Reviews for Club Quarters Hotel in Boston
Review 1:Most, not all of the staff wasn't friendly or helpful at all. The room was very small almost motel 6 status for a lot more money.
Review 2:The location was great, check in was prompt, clean bed.
Review 3:Housekeeping kept only stocking one facewasher for two people....bizarre but everything else was nice.
Review 4:Good location - very short walk to Boston Common, the Freedom Trail and a number of excellent restaurants. Complimentary snacks and drinks in the lobby lounge were handy.
Review 5:Confused by best way to handle parking from any website info or front desk communication. It would have been easier to valet, but that option wasn't as readily visible during booking process. Also bugged a tiny bit by the ultra bright neon blue lights from the building across the street from my room that made it feel like daylight even at night! Boy oh boy, I wouldn't have minded if they shut those suckers off at night!
Review 6:Warm, kind, friendly staff from front desk to those you bump into in halls and elevators. Convenience of very local in-room dining. Good space on desk for working. Also the most cheerful and professional pub staffer to take my dinner order - she was a gem. I'd stay again - convenient to regular meetings I take in the area and to shopping, dining, destinations.
Review 7:An old reference in the room stated we would get 10% off in the pub next door. This reference was out of date apparently and we ended up paying full price. That discount was one of the reasons we ate next door to begin with so should definitely be updated.
Review 8:I loved this hotel from all aspects. I was into many before but I can say this one was so special and comfortable that I wished all the others I stayed in before to be the same!
Review 9:Our room was a bit too small, so will definitely pay more attention to the size next time around.
Review 10:Great location! Loved the free water cooler with bottles in the hall.
Review 11:the room is a little bit small for the price. no refrigerator. Besides the room is not very sound-proof. we often heard noises both from street and other rooms.
Review 12:the location is just perfect, we went to everywhere on foot and only took one subway. refreshments are provided in the lobby, which is very sweet of them.
Review 13:The club room is a pleasant spot with an espresso machine, snacks and fruit on hand for your use. Filtered water and bottles on each floor is a great idea and convenience. Front desk always helpful. Pub meals next door are of good quality and value, ate there twice. Had the small room and it was fine in the main area and bathroom, just a little tight getting to the far side of the bed. Kept the two suitcases under the desk. There are three T stations within 150m and an easy 500m walk to South Station for the train south.
Review 14:This could be a minus point for some people but, there is no breakfast option neither free nor paid.
Review 15:Club Quarters is situated in Downtown Boston. Even though it is in business district, placed in a quiet street. If you come by plane to Boston just take Silver Line from Logan Airport till South Station, which is free and then hotel is in 5 min. walking distance. There are plenty of shops, restaurants and bars in the vicinity. Even there is a nice pub which you can access from the lobby. Downtown Crossing metro station is in 5 min. walk distance and Boston Common is in 10 min. walk distance. Staff is very kind and helpful. Rooms are clean and comfortable and you have complementary Wi-Fi which worked fine. Definetly a nice stay in Downtown Boston.
Review 16:Not enough toiletries for 2 pp
Review 17:Convenient location, great price, friendly staff, super anemeties such as coffee bar & filtered water 24 hrs, & adjacent dining.
Review 18:front doors are tough to navigate with luggage.
Review 19:The staff was very friendly. Housekeeping, especially Marina, made very sure that we had everything we needed. Location was perfect!
Review 20:Nothing.
Review 21:1. Convenient location, 5 minutes walk from hotel to Quincy market and South station. Also walkable to Chinatown, about 10 minutes. 2. There is a lounge on the first floor where you could get hot water and coffee, and it's complementary. That's great! 3. Free WIFI in hotel room.
Review 22:Really did not have anything negative, except for a coffee maker not working in the Club room. Parking lot attendant never revealed charge would be for full versus half-day unless out by noon, so unpleasant surprise to end stay.
Review 23:Staff were fantastic, helpful throughout stay. Room was clean, comfortable and spacious. Location to Quincy Market, the North End and downtown was superb.
Review 24:We ordered breakfast from the restaurant and the bartender was extremely rude. The food was good and so was the rest of the staff. It was just that one person.
Review 25:I loved the location! 5 minutes from Faneuil hall. I love how cheap it was. The rooms are really nice, clean and comfortable. They are a little small but perfect for a couple.
Review 26:Service staff was very helpful in getting us where we needed to be on time. Bag storage a great feature. Complimentary fruit, snacks and beverages in comfortable reception room a valued added benefit.
Review 27:Restaurant staff was a little short when we showed up shortly before end of breakfast, but served us a good breakfast non the less
Review 28:Location, staff, room was great
Review 29:-
Review 30:Great location, staff were helpful, tea and drinks in the lobby lounge were great after walking all day. Our room was spacious with kitchenette.. Faneuil Hall Market place was so close as was CHEERs easy walk to Basketball stadium.
Review 31:We had a great time - so these things are just nitpicking: Room was a little small and the window was facing directly onto another building. Toiletries and coffee were not automatically replenished ever day. Rooms a little noisy if guests in neighbouring rooms are loud throughout the night.
Review 32:Excellent location in the heart of the city. Comfy bed. Nice staff. Very happy overall.
Review 33:I did not like that there wasn't a vent in the bathroom. There are no refrigerators and the third floor reeked. Also, I had a post card that was written on and was in a nice slim paper bag that I set next to the coffee machine...when I got back to the hotel the cleaners threw it out!!!! It was gone! That really ticked me off I mean it wasn't trash! Also whoever cleaned out the room that day failed to leave us enough towels and a floor mat.
Review 34:I liked the location! It was easy to walk to the nearest t stop.
Review 35:No taxi stand. Had to have staff call all the time due to the fact it was on an obscure side street
Review 36:Location. Extremely walkable to points of interest. Nice common lounge to relax in and have a coffee
Review 37:The bed was too hard and the pillow was too soft; I hardly had full night sleep in the two nights that I stay in the hotel.
Review 38:Location / Location / Location
Review 39:Some minor things. The toilet in the bathroom had the industrial commercial lever, which was just strange. The in-room coffee machine did not work and when we informed them they said they would send someone to fix it and never did. Also, we got a lot of street noise at night and a lot of hotel noise early in the morning.
Review 40:The staff was amazingly helpful and incredibly friendly. They treated us like guests instead of customers. The room remained nice and warm without use of the heater and despite the cold Boston air outside. The room service food was a great value probably the least expense yet best tasting I've ever experienced.
Review 41:Employee flawed input for my credit card which was block ever since. Had to pay rest from my own account. They suggested to carry on more cash... It became worse since the previous times I stayed here. Had to ask to clean my room. Enough said. Will not return anymore
Review 42:The location is quite good in downtown Boston
Review 43:After four nights the staff didn't ask about our stay when checking out, We had a very bad experience when we used the restaurant. Apparently the waitress didn't think we were spending enough. We were never asked if we needed more water. I had to ask for it, and then she waited on other people before giving us more water. We never ate there again.
Review 44:Room was very good. The chilled water was a bonus. Location was good. We asked for more coffee in our room and the staff remembered that.
Review 45:One day the room wasn't clean.
Review 46:The staff was friendly and accommodating. Having a pub right beside it was great and location location location. Will definitely check out other locations in other cities.
Review 47:At check in they charged us a deposit of 43 dollars which they would release at check out, though they told us it could last 7-10 working days till it arrives. It's been over 12 now and nothing...
Review 48:Great location, close to everything but in a relatively quiet street, nice room overall
Review 49:The restaurant attached to the hotel is understaffed, cramped and noisy. The hotel is pricey, but well within the price range for downtown hotels.
Review 50:The hotel was very conveniently located, midway between Boston Common and Faneuil Hall, and near all transport. There are many restaurants nearby. My room was spacious and comfortable, with a refrigerator and microwave. There is a nice guest lounge.
Review 51:Didn't get our room cleaned the first day even after we called and asked to have it cleaned. However the staff apologized and sent up supplies that we needed then didn't charge us for the early check in so we were happy.
Review 52:Great location, loved the keurig in the room, room was small but clean fit our needs. Accommodated our need for an early check in and helped us with directions to our many destinations.Thank you!
Review 53:The hotel info stated that parking was available. We parked outside the hotel only to find the parking facility was 150 yards back along the one way street we had just arrived on. After several loops trying to get to the parking garage we gave up and used Valet parking instead, which was actually great.
Review 54:The bed's mattress was hard and unforgiving. No concierge which was disappointing.
Review 55:Location near attractions and nightlife. Easy to walk around city. Elephant and Castle very nice pub with locals and fellow travelers.
Review 56:I have never received a receipt for my payment after the computer system was down when we checked out. The room lacked drawers for storing clothes and somewhere to store large travel bags.
Review 57:Location was good for getting around the city. Useful having a bar and food on site. Staff were helpful and friendly. Everything was clean.
Review 58:The room made a lot of noises (heater). It was tough to find a good balance between hot and cold in the room, but that can also be expected with an older property. The tapping from the heater kept waking us. The sheets are a little hard/loud.
Review 59:The hotel has an excellent location in walking distance to many attractions. We booked a small room so that was expected. Efficiency is what we sought. There were 2 of us. The attached pub is great and convenient! Staff was polite.
Review 60:The halls and room we're pretty small, but did not feel cramped.
Review 61:The location, was very nice. We could easily walk to local attractions. The purified water was nice to have for our walks.
Review 62:The sitting room to meet up with friends and have a free drink and nibbles is a really inspired addition, my first visit to Club Quarters it won't be my last. Walked from South Station in about 10 minutes.
Review 63:Location was perfect! hotel was lovely, rooms were well appointed had everything we needed, perfect size and comfortable. Enjoyed the room behind the lobby to relax, enjoy coffee and tea and snacks
Review 64:Nothing
Review 65:The price was very reasonable compared to other hotels and the location was unbeatable. The free water bottle dispenser was so convenient and appreciated as well. Amenities were always clean. Many reviews mention that the rooms are small, but we apparently had the smallest room in the building and didn't ever wish we had more space.
Review 66:The staff was ok but could have been a little bit more friendly. No view from the windows- you look across into anothe building.
Review 67:Perfect Location! Only minutes by feet away from Quincy Market! Very good wi-fi!
Review 68:The drinking glasses were dirty and not covered as well as the coffee cups. The towels were within 1 foot of the toilet and at the same level making them subject to splashes and the sink was almost as close. Cleaning persons did not vacuum or clean the cups and glasses. The bed cover was very dirty. For the money, $350 ish a night, it was definitely a poor choice. I would suggest anyone to stay out of Boston at a Choice Hotel and use UBER taxis to come into town. It would be far cheaper and better rooms.
Review 69:The Check in desk and staff were pleasant and gave proper information. I made 2 requests to put clean cups and drinking glass in the room, but that did not happen. They took my requests.
Review 70:The food in the pub was poor, wouldn't recommend eating here. Valet parking a bit expensive - parking is very near and can be done more cheaply than valet park. Having said that the valet parking was a very good service.
Review 71:Excellent location. Superb facilities. Really good wifi. Comfortable bed. Good shower. Great coffee making facilities in the room and in the lobby. Printing facilities for boarding cards. Valet parking responsive. Pub next door, great for a drink. Easy access to good eating places. Easy access to tourist places. Room 801 corner room - good size
Review 72:Could hear people using the tread mill in exercise room from second floor room! Not good with recommendations for restaurants or activities.
Review 73:Located minutes from Freedom Trail Loved the coffee machine in lobby
Review 74:We've stayed in several Club Quarters and we stayed in three other hotels on this trip. The staff here were offhand and uninterested. They ignored customer's passing by. We had booked a one room suite, but were given a standard, (small) room on check-in. We complained & were told all the larger rooms were fully booked and we 'might' be able to get one for the next night. The following morning, we had to pack all our bags & left them in the small room. We were given a larger room when we got back. Oh, and the restaurant isn't a restaurant. It's a poor copy of an English pub. There's no way we would take breakfast in there! However, the staff at CQ Boston can't choose the building they work in, but nor can they blame it. If you choose to work in a customer facing job, then you should behave and act accordingly. CQ Boston fell down because of it's staff being, not rude, but uninterested and impolite. We won't stay there again. There are many other hotels, with nicer staff.
Review 75:Location wasn't too bad.
Review 76:Located close to public transportation (T) in a quiet business district, at least on Saturday/Sunday. Restaurant for breakfast on ground floor and open by 7 am on Sunday.
Review 77:The room was small but that didn't matter. I liked that you could crack the window open. The coffee maker in the lounge was literally amazing
Review 78:Although the rooms were small as mentioned in several reviews, the reviews were right about the awesome hotel based on location, cleanliness and comfort. We only stayed one night before heading out to the Capes so the location couldn't have been better. In fact, we flew in after midnight and there was free transportation to the hotel. Take the Silver Line and you only have to walk a couple blocks from the stop. The hotel even offers late check out for a fee and it was so worth it for us so we could sleep in and enjoy the city our first day in Boston!
Review 79:The check-in was slow, 1.5 hrs with 2 children, and we had missed supper. To make up for this, they offered free valet parking, but the next night when I reviewed my bill they had charged me for this, an extra $25 + tax. Also, I requested a wake-up call as we had tickets for Thomasland and wanted to have a full day there with the kids, but we were delayed by 2 hours when we never got a call to wake-up. Also, this site advertises 2 queen beds when in reality, it is a queen and dirty pull out couch. There were 2 couples from Quebec complaining about this when we were "checking in", as the price for this stay outrageous for the poor service, parking issues and some questionable cleaning and advertising. On a 2 week road trip, it was our worst stay. We will never return, nor recommend. Avoid at all costs.
Review 80:Location. We had a superior room and it was great for a family or an extended stay, but I would not want to spend any more time here than we already did.
Review 81:Convienence of the position of the hotel let us explore the city on foot and using the subway system. The pub attached to the hotel provided al a carte breakfast, lunch and dinner at reasonable prices. Bathroom facilities clean with a walk in shower. Bed very comfortable. Staff friendly and helpful. Coffee making facilities in room appreciated.
Review 82:We called the front desk to inquire about taxis to the airport. The clerk offered to call us one. When we got down stairs she had called a town car at twice the price. She called the driver by name so they must have an arrangement.
Review 83:It was very nice that filtered water and bottles were available right on our floor. Being able to access the sleep closet was also nice. We got extra pillows and an iron.
Review 84:I loved this hotel! I had a small queen room but it did not seem small at all since it was designed so efficiently. There was a machine with sealed empty water bottles with ice cold water you fill them with for free on each floor. The location was perfect. Close to many things and not terribly far from a T stop. Very safe too. Elevators needed a key card.
Review 85:the room was too small for us, but it was a delight experience in Boston.
Review 86:the stuff there was quite helpful and friendly. It's a great deal to stay.
Review 87:No free breakfast or snacks. One staff member not very friendly and not helpful. Beds not very comfortable with itchy sheets.
Review 88:The location was excellent! Complimentary water and helpful staff.
Review 89:Shared room, family travelling with 2 adults and 2 older children. Should have 2 proper double/ queen beds and not a pull out sofa bed as second option!
Review 90:Small rooms. Very congested entry area with bathroom and wardrobe doors opening onto each other. Only 2 paper cups provided.
Review 91:Great location. Close to everything.
Review 92:Parking down the road was really expensive and the wifi was really fast or really slow! Also we booked a queen and was given twin share - as we arrived at 1am in the morning, we couldn't be bothered complaining.
Review 93:The location was great, within walking distance to everything and the rooms were really clean
Review 94:Room was a bit small for price and no fridge. Staff was ok not that great. Was not greeted when entering building There was only drinks and snacks in the group living room the first day we were there. Any other time we went to get a drink it was empty. Did not inform us of price of valet.
Review 95:The location was great!!!!
Review 96:Wish we had a small refrigerator in room.
Review 97:Close location to central area and North End. Supplying water bottles and water for guest. Staff and cleaning staff were very helpful. Close to airport.
Review 98:The room and shower were very small. First day got no maid service even though we were gone for 8 hrs. Price of room for value not even close!!
Review 99:Great location and great front desk staff. Security also great!
Review 100:NA.
Review 101:Location, good wifi, shower with good pressure and ample hot water, free chilled purified water dispenser with plastic bottles. Room was spacious. I've stayed at the Lincoln's Inn, London, UK branch. Standards are comparable.
Review 102:Convenient location and considering it was downtown Boston, in the summer,it's price was pretty decent. Pub next door was also good for breakfast.
Review 103:They couldn't find our reservation and it took over 90 minutes and several calls to Booking.com to get our rooms. On checkout both groups had billing issues with hotel in terms of bogus cancellation bills or inaccurate rates. The front desk people were pleasant enough but there was a lot of confusion, stress and wasted time. The rooms were small, as expected but the bathroom was the smallest I've ever been in. I've seen bigger in an RV.
Review 104:Location was excellent.
Review 105:Staff not really helpful, room were old. The bathroom looked like it had not been cleaned (especially the shower). We kept our flip flops in there.
Review 106:Great location, wifi, free bottled water
Review 107:I paid USD 1800 for 5 nights, and the service and atmosphere didn't meet my expectation. It would be OK if I pay around 200 for this hotel, but maybe it's financial district, and high season. I paid USD100 less at Sheraton Boston, and accessed to club lounge, and had king-size bed.
Review 108:it was located in financial district, so convenient for work, but it's a small hotel, and street is dark where the hotel is located, so I didn't go out at night
Review 109:I was a little disappointed with the room size and the bed was a little small. Also, the bedding was torn and the spare pillows had marks on the cases.
Review 110:The location is excellent! Very close to the state house and other interesting buildings. The free coffee and snacks was great!
Review 111:The front desk staff could have been friendlier, but they were efficient. Breakfast staff was inattentive.
Review 112:Excellent location, comfortable room, clean, great value for the money.
Review 113:The extractor fan in my bathroom wasn't working.
Review 114:My iHome device wasn't working and they sorted it quickly. The laundry service was good value and on time.
Review 115:as i was in a business trip, i requested my company's name to be added next to the visitor's name, as i usually do as a routine. This is important for me to claim money back on professional grounds-as well as for my company to refund this money from tax. The hotel REFUSED to do it and now i have to pay the accommodation expenses by myself. very rude personnel, the receptionist was not helpful and unwilling to resolve the issue; he picked up the phone to speak with somebody else, while i was still talking to him. Shame, they were so unprofessional! i would never reccommend this hotel to a colleague.
Review 116:neat hotel and nice location
Review 117:This hotel is in a great part of downtown Boston and the rooms are very spacious. The staff was very friendly and there are always snacks and beverages in the lobby.
Review 118:Our room had a large chunk of carpet missing, free refreshments were gone after our first day there, and never replaced
Review 119:Location was prime, close to everything
Review 120:This hotel was very comfortable & we loved the location so close to the city centre. We also enjoyed the facilities of the Elephant & Castle pub next door. We would definitely recommend this hotel.
Review 121:There wasn't a refrigerator. Even a very small one would have been nice.
Review 122:The location was awsome. We walked to fanuil hall and TD garden.the room was updated.
Review 123:To be fair this was the week of the ADA meeting and MIT graduation, so prices were through the roof everywhere. I just can't get over paying over $400 a night for an under 200 sq ft room. But it was what the marked would bear and I had no choice.
Review 124:Location
Review 125:Only complaint I had was that the walls were a little thin.
Review 126:The price was great for the location and the discount on parking cut our rate in half. It was my first time in Boston and everything was walking distance from the hotel.
Review 127:The room was very small and the pictures online made the room feelmuch larger.
Review 128:Location, location, location! The room was very clean and the smallspace was set up to make the most of the size.
Review 129:Well, the windows did not give much day light since there were high office buildings across the street.
Review 130:Excellent location just around the corner of Washington street pedestrian zone in the city centre. Nice meeting room with coffee and tea.
Review 131:The elevators were painfully slow, the facilities are very small for the price, and our "queen mattress" was actually just two singles shoved together. It didn't take too much movement for them to split on you. You're paying for the location alone.
Review 132:It was easy to find, in a good location, and the staff was helpful.
Review 133:Indifferent staff Area feels dodgy early evening, many homeless people Useless "services" and for 200 USD per night, since I arrived on a Friday, no snacks provided Impossible coffee machine Small room with nowhere to put suitcase, only a shower in tiny bathroom, no fridge, street noise & noise from inside hotel
Review 134:Proximity to South Station. The pub downstairs. Room service.
