Reviews for Diamond Hotel Ngapali

Review 1:I was really expecting a lot more for $170 per night as it is quite basic compared to other hotels we stayed in Burma. No one uses the pool area because there is nothing to sit on- they don't provide any sun beds. It's no where near as inviting as it could be, likewise with the front jetty.

Review 2:Opposite PVI which is a great for sundowners. Rooms are ok but quite basic (and we went for 'de luxe'). Partial sea view. The pool area could be really good but they don't make the most of it. Breakfast round the pool is nice but afterwards they pack aware all the chairs and tables.

Review 3:Breakfast was ok but not refilled neither with enough choices. Rooms are confortable but interior design should be updated. Swimming pool was not filtered and therefore not available / used.

Review 4:The hotel is situated in one of the nicest and more beautiful part of the long beach

Review 5:nothing really, the only niggle would be the internet service which is rather slow if your lucky to have any but that will be an area/location problem rather than just at this hotel, which over time will get better i'm sure.

Review 6:The staff, the room, the view to the beach and sea which is right up to the complex, food including breakfast. The people here in this location are all very kind and friendly. The rooms are cleaned at least once a day. Air-con works great. And you can use the sun loungers at the place next door as well

Review 7:Bit expensive; paid for breakfast buffet but only got it on 1 out of 5 days (though we got a nice breakfast instead); VISA machine was not working; use the beach 100m right to the hotel - heavily polluted river at hotel beach

Review 8:Friendly staff, clean rooms, not spoiled, close to very nice local village; nice pool; cosy bungalows

Review 9:On arrival I was asked to pay cash in dollars. I reminded them that theytake MasterCard but they said the machine was broken. As I was stayingsix nights I said I would, all the same, wait until the cc machine wasfixed and save my only means of easy currency exchange in Myanmar! Itwas while at reception that my partner asked me why I had paid the taxidriver 10,000 kyats as the website had offered free pick up from thelocal airport and indeed we had been met there by hotel staff and showninto a mini bus. I replied that the hotel staff had told me that I hadto pay the driver direct and not the hotel. I was taken to my room andwas immediately hit by a fierce smell of latrine disinfectant blockswhich was unacceptable but which I hoped would clear in time. I wasdisappointed to see that we had been allocated a room with twin bedsdespite requesting a double, but such things happen. The room smell didnot improve and after returning to the room some hours later, Irequested a change. After the manager spent 20 minutes sniffing his wayaround the room I was given a temporary room change for three nights toanother a nearby room with a double bed. I was told I could only staythere three nights as it was reserved for another couple. I could onlyassume that they had made a bigger request for a double bed than I had!The other room was fine, except my partner awoke in the night feeling atouch chilly and went to the wardrobe to get a blanket only to find itwas damp. A morning inspection found that it was heavily soiled with abrown/yellow tide Mark all over it, very disconcerting andsuspicious staining! Talking of the morning, when I missed housekeepingthe next morning whilst showering at 0815 hours, it transpired that theyonly make one effort to clean the room each day and they did not return!

Review 10:The hotel is pleasantly situated by the wonderful Ngapali beach and hasmuch to recommend it but is utterly spoilt by its management.

Review 11:Food over priced not many other options as at the southern end room very dark

Review 12:Beautiful garden and pool staff great very relaxing good breakfast worth going to the restaurant PVI on the beach

Review 13:The setting of the pool, looking out to the ocean is amazing. We liked being near the fishing village it gave the place more of a sense of reality. Very attentive and friendly staff.

Review 14:Room is basic. Staff speaks only little English. Hotel is far from everything.

Review 15:Hotel is on the beach. Breakfast is good. They have free airport transfer.

Review 16:The wifi was pretty non existent and the food in the restaurant was very expensive. Liked the location but at night it was a bit scary having to walk on the road past packs of dogs to get back to the hotel.

Review 17:Great pool and very comfortable rooms. Fabulous views of the sea, fishing boats and close to the small island with an excellent restaurant on it. The staff were very attentive and the security guards were always looking out for the guests. I've never see security staff work so hard.

Review 18:the resort is located next to the fishing village, which is both a good and a bad thing. On the one hand, we were able to watch the fishermen at work, and on the other hand, we witnessed an unpleasant episode among the locals (nothing dangerous though). If you want to venture out into the village, make sure you get some advice from hotel staff first.

Review 19:This small gorgeous resort is really well kept and great value for money. The staff is very attentive and communication with them was flawless. Nice, however basic rooms. Really big and tasty breakfast. Close to a very nice restaurant on a small island, ideal spot for some sunset romance over grilled seafood. Lastly, free pick-up was provided to and from the hotel.

Review 20:internet only worked very sporadically, Food at hotel restaurant breakfast good but other food very bland.

Review 21:thevlaybout of the resort was excellent, landscaping, gardens and siting of cabins. Second row cabins still had great view. Best location on beach, close to fishing village. Great for swimming or relaxing on beach

Review 22:I was surprised that with the recent developments in Myanmar, the hotel still only took cash.

Review 23:This was one if the lesser expensive (but still pricey at about 150usd per night) resorts in Ngapali. Beautiful beachfront rooms, great pool that no one seemed to use and very attentive staff.

Review 24:WiFi connection nearly absent. It's beach restaurant has a good potential but now is poorly displayed.

Review 25:Nice hotel with private bungalows on the beach. Lovely staff. Large and clear rooms. Best position: located at the southern part of the Ngapali coast, long beach, no palms shadow in the morning, fisherman activities and nice island restaurant nearby.

Review 26:The pool wasn't in order yet

Review 27:We liked the calm area of the beach and the relaxing atmosfere within the hotel.

Review 28:Nice pool and located on the beach.

Review 29:Overpriced hotel with many staff who make nothing.

Review 30:Pool

Review 31:No internet, no tv, no credit cards

Review 32:Staff, garden pool

Review 33:Nice location between the village and the fishermen's village. Friendly and helpful staff. Quiet place.

Review 34:Nothing in particular, just to be peeky WiFi sometimes was down...but on holiday it should be a plus

Review 35:Quiet, nice view, staff
