valet park for you in a nearby garage. That was great but a little pricey if someone is on a budget.

Review 29:The location was fabulous. We loved the fact we could literally walk across the street to the markets and restaurants.

Review 30:The beds are nothing special along with the amenities. No free WiFi, no HD TV, or premium channels.

Review 31:The location is excellent. Right across from Freedom Trail and Quincy Market.

Review 32:Noise, too much noise for this kind of luxury hotel. Or change the windows to better cancel external noise + audit internal noises - I had the feeling to sleep in a helicopter. No restroom in lobby.

Review 33:Location is great, just near Quincy Market. Room are good and clean. Staff is helpful.

Review 34:I didn't like the price. Charging extra for essentials in today's travel, i.e . water, WiFi ,breakfast, is just price gouging.

Review 35:I liked the location.

Review 36:Could hear guest in the next room. Sometimes I can even make out what they are saying.

Review 37:Close to place to visit. Hop on bus and train system is near by.

Review 38:Hotel staff.

Review 39:Loved the hotel. It is perfectly located for walking to North End, Seaport, and Fanuel Hall. But the staff was so unfriendly. Hope the hotel management gets rid of the front desk girl. She is awful.

Review 40:The Internet service was terrible do not recommend using it.

Review 41:The location was excellent for us everything was within walking distance because we did not have a car.

Review 42:Staff was not very friendly, no refrigerator in room. I asked for refrigerator and was told they would bring one up and never did. It was unbelievable to me that they charged for WIFI and for over $10 a day. TV channels were limited. For the price it was not worth it.

Review 43:The location was excellent and very walkable to all sights.

Review 44:Housekeeping was bad! First full day they called at 4;30 to ask if we wanted our room cleaned even though we had been gone from our room all day. We took towels only. Can't believe with the EXPENCE of the room we would have to pay $9.50 a day for wifi $6.50 for water and $4.50 for a poor tasting cup of coffee. Also we had to book through booking.com to get a somewhat decent rate calling the hotel directly they would not match the rate?

Review 45:We love the location. This was our 3rd stay at the Millenium. The fellow outside as we arrived with the hat. We forget his name is outstanding. Remembered us each visit. Nice touch.

Review 46:To have to pay $10 a day for wifi after the cost of the room is very disappointing. No fresh milk to go with the coffee machine, when asked to bring some up was charged $11 (part milk, part room service) shocking but can't have tea or coffee with no milk. This was our 2nd stay at hotel and wasn't charged on first stay!

Review 47:Very spacious rooms, in a great location, walking distance from most of the sites. Would stay there again, staff friendly and helpful.

Review 48:Would have been even better if breakfast was included for the price.

Review 49:Location was perfect close to Quincy Market. Room was spacious, clean and comfortable.

Review 50:For some reason, they temporarily charged me $100 a night for "incidentals" that was returned to me 24 hours after my stay. Would have liked prior warning at least, my bank thought my card had been stolen and froze my account.

Review 51:Location is prime if you want to see all of Boston! Super close to the airport and right across the street from Faneuil Hall and Quincy Market.

Review 52:The breakfast was good but really too expensive and in 2015 we should not pay for the WIFI.

Review 53:We could transfer our April reservation to September even if it was not included. Our friend had lost her mother... The location is perfect.

Review 54:Great location. Excellent corner room with a view of Faneuil Hall. Restaurant very accomodating and served a good lunch in the middle of the afternoon, when we arrived.

Review 55:Paying for Wifi, having already paid a very large amount for the room, was not reasonable

Review 56:Bathroom: the concierge staff - and the location. The restaurant was also excellent - particularly the breakfasts

Review 57:$10 a day for WiFi, the hotel is worth paying that bit extra for but when paying more I would expect WiFi to be included.

Review 58:The bed was amazingly comfy. Couldn't ask for a better location. Staff were lovely and helpful.

Review 59:Didn't like the pillows.

Review 60:We loved the location, can't beat it. It was central to many tourist sights, especially the Quincy market (food, shopping and performers) and the harbor. Very close to all the trolley tour companies. It seemed everything was walking distance. Didn't need our car once. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The entire downtown area was very safe and clean and full of many dining options. We had a room right next to the busy market area and couldn't hear a thing, the room was great for sound reduction. We barely spent any time in the room as there was so much to see and do. Redsox game is must!

Review 61:The price was a little high for the rooms itself but the location made up for it.

Review 62:The location of the hotel was fantastic. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. They suggested spot on stops for breakfast and dinner.

Review 63:The concierge was never available - even when he was suppose to meet with us. Also, we had difficulty in getting and/or using the room phone. We had to repeatedly ask for ice each day and also for coffee packets to be replaced one day.

Review 64:I personally didn't mind the noise, but the room facing Quincy market could be problematic for some, as there was occasional noise from crowds outside/street performers. The WiFi was included in the cost of the room, but this wasn't clear from the login screen that indicated a $10/day charge. No microwave or refrigerator for personal use in the room. No complimentary breakfast.

Review 65:The hotel room was great and clean, including a very clean and upgraded bathroom. I loved my view and small balcony with beautiful windowbox of geraniums that overlooked the Quincy Market/Fanueil Hall area. I was right in the middle of things--super easy to walk to historic sites, restaurants, and T stops.

Review 66:The air conditioning unit knocked constantly when it went off. This was very annoying because it interrupted my sleep. I told the front desk about it during departure so it could be checked.

Review 67:The location was excellent. Even better than I expected. The street noise was a bit loud at times but for the location it was acceptable. The breakfast in the hotel restaurant was very good too.

Review 68:This is an excellent hotel in a great location for sight seeing. Centrally located to popular Boston attractions. Excellent staff and hotel amenities. Parking price on par with the area, as was the nightly rate. Would stay again.

Review 69:Bar drinks expensive compared to the other establishments in the area. New bed matress needed. Toliet didn't flush well.

Review 70:Location, great friendly staff

Review 71:Staff was gracious. From bellhop to check in. Very gracious staff. I would stay here again and the location was perfect. Right across the street from Quincy market. Can't get better !!

Review 72:Thought the air temperature in the lobby and dining room was very chilly. Would have liked more lighting in the bedroom, also to be able to reach the light switch without getting out of bed.

Review 73:Spacious room and bathroom. Pleasant helpful staff. Good lobster meal. Good position for getting about in Boston.

Review 74:There was no bath (but a shower) as I did expect, according to the description.

Review 75:Very friendly staff, always willing to meet your wishes. The Wi-Fi was free of charge.

Review 76:The wifi charge is not in keeping with most hotels/motels these days.

Review 77:We were pleased with the location for walking and mass transit. The close by Quincy Market was a plus. The lobster dinner special was delicious and a good value.

Review 78:It was expensive due to my stay coinciding with a ballgame. If I had stayed during a different date it would have been more reasonable.

Review 79:Great location, close to attractions and the T. We walked everywhere!

Review 80:Very friendly staff, very accommodating, fresh coffee in lobby in the morning, lemonade in the afternoon. Great proximity to many Boston activities.

Review 81:The phone in my room didn't work. The description said it was a handicap accessible room with a roll in shower it was not. My daughter is in a wheelchair so that is why I asked for a roll in shower. My room service order kept getting messed up because I couldn't call room service directly because of the phone not working so I had to call the front desk on my cell phone and they had to relay the message to room service.

Review 82:The location.

Review 83:The bed was old, creaky, making for restless nights. Careful for the nickel and dimeing, Wifi not included in room price, and if you pay for 24 hour access it, it only allows two devices. Add a third device and you are charged again.

Review 84:Location, location, location. Highly recommend visiting Kathy on the North 26 for a drink and the lobster bake. Great night with friends.

Review 85:Seems unnecessary in this day and age to not have free wifi?

Review 86:Bed was super comfy and the bell boy was charming. The proximity to all things you could need in Boston was great too.

Review 87:For the price, free wi-fi should be included

Review 88:Staff was great. Was my 40th anniversary and 60th BD and the hotel had champagne and dessert waiting in our room on the 1st day.

Review 89:The $10 per day wifi charge is pretty ridiculous, for the cost of the room that should be included. Otherwise I was happy with my stay.

Review 90:Very friendly and helpful staff, great location, overall a pretty good experience.

Review 91:The beds are a bit hard and the sheets are stiff, but everything was really clean. Location can be noisy in the evening - it's literally across the street from Quincy market and Faneuil hall, which is actually quite convenient. Small workout facility.

Review 92:Great service, very accommodating! Nice bathrooms. Convenient location. Lots of pillows. Lots of tv channels.

Review 93:Of course paying for the WiFi. The room was not as spacious as thought.

Review 94:The bed was very comfortable. We were not rushed to checkout of the room at 12hrs which was a good gesture considering distance travelled the day before.

Review 95:I had an issue when booking for my parents surgery date and had to reschedule even though I used booking.com it was horrible to changed and I was charged another $200.00. My parents had tickets for show for the night they were there (had them dropped off the day before) did not recieve them until late the night of the show and missed the show

Review 96:The fact you have to pay for WIFI is an alien concept to Europeans so the hotel charging $10 USD per 24hrs of connection was a bit of a surprise. For the price of the hotel and its rating, WIFI should be free to all hotel guests.

Review 97:The staff are very friendly indeed. They helped me with many requests without hesitation. The location is next to the Quincy Market and the old state house and only a five minute walk from Little Italy (ideal as I was there for the Boston Marathon)

Review 98:At the price paid for a room I would expect to have free Wifi. Not a great amount of facilities at this hotel, just the standard requirements.

Review 99:Location,location,location

Review 100:The coffee situation in the room. Perhaps a little more coffee and some nice mugs would help.

Review 101:The friendly staff and location across from the Quincy Market. Great place close to many major attractions.

Review 102:The location was fantastic and the view from the balcony was great! Easy access to downtown, train, the water, restaurants and easy walking distance to all kinds of things!

Review 103:The room felt and looked cold and uninviting. Bare minimum amenities. Paid internet only - this to me is unacceptable in 2015. Reception staff not very engaging.

Review 104:Location is very convenient, with lots of restaurants around, and an easy access to subway.Room and bathroom very large

Review 105:Wi-Fi is not good.

Review 106:Booked a top floor room with balcony and city view...perfect with the wonderful weather. Rooms were spacious enough. Appointed well. Staff was awsome.

Review 107:Great location, great bed, great customer service, great room service – great all over. Will definitely be recommending to any friends or family visiting the area.

Review 108:We were pleasantly surprised once we arrived and realized how centrally located the hotel is. From the very beginning the doorman, the front desk staff and all others were pleasant and really seemed to care about us as customers. Really enjoyed Patroid ( the doorman), he was just awesome, eager to please us and help us enjoy Boston. Hopefully we will be back.

Review 109:Having to pay for WiFi. It's time the hotel recognized that WIFI should be part of everyday service, like having a kitchen.

Review 110:Very helpful staff at desk and at entrance. I like the book nook location. The picture books are nice, but how about adding a few shelves for reading books where people can pick up an book or leave a book for other people to read. Encourage foreign languages books too, as you have a lot of people who would enjoy that…. Spanish, French German, Russian, polish etc.

Review 111:Why in this day and age did I have to pay for wifi?

Review 112:The hotel was friendly, clean, gave a good vibe, location is perfect to Quincy Market, Mass General and Theater District!

Review 113:Parking is really $47 not $45 as stated by Booking.com. Please upgradethis info. Seems steep but is probably in line with other garages in thearea. The one minor thing that bothered me was the Tuscan bottled waterin the room for $6.95! Often hotels I have stayed in recently offer acouple of local bottted waters free! Nickle/Dime feeling going onhere. Even charge $9.95 per day to have WiFi in the room!

Review 114:Can't beat this location overlooking Quincy Mkt and just a shortwalk to TDGardens. We were given a compimentary upgrade to a balconyroom which meant we had a 4x2 ft outdoor space to use as a cooler...Luckily because one is advised that any products in the roomrefrigerator used (of course) or even moved will be charged.

Review 115:We went to Boston just for the weekend, so we were looking for a hotel in a good location, and this hotel was absolutely perfect. The staff was also very kind! Very nice place to stay.

Review 116:Tip: can be loud, due to the great location, so keep you fan on "ON" versus "AUTO" and you will have white noise.

Review 117:Location! Across the street from Quincy Market and Faneuil Hall and within walking distance to North End and many (historic) bars. The T is about 2 blocks away.

Review 118:The fact that breakfast was not included in the rate. The hotel was expensive.

Review 119:The hotel'location made it incredibly easy to walk everywhere, even with rain. Our room had a Juliette balcony over the plaza and that was great with open views.

Review 120:Compared to Hotels in other cities the value-for-money ratio was not so good, 220$ per night is a bit too much for what is offered!

Review 121:Great Location, 1 minute walk to quincy marked and Hard Rock Cafe directly located on the Freedom Trail. Clean rooms with beautiful bathrooms

Review 122:10.00 dollars a day for internet, if you ordered room service there was 7% tax , then 4.00 delivery fee , then 20 percent gratuity. Went down to restaurant / bar to have a drink and order dinner wouldn't let me take it out said I had to have it wrapped and delivered to my room of course with all fees included!!!!! Went to business center on the second floor to use the computer there and it wasn't free you had to swipe a card and pay per minute once you where online!!!!

Review 123:Stayed at this place for the third time cant be in a better location in downtown Boston, very friendly staff.

Review 124:My card was charged for a service that I did not use and I had to inform the hotel to have it credited back to me. It was a waste of my time. How many other travelers may have bogus charges that they don't notice on their bill? Check your room billing for inadvertent charges!!

Review 125:Wonderful room and fabulous location.

Review 126:Kind of disappointed that although there's a refrigerator there is no microwave or coffee pot. And charging separately for wifi seems so chintzy in this day and age.

Review 127:Our suite was luxurious.

Review 128:The hotel was directly across the street from Qunicy market which was great. The hotel's close proximity to the North end was awesome too. Between the location and cleanliness of the hotel you can't go wrong, my go-to lodging when in Boston.

Review 129:Could be a little more reasonable about price of car parking.

Review 130:How easy it was to get to everything we wanted to get to and it was a safe area. Clean, modern, comfortable rooms, great staff, didn't have to worry about the car either. Excellent trip

Review 131:Location so close to the market, the smell and the look of it all was not what we expected.

Review 132:Each room was a little different. We liked each of the bathrooms.

Review 133:The rear rooms on Blackstone Street can be noisy with dumpster service in the middle of the night.

Review 134:The hotel is in excellent for sights and events at the garden.
